Can’t complain after tonight. Some solid oceanic guild transfers on NSP now providing good coverage. Very happy to be having fun again (after moving from SoR). NSP is going places (and not being flooded with zerker pve karma train passengers – sorry HoD).

people are taking it easier this week ahead of the impending chaos next week.

…and I would add, there are more on during oceanic prime time than was on SoR a week or so back.

what happened to paying less gems to moved down than to move up?

I actually transferred to NSP a few days ago. It does not have the highest oceanic coverage, but it does have coverage. Kind of what I was after really.

Oceanic is a funny time zone, as you tend to only get all or nothing with regards to coverage. Thanks anyhow to all those who posted. Some good points there.

Aren’t both EU and NA servers based in Texas? Why a latency difference?

I left SoR, sad as it was. I’m only 1 person and saw a rapid decline as guilds went off to find greater numbers to bring the fight to BG/JQ. I’m talking in general of the oceanic prime time here (can’t comment on any other).

I’d just like to say that SoR is still a great server and will bounce back. They have strong guilds like GSCH who are in it for the long run. While I was on the server I didn’t experience any negative attitudes.

Good luck SoR, may you grow strong again.

Look for you? among the horde? It will be like looking for a few particular drops of water in the ocean. :P

You should definitely check out NSP fine sir. If you want more PVDoor/Map Queues, check HoD… but to get back to the fun, ‘edge of your seat’, ‘against all odds’, ‘squeaky bum cheekiness’, and above all laughter… GET TO NSP NOW!!!!

Would be good to know the balance between oceanic/sea and na.

Looking at a potential server transfer, and wondering which of the FREE servers has good oceanic coverage?

I must say it is sad to see all of my friends go from SoR, I had a lot of good times and met a lot of amazing people over the last 18 months. I stopped playing GW2 shortly after the new year, and I guess it’s for the best because the memories I have left are of the good times fighting alongside the Oceanic crew. I would follow Rai, Green Arrow, Nirmuu and Sarhill into battle any kitten day of the week. Gonna miss you guys, not just the leader in WvW, but the people of those guilds, hopefully our paths cross again in the future.

PPT or playing for fights… didn’t matter during SEA time as we’d often be trying to get out from the citadel as a small group (as that’s all we could muster) and would quickly meet a zerg from either of the other servers. They’d use scouts (and rightly so)… and even though we’d be a small group of <10, we’d be hit by 40+ zerg. That wouldn’t be too bad, but the general lag in the game made it all the more frustrating and seemingly pointless.

Still, ESO, Wildstar, Elite Dangerous are all around the corner. GW2 lives on I guess.

Most WvW guilds have left for TC and JQ. Now means that WvW is balanced and everything will settle down to some exciting matches which could go either way.

It was 2v1, we’ve been targeting JQ. 3rd always targets 2nd and vice-versa – so 1st can win easy.

The SoR master plan is on track.

Don’t be so closed minded. You think we should cancel baseball because a high school team cannot defeat a major league team? They just need to make adjustments to who belongs in what division and then it will be fun for everyone. I cannot believe anyone would suggest that we just scrub divisions and let the major league players play against high school. Its just plain silly. Divisions are necessary to keep games fair and fun. How many high school teams would exist if they had to face major league teams half the time?

WvW isn’t baseball… where they generally have an equal number of players in each team (I can’t imagine it making a difference which league you play in baseball if you only had half as many players as other teams).

Enjoyed Season 1: Mixed, regardless of PPT… when there has been an ‘even’ match – Yes, when it’s been a total one-sided event (either way) – No.
Should we have season 2?: Need the matches to be closer (not specifically talking about PPT, put this can obviously determines numbers)

BG or JQ are the places to go for PPT (number 1 and 2 servers).

T1? It doesn’t exists anymore. Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Many on SoR are taking a break (at least from an oceanic point of view), burnt out from trying to fight against overwhelming forces, failing to raise forces over multiple BLs at the same time. We have been BL hopping for a long time and it’s taken it’s toll.

Still a break is a good time to recharge our batteries and I expect people will come back to the fight when they are refreshed.

I had fun last night. I hope I offered enough resistance to the 60+ JQ mob that kept attacking me in open combat (i do hope you all got enough damage on me to get your bag, not sure how it works 60v1). Perma-stuns are all the fun whilst I waited to be stomped – then off to the next sentry you all went leaving my lonely body behind. The fun you guys must be having.

Later whilst trying to take ‘your’ tower, I was spotted by a scout. The game was up as the 60+ mob came to save to the day again. More bags, I felt like santa.

TC gets my vote.

I thought Jade Quarry would have pushed you more. Still we all know where to go to be on the winning server.

Result is meaningless unless each team has spent an equal time as GREEN.

Increase warrior mobility too, maybe teleport where the arrow lands?

what if a server has more players during what you think of as non-prime time… is this the prime time for that server?

Have a new power (or defensive) ‘buff’ based on current server wvw population balance.
(format is sum of other servers balance % – 50)

Scenario #1
Server X 45% = buff at +5% (30 + 25 – 50)
Server Y 30% = buff at +20% (45 + 25 – 50)
Server Z 25% = buff at +25% (45 + 30 – 50)

Scenario #2
Server X 90% = debuff at -40%
Server Y 8% = buff at +42%
Server Z 2% = buff at +48%

Scenario #3
Server X 45% = buff at +5%
Server Y 35% = buff at +15%
Server Z 20% = buff at +30%

Scenario #4
Server X 34% = buff at +16%
Server Y 33% = buff at +17%
Server Z 33% = buff at +17%

All PVE’ers to BG now… where WvW is easy and the server-wide buffs are semi-permanent. Stack, stack, stack.

Avoid the zerg, make the whole wvw map a jumping puzzle.

If it’s RED it’s dead (or I am).

Maybe if ANET offered 500 gold for transfers to lower populated servers, this would counter the effects of BG etc.

…and you should only be able to join a server that is below a certain threshold in your timezone. You perhaps have to select a timezone to enjoy buffs in this period. hmmm.
