If I played a game and I got max gear and beat every content in 3 months, I’d be pretty bored. Whe nthe game becomes so trivial that I can just roll over and throw some gold to get any set of armor I want, it’s trivial, there is nothing to look for to in the game.
Even wit htime gate, the game is already too easy, I would complain about the time gated crafting if there is actually challenging content in the game.
Then i must ask you why you stared to play this game? From all the begining it was promised that there will be nothing you expect from game. No hard to get gear to beat content and grinding and everything around it..
I just dont understand why someone who expect this in game which is supposed to be free of it.
Market is full of games that would suite you better.
Now people that like gear grind demands to have it in game and we people that started to play this becouse it was supposed to be free of it are frustrated becouse Anet is breaking promises.

So what does the sub in other games pay for then?
Isn’t one of their main justifications for having subs that it is paying for future development of the game?
The fact that some companies are greedy does not mean we didnt paid for releases of GW2. Anet and other qualite B2P and F2P show us that there is no need for subs.
Those games with subs or future games that plan to have it want people to pay full prise then sub every month+ they have some store for real money.
That is just greed nothing more. Ane is not greedy but that does not mean they give us releases for free. We paid them for it.

When you buy a product you buy the product as it is at the time of purchase. Stuff added after that is just bonuses.

Becouse they thought its too strong. S/p was one of the most used build before those huge nerfs. You could stun from stealth and kill anyone with it before stun ended.
Anyway i think thief was much more fun before then now. Yes glass canon thief could one shot anyone, but anyone could one shot glass thief too. It has kind of balance.

You didnt paid just for release. You paid for right to play game and everything that will be released for it until its paid expansion. As a customer you have right to ask for stuff. Their bills are paid becouse we paid and play this game.
You paid for game and for every service with it, including support, updates and bug repairs or for right to use forum.
Fact is Anet has to make new stuff for us continually, otherwisethe game would die. Same as any other company with mmo has to do it. And every one of us paid them for it.

Lot of people wanted to talk about ascended gear, grind and alt unfriendliness and lot of people actualy merged them together like ,,Acended gear and grind" or Gear grind and alt unfriendliness". And it has logic becouse huge part of grind and alt unfriendliness is represented by Ascended items and vice versa.
Becouse of this i would suggest to merge those in to one topic becouse if we will disscus them separatly we will probably discuss same things all over again. Finally i have said this many times so for those that have seen it repeatedly please forgive me for the repetition, but once again i want to make it clear that the only ‘feedback’ i have asked the team not to spend their time on are those comments which are not productive. Specifically comments with no actionable substance. Whilst it is nice to see positive commentary we spend a lot more time discussing and negative criticism so we can learn more and improve the game.

We should get compensation for every level above 30. The higher level player has the higher will be reward. This seems to me like only reasonable solution.
Deleting our progres for something so worthless like leaderboard without any compensation is very bad idea.
CDI looks like very good project to me and the comunication between players and developers is much better now. That is the fact and i very appreciate it.
But i still dont feel that developers have a will to change things according our feedbacks.
Only a little things that have no important impact or those that are problem of future and developers themselves dont know how to do them yet. Only in those cases developers have a will to do or change something. But in important things and features developers dont want to change anything no matter how many people have good reasons for it.
For example cadence of releases (i dont want to talk about it, i just put it as example) where we got answer ,,This is something we dont want to change" And that is all. In a future of CDI players ask for changes of many important features in game and they will have some really valid reasons for it. Especialy if we will discuss things like (again just example) Ascended gear or conditions in PVE. But CDI will never work well if everything what we will get on serious things is ,,This is something we dont want to change"
Anet you should learn ,,the art of compromise" even if it would mean to completely overwrite your vision of game
You are the developers, you dont have to do it, but if you really want players to have impact on game and work with you on it, you should never say anything like ,,This is something we dont want to change" or ,,This is something we want to have in game"
You should be open to change anything in a game or CDI will be only chat with developers which is nice and some nice ideas can come from it, but it will never be true Collaborative development.

Please no leaderboard. You will wipe our 30+ progress for nothing. The only place in this game where people should flex is bank of LA with legandary.
At least give us some reasonable compensation.
Spoiler: there was always a rare chance to get them in the 10-20ish. The only change we made was to make them skins so you can apply them without spending a transmutation stone.

Here’s how it works:
- Agony resist infusions are always +1 or above agony resist.
- Agony resist infusions only slot into the Agony Resist slot, which is currently only found Infused Asccended Rings and Back Items.
- Every time you finish a fractal, you’ll get at least a +1 out of the chest.
- An artificer can combine any two identical agony resist infusions with a Thermocatyltic Reagent o make one of a higher resistance.
- Existing Infused Ascended Rings and Back Items lose their natural +5 Agony Resist, and receive a +5 Agony Resist Infusion by default.
- New Infused Ascended Rings and Back Items will have an empty slot.
I still dont get it. So i will ask one simple question. I have 55 Ar on my warr now. Will i have same number after update?
The change is supposed to support thiefs so they dont have to trait for ini regen necessarily and lower ini from stealth to nerf D/P mainly as far as i know.
If the players really control it it is probably shared through all servers. And i dont belive players will end it. In a week everyone will have his mask and mini and lose interest in tower. And i doubt it will be filled in that time.
I solo Hybrid as D/D – SB half zerk thief and it is satisfying challenge.
The behavior of players is shameful. Only a few will try to help. But most will just let everyone die if it will help them to get to top of tower.
It’s pretty difficult to stop and help somebody (However much you want to) if you know your going to die as well.
People dont want to help even if they can. And if i realy cant ress someone completely a will ress at least a little so others behind me can finish it.

Guardiand largely speaking work well, are a popular main choice and effective (even essential) in every aspect of the game.
They might have some problems (every class does) but they dont need attention as much as other classes do.
It’s not that they’re paying more attention to other classes, it’s that they’re ignoring what we’re saying here on the forums. They come to us with a SoS change, we reply saying that the change isn’t good or could be done in another way (with requests for soft CC) but then Anet replies with “maybe 5% more damage on sword really isn’t needed, what do you guys think” then totally disappear. It’s like trying to have a discussion with bulletin board.
Nicely said. I was also surprised that there is no discussion about SoS even it raised huge wave of negative feedbacks, and some positive too to be fair. And we didnt even got any explenation why it has to be nerfed.
Now it looks like: Hey we want to change SoS. You can provide us feedbacks but we will do it no matter you say. Even if your reasons are valid. We want to do it and that is important. And by the way what do you think about 5% Dmg boost? Do you need it?
MAybe i am wrong and balance team has huge disscusion about guardian and SoS right now. I just said how it looks like now. And it really does.
We agree, this is something we’ve been discussing a lot lately and working on some various answers for, but I’m curious:
What rewards would you like to see from rewards? Would they be different when you’re leveling up than when you’re level 80? What would motivate you to want to go around the world playing as many different events as possible, rather than the same 4-5 over and over again?
To tell what motivates me i have to first tell what does not motivates me.
1- Three to 30 pieces of some material while i need hundreds to finely get what i need is greatly demotivating for me.
2- Bunch of blues, greens and rares are not worthy reward too especialy for harder or time consuming content. Becouse they are easy to get everywhere and it is very demotivating to get same reward for (for example) Tequatl as it is for any other event or easy dungeon like CoF 1. And no providing us higher number of those things for harder content doest not make it more rewarding. Those things are so common that i just don feel rewarded. You can say that rares means ectos but then i can refer you to my first point :-)
This 2 points represent biggest issue of GW2 rewards. And what would motivate me?
1 – I dont like gear grind, but if you really want to have it in game give me that gear directly and not some material. It is very boring now. And if i would have to do different types of events for different type of gear it would motivate me to go for all possible events. Just quick example: Temple of Dwayna drops helms,
while Grenth drops rings, Golem mark swords and spears and so on, those are just examples how it could work. And this gear should be usable so at least exotic with reliable chance for ascendeds. And if that gear will be account bound there will be no problem with economy.
And of cource events can also drop common loot from chests like it does now so people that have every gear they need will still get something from it.
I would take something like this to eliminate that boring material grind and no usefull reward.
2 – But what i really love on GW2 is variety of armor and weapon skins. I absolutely need no gear grind in game if i can have so huge visual progression in game as it is in game now.
And focus on horizontal progression. Reward us with new skills that are not better then others but provide another variability in combat.
Seriosly who need to farm material for gear for months? There is enough of this in every other game.
First point is some kind of compromise how i could get motivated but second would make me to explore every piece of game and do every DE in game

Er, where are people getting the notion that guardians base hp is 13k~.. its 10.8k
Base HP + 30 points in Honor, which is very standard for most builds including many DPS focused ones, gives you 13k and change.
Yeas but with traits it is no longer Base HP. And Kirito said ,,people getting the notion that guardians base hp is 13k".
Why is nobody talking about the most broken aspect about this class: Spirit Weapons.
Guardians are rerolling warriors because they are far superior in every aspect, and all were talking about is 5% sword damage? sigh…
Yes some change to spirit weapons would be nice. Maybe making them like necros demons?
To be honest he posted only one question about the least important thing. 5% more dmg for sword. There are much more important thinks to talk about then this.

The change to sword damage from 5% to 10%. I’ve seen a lot of talk that maybe it is not really needed. The fact was this was a lackluster trait and this is a lackluster change to it. I would love to do the right thing here and have a change that MH sword wants rather than just 5% more damage.

I play Sword/shield guard in PVE and i think it is really not needed. Bur move on cast Zealot’s Defense or pierce or some other active improvement on it would help us more.
And if you really want to hepl us dont destroy our mobility please.

To me none of the LV felt like it truly impacted the WORLD. Sure zones got changed, but the world stayed the same. Just look at the current LV there is a huge tower in the middle of a lake, but the humans and centaurs still have their petty land disputes..
So how would you try and solve this? And a second question is how far would you like to see the impact of say a tower in Kessex be felt content wise? The balance here is of course total volume of work for those involved, to literally have the entire world react to what’s going on would take us 6+ months to build, which at that point isn’t actually meeting our goals of a regularly changing and evolving world.
That tower is dangerous for centaurs too right? So why i dont see centaur fighting toxic aliance? They dont have to have aliance with humans, but they should certainly fight someone who is making their land one big poison :-)
If I would be centaur leader i would order my tribe to forget about humans for this time and focus on more dangerous enemy.
Edit: This could be also good start for something like peace treaty between humans and centaurs in possible future lore. Sometimes that war has to end, maybe it cant be sooner then in something like GW3 :-D but you had chance to use potencial of Living story for some future stories.
Anyway centaur fighting toxic aliance would make that update more live and real.

It won’t hurt guards in a big zerg where symbols drop like crazy. You’ll see better zerg mobility because of it which will help you and others.
It’s not so good solo or in small party, but in those situations you can afford to sit in the symbol for some ticks.
AND now two guards with staff stack instead of only one being effective.
There is no situation you can afford to sit in symbol when you need speed buff :-D That symbol change is illogical nonsence
Kromium, they have changed it to apply 4 seconds of swiftness regardless of whether or not you already have swiftness. Each pulse now applies 4 seconds of swiftness. Its far better support for the start of a tPvP match, but its probably a pretty lackluster change for WvW. Then again, troops of people could run over them in WvW I imagine
And that is only situation where it can help. ,,Start of Tpvp match" But in rest of situations it is great nerf of guardians mobility. In WvW, dungeons, open world events or in middle of Tpvp/Spvp and in fights it will be totaly useless.
Where is point in improving SoS for one single situation while hurting it for all rest?

Symbol of Swiftness
To clarify the new Symbol of Swiftness will give you 4 seconds of Swiftness every single pulse regardless of if you have swiftness or not. This is a improvement in many situations and a slight loss in the situation where you were using the Symbol as just a one time buff. I think this makes it feel more like a Symbol, which is good. We are still discussing the idea of it being 5 seconds, but there is some danger of that going pretty high with boon duration.Jon,
I like a lot of where you’re going with the Guardian here, but I am a little concerned about the Symbol of Swiftness change. Not as a matter of balance but just as a quality of life issue. 4 seconds of swiftness on a 15 second cooldown is pretty much useless as a means of traveling for a solo Guardian, and the symbol is one of the better ways for Guardians to get around. Having to stop and stand in the symbol to get the full ticks of swiftness while traveling long distance is just going to be counter productive and annoying. And I don’t like the idea that this skill is being balanced around the zerg rather than solo players who probably are only running one source of swiftness to begin with.
Math wise you can now sit in the symbol for 3 seconds with boon duration and end up with 9 seconds of swiftness which is more than you would have had before. I do still think it may need to be 5 seconds to account for the fact that you only get it every second so by the time you get the second one you have lost 1s of the first one.

Ok but the problem here? Most of guards use SoS only one time. And this is no just my speculation, this is just the truth :-) I will gladly log in to game and ask every guard i meet how they use their SoS and then send you their answer :-D I am 100% sure that almost everyone will say something like ,,When i need swiftness i just run, put it before me and cross over it as fast as i can becouse i need to get somewhere fast" No one actualy use it as a ,,symbol".
We use SoS to move faster in WvW, dungeons or to open world events or just run out of fight when we are almost death :-D and waiting for 3 sec every cooldown will slow us down instead of make us faster.
I beg you answer me this question- Who wants or can afford to stand even for 3 sec when he needs to get somewhere fast? It is a simple question please :-)
Even 5 sec is not enough we already have very bad mobility dont take away from us completely please :-) Leave it as it is and if the fact that it does not act as symbol is problem for you just change it to not to be symbol but keep its effect :-)
I’m cool with nerfing or buffing classes in a balancing patch, but I have to ask: why on earth did guardians get buffed?
I love that my guard got handed an extra 5% sword dmg free (free because there are no competing traits in that tier) but the dmg seemed great already so why did it get bumped up? Its not like parties were struggling on whether to bring a guard along in a dungeon, lol.
Also, I love that you dropped perma vigor from ranger, thief and engi but not from guard, hee hee.
Necro on the other hand, forget it. It’s already a joke in PvE. Now you’re just whipping an undead horse.
My opinion is that they wanted increase guard dmg in PVP but they forget a little for PVE here. I play sword guad in PVE and also think that there is no need for DMG buff.
But it would be counterproductive to complain on buff of my character so if they want to do it then OK :-D I just want to be honest and say what i think about it.
But maybe i am wrong and they really think guard need dmg buff for pve :-)
What worries me is staff change. I said why in this threat already .I hope they will reconsider it. Maybe they mean it as buff but actualy it is big nerf for everyone who use staff for faster traveling. And that is probably majority of staff users (i said probably, so i can be wrong. It is just my experience) Guardian already has low mobility, with that change he would have nothing to sustain good mobility. Waiting for full swiftness duration is counterproductive as complaining on buffs :-D

- How is the change to symbol of Swiftness any good? So many classes move much faster then Guardians. If you want to nerf this, give us an Adept trait, that gives us flat 25% movement spead, like Warriors have it.
In many cases the symbol of swiftness change is actually a buff and not a nerf. Currently it will only apply the initial large portion of swiftness if the target does not currently have any swiftness on them. If they have swiftness on them or after that first pulse it will then add 1 second of swiftness per pulse. This is very awkward and clunky.
The change makes the spell apply a consistent 4 seconds of swiftness per pulse without the strange hidden mechanic. Basically. if you already have swiftness on the people which you using the symbol on or if you take the time to stand in the spell for the full duration then it will just be a buff. =)
But if i am right we will have to stand full duration on symbol for benefit from this buff and that is entirely against purpose of swiftness. What is better? Wait to move faster or just go and get where want in same time i would still wait for full swiftness? :-)
This change will really hurt guardian in dungeons, open world an WvW.

I dont understand how this could help balance. Symbol of Swiftness is very important in PVE and open world. Now lot of people prefer everything else then staff (especialy damage build you want to support) I think this change will make staff abandon in PVE even more.

It is hard to pick just 2 updates for most favorite and least favorite, becouse i enjoyed more then one a lot and more then one disappointed me.
For most favorite i am deciding between Bazaar of the four winds and Cutthrout politics. And its probably bazaar. Becouse it was full of fun. Nice new map full of hidden fragments (?) and new movement skills made its exploring great experience. And there was no frustration. Contens was not easy but there was no moment that would make me frustrated or that would be annoyingly repetetive. I just enjoyed everything and progres in archievments and rewards was comleted naturaly.
And the least? Back to school or tequatl. Back to school not becouse of Box, but becouse of changes it brought. After that i cant enjoy the game as i did before. And Tequatl had nice concept but it could be done much better in my opinion. And its story does not make any sence to me. We killed Tequatl before Zaitans death. How did he end up there after his death? But i must admit its nearly impossible to do such content flawless for first try. :-)

I love solo instances becouse i can do them myself and dont have to bother with anyone. And it makes me feel that i am main part of the story only me and not some other group of people. I hope in a future i will be able to do every living story instance solo.

Just when you form party let everyone know that you are leader of party, you decide what tactic and that you will kick everyone who will disobey you.
You have right to ask for anything when you form party, it is up to players if they will accept your conditions and if they will they should stick to it. And if they dont they can form their own party with they own conditions like ,,Range every boss, dont want to melee anything or have zerker in group" and so on….
I understand your problem, some people just hate melee combat, zerker groups, fast runs or just think they are the best so much that they destroy others enjoyment from the game by they behaving and play style.
But seriously did you had to leave? You could just kick the bad one take someone else and continue.

No, this is what we got. I hardly believe living story beat class balance (and the many way players have to call it) but oh wel… class balance doesn’t sell on the gemstore. Living story does, so lets try at least to get this one right.

Discussion about just one think won’t help anything. We need to discuss every major topic to help to make this game better.This is the first pve topic discussion as said in the original post.
