I just wish JQ and BG had some decent Havoc groups. The ones I’ve ran across just die too easily.
Spank master here. Come play during oz/sea timezone.
‘Havoc’ groups usually means small groups, not 40+.
No idea about night-capping, I don’t play NA prime time.
I’m on SoR oceanic prime time… I have rarely seen any queues when I’m on. The commanders though are pretty organised and manage to hop from map to map when needed to support our forces.
When I think about the lack of queues and where SoR actually sits, I’m pretty amazed at the obvious skill and dedication that goes into it.
Go go Lorthos, go go all you wonderful commanders.

Not specifically looking to win. Just want a competitive 3 server scenario.
For one team to completely dominate, it will ruin the game in the long run. I can’t see BG, SoR or anyone else coming close to JQ (note: it’s early Tue and they are 30k+ ahead already, not due to skill, based on coverage).
Wouldn’t want to obliterate JQ either, just create a more balanced conflict.
This is not a gripe at JQ… we all play the game for enjoyment (or at least I hope so).
(edited by akanibbles.6237)
Look at what the most recent tranfers to both BG (when SoS sank) and SoR (with their new SEA and Oceanic guilds) have done to curb JQs dominance…
Almost nothing.
That is because of dropouts… if the trend continues, there will be more outmanned flags all over the place. The coverage holes will grow until JQ are alone = result (I guess).
People lose interest when even the mundane tasks become difficult against 20+ escorts/campers.
At least this gives hope to T2 servers, they can jump into T1.
(edited by akanibbles.6237)
In all honesty, if I see a large group of BG, I have my fingers crossed my SoR group will pass each other by.
This is because the real target is JQ for the future of the game. There is no benefit BG v SoR. I do hope the majority realises this and we can move away from the 20+ yak escorts JQ puts out whilst camping supply camps with 20+ and siege etc…
Only together do BG and SoR have any hope of toppling the behemoth of JQ.

How did they manage to travel at super speed during last nights battle (SEA time)? Saw a couple of JQ being able to run at high speed (like the speed of a rocket), but I’m not sure what trait/skill allowed them to do that? I thought the fastest profession was thief, but they traveled a lot faster than that.
Interested to know, as it looks a powerful ability.
Simple solution. Put a cap on the number of non-NA players allowed on any one NA server based on a +/- percentage of the total number of non-NA players on NA servers with the objective of fairly balancing the the population of non-NA players across all the NA servers to make game play more competitive 7/24.
News Just In: Developers have taken on this suggestion but have decided to cap NA instead.
What? Don’t like being marginalised? But the world revolves around NA!
Don’t like it, well don’t do it. Everyone has a right to play without restrictions.
I agree that the original post is dumb, but these are NA servers…
But the NA servers are intended to support all none EU zones, not just NA. They are just called NA for ease of recognition.
what queue? I’m in T1 and there aren’t any?
There are many bad commanders… don’t join their number.
Spend more time watching commanders and you’ll quickly see what separates a good commander from a bad one. You don’t want people seeing your ID and thinking “what a di..”
Though I do know a commander who purposely got the zerg to build a couple of golems, then him and a mate proceeded to fight wildlife outside a keep they didn’t own.
Does the score mean anything? All anyone wants is competition and occasionally the fresh challenge of a different server.
P.s. Someone needs to fix thieves, they are so underpowered. Needs perma might and Fury buffs.
I’m in SEA and ran pingplotter, which consistently showed packet loss. The packet loss was beyond my ISP though and usually between ‘Los Angeles’ and ‘Dallas’. This loss was between 10% and 50% most of the time.
So what is the best way to avoid skill lag? What positive action can be taken from a client point of view?
TC in tier 1!!!!! They’re just a bunch of pirates. Salty ones at that.
SOMEONE 5v5 us tonight stop zerg fighting!
Go do sPvP 5v5 then, this isn’t PVP so stop pretending it is.
GMT +10 (give or take a few)… your time is now. Make a difference, join SoR today.
As good as it might sound, I like the way it is as it’s more ‘authentic’.
One major problem with wars of old was maintaining discipline and trying to stop an army from pillaging and plundering, and therefore becoming less organised.
I also like the idea of booby trapped ‘loot’ (another aspect of warfare). That shiny could take your finger off.
I thought all servers are located in Texas… lncluding EU????
So it doesn’t matter if you pick EU or NA, they sit next to each other.
Don’t kid yourself or anyone else, BG probably has more people than JQ, if not more than at least equal. Half those people moving to BG need to man up and go to SOR instead.
Not to SoR, we are all leaving SoR and moving to BG (SoR will be empty).
Here’s what I would do if I were on SoR/SoS; When SoR or BG are capable of putting up a 695 PPT against JQ, i’d remember those JQ members who posted in here and troll them like crazy if they had the audacity to complain. Of course, first you’ll have to be able to muster a 695 PPT. About that…
Where is the fun in a one-sided fight? Why would any server want to score 695?
Hope you guys are enjoying total coverage, the gameplay must be amazing. XD
Jade Quarry achieved something today. To the Commanders leading us and the soldiers sacrificing their lives to make it happen… it doesn’t make it any less of an achievement. We’re not bragging, or showing off… we’re patting one another on the back… because this was a team effort.. and there is no I in team.
Funny, there’s no I in Zerg either.
Honestly, from an oceanic point of view, well done for outnumbering us. It was a winning position.
Look at the NA tiers on http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA and you can clearly see that all but one matchup is over – and it’s only halfway through the week.
Game over.
To roam around in a huge zerg ball, getting the best from culling for maximum effect, and farming honor badges and events etc…
So easy just to follow the pack, you don’t need to know what you are doing either – it’s fun and predictable. There is no PvP element to really worry about.
Ask a friendly mesmer to port you out. Worth a try- I have seen it work.
I’ve reached that point… GW2 had so much potential, but I can’t play the unplayable.
Sick of respawning only to die without any chance of actually fighting.
I’ve been playing regularly since September… the game has slowly got worse with each patch.
This is happening every day… I’m at the point of giving up on trying to play the game. Maybe new content might keep people interested, but the game mechanics currently suck.
Sooooo disappointed.
The game appears broken to me, far too laggy to be playable.
My spec is i5 3570k OC, 8GB ram, 250GB SSD, Radeon HD7800 series GPU.
My internet connection is ADSL2+
The game is unplayable as the actions all just flash and nothing happens for a few seconds, before maybe something happens. I can’t even weapon switch or anything.
This is at it’s worst in WvW with a few players in the same area.
F A I L * * * F A I L * * * F A I L * * * F A I L * * * F A I L * * * F A I L * * * F A I L * * *
In the attached image I went through all the actions 1-5 and they just kept flashing. I then tried to weapon switch, and couldn’t. Nothing responded and I was eventually killed – couldn’t even dodge.
New math: Score divided by population on map.
As it stands, looks like Sorrow’s Furnace are going to be the team to beat next match-up (by a nice margin).
Good luck guys.
Edit: the ‘nice margin’ bit refers to how well you are doing, not regarding the next round (I re-read and saw that it might be read wrong).
(edited by akanibbles.6237)
Are you all sitting in the JP? I know when I can’t find anyone, that is the first place to look.
+1 to daily matchups next week.
I’m not convinced it will level out any faster than it is already (from a NA server point of view).
Done badly… this may even drag out unbalanced matchups.
Hmmm…
New ratings math will be based on population and it’s effectiveness in battle.
Not sure if this has been already raised….
My condition build thief often ends up perma-snared and unable to move during combat. I believe the cause of this is due to coming close to being downed or getting downed and then instant rallying (though there is no mention of ‘rally’), as the blue icon is permanently displayed (‘fight to survive’).
The only way to break out of the perma-snare is to either use a skill that teleports, or use a waypoint.
Hi mate, my oceanic guild is on SoR, I just moved from Crystal Desert to join with then again (we scouted out many servers, as we were leaving SBI). SoR has strong WvW and PvE support, especially in oceanic time zones (the reason my guild went there). Anyhow, you are more than welcome to join us on SoR.
Good luck… I know it can be a hard decision.
Downunder [DU] is a relatively small casual oceanic PvX guild located on SoR.
We are looking for like-minded mature players for dungeons, general PvE, FotM, WvW, sPvP, and of course fun.
Our members are active game players and play other games are well as GW2, being part of the gaming community Downunder. We like to have fun, help each other out and generally socialise as we are gaming together.
We use Teamspeak, though it isn’t mandatory.
Check our web site – duguild.com
or whisper an officer in-game:
Deep Cutts, Sir Zoro, Nightingale Hawkeye
Yeah, obviously they don’t know either how it all works. :P
Just get in there, run round, do what you need to do, and get out. You don’t have to get involved… just run fast.
“my character is at 97% world completion” – they’ve not experienced WvW, so 97% is enough.
Thanks ANet, this means a lot. I’m very happy now.
Many of our guild members have managed to join us.
Stuck at work, how long do you think it will stay at ‘Very High’???
:)
In order to move to a server with some effective AU prime time cover, we’d need to know population coverage for all servers during this time. Seeing populations of High, Very High, Medium bares no resemblance to actual game play.
There are too many servers with little to no AU prime time coverage (they seem to all be on specific servers).
It’s fun when there is lots going on, but not when you are running around the map from a zerg, with nothing else worth doing.
I see WvW as a resource capture and hold game, this is almost impossible in most tiers due to one-sided fights. One server has AU prime time cover and the other two don’t.
Makes the game very boring, when it could be so much more. 1v1 doesn’t interest me, its securing objectives as a group/server and holding them.
Maybe my understand of WvW is wrong and really it’s just a PvP arena, nothing more.
(edited by akanibbles.6237)
You never know, no matter how many times you troll.
It’s the design of the game… to get the best out of WvW you need other people to play with. Empty maps don’t work.
Balance is the biggest issue here, it’s non-existent. Paid transfers won’t fix it either.
no, escape from a server with no-one on it…they have all moved to Blackgate – the bandwagon server.
It could be…that’s just an assumption of mine. Most servers I have looked at have no-one on at our time.
The other servers though, do they have any coverage in our AU prime time or is it a ghost town then?
Who wants to play on their own in an MMO?
The only ones I can think of that have anything but a ghost town are:-
Kaineng
Fort Aspenwood
Sanctum of Rall
Sea of Sorrows
Jade Quarry
Crystal Desert
Any others?
For me it’s just a question of people wanting to group up and play collectively rather than going out as lone wolves on an empty map.
(edited by akanibbles.6237)
If they expand the cap, it will let people in, if they then reduce the cap it just means people won’t be able to transfer until the cap is no longer reached.
I’m not sure if blackouts work, or it’s just coincidence that people are transferring off around the same time.
If ANet don’t do something this will have a big negative affect for many fragmented guilds.
