•Taimi, I would have had her be a healthy little arsuran child up until Escape from Lion’s Arch. During that update I would have had her talk Braham into letting her come into the city to “study” the drill. When Braham turns his attention from her for one second, a piece of debris falls on her, crushing her legs. Braham’s guilt and Taimi having to learn to live with her condition would have been excellent character building opportunities.
•Jory and Kas, Jory getting knocked back and possibly killed while Kas runs in to avenge her was wonderful. However, I would have had Kas take a killing blow for the player character and Jory wake, permanently scarred, and call her name right as she is hit and killed.

No, it sounds like a typical “look how grimdark we can be” gratuitous dramafest which young people routinely mistake for good writing. Makes me glad Anet’s writers are adults, not emo teenagers who are obsessed with misery and death.

I can’t agree with this at all. The greatest literature has such ‘drama’ and ‘dark’ undertones. What they gave was twlight-like bubblgush. Mind numbing drivel to the end.

Two: Yea, that wasn’t the best. But near the end the emotion was at least there, that poor child, so scared. Prophecies was the best one though.
Three: Yes, yes I still do. The living story needs a lot of work. (Only the living story. Most of the other stories were fine. Just this darn living story, it’s so rushed and painfully forced. To clear up what I mean by forced, is there is little to it. So cut and dry.)

Like I’ve said in another thread. I write for fun and for a multi user dungeon based on D&D, so I expect more for this game. GW1 main story lines were good and they did the best they could back then with what they had (I think a lot of people over look the story and focus on the graphics) I just expected so much more after all the years of waiting on this game. Just so much more. And that is the last I have to say on this topic.

The OP simply expressed his dislikes about the UNEQUALITY of the situation, he points out that the two stated couples are in the spotlight while traditional couples are under the radar.

But what is even more hilarious is the amount of hypocrites (I’m not claiming that you are, but I know there are plenty.) that will gladly support these homosexual couples for the sole reason that they are both female only. I have every right to be as critical as I please. The living story overly lacks any real depth, it seems as if it was tossed together in a sloppy attempt to keep people from fully quitting the game. Give them something to wait for, no matter how low key. GW1 had much more thought in my opinion, the writing wasn’t sloppy and Twilight like.

Mine does not, they terrify the living hell out of him. They turn into full on panic attacks, I lock up and can not breathe, there have been happenings of where I have blacked out/passed out whathaveyou. I mean, lovely, other people have it less frightening, some find it cute. Great, good on them. But it is wrong for anyone to try and make my opinion on it seem any less important.

I’m all for romance in video games. We’ve had this Kas & Mar discussion many, many times before on various topics so I’ll try to concise. K&M feels too forced, too .. non-subtle. Shoehorned. Especially the last few updates where their romance has surely not been a mystery to anyone who watches their dialogue. I don’t need my romancing Guild Wars NPC’s to rub my face in it. Koss & Meloni was a good example. So was Mhenlo & Cynn. (Now THERE’S a romance that was funny to watch and wasn’t too cheesy!)

And I’m sorry if I’m a bit of a Grinch here, since the OP seems pretty sincere. But I’m just not feeling it.

Koss and Mel were great but Mhenlo and Cynn take the cake! Their story was amazing to watch!

That wasn’t a romance. It was just sexual. There was almost no actual romantic interaction other then petnames & “I care about you baby” dialog. At least Koss & Melonni actually had sexual tension denial, dealing with pride, conflict & acceptance. Romance isn’t just two people who like to do it, it’s complex. all this “what a great love story”… I have no idea what it’s based on.

Here here! Indeed. I’m willing to bet a few of the people who are falling all over it are only looking at the aspect that it is a same gender relationship. There is to be praise about that and that is alright, BUT; it was poorly written and so forced that it doesn’t deserve being called a great love story. Because as you and others have stated, it wasn’t some romantic love, it was forced sexual.. lust in my thinking.

It makes me sad, as someone who writes for the love of it.
And please, let me stress to everyone else. I didn’t like it because it lacked real depth, it had nothing to do with it being two women. My character is a woman(I’m a woman), Mister Buns’ (My male other half) character is a woman and I write stories about their life and adventures… they are two women, married. But.. it’s normal. None of my stuff is forced and tossed into a shoehorn of lust and watered down petnames.

I’m sorry, but as someone who writes (and rather well I am told) for Roleplay D&D based MUDs as well as my own entertainment…… I am disappointed in their story. It felt forced and rather cliche. 4/10 would not bother watching/reading ever again.

It’s funny you mention swimsuits, as someone who started making more conservative swimsuits gets her inventory sold out quickly due to significant demand. Societies don’t go through a straight line from conservative to liberal. It’s a sine wave – and feminists these days split on the subject – is it empowering to be wearing skimpy clothes/showing the female form or is it demeaning because that’s what we’re expected to do and get ogled at if we do so?

but yeah, I said some people’s. I was mainly pointing out that it is rather extreme in comparison to other armor sets that they have made. It pushes mine because it shows the fronts of the breasts to the point where it would show “tips” if it weren’t for the blue shinies on the human and Norn sets. Note: Showing “tips” is considered indecent exposure here in the US. There isn’t a swimsuit that would be able to be worn publicly with that amount of skimp on the breasts.

@Kopper: It would be nice for it just to be the smidgest of smidgest more conservative because some of us are uncomfortable and/or find it distasteful with all that is showing in the chest area. This is by far the skimpiest armor in that area. I think all other armor sets look perfectly fine. This one just pushes it a smidge too far. Just a few mm more cloth and I’d be 100% cool with it (still wouldn’t buy it, though because the blue goes with none of my characters).

Your picture shows much more how prudish male armor is designed (light). Look at all the woman skin and compare it to the fully covered ugly male armor.

I think this armor is gorgeous as is and hope it remains in the game, unchanged.

However, I would also love it if the artists made a separate “reskin” of the non-Zodiac parts of the Light Armor, but with alterations to the chest (maybe something like the Human T3 Light Chest) and shoes without the curls. the non-Zodiac parts remind me of Oracles or Priestesses and that’s what I’ve wanted to dress my Elementalist in for many months now. =D

Have you tried taking caffeine pills or Dramamine? It helps my friend who gets bad motion sickness from playing video games. I can’t remember which one she tried that worked the best but it helped her a lot.

I can’t have caffeine (Heart palpitations when I do) but I’ll look into the dramamine. I’ve had chronic migraines for almost my whole life, so whenever I played, things were dimmed anyways. Thanks to magnesium I do not suffer as I once did, but this armour seemed to kick it right in, darn my hypersensitivity to near everything these days. Heh. It’s fine for me, I just turn the brightness so so low. I just wanted them to know, encase someone with more serious problems could have a severe sensitivity to it.

Devs, honestly it triggers migraines for myself. Since my beloved, darling other half has bought it, I have to turn my brightness to the lowest setting or the eye sore that is his newly beloved armour sends me into a fit of migraine pains. If they could dye the blue, that would be great. Until then, I’m going to be sadly be playing on low low brightness to where it’s hard to see at times…or not playing.

There is an acute OCD tick as well, but I can see to ignore it. Things being set off center.

You are literally making things up and completely ignoring evidence to the contrary. It’s not sculpted anything. The armor turns your character’s skin blue. I posted the proof in image form, you can see where I overlapped two screenshots of the same character with and without it. There is no change in physical proportions to prove your claim that it’s something added over top of the character’s body. At all.

As far as the multiplication of nipples is concerned, I see two. Have you even looked at it in game? It’s pretty obvious there too.

Manipulated screenshots =/= proof. I’ve been toying with my camera on my Mesmer, trying to figure out what you’re allegedly seeing and still can’t make them show up. I managed to get ONE of those white swirls in the armor to line up “correctly” and look like your screenshot, but that’s not a nipple.

It’s called selective perception.

Here’s the raw screenshot, just to put any more fears to rest over me faking it. Save it, zoom in on your own.

As a woman and with lots of medical knowledge, I can say : Nipples are not that high, even on surgically doctored chests (Unless there is some serious misplacement or serious issue as to why they can not be placed back into their normal location.)

Breasts do not have a symmetrical circular shape and are not that high on the chest. Boobs cannot be supported by the small amount of cloth/metal/etc that is used and it’s placement.
You know what? It doesn’t change that they still have done it this way and people are putting down the ones who are critical about it as “prudes” when it is simply about human anatomy.
But hey, you’re surely gonna say “it’s fantasy, boobs are allowed to defy physics”… facepalm

Did you notice that, several of the people claiming to see “nipples” have also stated that they’ve had to do things such as turn off post-processing or otherwise limit their graphics in order for the “nipples” to show up?

As well as use model skins and such. Looking for those nips hard, aren’t they? Lol!
Perception is everything, isnt(I can’t put an ’ in there or it turns to kitten… what?) it? Oh man.. I’m going to need another cuppa to handle these complaints.

It would’ve been better if it was black, but showing the face would totally ruin the outfit -_-

I see where the added glare and the texture seem to make an odd circle, like the glare was going to go there but was moved yet no one removed the original glare spot. If this is a nipple.. well.. lol, someone at Anet hasn’t had real experiences with actual nipples, because what I’m seeing would be grossly over done. lol!

It would’ve been better if it was black, but showing the face would totally ruin the outfit -_-

As for the nipples, here are screenies of my character.. I’m wary of highlighting them coz of infraction (but it’s so easy to see them, even through aegis). :/ Its not that i don’t like it, I bought it didn’t I? I just wish they didn’t include the nips and that they fix the phantasms.

It’s also really weird but for some reason the light version has normals for the areola but not the actual nipples. The medium has both, and the heavy is partially covered but you can still make out areolas.

Actually if you tilt the camera a bit..

It’s not even painted skin. It’s a sculpted material that covers the vast majority of the character’s actual flesh, just like that Batman and Robin armor I posted.

Also, why is it, that in every picture you’ve posted claiming that this armor shows nipples, the character only has ONE?

You are literally making things up and completely ignoring evidence to the contrary. It’s not sculpted anything. The armor turns your character’s skin blue. I posted the proof in image form, you can see where I overlapped two screenshots of the same character with and without it. There is no change in physical proportions to prove your claim that it’s something added over top of the character’s body. At all.

As far as the multiplication of nipples is concerned, I see two. Have you even looked at it in game? It’s pretty obvious there too.

Manipulated screenshots =/= proof. I’ve been toying with my camera on my Mesmer, trying to figure out what you’re allegedly seeing and still can’t make them show up. I managed to get ONE of those white swirls in the armor to line up “correctly” and look like your screenshot, but that’s not a nipple.

As a woman and with lots of medical knowledge, I can say : Nipples are not that high, even on surgically doctored chests (Unless there is some serious misplacement or serious issue as to why they can not be placed back into their normal location.)

I’m sorry, you are just reaching with these statements and ‘proof’.

As a woman who is extremely modest(Almost to the point of being labeled prudish at times), yet very feminine in her choice of fashion(Example: One, Two.) and I still do not really see the issue with this armour set. Sure is seems to show a lot more, but the fact of the matter is that it is fabric. It is a skin tight fabric that does cling and smooth around the edges. Ladies, we get this affect when we wear leggings and yoga pants, do we not? Sure men might pant and swoon over such bits of clothing but we aren’t showing off skin or private parts, now are we? No, not really. That is the case here, it’s just fabric. Now if the blue area wasn’t fabric I’d be slightly bothered due to the fact that the other fabric line is below the lowest part of the female areola line. But, that being said, I just wouldn’t personally buy it is all. When you look at real life, if a woman is dressed inappropriately that is on her and not me. It doesn’t effect me whatsoever. Yes I may think she is under dressed and slightly resembling a lady of the evening, but that doesn’t effect me personally.

I’m sure an iron fist feminist would disagree with my outlook. Yes I understand the idea that SOME men(Absolutely not all) overly sexualize women but the truth is a lot of women over sexualize themselves as well. No one is innocent in society when it comes to that aspect.

Now for what I think needs to be done with the armour, well I believe you should be able to dye the blue part. I understand what Anet was going for with this set but I’m sure a lot more people would be happy if they could dye it to their liking. This is Guild Wars 2 but it is also Fashion Wars 2.

PS. I would really love some evil queen types of light armour. Long ballgowns, waist clinchers and whatnot. That would be lovely! Elegance is what I’m after, darlin’!

Not to involve myself in the forum warrioring, but IoJ/RUN guild, why are you exploiting and trebbing us at NE tower from your spawn?

its not actually an exploit, its placed in an area where siege can be placed. It may not work on all the borderlands but just maybe the green one. Across the path from the eastern vendors by the stone wall, theres an area there without a siege lock on it. Its not an exploit, an opportunistic move instead.

So it’s a map exploit then, just like the invuln areas. Thank you for the answer. It’s extremely sad that members of IoJ needs to resort to these kinds of things instead of actually fighting it out but I suppose you’re going to justify it to yourself one way or another.

No one really cares, at this point in the game… no one cares anymore.

some of the responses to your post give a clue that some of [mend]s leadership has serious “issues”. maybe you should have stuck with “I dont get all of this” and not posted that which you dont know jack about.

I personally wasnt involved with any of the [mend] falling out, and miss many of my friends who went with [mend] to IoJ. To this day I think the [mend] rank and file made the wrong choice, but everyone has to find their own way. I wish them the best.

But while I got along with flappy and ran with him, he was very poisonous to the environment on HoD. He and some other members of [mend] were kittens to many people. And rank and file like me people who just wanted to make HoD a better place suffered for it. In the end, the departure flappy and other leaders was like having a terminal illness cured. We would never have had the success we have had if he and other [mend] leadership did not leave HoD.

Other than honeybun’s post-first-learn-second idiocy I have nothing but respect for IoJ and am enjoying our match.
