The only legit inovator in mesmer builds was Osciat and maybe Sensotix everything after is copy use.
But even with their builds ,im sure at least 100 ’s of peple who dont bother posting on furms invented this builds before any Youtube posters…

I just don’t get why they didn’t seed players with high mmr in a higher division at the start of the season.
Would it be so hard to just set cut-off points and seed players according to their mmr?
Would get around a lot of the troubles, people face right now.

That was what i suggested when they first intorduced leagues,and ws found “unfair” since every1 should start race from same point.

Even now im for elevating all those guild teams in ruby or above just to let them have some1 to play against, and not to resort to exploits for faster que times,and have casuals enjoy casual solo pvp

Pvp was never rewarding.
I have about 8k games each 20min in average and all i have is 4peaces of ascended gear.
You had 30s reward for wining match for 3years, and some junk chsts that give you pve rewards.
Itried to point this out several times but was ignored.
My plan was to move to WvW after compleating my goals in pvp ,but its imposible with out equipment.
Peaple that play gw2 PvE as much as I do,are 100 times or even 1k richer than i…

Btw all my guild upgardes disapiered ,a lot fo waisted points,a lot….

They should add afk report and check box that should be confirmed by at least 7 players to avoid abusing it.
SO whole team must confrim afk player +3 from oponents team,leading to 24h dishonour.
Will love to see who will afk after that.

Yeah another exploit …

I made it to saphire yesterdey after 5h of struggle.
Acctually i had suprising 10-1 win string and made 2 tiers really fast(i think this is due to my previous day 0-5 win so i got easier oponents) and than last tier was horendous strugle .

Four hours forward and back,i even joind one team, we won previous fight with ,but its a double edge since we were pited against full premade but with voice com and better coordination.
To add to this, captain of our team insisted on 2point fights, and ppl just throw them self at mid constatly diyng.
After second match i went back to solo.

I just have to say this, last match that won me saphire was really epic ..
We were losing 250-20 or somthing and i tought not again but then ,we just found right team combo to ,who will su[pport wh will stay and def and won 500-320.

Im really happy that no 1 gave up,there were no rants and bad language we just kept playing,and than i tought that some1 went afk for other team and throw match but other team denied it…

Now you fights for pips (points ) according to pips won you rpomote-demote in league

My comparasion with sports ,as anet wants this to be esport,is that in any league teams with lowest score(pips or points) get demoted one league lower.

Also because i dont know exact player pool ,this dosnt have to be once a week it can be set on any interwal of time by anet…

Leagues are created to narrow mmr as close as possible and to have as close match ups as you can have (this is my undestanding of it any way)

With weeekly or 2-3 day promotions you dont acctaly lose anything ,since mmr system wont be changed (ever)
It would be just more meaningful;l for an average player no to be stuck in walz dance one step left 2 to the right and back,and see your points progress.

This i think, would also help avoid this mess all over again after new league starts.

So essential;y every tier has its own leader board where first( 10-20-30 players/teams get promoted and last demoted one league down)

Note on this, higher up leagues should have more chalaning teams which means it wont be easy to grind your way up since if you dont win no pips…
So grinding wont help if you constaly lose in ruby. you fall down next season/week

Grinding is biggest danger of all in this system of mine but you need to WIn to progress no mater 10 or 100 games if you dont win…

This sitation now rewards losing and very litle reward for wining and is very frustrating

(i personaly didnt have some drastic matches , with few exceptions it was ok progress for 2h a day play so im nopt entirly QQ here ,i trying to suggest improvements and point mistakes)

In any sport known to me you dont lose anything if losing.
Why ANET came with their punishment for los i can imagine but will not defend.
Could it not be made that every week ,you are lovered(or promoted) by score you have, to suitable league?
Would that be so horrible ?
This awfully reminds me of path of exile 10% exp lose on higher lvls wher you waist 1month of grind for 1 death/
Cmn anet peaple wont to have some fullfilment out of playing games not frustrations.
You should lose pips when
- afkeing
- losing 400+ p
- score 0 p
Every sunday adjust league roosters by swaping 200 players
(frequency and how many ppl is just wild gues and should be done according to actal player base,or even maybe every 3 days)

This way you could also controle multiple guild enteries by alowing only one team per tier as soccer teams do…

You can even make playoffs out of it for more fun

And for kitten sake promote those pro teams where they belong(amber

Srsly any guild team should automaticaly start at ruby div,and either they progress or stay in ruby hell for ever if they are bad.

This way first 3 leagues would be for casuals and solo q players,only later solo will need to deal with organised teams but if you get to ruby you are worth somthing and may be recruited by some team….

Well just a few toughts how to fix this mess imho

Not yet in sapphire, completed 2nd tier of emerald with a bit of strugle firest 4 games than pushed trough.
I was very lucky haveing no afkers and if teams it was ussualy equal for both sides,im supprised but i had really good games last night evenly matched.

Im bad revenant my sefl, but what kills me in any of the stances is cc chains ,and this is how i kill revenants also.
When in siro most rev use gap clsoer( axe4 bit less energy cosuming with dmg added )>UA and then most need to AA for some time if you are not J.Winded not so hard to evade
Almost on every toon i play ,i build with some boons striping skill very usefull not only vs rev.

And best time, to att revenant is just when they swap stance = no stun break for another 10s if they have it at all
If you can keep distance this will eventualy lead to swap in to siro,either to close or run away for some esaier targets.

I play latley on pow necro-cele ele- cele mes and pow engi and i have good win ratio vs rev …

1 shot trap. This is not PVP.

I found DH traps anoying but no op, you have enoug time to reach went they pop up, and you know you can dodge the trap. Now everytime I enter in a point I dodge roll just in case.

You can use stability, teleport, inmunity skills, break stun skills, and they don’t really do so much damage. Is the stun that is problematic.

People just need to learn how to play against traps. And going all to the same spot in mid where there are 1 DH, 1 Tempest and 1 scrapper and all died in 2 seconds because the traps and scrapper stun and the tempest use his air overload in all you, is no the way to do it!!

Sorry for the little rant.

But in general DH traps are balanced, still anoying but balanced.

I would have nothing against any guild having as many teams in leaderboards if their victories have been against other full pre made guilds.
Then that would be GUILD WARS,it could even develp to be an esport for real with more guilds oraganizing to put down abjured dominance,but since they behave like mobsters picking on weak its pathetic…

They sure made their point,but it seams PZ and abjured will have to take whole LB for themself to prove somthing(or get attention from devs)…

Wow, even now youhave ppl in saphire with no1 to play with and you lable it only as bad pre made purgatory?
There will be exatcly 3 players in diamond at the end of this season all others will be stuck in saphire – ruby going back and forward.

So wait, beter you play and more balnced match will lose pips but if you get demolished you lose nothing?
Shouldnt it be more rewarding instead of avoiding punishment ?

Now take everything just like you said but change roles losers and winers, if you win with those differences in points you get extra pip….

No rewards for losing mathces ,at best you dont lose pips only if against premade or against higher bracket players in oposing team…

Oh it happend already,didnt expect this for another week or so…
Next step is that you will be forced to boost some league 1 teams to help them up, or you will be asigned lowest mmr players posible ,so that you lose some pips.

is fair ,but it is not working as you described

far to much,ppl repetedly report strings of win or lose and of far to high skill gap betwean winer and losers.

“the system is trying to reduce the rating difference as much as possible”.
Facts stands that rating difference is huge and is making ppl unhappy,this is not only my view it is said by many before and after me.

That you reported that in january ,then it was fixed and bug same as that one was found in late July tells me a lot…

I linked post where dev cofirmed this ,called it a bug, later on and supposedly fixed it(reasonable doubt it wasnt fixed after ppl keep reporting same thing happening)

If i follow your logic system is creating fair game but only for an mid tier players of average rating of every team which is 1506(lets take your example)
This is twisted since only player "rank’ 1505.1506.1507 are wher they should be others are not…
These others are downgraded or eleveted to a position where they do not belong and hence forced in to 50% win .
The margins of system are very large and not as small as posible after all the observations form different players ,and now even pro players are confirming this fact.
It is more like having players (your ranking)
1100.1200.1300.1900.2100 vs 1400.1500.1660.1800.2000.
and geting an average of 1500

I think i understood statment and in betwean the lines of it,but i will not discuss this any more it was said before so just search previous posts on it and read …

At some point pro-teams will rank up and will have no1 to play with so they will forcebly diminsh their mmr or just get qued with lover tier teams .
Also this :
Like imagine Chicago Bulls playing vs “my highschool team” or at some point adding me in Finals to play for Bulls team vs Rockets
Its totaly insane, even if i have Jordan in my team i will make bulls lose or in another scenario my HST will get trashed by pro players.

Teams who abuse this (4premade +1pug) will get punished eventually,since at one point that one bad player will drag them down,and this one player who gets carried by good team will eventualy drag down some other pug by playing where he does not belong.
This abusive behavior proves that mmr “bug” was not fixed

This is not every1 for them self its team game, If they make new mode " there can be only one " or some other hunger game mode kill all around you, this mmr system would make sense.

Guys, it seems a lot of you still have fundamental problems to understand how the match making and based on that, the league system is currently working.

My overall winrate is around 60%

Let’s get back to some basics. For better understanding, let’s borrow some mmr-numbers from wow since our mmr-numbers are hidden.

After each individual match you play, the system will adjust your mmr-number. Let’s say you are an ok-ish player so the system will rank you with the mmr-number “1500”. A good player will have 2000 and a top esl player 2300.

In each individual match the system will let you 1500-player fight with other 1500-players and against other 1500-players. If the system works correct and everyone of the player has really the skill of 1500, your win chance is 50%.

You goal is to improve yourself. “I am not a 1500 player, I am a 1550 player!” If that is correct, you will win the match, and the system will further rank you at 1550. Everytime you are proving that the system ranked you too low, you are increasing your win rate.

NOW you are facing 1550 opponents. If that is true, you will 50% of every match you play at the 1550 level.

This is where the “50%-win-rate-effect” comes from. The system is trying to find suitable opponents for you. It takes some time till the system find the right spot for you, or maybe you are improving every time (while your opponents do not) that you have a win rate over 50% for that time till the system manages to find suitable matches for you.

Now to your current situation: Pre Hot you managed to play at skill level 1750, therefore the system placed you against 1750 opponents. Seems your skill level is far lower OR the level of the opponents is far higher, than the system has placed them. => your win rate is not 50% till it finds suitable opponents for you. Then you will go back to about 50%.

BTT: As long as the amount of pips you gain, is not effected by your mmr, the system is broken.
You are fighting against opponents of about your own mmr. Your current position in the league system is completely irrelevant. You will always fight for a pip.
A high mmr player will face high mmr opponents, he still fights for the same pip as an low mmr player facing a low mmr opponent.

Wrong, i can not find a where this is correctly explained even before HOt release and confirmed by dev(seams it got deleted),but please do the research before correcting and missinforming players

It goes something like if players rank 1 to 10 are queing at same time system wil always pair lowest ranked with highest ranked playe to equall wining chaces of the team
something like
10 -8-6-5-1
vs
8-8-7-6-2

This was confirmed by dev, later it was called bug, but it still works this way.

This forced 50win rate will get 90% of solo quers stuck in league 3-4 going back an forth since there you start losing pips and tiers as well.

So idealy it would work that players 8-10 never get mixed with lover tier players5-7,but since player base is low they mix all,and this is simply wrong as explained before many many times
This is where leagues should have fixed this, but since all start from same basket you have same problem all over again.
If they reset legues after 26/1/16 you will have same situation again.

I got desertion after i swaped class in that 1 min time before match,dont remember if we won or lost but i got desertion

Also i confirmed it sometimes when i que for ranked i get transfered to unranked.
If i que on unranked >leave>reque to ranked this happens sometimes.

The solution was to PLACE players in corresponidng league based upon existing number of games paleyd/win ratio and then let them fall or gain,you simply cant put every1 in same basket,cause you either boost newbie or strangle veterans.
That is geting abused by guilds this time is no wonder at all,it was abused before by f2p accounts and will be again ….

I noticed last night that when you’re just jumping into it, going in to ranked solo you will run into a lot of guild/premade teams right now since everyone is basically starting at the ground level. On the flip side, it’s filled with truly awful solo queuers, so you’re likely to get really horrendously bad teammates. Did a stronghold where none of my teammates even know how to play Stronghold at all.

Not sure why so many people are jumping into ranked while clearly having no earthly clue about the basic game objectives/mechanics.

Every 1 wants those wings i asume,and you are rewarded even if you lose if you get most points in the match,just watch sardine runs collecting points,bad luck if you get cought in it….

I love this “where you belong” comments just to put down ppl with out any argument or consideration…
I can bet that after this leageu we will have 60-70 % of soloQ player base stuck in league 2-3 going up or falling down 1 level(this could be in league 4-5 depending on penalty/ reward system and games necessry to play to fall/upgrade league), while only organized groups and guilds will be able to go up.
Core of the problem is that old MMr system is still used to determine teams, forcing 50% win

I would post here my scores if it would mean somthing but it doesnt after ony 9 games in “new” league

If it means somthing out of 9 games i had 2 against guild teams ,wher in one our pug crushed this pve guild and second we lost by 30p or somthing and other 2 was in my “favor” where i was in guild team and also 1 loss -1victory.

Why im telling this is, its pointless discussing this so early ,but fact stands that old MMr is stil used in new leagues and making ppl angry by grouping them by “teams with out they skill category” either rewarding or punishing.

I have that 50% win ratio so that is exectly where i wanted to be , by some miracle my goal was same as anets,but after 8k games i can tell when im rewarded and when im punished.

For now all pros and noobs are in the same bascet and for sure some are punished some rewarded .

Gosh, it’s called a Legendary division for a thing. If your win rate is less than 80%, why don’t you just accept that you gonna be in a lower divisions? Or just play a lot more to make up for that.

Lol will love to see que times for that legendary league made out of players with 80% win rate,after all games required to get there,wonder if you can even make one team.
Seriously some who has 80% win rate after 1k games is extremly good or her/his team is.

Agreed,i pointed this earlier and total reset every new league is insanity.
One thing i dont agree and i dont see how anet ,persist that is relevant is personal score points in match rewards ,since any good bunker build which contributed most of all for eventual win will hardly ever pass 100p.
This encourages ppl to just run around and cap/decap for 1-2sec land few aoe hits and get rewarded even if they completly ruined match.

Yeah Anet punishes more and more good play and promotes crazy chicken run.

You should start new league from where you were as in any sports you dont fall 3divisions down unless you cheated.

This also beats purpos of having leagues at all if every few months newbies have to compete with veterans and premades.

Why they dont make it as any other sports LEAGUE i dont understand but than i dont undrstand half the thing anet does (things how to squieze most out of pockest i understand very well)

I just checked leaderboards and i cant belive that ppl can play 1.4k matches(750wins and 650 losses ) in 2 days time???
Just how ?no eat no sleep ,multiple ppl playing same character on shifts ?
Really you need to be rolling over other teams and win in 2 min every match with out Q time to achive this (even than its not possible to squize in 48h if match lasts 2min)

And also i m prety sure i played 9 games last night in ranked(gw2 efficiency says the same) but i got only points for 4 games …

Ah and in game i got only 2 stripes for wining no deduction for losses aven tho all games were ranked..

you play 2 of it because with 2 you can switch condis back and forth for aoe resistance and the amount of conditions is high enough to take down classes that have enough cleanse/bypass teamfight cleansing. the same thing works with necros.. just that they’re not as mobile as revenants.

That is what i said if ,you need to have them togather all the time to maximise effect,i just saw O.Logo vs Vermilion and this just confirmed my toughts on it.
Btw i would give that win of theirs to engi ,ele and mes as most contributing to it revenats could have played any other clas with same results.
And logo maid some unbeliavble mistakes for their skill lvl.

Energy cost on pian absortion is to high to mainatin by one rev only .
This is also double edge in team fights if you have epidemic/spite necro or null field mesmer .

Ther are other ways of countering it,i just think ppl are not prepared for 2x rev right now its nothing special imho…

I think teams take 2 revenant for
radiant revival ,demonic defiance +boon striping from malyx, and quicknes on demand and 3sec stun on demand in shiro.

Condi dmg is nothing special for revean can be easily out dmged by many classes,and even bufs with out herald is sub par .

Im really suprised that no1 countered it yet , i didnt even watch these games but if you dont have these 2 revenants constantly togather(or paired with some other) their effectivenes is halved and 2nd rev should be replaced by anything else since they are not as good 1v1 and in holding points as tempest or druid or even reaper…

No i think that most teams play 2 rev just to promote class and to prove that in hands of a master anything can be good…

And as for cele amulet i think almost all elite specs are tailored to fit cele amulet.

Its not so easy to pull it off ,but if you stack condi on Mallyx revenant, than one good placed epidemic will wreck chaos in whole team …

Just cc , they have 2 utilities with stab on 1 sec cast time, if you cant rupt 1 sec cast practice more…
Even if you dont interrupt it ,stability is 8sec durration save your burst after that.

Hi just a short intro for me.
I play only pvp since CB,have about 8k games with 50% win rate on almost every class.

I usualy avoid meta builds unless they are only option and try to theory craft builds suitable to my play stile.
I Feel prety confident playing all except Wr and Revenant
After 3 years i also think i have good grasp on map startegies.

Great effort and “guide” to condi mesmer, i do applaud encouraing people to come with their own builds and your insight is very helpfull.
Ther is only one point i dont agree with you and that is Mirror heal.
I find it very ussefull with revenant runes and traited.
If you compare it with ether heal ,you can clean 2 more conditions in about same time (+5 sec) and reflect a LOT of ranged dmg ,and tnx to runes not negliable 2 sec resistance every 12sec.
I use it with Null field for a lot of resitance condi clears and boon striping.

Mirror traited and with revenant runes is best healing mesmer has now.
With resistance form null field and boon strip very high resistance up time + 4 sec reflect

Since im using only 2 wells, alactricity is not as good as illusionary reversion and super speed for illusions.

Mirror + null field have better condi clear than any other combinantion of heals +1 utility,also reflect on blink saved me a lot of time.
Rest is selfexplanationary .

Sometimes i switch for slow on interupt and portal instead of well depending of a team im in and with,but this version is best for point keeping i found so far…

I tried your build last night and as for theif with out stealth its best i tried so far .
My bigest problem is condi preasure and harder escape option than with d/p.

I tried Smoke screen as choice for 3th utility since staff #5 and dodge will stealth you for KD and is additional range protection .

Deadly traper with DH runes for 10insta might with more controled needle trap immobilize will give you same results (+5 vourneablity stacks)with only 4 sec in cd imho…
Tripwire same if not better with kd,you do have to sacrifice 3th utility tho

Just curious have you tried evasion runes?
Its not 100% crit as DD runes but it comes close…

They should unify each utility (wells ,signet,shouts,)in what they can do and make them same for every class and according to that adjust weapons kill.

Leave just one or two class specific utilities.

Narrow purpose of the trait lines: def-off-buff-hp-condi-elite

There will still be difference in armor for each class and class skills but i wouldnt touch that since it defines the class as it is.

Since they will never do this, balance will be hard to achive.
I think they are doing it on purpose , promoting some classes over other, depending on customer demand.

Since HoT is p2w and in it self hot specialistaions are prety balanced,since evry one is op except Wr and thief(latly i can see that ppl complain about thiefs to )
So all in all, if everything is op, everything is prety balanced for HoT players dont you think.

This also reminds me that after new trait spec in june, every one come qq-ing at forums about how every clas 1 shoots evryting and just a month later ,there are posts that its imposible to play this bunker meta,lol

Devs say one thing in one patch push a class in a specific role, and in next it is all a bug or nerfed to the ground,look at Druid

Reaper with marauder amulet can dish up serious condi dmg , i can put up to 200 ticks of bleeding 200poison and up to 500 chill dmg +fear,warhorn will cc that revanant for sure since it will pass that 1-2 stcks of stability he has.

If you hit thim while he has that buble on him i really wonder how your team got where it is(i dont play"pro" but this is just comon seanse even in spvp)

Read revenant forum page or even better play it and then come back asking for nerfs.
Any kind of cc preasure will destory revenant

It is not that all skills are instant,most have cast time +energy cost
Only in herald is revenat able to spam skills ,the very moment he swaps to anything else its pain .
Even when he is blocking – marks are unblockable and reaper 4-5 will put so much condi on revenant he will never get out of it.
Staff #5 is dodgable or side -step unlees it is don right after shadow step in shiro

Mesmer> revenat
Engi>revenant
Reaper> revenat
Dh if traps are set up before and can insta replace them followed with Lb5>revenat
(other wise i beat DH if he has no traps prepared and off cd with rev. casue i will use those traps to heal with those skills you mentioned)

Good thief> rev(slow daze)
Good wr>rev(longer cc than rev on much lower cast time will do the job)
Only one that i really have no problem or have most success fighting with revenant are Druids.( Pew pew rangers are serious nuisance if the know wht they are doing)

I have also seen posts DH,Chrono,Reaper,Scraper is op that means that half of the classes are about just as balanced as they should be,its just ppl not knowing how to fight em.

Only thing i can say its OP 100%, is DH LB#5 with that stupid barrier i can only cry myself to death if i get cought in it.,now there is i skill i have not found counter play for,(unless u have stability rdy and of cd )

I think that would be just a bit 2 much…
Stun is stun you know, cant do anything move tablet or anything if you dont break it.
Traited its on 10s cd for a whole team which is a lot,a lot of(bugged) stability on fairly low cd if they fix this it would help a lot.
If they only make one ventari utility break stun it would be ok ,all to OP

Also if they make every legend with stun break it would be to much,you simply cant have everything in one legend.

Auto summmon tablet ,less enrgy consumption,secondary effect on utilities would make ventary good , that is what majority here agrees on.

My personal wish would be to have tablet for each utility , and to have rune that will work with tablets ,but i dont think they will ever make it.

try this i made it with an idea of just point holding ,you have no range,but you have 2 blocks ,2 eva ,2 heals on block 10s stun break decent condi clear…
This said you need to time all skills dodge and you can be very anoiyng to kill.
I hope to replace herald with ventari some day but for now herlad is superb just because energy consumption…(you can also facepalm yuor utilities after swap for imidiate buffs,rly no skill for this legend as some1 said only problem is how fast you can press all buttons)

I just switch runes sometimes ,surging or revenant depending how i judge oponent .

I held 1 vs3 , 2 lb rangers and ele (im not judging a quality of a players could be they just dont know how to counter revenant) but somhow i just managed to time my shield and herald heal to their LB burst,very funy match .
On the other side i lose to good players which know when to stop attacking ,when to cc.
One Player always waited for my sword 3 ,then drag me in midst of his group and finish me in few sec(you always end animation at targets location) so i was thinking to try mace /sword for block and cc.

This is just what works best for me .

P.S.

Just had few matches and this really shutdowns DH trap builds ,with all blocks and evasions ,you can purposfouly triger traps for a heal or just to help team avoid them ,while you soakup all dmg.

Also this is side note,Jalis Inspiring reinforcement is either heavyly bugged or simply wrong,Most of the time i get stability after 2s.
If considering cast time + travel time ,triger time (if it trigers after 1s of imaginary buff) it hsould not take longer than 1-1/2 s but it takes much longer an sometimes for ever to get that stability.
