My guild decided to let our members go whatever they feel confortable. So we got players all over. Some is staying on SBI. Some in JQ. Some in SoR. Some in Kaineng. A few members are trying to get everyone to go over to Kaineng because it still got space. Some players don’t want to move again. Others are in that 7 day lockdown, and Kaineng might be full by then. So we don’t know yet. It is a mess.
I agree, a complete mess. My guild is in a similar position.
This could help generate $$$ and reduce the burden of repair costs.
I have a suggestion that a new type of mining node is added to WvW maps that needs to be mined, and taken to a friendly Camp to be ‘refined’. This refining process would create supply over a short period of time, and get people moving across the maps and working harder for supply.
Would prove to be a worthy distraction, and an extra dynamic to WvW.
Notes:
logging out of a WvW map would ‘spoil’ the ore you currently have.
The ore could have an expiry time if not refined.

I think from their point of view, transfers could take 7 or 14 days and you might not be ready when it ‘pops’.
As you can only transfer once every 7 days, I don’t see ‘auto transfer’ as a major thing.
If you are in a dungeon group, it would be nice if it reconnected you to the group when you logged back in on your new server (this should now be possible, but isn’t a must).
have a look at SweetFX…it makes GW2 look amazing…

At this point, I’m stuck on a server I don’t want to be on, it’s not my guilds server but CD.
If I’m still here when the 28th comes I’ll unlikely be doing any WvW, just guesting on my guilds server for PvE instead (or doing something else).
That means I’ll be taking up a CD spot I don’t even want.

@Zero Requiem
Because we play games for fun… if it’s not fun why bother playing…buying Gems…etc…? Don’t get me wrong, we like a challenge but we are not a big guild, not a hardcore guild, and we like to play an MMO (which the server we were on is far from – it was completely DEAD).
Maybe you are right, perhaps we should just move on and do something else instead of trying to keep people playing GW2.
Or maybe mass server merges should take place?
Or maybe limit each server WvW map population to be within 10 of the minimum server?
If you feel strongly about saving dead servers, maybe you should consider moving from T1.

THe only problem I can see with that is when larger guilds come together for group events and suddenly you have hundreds of little gold dots to track…
Saying that, as a member of a few, smaller guilds, it would be a great feature to have, seeing as we’re usually too big for one party, but not always big enough for two.
Maybe it should just show the nearest 20 guild members, fading in and out as they move around.
Please can you increase the population cap on servers prior to the end of FREE server transfers? Our guild is in the process of moving servers which has been in progress a while, but has become more urgent with FREE transfers now ending.
We are currently split. The server we are moving to has moved to HIGH and many of our members cannot now transfer (they have been trying at different times of the day).
It looks like they will either be stuck where they are, or will have to pay to join the rest of us. Some are getting very disillusioned with the whole process. This could cause our guild to disband and that would have a major negative impact on all of us.
We have tried to organised people to log-off on the server we have moved to, but I’m not sure this actually achieves anything.
Please help.
My relatively small PvX guild (I’m not the GM) has moved on, for the sole benefit of keeping the guild alive. But I would like to say the following…
SBI would be a great place for medium to large semi/hardcore WvW guilds to make a name for themselves. If you can bring strong direction, and active commanders then you could really pull the server back together.
For those reasonable sized guilds who don’t want to be in the mindless zerg, this is your moment.
Any guild that turns SBI around and back into a true fighting force will certainly catch the eye of all those guilds that have moved on to pastures new.
I would recommend Crystal Desert, I am currently on there as I was scouting them out for my guild (though we are moving elsewhere – i.e. T2).
They have good coverage and a positive attitude. People are very helpful and pretty organised. Some good commanders too, and there is still room for a small group to operate and be effective.
On the other hand, if you are seeking a real challenge then perhaps Isle of Janthir can meet it. They have been hit hard by negative transfers and are looking for real hero’s to turn their fortunes (ignore Maguuma in current tier, they are skewing it).

I don’t know why they have ‘EU’ and ‘NA’ servers, they are all in the same place. Even having language specific EU servers doesn’t make sense as there are many groups on the NA servers that use their own language anyhow (check out the Asian groups).
If they do merge servers, it should be EU and NA, so we just have one server list.
Many guilds left SBI for SoR, a few went to JQ and some to Kaineng.
We are mainly Australians.
Assume Web/Thu oceanic prime time would be best, but guildies are frustrated as some have transferred while others are left behind unable to transfer as yet.
Might have to do a mass logout in order to allow Oceanic/Sea/EU guilds in since SOR is almost always on full status.
We have many oceanic guild members wanting to transfer to SoR, but it is full. We will keep trying this week during our oceanic prime time.
As far as hacking/exploits go… if there’s no hard evidence it is generally disregarded by the masses and does not impact server respect.
That said, obviously these things need to be policed by ALL of us.

This error.. I get it all the time yet I cannot find a fix ;w;
Do you have aoe circles set to show? I used to crash alot till I turned this back on.
I do… I may have to try that out and see if it helps.
going to have to give this a shot too. too many times right before a wall or gate comes down, i get this. :///
that being said, just got a new rig!
puts laptop aside for now
can’t wait to test it out, especially in WvW.New rig? Does it have 18 wheels, a diesel engine and haul cargo? If not, it’s not a “rig”, lol..
“apparatus for some purpose; equipment; outfit; gear: a hi-fi rig; Bring your rod and reel and all the rest of your fishing rig.”
From an oceanic point of view, which server is best to join?
Do both IoJ and CD have reasonably presence at this time (around 1am to 5am PST)?
Nah, just mean everyone can move to SoS / JQ
When you can’t even get enough people to kick off the NPC breakout events, it defeats the idea of an MMO.
There is some merit in being a lone wolf… but it’s not really MMO.
Some people in this thread don’t understand the difference between the words “moral” and “morale”.
Moral:
adjective
1. of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.
2. expressing or conveying truths or counsel as to right conduct, as a speaker or a literary work; moralizing: a moral novel.
3. founded on the fundamental principles of right conduct rather than on legalities, enactment, or custom: moral obligations.
4. capable of conforming to the rules of right conduct: a moral being.
5. conforming to the rules of right conduct ( opposed to immoral ): a moral man.Morale:
noun
emotional or mental condition with respect to cheerfulness, confidence, zeal, etc., especially in the face of opposition, hardship, etc.: the morale of the troops.Source: http://dictionary.reference.com
sorry, I assumed ‘Moral’ was the American spelling of ‘Morale’.
All the same flavour or colour to me.
This isn’t sPVP, its WVW (resource claiming and holding). How many times have we seen a mini zerg bail out a 1v1, 2v2 etc..?
I’m in favour of outmanned servers gaining a guerrilla buff. If you look at it from a WVW point of view, it goes a little way to evening things out. Forcing parts of a zerg to have to go off and actively patrol.
It’s no fun when you have everything, and it’s even less fun when you have nothing… assuming that this is great numbers against few numbers.
Solo flipping resources that flip straight back gets boring quickly.
Perhaps they can control server populations better, so at any given point when outmanned is in effect the ‘zerg’ server can’t log in without some form of penalty (either time, or stat).
That’s a shame because we have Oceanic guilds out there pulling hard to recruit more coverage for that timezone to make things easier on everyone out there.
My guild is still on SBI, so there is every chance I may return in a few months (assuming that my guild starts playing again, dragging themselves from DOTA).
Losing [WM] now feels like 90% of our oceania coverage.

SBI is finished :/
go be negative else where.
hi cookie, just stating a fact.
Why don’t you help them fight, and bring moral up, instead of just trying to lower moral.
SBI isn’t finished, and they do have a lot of fight left. So don’t count them out just yet, the points can be made back still. Also want a fact:
Lowering moral is more detrimental to a server then sticking through the fight, and keeping moral high.
I’ve been fighting every day for a long time. Unfortunately the ever decreasing numbers during oceania times have meant this fight is no longer worth the effort. At times it feels like 10v1. Moral means nothing when numbers continually decline, and you’re fighting with an ever decreasing and retreating defensive line, night after night.
I have decided to switch servers, looking for a server were there is at least some presence during oceania times so I’m not generally fighting with the [Outmanned] buff – though don’t want one that is hammering everyone else.
I’m no hardcore player, but I do play every day for many hours. I play games for fun, that’s all. When there is little to no fun I no longer see the point. Was fun while it lasted though.

sleep time… i guess
can you give me the current score on you server? I want to know how close it is during oceanic times. thanks.
…pretty please with sugar?
can you give me the latest scores please?
what is the latest score please?
DB: 137k +440
YB: 93K +60
EB: 78K +195Last two hours no serious fighting anywhere except YBBL
thanks for that.

hi cookie, just stating a fact.
It’s not a fact. It’s you being annoying and crying for no real reason. Go do something about it or tell it to your pillow.
whose crying? obviously i hit a sore spot. I’m sorry for upsetting you.

The cost of gear repairs when you’re on a losing server means fewer people are willing to defend and sink more gold into a losing position. PvE is far more rewarding in this regard.
It pays to be in a zerg on a winning server, therefore skill is irrelevant.
I think you have overlooked the most important part of the post. Its in the title.
To touch on your post tho. Repairing is, unfortunately, a part of the WvW money sink. However, the recent match-ups in WvW have all been very even so I would assume that repair bills probably follow suit. I dont think any server really does more “steamrolling” than the other, given some exceptions.
I didn’t overlook it, I’m not interested in the monthly either. MY point was that wvw is a money sink to a lot of people so that won’t bother paying for upgrades etc…

1. Keep Downed state reviving
2. Remove in-combat Defeated state reviving
3. Increase out-of-combat Defeated state reviving time

…as for BG they have been T1 and were very strong but lacked coverage, hence their fall. In dropping to T2 they lost some oceania WvW guilds too like DiE.
Have they come back stronger?
Quote from DiE website:
“On the 16th of November 2012, after much debate we decided to head to Sea of Sorrows. WvW in Blackgate had become dead. The Militia (pugs) were nowhere to be seen, WvW focused guilds had already jumped ship and we were outnumbered on each borderland 5 to 1. For the longevity of the guild and the game, we decided to move to Sea of Sorrows so that we could continue to have fun.”
SBI will not be returning to T1 anytime soon, no longer have the coverage. SoR look strong favorites as they can run 24/7 (at least at the moment).
SBI is suffering the effects of negative migration, and server burnout.
Well done Risingashes, obviously put a lot of thought into it and potentially some very good ideas.
SBI down, Kaineng up. 3rd of SBI WvW moved to Kaineng. The went there because of cheating in T1 by the servers SBI was up against (so they say).
I hope BG have far more numbers than the last time around. Would be great to see them offer good competition.
Watch out for SoS’s multi zergs.
Yeah, a fairer option would be to divide points by the number of allies on the map at that given point in time.
This would balance population gains across server.
i would like NA and EU servers to merge in WvWvW
Can’t imagine that ever happening… the lag would be woeful. Where would the servers sit?
JQ use winning tactics that you can’t fault
As far as scoring goes, WvW is a game of numbers.
SoS have those numbers = win.
Good to see Kaineng cakewalking since the move from SBI. Can they reach T1?
Is DiE on sos? HoD > BG > SoS? Bandwagon guild. Nothing wrong with that, perhaps our medium sized guild will move to SoS too (replace with current top server), see you there.
