I have a suggestion that is completely different. How come NPCs you are fighting automatically “always” attack you and not your clones? A simple illustration of this is target an NPC apply “Mirror Images” which then rush the NPC (note you are taking no offensive action). The NPC immediately rushes pass the 2 clones and attacks you. What’s the point of the clones (must be PVP only) if NPCs are not fooled? There should be RNG involved in PVE combat that fools NPCs to your clones. If there already is RNG it is too low (especially when you hit “2” in a down state and notice how your clone is ignored over 80% of the time).
I’ve had this happen where I got stuck inside a Risen Catapult. I could not get out without waiting to get out of combat (another mechanic that needs rework) to waypoint away. This happened on the Arah Risen Wizard run.
Could Anet make the blood witch in kessex hills spawn more frequently? I’ve not seen her spawn for 2 hours…so far.
Once your guild has enough merits to open up all guild missions types do what our guild does, choose tier 3 bounty and pick the easiest target to zerg for commendations since it doesn’t benefit you to complete the guild bounties once you open up all the missions. Trilla is our favorite to zerg in FoE (small route and easy to find).
I’m crafting ascended weapons for my mesmer (so far have GS, and 2 one-hand swords done, now working on staff). Working on my second legendary, minstrel (already have Metereologicus). In another month or so we will be able to craft ascended gear so I’m stacking components now.
Even though I don’t use my guardian much, I love the Armageddon Armor (skinned as a heal set) on her. The blue steel look on a female short Norn is amazing.
I love doing the snow ridge event chain in Fireheart (usually you get at least 3 of the dailies done with it). If you manage to solo the last event if you are on your own, you can then do the champ spider for another daily. It’s a great chain to test your skills (especially the last event in the chain).
If you can craft your armor and weapons. Weapons are more important during leveling than armor (I’ve leveled toons whose armor was 20 lvls and more lower than my toon since I’m cheap and just use what I pick up along the way). Also, crafting will level your toon some more (pick crafts you can use, unless you have alternative toon that can craft it).
I missed the invulnerability it used to have (especially losing the 2 seconds of no condition damage).
I have the GS halloween bat sword skin on my ascended GS. It’s awesome that the clones GS also generate bats off the sword.
Go melee only. I went with Sword/Focus and Sceptor/Sword. That with your time warp should be enough (as long as you stand in the candy goop).
Since they (Anet) fixed the GS hit thru aligned mobs, I find it works great when the melee group has mobs around them and there are 2 or 3 aligned enough that I can hit all of them with the GS. In the harpy fractal when you are doing the second floor mob of 4 I get a lot of extra hits in by letting the melee keep the mobs occupied while I align them for multiple hits. If you always keep your positioned update as it fires you get a lot of multiple hits (you just don’t get with the non-cone type other weapons). Sure this is situational, but with the Superior Sigil of Fire your aoe blasts also helps.
I went with the Meteorologicus only because I liked its look over the other legendaries, even though it is still a meh weapon for mesmers (slightly improved from this latest patch).
I love watching the blast of white numbers on the Viscount in the labyrinth when I bubble him!
Personally, the weapon set you use is dependent on the fight. Some bosses (especially in fractals are range and GS is fine for that). I like the GS mainly for tagging as many targets as I can when zerging (like in the labyrinth right now). With the Superior Sigil of Fire and my high crit chance I tag a lot of targets for loot with the GS (way more than you can do with a staff). But yes, in melee situations definitely go with S/S or S/F. Pistols I don’t use as much anymore and will probably less now with this latest patch.
I wish they let mesmers duel wield pistols, now that would be cool.
Dungeon running is still fun for me. Just recently me and 2 other mesmers did SE p1 by ourselves. In SE we only wiped 4 times for runback.
Radical suggestion concerning Mesmers. Instead of wasting time worrying about lame mantras revamp Mesmers modus operandi to revolve more around their clones/phantasms.
1) The more illusions are up the mesmer’s HP, toughness goes up
2) The more illusions that are up the mesmer’s attack skills effectiveness goes up
3) The more illusions that are up the Mesmer’s boon adding and condition removal goes up for allies
4) Shattering changes to be non-offensive and becomes a heal and condition removal for mesmers.
5) Fix the horrible illusion AI (inability to handle uneven terrain, inability to hit moving targets)
This way fighting a Mesmer will be unique in both pve and pvp. Think of the Mesmer as a “soft” guardian!
It is such a pain to organize and get a large group gathered for a Teq fight without the afk’ers and newbs. Guilds should be allowed to schedule servers for massive coordination fights like Teq. The present server overflow mechanism is horrible.
One really weird bug I’ve experienced in the dungeon (not in other dungeons or fractals), is when I dodge my camera angle all of a sudden shifts about 120 degrees for no apparent reason. It only happens in this dungeon and only when I dodge.
WoodenPotatoes has really hit the nail on the head with GW2 overflow server problems and stat nerfing and condition damage problems. His commentary about Teq fight is so true (the oxymoronic nature of the achievements to the fight).
Salvaged 20 exotics with mystic salvage kit and get zero globs of dark matter. RNG is worst than the clovers.
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

Not going to bother running SAB to be honest. After seeing people continually die I see no fun wasting my time in there, especially for the crappy rewards. Instead I’ll farm champs and world bosses.
I sold a dusk to get the legendary sceptor soley because of the Mesmer GS animation lacking for legendary. Although it is a shame that the scepter is such a “meh” weapon for a Mesmer (I like its effects though).
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

I have a question for the developer, Josh. Have the JP(s) and SAB been tested using only the keyboard for moving and jumping? If not, they should because that should be the baseline for the difficulty. Not all of us can do mouse-directed movement (especially us older folks). I strongly suggest any new content be base-lined without mouse directed movement.
At the top when fighting the boss at final seal, the boss came in the same cage as me. This caused me to immediately go down causing us to restart the fight. Fix this bug!
All skins should be sellable (period). Do the right thing Anet!
I’ve had DC’ing occurring a lot lately running these zergs frustrating the hell out of me. In fact one time we were within 30 seconds of downing the final boss lady and I dc’d therefore giving me no credit. ANET a simple solution is to allow DC’d players back in to their parties overflow no matter if the population is full as long as the players did not leave their party. Full servers can easily accommodate this is if you simply put a 95% cap on normal populations. This would solve a lot of the DC’ing player issues.
How can you get 13 of the zones cleared when you dc and lose getting that zone even when you fought in there thru 3 waves and people just sit their toons in zone and get credit. This isn’t fair.
Twice I could not get mount maelstrom because of a dc and unable to zone in with party already in the overflow. You should allow party members automatic zone in even when they dc.
I’ve submitted this bug and still am patiently waiting the return of my gems. I have the bank addition item still in my necro’s inventory? When is Anet going to refund my gems?
PS> You should not be allowed to purchase an extra bank slot when you are at the maximum. FIX THIS BUG!
Since last patch, the exit arrow for instances is unavailable during loot exposure above the mini-map. Please restore having the exit in the forefront..

Wait, I got it and can’t use it wtf! Okay, refund my gems and remove the extra bank tab icon from my inventory on my necromancer.
At least refund my 600 gems. I have 8 bank tabs and it allowed me to spend my gems for another which I did not get. I should be refunded for it. If there is a maximum allowed why isn’t this checked to prevent this problem.
Okay, I see the bug. I notice his own dialog stomping itself between two different lines (one of which is his counter that doesn’t allow you to bluff). It appears that sentence is used even when another dialog line is supposed to be voiced. There is definitely a bug.
He’s bugged. I’ve even tried the same moves as the successful youtube and he uses is move much earlier all the time now. No way to beat him.
kitten , I posted this wrong. He is bugged and impossible unless the 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 % chance he doesn’t spam his do not bluff move doesn’t occur twice within 4 moves without the prevent heal counter. At that point you cannot win.
Misspelled his name, its Adnul. It’s bad enough he has 2 counters, but with him not allowing you to heal AND also allowing you to not bluff within 5 moves makes this an impossible win.
Fix this contest.

I’ve tried scepter and I like action 3 a lot. Action 1 dps needs to be upped at least by a factor of 2 to be viable since it is so easily evaded. Torment on action 2 (a block) makes absolutely no sense since to block we are standing still and thus our opponent doesn’t need to move. Torment belongs with action 3.
Especially when the mobs don’t suffer from it (eg. Harpy fractal).
Note to anet: Just saw a youtube of a warrior achieving 30k damage on a purple boss.
Please swap Mesmer developer with the developer for warrior. Maybe we would get logically aligned traits.
I’m not much on PvP or WvW so my opinion of the changes for those really doesn’t count. However, I am searching for a new spec in PVE, given the loss of invulnerability on one-hand sword (guess I will go to scepter). The change sucks because evade allows conditions to tick during 2 seconds while you stand there in blurred frenzy whereas invulnerability did not allow the conditions to tick during its time. There is some interesting discussion of the prismatic alignment being pretty good now so maybe I will try that out some.
Well, given that one-hand sword is less than useful and I am working to my legendary scepter, I guess I’ll see what happens.

That is incorrect. If you had conditions on you, they would still tick.
Sorry Pyro, but during invulnerability 2 seconds the conditions do not tick giving you 2 extra seconds for healing. Afterwards the conditions continual to tick if they do not time out.
In simple terms: Blurred Frenzy will now no longer work against the Fractal JadeMaw’s laser beam attack…sadness.
Wow, major nerf for Mesmer, Illusion Celerity moved TO GRANDMASTER tier, even with the phantasm damage increase for pvp this is a killer. No longer can keep only 5 trait points in illusions and spend them where useful. Guest I’ll write off illusions trait tree now.
Tried to waypoint into Sparkfly Glen for TEQ encounter and stuck in load up screen for 5 minutes. Wait, now client lost connection (Code=7:0:0:784:101).
Anet should employ a much better algorithm than simple RNG using low percentages. The chance of getting something should increase the more drops (in this case dragon coffers and such) the player gets until the reward is accomplished then reseed the RNG. This would prevent the extremes we see in this game.
One guildie of mine ran over 150 lvl 10 fractals and above before seeing a ring. Talk about disheartening.
I only did it enough times to get 3 wins. And unlike my usual random luck (over 700 skill points and no precursor drop yet), I actually came out ahead. Of course I stopped once I got the achievement. Guess it is time to akitten dragonball (pvp not my forte) now to knock that one off.
Slight update. After a fourth killing of the Karka Queen I finally could see and loot the chest. Sheesh, like the RNG isn’t bad enough in this game, but they handicap you on even looting.
