Don’t worry dear warrior players, even if they nerf wars to the ground another “faceroll” class will emerge (every single game has one), so you’ll just have to reroll, no big deal.
Regarding QoL #1, Temporal curtain… my impression so far was that it only works on myself and does not stack with any bonus. Which is a pity, because as a mesmer there are only few skills which you can use for buffing the group.
My TC most certainly works on others, but yes, it does not stacks with swiftness provided by other sources, as it is stated in QoL #1. A long-known issue (what a surprise :/ ).
Honsetly, I have so many kits I don’t have any particular rotation, sometimes I get so confused playing the piano that I just hit random keys and hope for the best.
Sometimes you just gotta go be like water and go with the flow.
Yeah, I feel like learning to play an engie is similar to learning to play few classes simultaneously.
You have to know what every of your skills does, and with all the kits and elixirs and stuff there are so many of them.
On another hand since I started to actively play the class I forgot when was the last time when I had absolutely nothing to use. There is always something useful off cooldown.
And I wouldn’t even use the term “rotation” for our class, I’d rather say we pull off some combos depending on the situation.

Vince, no point replying him, the guy doesn’t even know that necro hard counters our class.
Back to the 1st page.
Btw had they stopped "fixing " Arcane Thievery after we laughed at it?
This post made me laugh.
^^
Well, since I fell in love with the class… again (and not because of the upcoming buffs ;-)
The first screenshot from somewhen even before the Megaserver and others are the current state.
Same here. Got dced during Megadestr, can’t log in with that char anymore.
And apparently a guildie of mine has the same problem :/

Hi, being a total noob for dungeons I’d like to learn at least some basics… for any dungeon, tbh.
I play on EU.
Wait, what, Anet, you stopped fixing Arcane Thievery?!
What the kitten, don’ t you know how important it is?
You can’t quit on it just after 3 months of hard work!
yeah i moved on to necro. maybe once no one plays this class anymore, anet will realize that they nee to fix the bugs and rework the class…but that would be wishful thinking
Nah, they just will be happy about it.
‘Yay, finally no one plays that annoying unique class that has no equivalents in other mmos and was contributing to making GW2 something standing out among other games, wich was totally unacceptable. And we don’t need to imitate active bugfixing for it anymore! Time to buff some other class every second player has!"
Well, apparently Arcane Thievery is broken beyond any imagination and I am happy to see ANet working so hard every month to fix it.
(edited by cheshader.5081)
Wait, what, nothing was broken along the way?
Detailed repro steps like this go a long way towards helping us debug issues like this. We’re currently investigating the issue.
I see half-decent groups “reproducing” it almost every day (decent ones have too coordinate to stop dpsing him to avoid the bug).
Must be awfully hard and time consuming to do, yeah.
something needs to be done
Like finding another ANet?
Apparenlty, it was fixed at the cost of Pyro being banned.
Anet, I don’t even…
It’s getting beyond ridiculous, seriosly.
Thank you Anet for not breaking more stuff in attempts to fix it! (I believe it’s hard to invent gamebreaking bugs by fixing tooltips, but thanks anyway).
And thank you for fixing the Caledon Wurm instead of nerfing Feedback! It’s a miracle.
May be you will forget that we exist, and we will not see any more “bugfixes” breaking stuff they were intended to fix, occasional nerfs and other “nice stuff” coming our way for which we should’ve “stayed tuned”.
One can only hope.
When you hear/read word “fingers” your own finger responsible for pressing feedback button instinctively twitches.
Lmao.
Karka always spawns at a random location in the triangle between Captain’s Retreat, Driftglass Springs and Pride Point Waypoint.
By not unlocking all the waypoints you shot yourself in the foot and it is not a game issue in any way.
Oh, those types… Especially if you end up on a map with freshly arrived world boss train. Dat zerg mentality. Megazergers always complain about ‘not enough dps’ no matter what was the real reason of their fail.
Defense phase fail because people left for dps too early/no one was stomping holes or 90% just went to megalaser? ‘Not enough dps’
Turrets get obliterated because “defense” team was kitten ing among the turrets instead of killing mobs where they spawn? ‘Not enough dps’
No one was killing fingers? ‘Not enough dps’
Bone wall? ‘Not enough dps!’
Holy. Kitten. Hell.
My favorite was: “we had not enough dps so next time all mesmers, thieves and rangers should leave”.
(edited by cheshader.5081)
That’s why there should be people who would explain the strategy to the rest and try to organize it for the rest. Just throw in some useful advice and hope for the best.
That’s what I see at successful Teq kills.
For Wurm there are also at least five alliances still doing it on an daily basis.
Both on NA and EU.
TxS does not recruit anymore though.
Yeah, I hope they fix the issue with wurm and not nerf the Feedback skill because of that.
Is it Anet we still talking about? Then I totally expect feedback nerf as soon as they will be done with China release.
I don’ even. What the hell is OP talking about?
I see pugs and zerg without teamspeak doing Teq every day.
Successfuly (inb4 “omg not possible”). It’s a lot of fun, btw.
I can see some problems with Wurm, but, for kittens sake, there should be at least one boss in this game for people who like hardcore organisation.
What we need the least now is another Shatterer, Modniir or Golem Mk II (facepalm).
Actually, I hope Anet will bring them to the level of Teq, ot at least closer to it, so that zerglings will actually have to do something instead of standing at 1200 range completely safe with some minor inconvenience for a few seconds at best and spamming AA for 5 mins .
I am totally not surprised that something mesmer-related does not work.
I bet this class would be on the verge of deletion.
I bet the class is already deleted from GW3.
How to fight mesmer?
The most popular method is to complain on forums, so that mesmer will be nerfed.
I finally felt usefull again, as a Mesmer.
Sounds like a bug to me. Surely ANet will fix it.
Yeah, still bugged.
Whelp, at least the chat at bugged D is funny.
Your Illusionary Leap + Swap work flawlessly.
Your iWarden actually reflects projectiles.
Swiftness from Temporal Curtain stacks.
Your bouncing attacks with Illusionary Elasticity bounce 4 times.
Overall, everythings works.
And then you wake up.
You have the lowest skill floor of all classes
rofl
Sure, mesmer has the lowest skill floor. That’s why we see so many mesmers running around, you know, like every second character on any map is a mesmer.
Apparently it also has toughness/vitality which are always there and do not require any skill to use them.
And wears heavy armor. Also is easy-peasy to level.
Considering this, you totally should roll the mesmer, instead of playing that squishy nerfed bugged support class (in the game where support classes are not supposed to exist at all) you’re playing now, yeah.
(edited by cheshader.5081)
Posted it five days ago: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Megadestroyer-Bugged
So, not fixed yet.
Event worked well yesterday, I thought it was fixed.
.if u cant fix iwarden then revert it to its former glory until u have found a solution. it is attacking but not reflecting multiple projectiles anymore. just revert it until u can 100%fix it
Would like to see it too, but not sure they can revert it without breaking something again.
Wish this was a joke.
Yeah, just experienced it, second time too.
First time was 2 days ago.
No Asuras, countdown, and then an explosion.
I always had that weird feeling that those people who designed mesmer and those who work at the ANet dev team are two totally different groups of people, and since launch mesmer was more of a “black box” for ANet, so they did not actually know how it works, how to fix bugs and were afraid of making it too powerful and thus preferred to nerf more along with attempts to fix the bugs.
But your explanation makes much more sense.
Aaaaaand they did it again…
What di they “fix” this time?
I would start with actually fixing most bugged skills. We don’t know, may be after that mesmer won’t need much balancing, some things are broken since launch, and others were broken during “fixing” them.
Until that it is too early to talk about the balance I believe.
Trying to fine tune for example a car which is not working properly sounds like an insane a bad idea to me.
Plez nerf mesmer, I mean they can equip with greatsword and dealing tons of damage as illusions which is overpowered, now you can rarely see a high skilled warrior equip wih greatsword in PVP, mesmer seems like tougher than warrior with same damage but no sacrafice at all ( compare to greatsword warrior’s survivability) , that is really ridiculous
Don’t worry, in the next update mesmers will probably just die on spawn.
I so desperately want to welcome you with open arms, help you pick out the perfect fuchsia outfit and let you see the joy that comes with screwing the minds of your opponents. However, for the first time since this game was available to the public, I have to say, no. Making a mesmer is no longer worth it. Too many skills are broken and have remained so for far too long. The changes to the leveling system will make a class that was already difficult to level a nightmare. The traits commonly enjoyed around 40 can only be taken much later and that’s only after you do the event to acquire them or buy them outright. The switch of mantra traits makes dungeon runs harder. The nerf to Power Block took the shine off of that new trait. The nerf to vigor hurt those whom used deceptive evasion… The list goes on and on.
There are very few good things here and, thankfully, one of which is completely out of Anet’s control: the community. Though there are the usual members prone to exaggeration and the whining that’s become commonplace, this is the only forum that will not only treat newbies like family but will actually and wholeheartedly help all other professions seeking solutions in taking us down. You won’t find that anywhere else, save the players helping players forum.
This, thousand times this.
Now all gm traits are crap, i want some statement from devs how the kitten we supose use them, i want to see the movie how they make build and play in tPvP with decent team. Power Block was only one that fell nice, was entery to the build diversity, other traits was dull an useless on relase(especialy Disruptor’s Sustainment this trait is the splap in the face, rather joke than something usefull)
I believe you’ll see their statement in GW3 when there won’t be anything like that annoying mesmer class.
I think I am fairly done with the mesmer profession for now and probably with GW2 too. So I see this as my farewell present as you can not have my stuff.
Best regards -
Kaiyanwan
That’s a pity. For me, as a noob, your guide was extremely helpful, and one of the most comprehensible and competent profession guides I ever saw for any game.
I wish you well in whatever you will do from now on.
First ANet did not make it clear how exactly the trait will work.
And then they had a choice: to kitten off mesmers only, or to kitten off thieves and possibly other professions.
Well… exactly the case when money talks.
I no longer hope that iwarden will be fixed, I just want the “fixes” can be undone and we can have our old good iwarden back, not moving but spinning and reflecting.
Can dev give up the “fixes”? PLEASE?
Sadly, I have to agree.
If you can’t fix it – at least don’t touch it, please.
Yup, definitely bugged. 4 attempts, no progression after the third wave.
At the same time, with another toon about a month ago I was able to finish the mission at the first attempt.
PS: Looks like staying closer to children did the trick. But still, next time I’ll thinks twice before creating a character with this event in the personal story.
