Drops in Southsun..
Fairly often no less, I can farm for an hour and usually get 2 pieces.
I’d just buy it though, its dirt cheap
Thanks for the info. I have actually found a piece on another character and must have sold it immediately without paying attention. Makes more sense now that I see it’s just jewelry and not full armor.
Rangers should be able to get some kind of buff when not using their pet. However, since Ranger’s dmg is directly tied to the pet, it would have to increase the dmg no matter what and then maybe have a secondary effect depending on which pet we dismissed for the buff(this is basically what Warlocks could do in WoW).
Example: Dismissing a cat could grant XX% increase in dmg and crit dmg. Dismissing a bear could grant XX% increase in dmg and XXX toughness, etc.
Settler’s gear? Where do you get that?
(It’s not listed under: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats )
Pets take 30% less damage from NPC AoE, and 15% less damage from player AoE.
This.
WHY have they not done anything with ANY class’ pets and AoE?
I run a 30/30/0/0/10 build with Traveler’s/Explorer’s gear because I mostly farm right now, but other than Sigil of Luck I have on my shortbow, I don’t want to base my other weapons/sigil choices on farming. My next set of gear will probably be some kind of damage hybrid(whether that’s pwr/prec or condi dmg).
I usually keep dual axes equipped as my secondary, but I sometimes switch to shortbow. I want to start to use GS and Sword/Torch-Dagger too. My main question was that if there were any sigils that lent themselves to the playstyles of the different weapon sets.

Kind of new to 80, and was just curious if I was missing something with sigils and how some of the Ranger’s abilities work. For ele’s it’s obvious to go with Sigil of Battle because of attunement changing for example. If there anything obvious like that for rangers?
I was thinking about Sigil of Blood for shortbow because the rate of fire, but I don’t know what to put on my axes, gs, sword, dagger, warhorn, etc. Any ideas?
Simple but really simple fix to this (i don’t know if it’s already been posted here) is to make story mode scale up with the number of players so it can be soloed and it would give people a nice thing to do while not feeling like playing with other players.
Single player instances are actually kind of fun. High density mobs and more challenging than regular PvE without having to rely on other people. The problem is that the dungeons were already designed for multiple people so reworking that would be a rather large time/money investment as well as the fact that for some reason GW2 devs hate the idea of players farming, and people would certainly farm single player dungeons.
You can try http://www.gw2lfg.com but there’s not a lot of story dungeons being done overall.
I really don’t know why the devs haven’t simple a simple LFG system like that since it’s just a simple web interface not too different from the TP.

This is amazing. Thank you so much for this resource.
Longbow/shortbow 30-30-0-10-0 Piercing arrows, extended range and faster cooldown on bow skills…pair of Drakes
Profit..
Which trait do you get for 10 in the Vitality line?
I wouldn’t worry about masterbond though. You get a ton more dps switching.
Sorry to pester you, but could you clarify? Also, is the “bunker ranger” basically just down the toughness and vitality lines?
Thanks for the advice. I was just unsure what was better overall for DPS. I do realize that the pet traits would be beneficial for survivability down the road but I didn’t know if I would be sacrificing much DPS that way.
Do you have any suggestion on Traveler’s armor vs Explorer’s? Or a mix of both?
This is a loaded question, but what is the “best” farming build?
I’m not sure how to maximize my (mostly)single target DPS. I don’t know if buffing the pet is the best way to do this, or to get traits that benefit me mostly are better? Keep in mind that most of the mobs I plan on killing are rather easy, but I may want to farm karka some day. Is there a good hybrid build?
How about just Shaggy, its already a dog technically.
“Shaggy” is also blocked. I had to use “Shaiggy”.
“Shaggydog” is what Rickon named his direwolf because he’s 4 and what is this.
“Shaggydog” from Game of Thrones and it got denied. Kind of dumb.
Anybody else have names blocked for no reason?
I really can’t believe that they haven’t either done something to reduce the AoE pets take across the board(including Spirit Weapons, Minons, Turrets, etc), OR give pet classes some kind of damage bonus or something for when they’re not using them.

Guardian or Ele (I understand that Guardians do well in Arah?)
Both in full exotics or ascended with appropriate superior runes/sigils.
Both have non-squishy PvE dungeon/support builds.
Have experience with several dungeons and Fractals, but not Arah.
Online most evenings.
It makes events like this feel that being lucky is better than having actual skill.
Unfortunately, that describes a lot of encounters in the game. Without a real aggro or heal mechanic, sometimes thinks are just “lucky”.
Also, to those of you who say temples need to be hard and challenging for skilled players, etc….you really need to think about the difference between dungeons and temples. Temples were meant to be done in open world PVE with the people in the zone and maybe a group of guildies or friends. The problem is the amount of coordination and luck required to finish these things is somewhat absurd for the environment. Even then, the rewards aren’t worth the effort put in.
So, what we had was reasonably difficult open world content that anyone could participate in. What we have now is content requiring coordinated teams of skilled players. I thought that was what dungeons were for?
This is pretty much the conclusion that I have come to.
It would really seem that these events should be able to be completed just by a group or 2 of people already in the zone. It doesn’t seem like it was intended as this huge cross-server event that takes quite a few coordinated groups or guilds full of people on Ventrilo or TS to be able to complete successfully. That’s really more of a dungeon thing.
The other larger issue with these “protect the NPC” events in general is that since the game doesn’t really have an aggro/hate mechanic with no options for taunting or tanking, it’s generally just kind of random how it can turn out. I realize you’re just supposed to attack everything you can so the NPC doesn’t get hit but that doesn’t always work. The lack of healing classes only exacerbates this problem(yes I know some classes have area heals).
So I guess the point really is that should these be dungeon-hard? I don’t see any groups on gw2lfg.com for them when I searched before, and the rewards are for ACCESS to PURCHASE something, not actual physical rewards. It just doesn’t quite add up I guess.
Yeah, this isn’t more challenging this is a pain in the neck. It takes all the fun out of it. I mean did someone sit around and say “Hey, how can we possibly make some of the deadliest and worst mobs even deadlier? I know lets take a vet risen gorilla that already throws players around like rag dolls, cripples them, and lets go ahead and make it throw three boulders too.” Next thing you know it’ll be throwing it’s dung at us. You’re not fooling anyone. This isn’t about making a challenge, it’s about slowing the loot train so more people will buy gems with cash. Stop ruining this game.
Just wanted to say your post was both humorous and insightful. I really couldn’t agree more with that last bit as I’ve been telling people the same thing yet they don’t see it or want to.
I would even go further to say that some of the dungeon changes were made partly for the same reason.
I’m rather new to the temples in Orr scene, and I haven’t really paid them much attention. So I finally decide that I want to get an exotic back item since I don’t plan on running Fractals enough to get one with tokens.
After I looked up where to get the one I needed, I figured it would just be an event or whatever to get it flipped and I would buy the item then be on my merry way. Not exactly the case.
What I needed was from Grenth, and when I got there there was another player making his way with the NPCs. We tried and failed horribly. Try #2 and we get some people in the region and we make it halfway to the Champ location, and the NPC just keels over all of the sudden and runs back like a baby. Try #3 and we have a substantial amount of people, we kill the champ, then the spiders come and kill the paper-thin NPC when he’s doing his spell or whatever.
It’s at this point that I gave up trying to do it on my server and then decide to see if I could make a post on the forums to see if it’s uncontested on any of the other servers. I was surprised to see how popular these threads were and that the devs seem to be facilitating this method of just guesting to another server because nobody does the events/they’re too hard/not worth the effort, take your pick.
So this begs the question, is this intended or are the temple events just _________ ?
any NA Grenth up?
We tried organizing people for the event on our server but no luck. It’s kind of a pain when the NPC has 5 hp, how buggy.
AC was nerfed, the events in Curse Shore were nerfed, fish gut farm was nerfed. Please tell me you don’t buy the idea that they changed AC to be more “interesting”(a word they actually used in the patch notes), they do these things to decrease the amount of gold people can get in shorter amount of time. AC takes longer now and is far buggier than it was before. CoF will be changed soon enough to also take longer. Remember, they want people to buy gem$$$$$$.
Facerolling through content isn’t exactly interesting. New ac is much better than previous one. And I really hope for cof changes.
I honestly still have fun in CoF even if it is short. The problem I have with AC is that they don’t have a PTR and don’t test their content. It’s buggy and some of the changes they made were pretty bad. I’d take content that is easier, over content that has been hastily changed to affect the economy in the favor of the developers.
AC didn’t get “nerfed”. Also we are not willing to share tactics, not exploits. Probably you will consider the use of terrain to do more damage (fiery gs, everyone uses it) as exploit, i don’t. If you call me exploiting the burden of proving that is yours. The burrow part is now easier because scavengers no longer exist. And it took that long because i didn’t knew that fiery gs #4 can kill a burrow that time.

I don’t remember if Scavengers are the ones that constantly knock you down, but if they are, they do still spawn, just only from certain burrows now. Also, Hodgins seems much harder to guard after the nerf as well.
Anyways, this thread did get derailed. Your post wasn’t helpful at all because nobody but you really wants to spend the gold on consumables or the time to find all of the exploits and 1337 TACTICS to run P1 in less than 15 mins.
To the OP: Depending on if you want to run a dungeon briefly once a night, or if you simply just want to acquire the gear faster, here is my 2 cents.
-You can run Hotw P1(15 mins) once a night and get your 60 tokens each time until you have enough for the gear you want. P2 and P3 are pretty long, and is harder to find a PUG for them.
-You can run AC P1 and P3. I personally avoid P2 because PUGs have trouble with it and it’s still really buggy and the boss is just overall really obnoxious, but in the end you can get your gear faster with doing 2 runs instead of 1.

Lol. I do have videos of that. But im simply not willing to share exploits, as selfish as we are.
Fixed it for you.
Also in your video, it obviously takes longer than 20 seconds. Even then you’re using many consumables and it’s BEFORE the AC nerf.
