Hey, I was using PWhip and it was cool before stun-rounding were fixed!
Personally find pvp fun, good teams are queueing in evenings (Cheese Mode, 55hpm, etc.)
So i take my sword and trying to scratch their rating.
I believe that if they are not releasing any Glory dumps (like wintersday gifts) best way to spent glory will be crafting dyes:
10 arcane powder
1 arcane silver
1 consumable token
1 arcane orb
Consumable token costs 200 glory,
Gosh.
Even if you don’t need this AWESOME skill, just sheath your weapon immediatly after casting it.

Also for you guys commenting about utility skills, I strongly believe that the only MUST have pick for S/P is inf. signet, I’ve been using wire instead of shdstep or refuge instead of agility signet.

With conditions flying here and there, lyssa and shadowstep are the only reliable condition cleaners.
I came up with an idea:
Headshot – transfer one condition on interrupt
Dancing dagger – increase ini cost by one, decrease number of targets to 2 + transfer conditions on damage (so – two targets hit = two conditions transferred)
What do you guys think.
I wish to pick something different than lyssa, but it pigeonholes you to HiS and stealth traits and it is imo laughable.

I have sigil of fire and sigil of accuracy in my sword/pistol and on swap I have sigil of energy in bow, but I feel that it has something like 50% chance to proc on swap – sometimes it gives me energy, sometimes not.

Don’t know about NA but in EU (1-50) S/P works great. I made few vids about S/P before “stun-fix” and now I’m making new one.
IMO, when it comes to real play, not on paper, all weaponsets have its uses, but in current meta the build that shine is the one that can be UTILIZED.
And stun/daze (utility tools actually) is what make S/P viable against any other spec/class because it is about how you read the game, and how you counter-play: there is a stun, there is a dodge, interrupt, blind field, and lots of jailfree cards, at least in my build.
So S/P is about staying in combat and D/P is about picking the right one. Hope we all understand it!
Rank or leadboards, my answer still remains the same. They both mean nothing to me.

Rank doesn’t mean anything, I’ve seen rank 40 people play better than rank 60. It’s just something to brag about and have the feeling you’re better then other people while in reality it doesn’t have anything to do with how truly skillfull you are.
Although I can’t deny that I’d rather have a rank 30 in my team then a rank 10, simply because they are more likely to understand the game mechanics then people with lower rank. However, if there does happen to be a low rank on my team I won’t say anything to that would offend his gameplay. Everyone started somewhere.
I think that questions was about leaderboard position.
And as for me, that means a lot.
Like when you enter top100 and hold there for at least 10 games, you can basically say, that in general, you’re better than those guys, hanging around ~500. And when I say better, I mean you can outplay them, you know mechanics better and feel your charachter better than they.
Being a thief myself, I can easily name all good thieves from my skill bracket, and each of them require certain counterplay, while any other thief can be dealt with ease.
That is the same for any other class, every player can name few of each class, that gave him the most trouble compared to others and I’ve found that most of these hard players are placed in top100 soloQ/teamQ.
So yes, rank means a lot, when you are trying to estimate whether you are possible to stay in fight with 10% hp or not, or when you are trying to calculate chances for win.
And if difference between you and your opponent is more than ~250 positions it also means much.
It is a WvW build obviously.
I think that any build have it chances for life. But:
-Prime source of damage is Backstabs, i guess, and 53% precision is not enough to maximize it potential at all, even with perma fury it will be a solid chance to kitten your damage completely.
-Picking feline’s grace is a good choice regarding withdraw and vigorous recovery, and as D/D you’re good at dodging, but you should check how do you feel without health regen while in stealth, assuming that you always will be melee’ing your target with dd+dpSuggestions for your build:

Ways thief can remove conditions:
-Shadowstep (stunbreak also) – 3 conditions
-Signet of agility – 1 condition (also refill endurance)
-Shadow return – 1 condition (also cast time)
-Shadow’s embrace – major adept trait – 1 condition per 3 seconds of stealth
-Pain responese – major master trait – remove bleed/burn/poison under 75% hp every 30 seconds
I’m not taking into consideration hide in shadows and withdraw as they are both remove particular conditions;
Now compare these to any class condition removal and you’ll fing that Lyssa runes is actually almost only one viable choice for thief to stay active in a combat.
Thats how the game designed.
Don’t know about it viability, but in my Queues (top50-100 eu) I barely have problems.
Yesterday I was playing vs Sizer for about 10-15 games and result was like 50/50.
Set is well rounded and you always have a chance to outplay your enemy by timing your steal and inf.signet+pistol whip. By this moment, I can also add, that shadow return nerf hurts, but you still can get used to it and achieve some good results.
Also, after yesterday sparring with Sizer I tweaked some traits and stats, but it require some testing to prove its functionality first before posting it here.
For those of us who use S/P, I’d like to know what other builds are usable in soloQ/teamQ
And what other traits do you use in this very common 10/30/0/0/30?
P.S. With PW back I went straight 400 positions to #48 in soloQ, so I guess it can indicate how useful it is in solo :P

Yep, absolutely, I’d say precision is even better stat than power since you want to crit on every shot from your unloads.
Since they are buffing warriors with every patch, i think:
-They will give invisibility and backstab to warriors (it can be EASILY countered with sic’em!!!)
-New warrior skill: summon phantasmal warriors – call 2 warrior’s clones, that have 50% hp, 50% damage
-Warriors will be able to summon spectral weapons to help them in combat
-On 10% hp warrior is immune to damage and can only die by falling.
Hey man, nice build there, think it will work (probably) but as P/P you don’t have so much profit from landing poisons like you do with P/D (which benefits from constant condition pressure). IMO you just sacrificing your potential into teamwide buff, which is good, but there are sets that synergize better with it.

If you want P/P try this.
You should be like rangedDPS (staff ele/SDengi/LB ranger) – but you have that big mobility on a particular fight and a lot of burst option with switch to D/P. It also your escape mechanic when your cooldowns are blown – you are just switching to melee set and BP+HS out of problems.
While being effective at range you have a lot of tricks as D/P zerker thief. Being very confusing on top of that (skillset shown to enemy like S/D, using withdraw, going d/p stealth and shooting out of stealth with flurry of bullets) is a win ticket.

They just have to buff the pistol whip to a full second and it will be good again.
