All I am trying to say I guess with this long winded post, is Black Lion Chests are just like every other game now, wastes of time, money, and effort. I wish we could have just had the skins in the cash shop, because the people that really want them, at least in my mind, don’t want to be a unique snowflake (cause this is a game after all, you’re unique, in a field of snowflakes) They just want to look cool all to themselves, you spend most of your time in this game with yourself, not the guy with the sword skin you want, what does it matter how “unique” it is.

I can understand adding the skins to the shop but I would kinda bet people would complain about the price….but bet it would be less complaining.

Also still thinks its to early for the complaining as a whole when still 3 more acts to go where something from left field could hit like a recipe for them, being offered in the store, etc etc.

Of all the boosters I do have the killstreak is the only one that doesn’t work.

True, but then their is the flip side also. With games like WoW, TF2, and others were the minority are just that….the minority.

Really I except one of a couple things.
1) Nothing happens, they have data to support its a minority thing.
2) They fix it because the % of people kitten off is a pretty good amount (10-25% or even more as you say)
3) This was a test and they will do something to make up for it and change things for future events.

Also on note. I don’t love GW2, its just a game for me to enjoy with friends for now. Once other things I’m watching are released I doubt I’ll be on GW2 much anymore if at all.

TF2 wasn’t always F2P and its store was in the game before it even did go F2P. So seems you never played TF2…thats good to know. Btw crates and BLC are the same thing you know what you are going to get in both the rest is the % chance of what.

I check news to see about new games but now after watching the video I see why I wouldn’t have seen it.

Was just a “hype” video and I pretty much skip hype for any game even the ones I’m really really interested in.

Yes the video gave me the “we’re different” in areas but whole thing was hyping but I already know people eat the hype up like its nobodies business…..to often just blows up in their face.

When I spend almost the price of a brand new copy of the game and get NOTHING from it, there is a problem. I am advising all of my friends and guildies not to waste their money on this or future events because of this. I am hoping that Anet does right and makes amends for this because I am not the only one that got ripped off.

Only problem I have is that mesmer ports have no cap. None.

Yet as an ele I have 5 cap on everything and players can simply mitigate all that dmg by simply stacking more than the cap. This cap makes my AoE pretty much utterly worthless. More and more I am seeing enemy zergs stacking to negate all AoE. So my question is….why is it ok that mesmers have infinite number ports when I get stuck with a peasly 5?

The answer is obvious. Portals don’t do damage. Portals don’t kill people. You can’t spam portals and kill people repeatedly. You can’t take 5 mesmers and drop 5 portals and kill 100 people at a gate defense. Portals are a buff, just like other buffs, that affect “all allies.”

Siege is what allows you to do damage to unlimited amounts of people in a stack. That’s their purpose, and that’s why nobody has an aoe damage spell that deals damage to more than 5 in a stack.

So, you’re comparing two completely different mechanics.

If you still don’t get why limited aoe damage on players to 5 at a time is important, then you haven’t played games where aoe wasn’t limited. Siege isn’t mobile, so it’s okay to not have a cap, but if every player was essentially a walking siege, you and everyone else would be BURYING these forums in posts about getting obliterated by organized 5 and 10 man gank squads that stack aoe.

In the infamous DAOC 8 man squad I was a part of, we killed 68 out of 200 people in 10 seconds, simply by running into people who’d literally just taken a keep and ported outside in front of the door and were waiting for direction from the commander. We landed some CC, ran directly into them and layed down the AOE. We still died, but just 8 killed that many before dying. Now multiply that some more.

We regularly killed groups of 40-60 with just our 8 people, with ease.

That’s why you should be glad there’s a damage cap on your AOE. If you want something you feel is “game changing” (even though every class already has it, and is important, despite claims to the otherwise) then you should start brainstorming for it.

So when then did other MMOs not cap AoE at all? or even do anything for years and years?

To be honest im more than happy that they didnt nerf the backstab skill itself. This doesnt change anything though, probackstab thieves will always be probackstab thieves. Im just hoping the qq posts in thief forums die down a little bit (doubt it).

I’m thinking once the rendering issues get fixed, thats when the qq will die down a lot.

I have had a issues last 2 weeks where my nades go through keep/tower walls most of the time. Just go right through and do nothing.

Well I’ve been playing WvW from 8pm till 10am. And seen and did a lot. Had some epic battles today against EB. Had a trolling commander redzone or w.e his name is build rams inside of a tower.

None the less I recorded a lot of video from over the night..

Indeed was a great night.

Was fun with bogging down those 10-15+ EB besieging Cliff against me and those other 2 people (can’t remember names) while everyone else snatched the garrison…..door had barely anything left once the garrison cavalry came to save the day for us lol.

Terrible mechanic. Designed to be a crutch to keep the unskilled zerg limping along without getting rolled by better playing smaller forces. Along with AOE cap of 5, and other terrible design choices, WvW in GW2 is the most casual friendly, lowest skill cap PvP sytsem in an MMO to ever be made.

Let me tell you a story (a kitten cool one, bro):

I was playing on my thief character on my home borderlands, cruising merrily to the garrison that had just been attacked. I’m going up the road away from the nearby supply camp, and suddenly a group of 5 enemy invaders rush over the horizon and plough their way through to my direction. Naturally, I have to use every single skill in my disposal to survive. After landing some damage, I pull off one of my favourite tactics successfully (stealth and then hit a Shadow Refuge WITHOUT going inside it, so the enemy focus on it and nuke the inside of it). I land a monstrous Pistol Whip and nail 2 in one quick sweep. 2 downed, 3 left standing. I quickly immobilise a third and hit Thieves Guild while stealthing with a utility, and again the focus is off me and on to my pals. Another Pistol Whip rush on the 4th and 5th who went to help the others, and 4 out of 5 are now down. The last one has just broken out of the immobilisation and has successfully killed the two thieves (and kitten quickly, very impressive). My shadowsteps and stealths are caught on CD at the same time, so I simply go to AoE the already downed players at my feet before they can cause a bigger problem. Lots of Pistol Whips ahoy. The 5th launches an AoE at me, so naturally, I dodge out of the way. It hits a wolf, who had been hanging around the vicinity and occasionally getting swiped for a while and happened to walk right where I was standing at this exact moment. The wolf dies. 3 out of 4 downed players are rallied. I get instantly bursted by all of them and die before I can blink.

Absolutely stupendously silly. Get rid of it.

I would like them gone as well…..but I do love seeing those 20+ groups of them since I just farm those enemy bots and kitten off their handlers.
