Players should always be able to transfer freely to servers of their choosing. This provides a much nicer experience (although perhaps a less financially successful one for ANet). So considering that I think a more elegant solution would be a temporary restriction of WvW access upon a server switch.
It also seems to me that griefers who mass pointless siege often haven’t transferred anyway.
I’m fine with making it free with a 3 month cool-down.
you people are so incredibly paranoid. Deliberate griefing can be reported. It really seems like a majority of the time players using a supply in a keep just sets people into some kind of x-files conspiracy rant.
Big brother isnt watching.
There are no spies.
People wanted to get exp for repairing a wall / arrow cart / whatever. Relax.
hacking must not be happening either.
Just lower the rendering in options, that fixes everything. Atleast for me it did. I just lowered rendering to the lowest. Haha when it was at high I ran into a zerg of 20 without seeing them hahaha.
Doesn’t work after I WvW for about 2 hours people just stopped rendering, would run into a 2v2 and couldn’t see the enemy at all…could see the necro pets but not the player or even the NPC guards…..had to tab target and look for the red arrow.
Indeed Hakato, plus the rendering bug that came with the last patch is just making people not want to WvWvW when its invisible fest.
I’m Dyneis, leader of Kings of Kaineng (KAIN) on Kaineng server. That was bullkitten. After SoS worked all night taking back our entire borderland, I worked all morning and afternoon defending and rallying troops. We finally fortified our keep to near max and suddenly a hacker jumps into the altar room, and smashes the altar to pieces.
Kaineng is the underdog server. We’ve been at the bottom forever, and the instant we finally manage to do well, these guys begin hacking. I just wish we could have gotten a screenshot of the guy.
I’m disappointed in you, Borlis Pass. You didn’t have to resort to hacking to take our orb away, you probably would have broken in eventually.
As a matter of fact, 20 minutes after the orb was smashed in, you did break into our keep. I really enjoyed the last battle when you squeezed in, the results of the first breakthrough was hilarious. It was a good fight in the end, but a lot of people left after the hacking incident happened.
I hope some day in the future we can have a legitimate and proper fight without having to worry about hackers. Who knows, perhaps we would have held the keep!
One guy hacks and yet you blame a whole server of people….
Dee Jay.2460 then you better just remove PvP then
This is one of the key things I’ve hated in MMOs, PvP needing some kind of gear chase BS.
Also you get money, loot, karma, xp, badges, achievement/titles.
Oh and the fact you are PvPing
Splintrr I’d hope you could take Splintrr during downtime while the SoS oceanic makes pushes elsewhere.
PKing dying to carebears in PvP zones one step at a time.
Junkkis
In short your statements are false.
now I’m going to try and get in here before nastier people start the insults about learning to play etc.
The warrior at present has a lot of viable specs in WvW. I personally do not playh one but play in a guild with a lot of warriors that play and succeed well in WvW.
One thing that might be the issue is are you playing solo, warriors thrive with other players their hammers are fantastic for control and adminishing aoe when combating a zerg. They have glass cannon specs that can nuke rapidly and then retreat.
I play thief and play in melee range and often spend my time hopping in and out of the postern doors wiping people. we also have a 900 range. I think you should look for another class though as clearly this playstyle doesn’t suit you.
Thief is a completely different Melee beast then warrior or guardian
I still think adding realm abilities is a terrible idea.
I hear PKing is griefing these days.
If you won 10 of those 10 games you were undefeated by definition.
Once again you disagreeing with how we use the word doesn’t change the definition of the word.
Grasping kinda hard….are we not?
We’ve done nothing outside the rules and what’s allowed by ANet. You not wanting to agree with it, doesn’t make it fact.
Not from what I have seen.
Many characters would have been one shot by that 14k hit, or actually less than one shot because some classes don’t even have 14k HP unless they stack it.
You mean squishies are… squishy?
A warrior specced to do that much damage is effectively the warrior version of a squishy spec but he has far more HP and defense (and in some cases damage) than the classes that naturally have small HP pools. That is OP by itself and being able to one shot is also OP, not because they have small HP pools, but because 14k is too much and doesn’t give the player a chance to fight back. There’s no strategy involved in that.
I wonder how you’d feel if your Warrior had the 10k base HP of a Guardian/Ele/Thief, or even the 15k of an Engi/Ranger/Mesmer. That 14k would look different.
Are we even playing the same game?
Sounds like he was using a very glassy cannon build. Kill Shot is actually a joke compared to Rapid Fire, which even if you dodge one of, will still apply most of its (often superior) damage. KS’s only advantage is its range. It’s also incredibly easy to see from any distance. If he’s kneeling, dodge. It’s basically only good as a surprise move. As others have said, Kill Shot doesn’t do much damage otherwise, normally. Honestly I rarely see it go over 5-6k, which yes, is just fine on a profession that aside from damage can’t do a single thing to you; Warriors are not known for having clever tricks up their sleeves. And since the Rifle is single-target and otherwise has no utility (knockback, a cripple), I rarely bother using it, especially in WvW. It’s a ganker’s tool.
Now, keep in mind, I know you aren’t a Warrior player, but this is ALL Warriors do. Complaining about a Warrior dealing damage to you is like complaining that a Mesmer can make clones. Of course he’s going to do more damage to you than you can do to him – he can’t do anything else to you. It’s all he can do. He is otherwise completely worthless. He’s not going to become invisible, make a copy of himself, turn into vapor, throw up an impassable wall or anything else. He just swings big chunks of metal around and hopes he can overpower you with a couple of cripples and a Bull’s Charge.
Now, let’s consider your situation:
- You fought a Warrior 1v1
- You were alone in WvW
- He was alone in WvW
- He had an obvious glass cannon build designed only to gank people
- He could kill some random wildlife in the small window Vengeance allows (they don’t exactly explode when you look at them), meaning he was VERY glassy
- You apparently managed to down him anyway, despite his getting the opening crit shot – very glassy AND a bad player
- He was traited to rally on Vengeance, which normally using = death for the Warrior = he knew he’d probably die (again, he’s a ganker who is otherwise worthless to everyone)
- You actually gave him the time to USE Vengeance, knowing he’s a glass cannon, with his only defense being the second worst #2 downed skill in the game – his only weapon against you IS Throw Rock – the highest damage downed state skill in the game (and single-target)
It sounds to me like you were a pub doing what you should never do in WvW – go anywhere alone. And it also sounds like you encountered an idiot who had only one goal – gank solo pubs. Furthermore, it also sounds like he was a poor player, to get in a high crit opening hit but still die. In addition to that, it sounds like you spent too much time freaking out in the process. Also, in WvW, level disparity and equipment ALSO come into the equation. Were you level 80? Was he? Did you have exotics? Did he? Etc. Again, you’re complaining about a Warrior’s only options in combat. “His Throw Rock is so powerful.” Of course it is. His #2 skill is a single-target projectile that can be evaded, blinded, blocked, stability’ed away, etc. His #3 skill, which he should normally NEVER get to use, kills him unless he burns points for the trait to prevent it AND manages to use it AND manages to kill something. And you’re complaining that his rock does too much damage? “He hits so hard.” Of course he does. Again, this is all Warriors are good for. Even their DPS is eclipsed by other classes. They’re all about single-hit burst damage. It is all, they, do. Imagine a Warrior that can’t do any damage to you. How threatening is he to you? Because normally, when I see a Warrior, I think, “Free meal.” I can do all sorts of crazy tricks, and they can’t. They can only try to burst damage me, and that’s usually very easy to mitigate or avoid.
The lesson here is, the Warrior designed to do nothing BUT this was still terrible (and Warriors are indeed usually terrible), and you shouldn’t be wandering around alone in WvW. Remember, kids: if you see a Warrior, he’s DPS and will die very quickly after using his one good move. If he’s not DPS, and he’s alone (not supporting others), he’s probably a moron. Also, WvW is all about the buddy system.
Get eight hours of milk and don’t do school.
Love running this type of person on my warrior, so easy wtfroflstomp their faces in
I don’t like that they are soulbound to one character so much….eats up extra bank space.
I’d like to know Anet’s stance on this. Been seeing a lot of people logging out to avoid death lately.
Thing in this has been a issue in most MMOs forever hence why most have a timer or something.
IMHO “spying” is part of war in general and I would not like to see Anet put any measures in place to stop it, even if it is technically outside of game “exploit”. What I would like to see is if and when spies get caught, they get blacklisted on the server they spied on, denounced/punished by the servers they could benefit, and if tracked back to a guild roster that guild shamed publicly. That’s all the “balance” it needs, since anyone can do it, if they want to risk their reputation doing so.
Sounds like you are playing the wrong MMO
Still wondering why I should be impressed with TA with what they have done in GW2….
Warrior. There is nothing wrong with Bullrush+Frenzy+100B. Its actually ideal for WvWvW, as if you go GS/Sword+Shield (+Mobile Strikes) you will be able to charge into “zerg”, kill someone and fly out. Any other weapon or combos wont allow you to do that because, 1. You wont kill anyone fast, or 2. You are not mobile enough to get out once mass zerg targets you down.
Build, 10/20/20/0/20
Or I watch for that, then drop them while they are in the middle of the combo on someone.
I love warriors all run with that cookie-cutter dps lol
I really don’t understand how they don’t have a 20sec before log out period like many other mmos.
Unfortunately this will not be resolved until NSP moves up a bracket and can test their skill/tactics against other servers that can field equal numbers on the battlefield.
-K
Pretty much this.
Doesn’t help that the fire elemental AoE spots are bigger then displayed
Just had a great battle a couple hours ago against Kaineng, you guys did not want to give up Longview for the longest time (I had the walled Trebbed down forever but we couldn’t push across the field) while back camping plenty of camps/towers.
I got a small 5 man group together and started grabbing those supply camps back and met up with another small group in the south to get those towers and pukitten north. Was good times.
Sad was after that DR decided to exploit siege equipment to protect one of their towers.
Jesus people need to relax, wait at least like 3 months before you get up in arms and see what they plan to add.
But a ranking system would be nice
Borlis Pass has several players who use some kind of speed hack and when are the nerfs coming!?
in WvW

Screenshot?
What did the warriors look like, I might have seen them before
I dunno why people even waste time with the puzzle, except the first time for achievement. The reward isn’t that much, ~5 badges isn’t hard to get, and the amount of time you waste there if you run into enemies is ridiculous. The blueprints are nice, but honestly blueprints aren’t even that expensive. Do a couple yak kills, take a supply camp or 2, and you just paid for a siege blueprint. Unless your hella lucky, and never run into enemies there, AND get alpha golems from the chest all day, its not worth it.
So mean getting a average of 15 badges, 2+blue prints (like a siege golem or even a treb), and some gear is a waste of time?
lol, best thing I’ve heard all day
I only saw a single Kaineng all day while I was on killin
