Its Okish,if you have hgh and buid up might before engaging its fun ,if you get Rampage mode on elixir X its rly godly for 10sec but nothing more,i tryed it with inventions ,tools and aclhemy ,hydromancy and enrgy sigils and hoelbrak runes.
If you dont get elixirs for might you will not have dmg to kill anything at all,try it dont let any1 tell you its no good,it may be it just needed your stile to shine…

The current meta SA DP thief has great mobility, utility and survivability. If such build can also contest side point 1v1, it becomes pretty OP. It’s almost like another DD ele.

Remember in an 1v1 against thief, if you lose, you will surely die. The thief has enough gap closer to ensure that happen. However, if the thief loses, he can always leave and find a chance somewhere else.

Thief has always been the No.1 WvW roaming class. This says a lot in its potential of 1v1ing. It’s just that in conquest mode. Thief excels in other areas that it’s worth giving up some personal fighting power for.

Not true,theif can never hold a point due to stealth,and can not decap sa good as d/d ele or revenant or engi.

Unlike other classes which have hard counters inv frames thiefs have only evade, and stealth ,which confuses only new players,since most skills will follow you in too stealth and dmg you in steallth,you are in no way invurneable in stealth and this is a fact that most ppl ignore.

Unlike other classes ther is only and only one role thief can play now and not very good unleasse you are supper skilled player with ,uber reaction time and coordination.

In most casses if you are realy stuborn and stealth – dmg -run-stealth dmg run after few min you can kill some1 (good player on a class ,with build OPTION ,2 defend or support)defendig point,this how ever more dmgs your team than helps.

Only displacment skill is scorpion wire which is unpredictable and unreliable so you cant decap efficiently.

Sb 5 i would give you any time for decent condi clear utillity skill ,and not the 2 lame options we have now.

Some 1 mention condi Thief and i cant believe that was even considerd and option since any engi ,necro even trap ranger will bring so much more to the team, due to ridiclous cd on venoms and a fact that this needs to be executed in team fights where after first voley you are mostly dead.

Those very same classes i mentioned above will rect you in second condi vs condi.

I dont remember if it was Cb when pistol #3 didnt need to hit to execute then it was the King of a mobility in truth ,simply cause it gave option beside Sb to do so.

Simple conclusion is ANET boxed thiefs in ONE single role which they are not alowed to do best,since ppl still cry about OP stealth,lol

I have posted thisas a replay for “how to deal with conditions” but its also working to deal conditions.
I prefer version with shield OH but p/p is also deadly,( to be honest it works with rifle also)
I did chnage elite to mortar for opening with longer range and another elixr.( i was playing with idea of full elixir buid and sentinel amulet for durability and tools instead of firearms but this works so much better for me) and it gets all benefits of elixir build for might stacks ,few sec less but its ok.

I have repeteadly gain top scorer condi clear and top condi dmg with this even with guards and other support classes around,and i did another change from elixir R to elixir b for stability and disa pontment with elixir R( it could be lag or somthing but latly it doesnt help when downed at all, me or my teammates get stomped before it kicks in even if i revive some1 and have elixir kicking i cant rev before stomp rly strange)
Any way i constantly run with 24 stacks of might with this build and is not so easy to kill even when p/p.
If focused,well these days no1 can survive much if focused…

How is Matchmaking for You Guys Lately?

PPl are busing f2p ,by making alts and hoping to improve their main account mmr.
If they get in same match alt will go afk or sudden dc .
If they dont get in same match alt will dc and just play normaly.
Since it need very litle games to get to r20 and very litle gamse to improve mmr when you have 100-200 games this is easyly done.
Further more since beta char will be wiped players are using this the same way.
It was bad before now its just terible

I had 5 afk dc out of my last 8 fights,and in one of them where i wa playing guard i went mid,while 2 went far a nd 2 went close .
I held mid vs4 for about 20-25 sec and when i revived i saw we lost home and far ,just how????
So yeah skip weakends is only solution, let beta and f2p have their fun alone…

Not only that we have f2p accounts abusing alts,now beta character are abusing it also.

Since beta character will be wiped some players take ranked as testing area and go afk(or paly for alt ).
Further more since it is beta testing some classes have bugs and are either Op or broken ,and thus effecting teams they play for .

Another thing that we acctualy dont know what we are playing against and what are streanghts and weaknesss of beta character .

I was hoping i could play till HoT realese on even ground but it seams i will have to skip beta weakends 2…

lag and dc ss are unbelivable now .

This was one of the reasons i stoped playing GW2 for a year but now its back last 2 weaks,constant dc and games ending 4vs5,add some afk and yeah realy enjoyable expiriance.

Ranked should be baned for f2p and beta

Yeah strange it doesnt work at all ,
any way i do have EG in build for reasons you stated,elixir U and elixir B as utilities and elixir X. Heal is elixir H

Enegry and doom sigils hoelbrek runes and sentinel amulet.

Alchemy for obvious might resaons, tools for boon duration and kinetick baterry + static discharge ,since Im using F skills a lot.

Inventions as 3th trait line for speed as , and heal proc,although crit rate is low:(

That is the case only for wr and ele , and hard stun effects which make no difference to me since if you are interuppted by anything for a second you are simply interuppted end of story.
Yes you are right all in all there are more melee CC than range but i would say it 60% :40% in for meele.

So i was just curious what would you ppl think about this build?
Idea behind is very simple stack might before match starts ,
you can stack 18 on self and 10 on team with 34 sec duration.

At the start of the match by the time you reach the point 3 elixirs will recharge and you can have full 25 stacks and then transform oponents and self and clear the point:)

I palyed with sentinels for you dont have any def mechanism execpt health pool and toughnes for direct dmg and dodges ofcourse,and it seams to be working fine ,here i need your opinions ,tnx

What does ranege have to do with stability pls explain?
Ranager can knock youback form range mesmer can interupt from range theif can interupt from range,even necro can fear from range , engi can 2,and you can them .
So why would a range class need less stability than one going melee?

Try this, in a few games i played i always get a title top player condi clear or how ever its named..

U have exlir c and mortar -lyssa combo for large stacks + elixir c to cleans teammates + 12sec on elixir r although it pins you to very small location to have full effects for this and is very ussefull for revivals.

Its very defensive and you will find poison your best dd.

P/s for some blasts and range reflect,and justa tiny bit of condi preassure
If focused how ever by pow classes u die ,fast:(

I need to test it with sentinel amulet just for higher hp toughness ,and try to stay alive and rev clean team discarding all dmg…

One thing they ignore or dont wont to fix is trait lines which should be soreted by their attribute and finaly make each proffesion have offensive -deff trait lines and ot bundle up everything in one bigg mess in which they least off all know where is a mistake.

They done it to ele and dont know how to get out,hope this time they fix at least something .
Im sure no mater what they do ppl will still cry, opnes here opnes there, nerf and buff more,but refused to see everything is boxed in very few solutions……..

This happens to me all the time wining and loosing streaks that prompt each other.
It is as said in some other post system is “punishing” your for to much wining and “rewarding” you if you loose to much.

With free to play accounts it even more noticable sinc ether is more low ranking player in pvp that have to be matched up and fill missing spot,and last thing lagg is horible these days horible to a point that i dont get a desync on stomp i get DC

It’s because it’s hard to judge individual skill in GW2 Conquest PvP. The only way to determine if you’re performing better than anyone else is if you have a good end score average via team points and it’s only noticeable by playing a lot of games.
Hopefully the point system is working as intended and it’s a more detailed system than the algorithm that’s on the wiki.

This is not correct yesterday we won a match 500 to 200ish somthing, where our best player had 90p all other members of our team had 45p,
while their best player had 170 and worst 90p

When some start accusing you for noobnes due to point u made its the sign the he is acctualy the biggest noob there.

Avereage of the team is also missleading due to aoe and point holding.

Its not unheard of they have done it in Archage where you can mix traits from 3 proffesions ,and combant is not much different than the one here.

So impossible balancing isue is acctualy no exccuse:( ,

I wont drag this topic any more ,it was just my SHOUT of regrets of what could have been great game,since this still is best game for me at this moment.

Best crafting system ever in any game i played, and good PvP( option to just play PvP and lvl and develop your character form the very beggining is what i like best) which could have been great

Since they took away stats on trait lines ,they come very close to overcome that balancing isue.
Further more this would require to finaly have one trait line buff one specific weapon /utility and play stile ,not like right now u have various traits spread accros whole tree.

Maybe offer just 2 specialization lines that can be used as sub class,but certanly i wold like to see theif having virtues or shater,or even death shroud(with slightly different effect)
Wr having virtue or a engi kit,so many posibilities…

Well i know that a lot of ppl will dissagree with me and i will get a lot of hate for this and “that is not posible how to balance it”thing but i have to say it..

Since you decided too rework all classes with new spec system why o why didnt you make it as in gw1 cross class system wher you simply pick one trait line from other clsses get additional Fx skill from that class ,one utillity and elite from that class and one weapon.
I mean build diversity would be insane and fun only class that would need complete rework is thief due to initiative thing .
I know its to late but what a shame that even after all your effort all proffesion will have 1-2 playble builds for PvP

It was always and in every game i played that first to buy spends most money on it,and later everything goes cheaper including game store.
I was happy i bought Gw@ at the time i did and is worth avery single cent i spent on this game even if i only play PvP so i lose a lot of content in PvE,but…

To pay additional 50euro few specializations, its bit to much for me, and its easier to find new f2p game have fun in discovering somthing new,
than to pay and have 4/5th of the game alredy known for me this is just a patch they do every now and then.

Further more i stoped playing for more than a year due to Anet incompetence to solve some balance isues in PvP ,constant dc ,afk ,rewards in PvP beeing for Pve players, only one build per class…

So after a year and somthin of a pause :

Still you get unstable servers -ppl dcing, no will or effort to balnce classes each class stil has just one if they are lucky 2 competitive PvP builds.

Build diversity is even less then waht was at the beggining:(

And PvP rewards where you get a chest, in side of a chest is a pouch,
in side of a pouch is another chest and elixir, in side of a elixir is a chest and a pouch, and in side of a puoch that was in a aelixir ,wich was in a chest you get ,gues what another chest.

And cherry for this chest -puch- elixir cake klicking kitten for ever is:
you get a showel and a key, to go and digg in a PvE map,
i mean some1 is crazy here and im sure im not…

Or maybe i am if you expect me to pay 50e for just a patch and do this again.

Further more you promised a cosmetic elite spec which will not affect, PvP and ppl with just basci game wiil be competative,my kitten!

With all above said it was stil worth many i paid but i will not pay for same thing twice, and you can call it expansion or a patch or how ever you like .

It looks to me that now is prefect time to buy gw1 it seams, and just enjoy new game:)

Im prety sure that in game EG #5 had same description as builder did it remove aditional condition im not sure,im sure that moratars #5 even itdid have same description in game, didnt remove any condi.
And btw healing mist needs a bottle opener animation, since you are not drinking it or throwing it ,right now it looks like you are farting that kitten elixir ,how that can heal i have no idea…

And sorry back to build with some changes it could turn out to be good ,like taking armor of earth to give yourself time to cast overloads.
But even if never overload and play it saefly mostly in earth you will be hard to kill due to elemental conitgency + elemental attunement 10sec prot(so no need to overload)and earthen proxy+ earth it self (+180toght)will give perma protection.
Im not sure if you can bite protection buff with just starting and cancelling overload cats,if you can))

Further mor ele,bastion is not so useles even if you dont overload since you can cast auras you self, and i choose focus OH for its reflection+ invurn and swirling winds

I used to play soldier ele with similar set up and Ds and was prety hard to kill

So trust me it wont be so easy to pass that 10% border of Ds with -50% dmg and than you can just chose arcane briliance or ether renewal as heals.

Well yeah you are right cast times are incredibly long ,but since its jus testing i hope it will be changed,just cd increasment is enough of a penalty for over loading.

But i dont understand why so fus about" its nothing new" ,i mean so far all classes get same thing in lil bit different package…
Only mesmer and wr have something completly different to look forward to,and honestly dragon hunter is way worse than tempest

Sure warhorn is disapointment but they didnt bother to change focus or scepter for 3 years .
Im trying to find a part that i could enjoy ,and it does honestly offer an escape from ussual water -arcane duo.

It looks to me that they tried to create -earth-water -arcane hybrid in this trait line,and put more epmpahsis on wht ANET thinks ele should do in this game,and that is team support and heals.
If how ever cast times stay this exagerated i dont think many if any will use it since effecta do not justify that long cast time (execpt aura thing wich is bit op)

This is the impression that i have since they created new specialization instead of old trait lines ,which i liked better ,is that they wont to push classes in to certain rolles…

To be completly honest i will wait till realese to buy this hot extension since its kitten effort from ANET to make some more gold, but even kitten its still best game on market so far.

Im not sure this will work in reality,but with overloaded attunements you can have perma protection for -50% dmg reduction + aditiona aura of your choice + heal + if its frost aura its -60% dmg are you kidding me ?

I play with cele amulet but dont use that build,if im not cced i can hold point prety well aginst 2 ppl,paired with a guard i had moments of 2vs4-5 holding point in ranked(by this i mean holding it 20-30 sec till support comes).
Question is would that be the same with better oponents?
Truth is i dont know ,im not some super player ,it could be i was just lucky,but this wasnt one time occurance either…

Yes you are absouiltely right about that,still new reapers shroud has only 2 insta cast skills.
On the other hand there is also blind>chill>might ,
fear >chill>might that could be very dengerous to be cought in for a thief .

Dont get me wrong i do not main any clas im just excited about new possibilities thats why i loled,but i think Op is right, thief will be one of the hardest 1v1 for necro imho,since all weapons have long cast skills,and can be interrupted before you get to shroud.

Easyest duel for thief right now is necro there is no necro skill that has lower cast time than 2/4sec ,most of them are 3/4.

Shroud is realy delight for a thief 2 interupt ,only fear skill 3 has no cast time,if i want to kill necro with thief with patince and time i will most of the time , just by timing properly d/p 4 – steal and basilisc.( i still prefer to avoid it 1v1 due to huge health pool and time necesery to do it)
3 new dazes with added dmg,omg thats gona hurt:),if succesfull cd increase 10sec,that is death shroud shutdown ,lol

With dardevil there is also an option to have best regen heal of all classes now, just by going acrobatics for assasin reward wich will give you about 500 heal on s/d 3 and add 450 per evade that is almost 1k heal ,prety spamable also
Mabe we will final see some thief bunker builds worth playing,and im happy about that:)

First thing i think if they want to keep current Cd times adn life time ,they should make them invincible.

Not sure about sword ,
but bow should deal serious dmg(like ele bow) and cure more condi+chil.
Shiled should do the healing bow does and grant protection and aiegis,
hamer should be more aoe ,and retaliation or weaknes on hit.

If they dont make them invurneable ,then same as minions live till killed and certanly more life to them ,u can kill tham all in few sec as it is now.

I sometimes change Locust sig for grasp to cc ppl with wall mostly when i face ranged classes and i laso somtimes change to Mercy runes and somtimes Dolyak or Traveler (when I change to grasp speed is rlz necesery)

It also works well with sentinel or soldier amulets depending of team composition i chang it a lot..

Other wise like all necros very supceptable to CC , so worst enemies are WR thiefs and mesmers

Very good at hoding points if enemy has no cc i sometimes can hold against 2-3 players ,needs another player around you tho for full potentional for unhouly sanctuary and unhouly martyr to have full effect.

I use to run Death perception but ditched it for FIG for at least some stability wich is very much needed.

D/D ele: which nerfs?

I think that main culprit is arcane trait line
- Arcane fury needs icd at least 15sec, no other class has so much fury on so low cd ,
no let me repharse it no othe class has constant fury…

- Evasive arcana needs to have icd for all atunements not just one (at this moment you can dodge in all atunemnts one after other for effects,i didnt play my ele for almost 2 years but i think it used to have this before

Swap should have 5sec icd (this should cover evasive arcana icd )on all attunement after swap and cd after swap on 12sec. Reason is you cant catch a good ele in that water attunement he jsut goes out of water to fast.¨

Second culprit is not fire trait line but dager skills 3 and 4.

I mean there is no other skill as burning speed its a:

-fire field
-evasion frame
-aoe
-blast finisher
-condi dmg + burst dmg
-and its on 600 range so it s very good gap closer on just
-15sec cd,rly most op skill of any and all in game…

Ring of fire
its applied when you acctually tuch that ring its still hard to avoid in group
its another fire field with a good cover( its almoust as whole node )on just a 15sec cd

With new specialiyation lines its no more important if a trait is minor,master or GM
its important to have counters and i dont c any foult in fire line or anything that should be done differently.

With out arcana, fire or any other line is just ok as it is its arcane trait line that need reworking it makes every other line much more than it is by it self

For example ele contingency should compete with renewing stmiana and arcane precision,
and final shielding with evasive arcana,its just to easy now to get everithing def and off in arcane right now+ minor traits need icd

Remove Celestial Amulet temporarly

One thing i really dont understand why celestial has more total stats than eny other amulet?

Other wise i think this amulet works for most classes for some better to the point it excelss in competative lvl, for some its just possible to run fun build but for a thief this amulet is totaly usseles:(

also that total stats in match making should be taken in cossideration as, to not have bunker teams vs power only team ,multiple ele or theifs ect…

But as lunar says its easylly abused if u swap classes,and ANET doesnt wont to change this part of game.
I dont see a reason why not since most ppl play with a 1 character per day and dont want to swap class,just lock the classes when match making start rolling.

If i understand correctly algorith already works partialy the way you described it should work hence thay creatde ligues to narrow the way ppl will be qued wich is good.
My only concern regarding this new system is that everyone is starting from the begginig…
I think players shoukld be asigned to a league that best suits their current MMR.

To avoid teams created by super pro players and super new players wich will either drag down super good player with score of then by incompetent player with score of in a same team or it will elevate that same incompetent player by luck of beeing in a team with suppr pro…
So my idea is to place players with x -number of games games and x-win % in corresponding leagues right form the start

playes with
<500 games and new players in lowest league
500-1500 games in second
1500-2000 games in 3th and so on,leave only last 2 leagues empty and as reward leagues ,somthing like champions league in soccer

Every next season you get reasigned according to your succes or failure,but never as they intend to do now, every1 from the beggining.
if every1 starts from scratch it will lead 2 what is happening right now.

For example i have super wining streaks and super loosing streaks of games ,
where im placed with teams either to high above my lvl or to low form my lvl and i can not fall or advance due how stupid this is ,its realy rare that i have evenly played matches with 100-50p difference .

If you use all traits for spirit weapons: burn on hit ,50% dmg and 10% dmg on burning foe + cd reduction and durration that means you are looking at 6.6.0.0.2 and with zerker amulets sword and hammer can do each 1.5-2k dmg every 3 sec(4 sec on hammer) if i remember correctly my tests could be wrong on att frequency since i didnt use it for a long time but dmg numbers should be right.

Where does this leave you for survival utilities judge your self…

I don’t see anything will change with these buffs on spirit weapons at all.

Guardian will still have to sacrifice most of all classes just for bit added dmg.
Honestly will you ever equip bow with 60s cd?
No
Second thing, guardians weapons are so squishy and so easy 2 kill that is really not even a threat to any1 ,now they at least don’t suicide.
And last to have some dmg from these AI super killers, guard needs to spec as glass cannon and with weapons as utility its kamikaze build all over,so yeah still LOL when you see spirit guard:)

What would really make diversity in build is cross profession builds,like you get 3 trait lines from main and 2 trait lines from secondary profession + weapon set from secondary profession,
but balancing that OMG.

Ok must admit that my posted build isn’t the best, but with few tweaks it can work,played few Spvp games and even with out AA torment it can do significant dmg.
(I will not post tweaked version, for this discussion was not abut my build)

If they fix the pathing for phantasmal mages then ,mage will stack 6 stacks of confusion on two targets with IE.

And Even with out IE buff, gs 2 was one of the most damaging skills considering that in only 5 sec you can have 12 stacks of might if close enough and same stacks of vulnerability on enemy .

So soon after a patch you can expect a lot of QQ and ppl demanding for mesmer nerf

I love how some of pps here a capable of completely overlooking a point of my post ,and blindly following some1 else’s opinion and that when even not really looking in what i posted,and ignoring facts while focusing on some minor things that i stated i didn’t even take in to consideration while making this build .

With this "flaved build you ca easyly have 6-7 stacks of torment 6-7 stacks of consfusion ,almost perma retaliation which will not hit hard but will hit you never the less .
And you can have 2 sce block on 6 sec cd and if u take guardian runes some nice 700dmg tick of fire for just blocking,oh i forgot u get some 200tick of retaliation after you block so yeah…

And this was just a general idea,who says u cant take pistol offhand and get some nice stacks of bleed and all this is on very short cds .

But hey suite your self and think boxed thoughts im not gona force you out…

I will test this after the patch and tell you how it works:)
It was something made in 10 min, trying to prove that you can make a build which will throw at you all conditions in a mater of 5-7 sec,with very high base condition stat, and promotes self punishing play stile(move and get damaged ,use skill and wil get dmg)…
as for the utilities i didn’t even bother to think wht to put after signet of domination for adding condi dmg ,but yeah ill give it some thought and come with even higher condi stat than this…
And was a response on why condi ele hasnt existed…
So that was a point in this build, have a high condi dmg with a tons of conditions you can actually apply on your opponent….

Im more inclined to give guards and theifs some buffs so that they can use it as ele can and have more build diversity ,and nerf or remove battle sigil and nerf over all dmg for bunker builds/amulets…
It is true how ever that celestial gives highest amount of raw stats…
But if you play d/f ele and with any other amulet than celestial that blast on frozen burst is needed cause,
wht is left to you in terms of finishers is
-comet blast which i would love to see some1 time perfectly to that fire line field u have from burning speed,
and i can blast my magnetic wave and lose one of the best def skills for some might .

So yeah lets all play d/d ele ,lets all play H/B wr and s/d thiefs and nerf and buff weapon and traits according to wishes of players that use them best since they “know” most about that class,hell yeah ….
Having good hand reactions ,fast pc and Internet connection doesn’t make u in to Ainstain or some all knowing Oracle

Oh and don’t forget that scepter mesmer can hit highest cond.dmg stat in game i think if not highest then second best…

Condi ele didnt exist cause Ele can apply 2 (two) damaging conditions burn and bleed and thats it,your reasoning fails here…

But you did pretty much hit the nail with that remark, scepter/torch will now be able to apply all conditions and in pretty high stacks with just one weapon set with right sigils,
and if u add retaliation which mesmers don’t have to look far to get even boons are working for condi memser just blocking and auto attacking,lol

here it took me 10 min to make this ,it will punish you for anything you do while i can apply ALL condition on you in few sec:)

Really cause one build you want to crile all d/x ele builds wtf ?

I seee thare are celestial wr,engi,mesmers necro .
Only 2classes that dont profit are thiefs and guards .
Instead of nerfing give thiefs and guards legit build with celestial,instead of nerfing give all professions diversity in build and weapons and we might move from this 2 year blind spot.
Nerf amulet but dont tuch ele skills, if anything some off hand skills and utilities need buff not nerf..

With traited Axe you will have full adrenalin bar any way ,problem is that if you go for axe of hand you will need to go full zerker ,air /fir /rage sigils , no use having axe.

Even before this change i could down player in 5 sec with gs/mace-axe or if i dont kill them im down in 5sec its just good enough to have fun in hot join bursting noobs in any serious play ,ppl will recognize wht you do, and focus you next respwn and your role is to die hard….

So axe with out that reflect that stolen version has is crap (i really dont get it why is stolen version so much better that real thing?)

Another thing after the patch any miss with main hand be it axe,mace,sword will diminish your whirling cause lets admit it not all ppl are stupid to stand and watch you whirl them 2 death(i did once kill 3 player trying to revive one with 100b/axe-whirl so yeah noobs exist)
Oh yeah with my build 6.4.0.0.4 i used healing surge for full adrenalin at start of the fight now even this is out of the question, so yeah im back to cheese signet for passive heals,so even for fun purposes healing surge is out of question:(

So in a conclusion every1 will run H/B now:(
Anet is making this a card build(premade hero- LOL tipe of play)

If you watch TOL you will see that 90% of warriors did carry banner as elite, not signet …

So with 90% of player already running HB this is not a big problem i agree on that

Waiting 5more second would be better then lose adrenalin on miss…
If i remember correctly theifs’s steal was at 14 or 18 sec at 1 point,could be my memory is wrong…

Any way posiblity that you cc some1 for 2-3 sec clean 3 cond and all that every 7 sec is a bit 2 much,now all weapon sets except the main culprit will suffer for this change but h/b duo will stay the same with min skill required 2 execute,so yeah laugh all you want…
If they have done this before skullcrack nerf there wouldn’t be need 2 nerf scullcrack or nerf adrenalin now it wouldn’t be abused by h/b …

I gues i was one of the few who use d/f and i don’t find 2 difficult to beat average thief.
Most thiefs in Sq will ware zerker and try to burst you down , one thing to remember they have no unlimited initiative so they have sequence to attacks ,i find s/d with all the dodges much harder to beat then stealth tipes,simply cause they are not invulnerable in stealth.

Generally u go to air atonement since d/x nr1 skill has cleve and will hit stealth-ed thief,
while scepter auto will follow in to stealth and electric discharge will hit sometimes even when stealth-ed ,signets will also hit stealth-ed thief.
Pets ,stroms and arcane wave halp a lot .

Well keep offensive dont let them press u in to defensive stance…
AS for s/d thiefs its just pure luck if we are equally skilled chances are they will win more then not .
If they are very skilled in presing nr.3 and dodge in beatwean i can just watch them jump around and my hp going down:(

Omg , focus , for almost all classess be it guard ,mes, necro, ele, has ussualy 1 disrupt/cc skill and 1 def oriented skill and that is exactly what pistol off hand do.
I dont wont to repat my self over somthing that probaly never come to exsitance in gw 2 ,but if mesmer can have torch that will stealth him i don’t see why thiefs can’t???

And yeah ,being able to stealth summon fellow thief and wht ever not, doesn’t count as magic in your book???

I mean rly troll as much as you want after this you will be ignored

Hm offhand pistol awfuly remainds me of ele focus skills it may be that u fire a bullet instead of chanaling what ever magic u have but at the end is almost same effect.

As for torch i see that mesmers have their coockie and eating it ,with uh can you immagine, stealth and fire burst in same weapon and skill

We have awfouly lot smoke fields with out a fire around

I like idea of residual venom and venoumous aura sharing trait line, and making them bit stronger ,choice – help my self or a team is a good 1.
Not sure if giving venoms effets as necros well’s would be too much in this case but it would sure make it more interseting…
And to differentiate i would give traps some combo fields and larger area of effect.

I dont see why theifs cant use torch focus and rifle.
What pistol of hand is doing is more focus weapon description than pistol.
It would be nice to have torch for some burni and rifle for somthing more like assassin/sniper role,hell if ragers can stealth with Lb why cant theif have rifle…

I have same problem as you,i didnt play my thief for a long time and found my self learning from scratch,wht i do if i c turret engi is go help elswhere.
But i found this 2 be a general rule i dont try to 1vs1 just pick targets that are focused already and burst them down,may be cowardly but thats how team wins im not so good in 1vs1:(
Before that priority 1 is to get LB rangers and staff ele AOEing from distance
