Same. Happened twice when i clicked on AC.
This was really poorly communicated. I certainly hope they give an official response on this.
Fix the stupid pickup bug that prevents you from using skills. Not Being able to attack and not knowing why is pretty annoying.
The new drop rates are terrible. I much prefer the chances of drops I had before. The worst is yet to come for you. Finish a few fractal 49 runs (dredge and all) and you might pick up that non infused ring at the end. That’s like an extra 4s for your troubles!
I’ve run all 3 ac paths in 45 minutes with a pug group. I can spend over an hour just on dredge with a pug. Then finish with the molten duo just to earn that non infused ring bonus.
I loved pushing myself to do fractals before, but the updates really took the enjoyment (rewards) out of it. They were quick to improve dredge so you couldn’t run it any faster than intended. Not so quick to listen to comments about rewards.
This is one of the most annoying bugs of all time. Some good quality of life fix needs to be implemented here. Nothing is more annoying then doing an event trying to do your best and all of your skills are bugged/not responding. You can’t even press ‘f’ or right click to revive people.
Has anyone confirmed that clones dying when your target steaths is a bug or it’s intended?
I see what happened. When the target goes steathed. Who in the world implements changes without talking to the rest of the community?
I WvW occasionally when I have time. My friends mainly PvE and I enjoy running through dungeons with them more than joining a zerg of people I don’t know. That being said, I don’t mind the PvP aspect and I enjoy WvW occasionally on my own. After a year my main is still rank 12.
I think if you need a requirement for gift of battle, rank 10 should be good enough to have players experience the essence of battle.
If you need to put a rank 30 requirement on something, please put it on commander tags. Force people to have learned how to work together, before they’re even allowed to buy a tag.
I just tried to recreate this. I can still call phants/clones and veil and walk away but they don’t die. Are you certain this happens consistently?
Good points there.
I agree, it would be nice for the marionette after a platform broke a regulator to have the option to burn down the wall (yeah takes time, but it’s better than watching things go horribly wrong) to be able to assist (range at least) into another platform. Even if it was just to throw banner in.
Sitting there, over an hour, waiting for the event to start in an overflow. Just before it starts there’s a random message saying I’ve lost connection or something like that. Happened twice already. Can’t get back in, left all alone in my own little overflow.
Happened to my friend as well. We weren’t even afk, moving and typing to people on the map.
This makes me more than sad. I don’t.. want … to .. use.. bad words…
We killed it in overflow, and it was just a mixture of people talking on TS. The concept is really really easy, just as long as people are willing to work together. There is a requirement with the number of people, but as long as people use their brains to read descriptions, everything is there. Less than 24 hours to beat this. Teql was much harder to work out.
Edit: The wurm is obviously harder requiring a lot more co-ordination. The idea of how to beat it was out on the forums after a few attempts. As people collaborate what they know, a solid plan will emerge out of the community.
Too bad people give up easily without trying to work out their problems. I’m sure if you keep at it you’ll get it. Like riding a bike.

Same Eredon Terrace. The pirate on the beach is missing. No one to rez.
With everyone focused on the impending nerfs, I wanted to highlight and even bigger problem for mesmers. The lack of variety of optimal sigils for our class to use.
From previously mentioned threads we do roughly the same damage in PvE as other classes when we get up to 2 phantasms. We do have a bit of warm up time (better if you blow your new heal) and from what people say maintaining phantasms still isn’t consistent so our damage fluctuates.
With our damage spread out amongst phantasms (even if I assume each is doing a 3rd of the damage) sigils such as superior sigil of the night, force, accuracy only provide us with a fraction (and in my assumed example a 3rd) of the benefit.
We’ve been getting the short stick end of the stick all this time. Time for an anology. If each player bought a nice shiny new lcd monitor, but after buying mesmers were told that they could only use 1/3rd to see?
I understand each class needs to be balanced, but at least make sigils and runes with dmg work for everything we have. The alternative is to go tell the Warriors that thier sigil of force will work 66 less now on all thier main skills. See what kind of reactions that gets.
So stand up my brothers and sisters. Let us be heard!
I was referencing solo queue. Though hot join is just a mess, solo queue should have been planned better. It’s currently all too similar to hotjoin.
+1.
I’m afraid to go back into solo q. it feels like at least half my games are like this. this is WAY too common a problem. Why does it feel like things aren’t properly thought through?
Since the Phantasms inherit the caster’s Precision score, and aren’t effected by +crit chance stat modifiers (limiting our options to boost dps), will the upcoming changes moving crit damage to a similar ferocity stat begin to limit us even more?
I hate starting a Solo Queue game with only 4v5. It’s just a struggle. They should just disband the game after the timer goes down, give a penalty to the person who doesn’t join, and start again. Or just queue people based on ‘elo’ and make it first come first server if possible. Like clicking to exit overflow servers to get into the main flow.
If you’re dueling (and it’s a hard match up versus a PU mesmer) my advice is. Take your time.
If you’re not attacking, he’s not doing a lot of damage. The only phantasm (clone) you should be worried about, is a pistol one. You can basically ignore the rest and his poke damage while you sit back and watch to make sure you know who is the real one.
The hardest time I have with a Necro is when they manage to land their ‘fear’ on me, quickly followed with condition spike and another fear for that super long, never ending fear…
I’m also always worried about being hit with ‘chill’. The super long cool downs hurt.
1) How about we keep with the helpful mesmer forum community thing. There are a lot of great mesmers and everyone is just trying to give good advice. There is no absolutes, because if you can read between the lines it all depends.
2) Currently, if your group is organized, high dps (meaning know the content well, co-ordinated, and can burn down bosses before they pose any problems) then just go with the mantra build. This all depends on your group. You can be max dps and be very good, but if your whole party wipes and you end up soloing. Your traits don’t make up for the dps of 4 other people. Just mathematically it can’t.
3) If you don’t have a steady group, or like myself, tend to run with friends who are new to the game, then the Phantasm build is a lot more flexible for utility. You take longer, but keep your friends alive making them happier and willing to run the content again.
4) Just try both builds. Unless you have a time constraint to improve and become an expert at a certain build. Nothing stops you from trying both builds in all the major dungeons and high level fractals. Experience will teach you more than just numbers.
Good luck.
This isn’t just a rare drop for me, It feels very much like 50% of the time I finish a level 49 fractal only to get an uninfused ring. Even with the old fractals after a certain level since you needed AR to proceed you would at the very least have infused rings that dropped when rings actually dropped.
This is just a disappointment to see every time. Will this ever be fixed?
This has always been the case for stacking sigil.
I’ve been waiting forever for the bank tabs and slots to go on sale. The early sales were such a disappointment. But, thanks for finishing strong! Much love for the extra space!
I’m glad we chose this. This sounds so cool.
If you have to merge +1’s with a material that costs coin, this means that +1 can’t be used to increase the AR in an item directly, otherwise people would just keep using +1’s.
So how does it increase? Will players have to choose between keeping the +1’s building up and deciding when to replace the AR upgrade, or will they be able to increase what’s already in the item?
- Can you craft something t increase what’s already there, like using +1s to craft an upgrade that increases the the current AR in the item instead replacing it?
- Do you have to make a new one and completely replace what’s already there each time you want to increase it?
It’s like when one upgrades armor pieces. Buying new ones on each level is a waste, people usually improve every 5-10 levels or so, unless they got got better ones from drops. But unlike armor that drops all over the place and is cheap in th trading post, +1s won’t be as common.
If players can’t increase what’s already in the item, they will be forced to choose between using them as soon as they have built a better one, or keep saving 1’s before using them.
“Do I upgrade this 5 with a +6 right now, or do I keep it and improve it until I get a +10?” that’s and annoying hassle that adds a component of regret to it. Makes it feel like all you previously build up will be wasted. It’ll be better if there was a way to improve what’ already there.
So… how does it work?
I was waiting to hear an answer about this. I really dislike this whole idea that whatever work you do will be erased because you need to decide if you want to progress. If it cost about 2+g to get a +5 AR infusion to drop in the new slot, every time you over-write you’re just adding to the cost. So, yes won’t it be better to save indefinitely until they decide to unlock higher levels of fractals?
So we’re still waiting on some clarification. I’m just voicing my concern about the new upgrade process.
Ascended items already cost A LOT to produce. Time gated and huge money sink.
Fractal rewards don’t offset that at all. It’s only been useful for helping balance out the Karma loss from buying shards.
If the new upgrade process requires more of those Thermo Regeants then to support your desire to grind/level fractals you’ll need to find ways to earn gold on top of working on saving +AR drops.
If each infusion over-writes the previous one, erasing your previous work because you can’t reuse +AR infusions then the process just became exponentially more expensive.
From what I understand and I know people are getting tired of seeing the same things:
- Ascended item without AR infusion = unchanged
-Ascended Ring or Back Piece WITH AR infusion (+5 AR in stat) has the AR removed from stats and replaced with an AR infusion in a new AR infusion slot.
I think the valid question that hasn’t been answered yet, is how will the upgrades be moving forward based on what is in the slot?
If I start with a newly converted ring with an open infusion slot and the new 5 AR infusion, does that mean I need to collect AR infusions (1 per fractal?) separately until I’ve collected enough (and spent the gold for that horrible thermo agent) to create an additional +5 AR infusion which I’ll be able to re-combine with the one currently sitting in the new AR infusion slot to upgrade to a +6 AR infusion?
or
Each time I replace, just like with upgrade components (runes/sigils) the old one is destroyed and gone? So I start with a +5 I need to save/make a +6 to replace, but if I replace it I will lose the +5 and it will happen again when I need to replace the +6?
This sounds like a really really expensive upgrade process. Are fractal rewards being bumped up to offset the investment involved in doing this?
I still have tokens… Can we use them still? Are they wasted?
The update fixed it. Mine works again.
Same, good thing someone posted here. I was trying to figure out what’s wrong with my client. I shouldn’t have done my WvW first…
I’ve been doing the new fire elemental daily, and more often than not I go down, or just die several times. My main server isn’t a ‘high population’ server and when I only have a handful of people (5-8?) it’s doable, but we go down constantly, if we don’t just out right die.
If I damage to tag, and spend the rest of my time avoiding damage when I guest to a larger population server, then it’s okay. Other people go down, and they help take it out, but I’m not really pulling my own weight.
I don’t quite understand the best way to deal with it. It has been frustrating to figure out. Stun breakers are stability for knock downs, condition removal for the fire. But the invulnerable wisps have been seen as far as the central ‘core’ area of the reactor. The burn and blind range is so far. I’ve been chain knocked down (my body bounces like a ball) and surrounded by invulnerable wisps so other players can’t even help revive me without dying. This is on my level 80, when I tried this with a lower level alt, I expected to be down most of the time.
What’s the secret to being able to dps/revive others, without dying? Yes we can waypoint, I know and I do that, but the question is more about the most optimal way to dps without going down or needing help.
Thanks for any advice.
Wasted 10 parts already trying to get this achievement. I’m surprised they’re taking so long to fix? No one in the office?
The posts here echoed my own thoughts. I think the update has been great, with the exception of some of the above mentioned problems. Things have been moving in the right direction, I just wish I had more time to enjoy the current current. Including the event activities to coincide with the daily achievements has been great when I’m strapped for time.
I’m glad the OP posted such a positive thread.
So far the comments aren’t too terrible and there is still the potential a Dev might review this thread. I’ll add my 2 cents.
1) Sword main #2. With the timing change (Was there even a valid PvP reason for this?) even traited (which nearly everyone does and this doubles or forces us to trait it even more) the time seems way too long now. I feel this running through CoE where I was used to a certain timing for my Blurred Frenzy, or as a ‘safe’ evade against the harpies in Fractals.
2) Sword Main #3. In PvP or PvE I find it incredibly annoying how unreliable the leap is on uneven terrain and when you’re not certain of your distance from the target. If I’m chasing someone up stairs and I need the leap/swap to catch and it does nothing but get caught on the first few steps. Even against mobs I’m running up to it just seems to go on cool down when I ‘feel’ like I’m close enough for a leap.
3)Focus offhand #4. The ‘curtain’ really isn’t a curtain. Running through it for speed doesn’t always trigger (shouldn’t a curtain ‘tag’ from the top down?) on ledges/uneven ground; even when it’s obvious you’re passing through it. That being said, I don’t see why it couldn’t act more like a wall (the visualization is just so misleading) when you reflect instead of having to stand nearly on top of it (or for a curtain under it?).
4) I think the obvious dislike are for the nerfs. I understand needing to balance things for PvP. But, now that blurred frenzy is an ‘evade’. I just feel so much more squishier in PvP because a lot of knock downs interrupt me. If this is a major balance issue, then so be it. I’ll adjust. I just hope not to see more changes similar to this. This hurts a lot in PvE as well. I thought I had a possible panic button in the Aetherblade dungeon (without burning my long distortion cool down) and it was my first introduction to life without the old blurred frenzy.
I still love the class as my main, but with each change it challenges my resolve a little bit more.

Good job. I’ve been debating all week if about if I wanted to write this up. These are pretty much what I use for PvE, with some minor trait differences. I tell my friends to use this setup for PvE because it offers a tremendous amount of flexibility.
I would change the name of the build though. Yes, these are standard traits for PvE, but the cutter of cookies makes it hard to reference.

This has been going on repeatedly for a while. I believe over an hour. I’ve been ignoring it, and constantly clicking okay. But, do people actually know something is going on?
When I tried to do it, I walked in and 3 out of 4 torches were already lit (someone probably gave up themselves earlier). I tried to reset by taking away all the stones. Then I proceeded to follow the patterns as I saw them. There were no visible changes in the ‘eyes’. I then searched online and tried to complete all of the patterns until the possible finished pattern. I even tried to double stack stones. 2 other random people tried afterwards. We all sat there scratching our heads. I ended up guesting to another server to finish this puzzle. Apparently there are some instances that just get locked up and the the eyes/patterns stop responding? I saw 3 torches, but it was still on the 1st+2nd pattern.
Shoot. I wasn’t going to post, but I’m playing from Hong Kong as well. I didn’t change anything. Only today randomly it started lagging badly. My pings to servers and other services seem just fine. Just my guild wars 2 game is lagging really bad. I can barely do anything even having a hard time pressing ‘f’ to light effigies. PvP was a terrible experience my friends all watched me lag to death.
I’ve noticed a party of what seems to be random people, part of different guilds, running around in a mob. following nearly the same path in fireheart rise. They do circles killing harpies, moas, grubs, and anything else they walk into. If they go down by the vet. They repeated spam auto attack. I message them several times while they’re down to see if they need help. Of course no reply. If they die, they immediate respawn at Apostate Waypoint and continue their circle.
Are these kinds of actions still being looked into? After a while they seem to way point out.
Seriously? Missed it the first hour because it happened 1 hour 20 minutes AFTER the PDT time, then it’s been off by 20 minutes, but the overflow isn’t running on the same time. So I stay in the overflow hoping it would come up and it doesn’t. RIGHT after it finishes of course I can re-enter LA just to find out it finished again and I’m out of the overflow and I can’t get back. This is a serious waste of time.
I tried to ask this in another post, but I’ll just make a short one here. Based on what I read on the guide (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-guide-to-dragon-bash/).
I noticed the following lines.
“Not only will you work towards the So Lifelike achievement, the Coffer itself has a chance for Zhaitaffy and fireworks, with a very rare chance for a Holographic Risen Knight mini or a ticket for Dragon’s Jade weapon skins”
which does not mention the holographic wings as a possible drop from coffers. Farther down it says.
“Dragon Coffers have a chance to drop in all world loot. These festive boxes can contain Zhaitaffy, fireworks, and a very rare chance for a Holographic Risen Knight mini, a ticket for Dragon’s Jade weapon skins, or the Holographic Dragon Wings back item skin”
Which states that the Holographic wings are an actual possible drop from coffers.
For people who were lucky enough to actually get the wings as a drop; Did it come as a separate drop independent of the coffers? Or you actually opened up a coffer and it presented you with the holographic wings?
Thanks.
Curious, is it confirmed that the wings can come from coffers? I heard they were just random drops by themselves?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-guide-to-dragon-bash/
1st mention of coffers doesn’t mention the wings.
“Not only will you work towards the So Lifelike achievement, the Coffer itself has a chance for Zhaitaffy and fireworks, with a very rare chance for a Holographic Risen Knight mini or a ticket for Dragon’s Jade weapon skins. ”
But, farther down the list you see:
“Dragon Coffers have a chance to drop in all world loot. These festive boxes can contain Zhaitaffy, fireworks, and a very rare chance for a Holographic Risen Knight mini, a ticket for Dragon’s Jade weapon skins, or the Holographic Dragon Wings back item skin.”
I just want to know if I’m wasting my time with these coffers if I open them?
I just got kicked out of the end of a dungeon. Because apparently my Digital Deluxe Edition account is considered a ‘trial’ account and I don’t have permission to access the game?
Did anyone else get that message? I mean seriously?
