So, Ebonhawke is Ascalon’s 2nd chance?
Main: Endeavorr
It might not be a bug, it could be a reference to the Wyld Hunt. What stops a human at poking fun? Also, the term became famous, sort of interchangeable with “calling, destiny, duty, ect.”
Main: Endeavorr
^ Hah, Todd… That was my favorite character in Atlantis, partly because I like the actor and his role in Star Trek. The Largos seem to also share the same accent as Quarions from Mass Effect, albeit, I don’t know if that’s another reference or just a coincidence.

To me, the one thing that will make Trahearne fine with me is a cutscene of an explosion and him walking away from it, because you know, cool guys don’t look at explosions.

What are the expectations for Ebonhawke and what do we expect from the Separatists and Renegades (ironic how they share a common goal). I for one, loved Ascalon and all my human characters trace their lineage back to my Warrior who witnessed the searing and is now an Ascalonian Ghost Commander. I remembering reading on the creation of Ebonhawke and truly would love to see it expanded, heck, if GoM, HoD, and another Tier 7 world become merged I would love to see the world’s name become Ebonhawke, heh.

The way I see it, every branch has a notable character or characters. Prophecies had Rurik, Factions expanded upon Mhelno and introduced Togo (Fractions, to me, was more about the monk henchmen than the playable character), Nightfall had Kormir, now EoTN has many characters and expands upon Jarlis, EoTN was the definitive change. After EoTN, the War for Kryta focused manly on Logan’s ancestors and then LA with the mursaat. For every story, there has to be a character that receives credit to progress the lore. With that said, I would love to see Trahearne become more socialable and relatable with future updates (possibly the cleansing of Orr)

Let’s not get into a kitten match here, Proscuter.1457 and Llyrx.3497.
As for GoM, I’m not an original to it, I transferred to it week two from Henge do to friends that were on the server. I’m glad I did, I’ve seen all the divides within GoM, I’ve seen people leave because they weren’t satisfied with WvW but you know what, I’m glad those people left. A fellow officer just told me that she saw someone who was “afk” at the spawn without clothes dancing, she PM’ed the person and effectively told them they were a disgrace to GoM. Now, I can’t speak for Henge and it’s problems but both servers have gone through a lot and deserve some respect. The posts that effectively state they’re leaving GoM and HoD, I say good, those servers don’t need cookie-cutters, those servers need people who are dedicated (now, it would be nice if those servers merged into a possible Ebonhawke world.

I wouldn’t see it as a bug. We can party with members of other worlds and do dungeons so that mechanic is the same. It could be an oversight though; as for the player being able to send you a request, they can’t see your name in WvW so either they were someone you met previously or a member of your guild.

After the recent reset on December 28th, I noticed that on EB alone we had 6 commanders; 4 of them never seen before which threw off the other 2 commanders. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen new faces; so I’m curious, who moved to another world?
Main: Endeavorr
Coming from GoM from the very start; I really enjoyed fighting Anvil Rock but now, my favorite enemy is HoD. It was hilarious when HoD was defending the inner castle and Gate of Madness just went around and surrounded them from behind (Thanks to Guardian for leading that on an alt…under cover commander there).

Also, sorry for the late post in thread as it could easily cause confusion. On a side note; Risen Mursaat…

But then again, both of these size measurements (and “20 times larger than Glint”) comes from Edge of Destiny, which made Kralkatorrik seem both tiny and humongous at the same time (how can something only 1,000 feet tall block out the sun?).
Simple… it’s all perspective. As stated, the descriptions are given by Edge of Destiny. Think of sitting under a tree, you look up and the sun is completely gone. Now with the undead, a haze also comes which could block out light too. Then again, we weren’t there, we haven’t seen it man (stereotypical Vietnam veteran turned hippie voice)

The areas that spark my curiosity are attached.
The areas right of Ascalon spark my curiosity because Humans expanded westward upon arrival to Tyria; so perhaps there are more human kingdoms. I’m sad though, Ascalon has always been my favorite kingdom in any game (wish Kryta and Ascalon could trade places). As for the awkwardly drawn islands to the far left, they just look enticing.

The way I see it, Tybalt is presumed to be dead because surviving Claw Island is a slim chance however, Tybalt is crafty. I would love to see two scenarios played out to explain his fate; 1) He lived by some engineer magic and is reunited with the player in Orr. 2) He died and is a champion that must be dispatched in Orr (if that’s the case I’d love to see him as an added “bonus” in Arah.

I’m running an 8-core FX8150 and a AMD Radeon 7700 Series, PvE and WvW run smoothly.

As an engineer, I support this suggestion.
Though, when one skill is added; every profession should have the same treatment, especially when it comes to an elite skill.

My human warrior is a direct descendent of my GW1 warrior. Different first name but same last; as with that, he traces his ancestry back to Ascalon and the Ebon Vanguard. As for my GW1 Warrior, he died a warrior’s death fighting Flame Legion invaders both for humanity and for the liberation of other Charr (as his heart was lightened with the events of EoTN). He is not a Ascalonian Ghost, created by a weak act of a weak and mad king but in the mists; waiting to meet his descendent.

That veteran risen giant reskinned as a risen santa would be hilarious.

+1 for comment above

Now, before this post becomes inflamed in any way what so ever; this is a place to post pictures of your world’s current score (whether or not it is losing or winning is beside the point). The main point is to laugh off any frustrations but also call some much needed attention for those people ho love challenges.
Thanks!
Now, here’s my world, Gate of Madness.

Yes, having the option to purchase with karma and coin would be nice; even if it means that really one can purchase a piece with the karma they accumulated. Either way; it adds to a more diverse option in obtaining cultural armor.
Main: Endeavorr
For it’s stats, no. I can understand if they vamp all Tier 3 to Ascended (even those who already bought it). If anything, Tier 1 = Rare, Tier 2 = Exotic, Tier 3 = Ascended.
Main: Endeavorr
Exactly, it just has a Mursaat feeling though
Main: Endeavorr
Be careful everyone : endeavor never said anything about lowering the price in his original post. It was suggested to allow players to buy the armors for Karma as well as gold.
As I have stated before, I think it is an option worth adding and it doesn’t need to be “cheaper”. I wouldn’t mind a super high Karma price; it would just be nice to have the option. Some of my characters require more gold for their crafting and gear but have loads of karma; I’d like more appealing options to use my Karma on.
Yes, I never said anything about lowering the price, infact I suggested an alternative that could be added as Karma is also obtainable through events and hearts. It narrows down grinding without sacrificing too much gold; seeing how one can spend karma for “that one last piece.”

Well is there any ‘sun’ in the mists? I mean if generations of people have been guarding this colossus (assuming they aren’t just random creations of the Mists and are regular people) then perhaps living within the mists could have the same effects on the skin as, say, living in a cave. I mean I know we have light, but does this light effect the body in the same way that sunlight does, causing pigmentation and giving the body Vitamin D.
The Mists is not an area. I guess the easiest way to describe it is a “universe” with it’s own “worlds,” or better, “realities,” that are connected to the player’s “universe,” think in terms of the Catholic Purgatory… an in-between where anything can, will, or has happened. The Fractals seem to grab certain scenerios and replay them, like a video or vision, so that the players can do them. The video has no affect on that particular reality as it is just an artificial copy.

I don’t know, it seems as if the gods are somewhat active when it comes to verbal abuses.
Main: Endeavorr
I agree, lower price so that it gives people more of an opportunity to use Fine Transmutation Stones. This gives both parties benefit; players can obtain the armor appearance they want and the developers can also make more money with more Fine Transmutation Stones being bought. As it is now; the prior tiers of cultural armor and tier 3’s price has such a price gap; more like canyon, that it truly is unfortunate.

Humans and Charr have always had a rocky relationship and rightfully so;
*EDIT NOTE*
Now it’s Human and Centaur
*END EDIT NOTE*
The Humans originally came from a more eastern location than that of Ascalon and moved west (into Charr lands) and conquered the region and forming the kingdom of Ascalon. With time, Humans spread out further and wherever they went, they conquered. It’s important to note however, one of the main reasons Humans were able to conquer the way they did is because they were the youngest race and also they had their gods present (in Orr). It seems as though once the gods left, the might of Humans slowly diminished into what it is now. In Nightfall (Elona), the success of the champion was helped indirectly by the gods and by the end of it, Kormir became a goddess, the destruction of an entire kingdom and saving of others in such a brief window shows how powerful the humans can be when helped by their gods. Tyria hosts more sentient beings than any other landmass and it’ll be interesting how different Cantha and Elona have become, Cantha being more human dominated as opposed to undead (not servants of Zhaitan) in Elona.

Who is interested in fighting the Mursaat? With the Fractals addition, more specifically the Giant map, it gives me the feeling of fighting the White Mantle or Mursaat followers. It also has the scenery of Janthir Bay (even though it was never opened for players, based off the map)
Main: Endeavorr
When I think of Ascalon, Old Ascalon to be more specific, I think of the English “Camelot.” The feeling of Kryta has totally changed from the 250 years prior; if anything it now gives me a feeling of Enlightenment mixed with Industrial Revolution.
Main: Endeavorr
There is already the ability to use karma for cultural weapons which is very nice, so is it all that hard to have the ability to use karma AND gold for armor?
Tier 3 is incredibly expensive and somewhat unfeasible for casual players without saving for months; however adding the ability to use both karma and gold for the pieces of armor could potentially half the amount of time.
Main: Endeavorr
That would be interesting but the only problem I see is that the particular castle or keep will be impossible to take, partly because each world will also attack each other and the over defense of the keep or castle; also the defenders of the keep or castle will have to also fight the dragon; making it impossible to keep if there are too few defenders.

Gate of Madness+++
Borlis Pass+
Anvil Rock++
—are all fighting each other.
Gate of Madness (GREEN) wins with a score of 210,000 vs
Anvil Rock (BLUE) of 160,000 vs
Borlis Pass (RED) of 145,00.Um, mb I didn`t understand something, shouldn`t Gate of madness have RED zone since they`ve won and Borlis Pass vice versa?
In theory;
Red is previous winner (Map is more open and not as defensible) (wastes of Ascalon)
Green is in the middle (Map is evenly split) (Lions Arch themed in jungle)
Blue is the previous loser (Map is more defensive) (Ice and snow)I would add some perks so previous winners won`t have only disadvantages, for example previous losers will be in BLUE Snowy regions with alot much passes and good defenses, but won`t have as much resources as RED Who have plains and not many defenses, but will have much more different resources scattered across their map (plantations, forests, mines with few rich veins and stuff?)
Also would like to add that layout that is now is made to balance all servers that nobody would have advantage or disadvantages because of the map they`re on. But it isn`t working well right now when low populated servers are clashed with 2 high populated servs are are just being torn apart.(or one high serv dominating 2 low pop servers)
I believe with that; I was suggesting that Gate of Madness did not win (before this suggested rotation).

There may be some inconsistencies in suggestion; as it involved a lot of trying to pair. I agree, each world shouldn’t have it’s weaknesses stressed too much as that would be a perfect way of taking advantage; however this suggestion could prevent landslide victories (making WvW not a lost cause as it is in my world where we just lost by 120k points)
Main: Endeavorr
I’ve seen NPCs in Lion’s Arch and in the Orders that suggest Charr-Human friendship. It is tough to just become friends when only more recently their war ended. I can see friendships devolving as the game progresses.
Main: Endeavorr
Konig is right, but perhaps the Ascalonian battle is from the Segway between Pre-Searing and player involvement. If I recall right, 3 years have passed between that time; also, the development of cities in GW1 were much smaller than any other city in GW2, heck Ebonhawk is way larger then Ascalon.
Also, comment above me makes sense too.
Main: Endeavorr
From playing Guild Wars 1, not really a qualification but oh well, I’m surprised that the Tengu have just so little of Tyria, which to me suggests that perhaps there’s an asura gate that leads to Cantha. Now according to lore, all or most races were expelled but Cantha is very mountainous (especially in the southern region, where a DLC mission takes place). It is very interesting to see the involvement of the Tengu and also the Kodan…two rces I hope become playable.. I’m just a fan of beast races and by saying that I’m stating I have a charr.
Main: Endeavorr
Yeah, just more maps.
Main: Endeavorr
I would love to see a rotation of maps; seeing how each world has a virtually identical map and then Eternal Battlegrounds. Maybe Blue would be more of a northern theme, Green could be more of a jungle, and Red more of like an Ascalonian theme? It at least gives some flavor to each world and provides benefits to each world’s “circumstance” based on their losses and wins from the previous match compared to the other 2 worlds.
In theory;
Red is previous winner (Map is more open and not as defensible) (wastes of Ascalon)
Green is in the middle (Map is evenly split) (Lions Arch themed in jungle)
Blue is the previous loser (Map is more defensive) (Ice and snow)

Those results do not reflect imbalances with WvWvW’s current “no orbs” approach.
Each map stresses a serious weakness that world suffers and attempts to compensate; also giving the winning world a challenge because their Borderlands aren’t nearly as protected like GREEN and BLUE
—
Next rotation;
Gate of Madness (RED) since the won through offensive tactics.
Anvil Rock (GREEN)
Borlis Pass (BLUE) since they lost.
—
Of course with map rotation, the world exploration should be removed from WvWvW (partly because of map switching and also that WvWvW is part of the Mists and not actually part of Tyria itself.)
Main: Endeavorr
I agree, take it out because it technically is part of the Mists; which is not part of Tyria; Tyria is a fragment within the Mists.

Originally not named due to his betrayal of the Flame Legion, it was the Backspurr warband, part of the Iron Legion, that took him in; in honor of that friendship he is just known as “Backspurr.”
Kron Stormforge = 8.7/10

Charr have always been my favorite race, from the first time I saw them in Pre-Searing and even the first mission where you run away from an angry mob of charr… sort of reminds me of one of the fractals… Either way, I remember always wanting to be a charr. The joke of seeing a charr sneak around is still funny however. Next race I want to play is Kodan and Tengu (I’m just a fan of beast races, heck I even have a kahjiit in Skyrim (heavily modded for more manliness of course).

First i would like to say that if they didn’t have time to finish 2 professions, than why the hell did they launch?
That’s completely against the policy they promoted so loud.And it wasn’t like pvp was ready either, so they might have reconsidered launching…
Beta reports were clear on that one: they weren’t ready.As for expecting an overhaul: I doubt it, not before some major expansion box.
I’m hoping for small tweaks at best.
Most kits need work, hardly any of them is viable alone, unlike grenades or bombs.
But before any real changes, they should fix bugs, because at the moment you can’t even tell how well an engineer is supposed to work.
How strong are we, when there would be no more significant bugs?
Guild Wars 1, the Dervish has had a major rework that resulted in completely different effects of the skills. It’s something ANet has done in the past and it’s proved to be successful.

What is the armor the male Sylvari warrior is wearing in creation? It doesn’t look like any of the cultural armor or even Twilight Arbor. Can someone link the armor, please?
