And I know TC as a server has good WvW going, and I also hear it’s one of the friendliest servers out there. If you’re experiencing something different, perhaps you might consider guesting / transfer.
I hate to ask the obvious question, but are you in a guild?
My guild has a pretty normal rotation of doing Explorables, Fractals, outdoor events AND WvW on a regular basis every weekend, and sometimes during the week when folks are free from work.
Find a set of like-minded folks who are interested in playing the way you do.The game IS community-oriented, but the social groupings ARE up to individual players.
Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.
Yours,

Couple of observations:
1) sharing “best practices” and reviewing what has worked provides knowledge that other players can use.
2) inviting other players to be successful by using that knowledge is an inclusive attitude that may have players either wanting to follow and/or also sharing their knowledge which in turn also helps everyone
3) sharing/reviewing is NOT a demand. That allows players free choice. Usually players want to be successful and so will internalize the “advice”, which they will more than likely happily follow and appreciate..
4) There are many players who run with /mapchat off. Don’t assume malicious intent.
5) Leadership (e.g. being a commander) is not a right, it is a privilege that is earned.
- could keep going but hopefully point is made

To quote the ‘famous’ poster:
I’ve been rich. And I’ve been poor. Rich is better.
I have played MMO’s where PvP was all about community and pride and fellow players. Where “good of the realm” was a rallying cry. Where multiple guilds pulled together to benefit all. Forging friendships and alliances and supporting those in a give and take relationship, particularly when things are tough and particularly when not winning.
I have played PvP in MMOs where there was no community. Where there was no server pride. Where there was nothing but self-focusesd accrual of points/gear/“status” and nothing even close to resembling strategy existed because players would not listen to each other. Where self-serving players would bail or worse: turn on their own guildmates if it got them, personally, ahead.
Community and server pride are better.
GW2 offers that. In both PvE and WvW.
By the folks who embrace it and make it happen.
Some of us still believe in that. Still believe in community. That is how I and my guild have played for over 14 years.
And that is how we will continue to play as long as we are online with other people.

This is a copy of my post from the WvW forums: see the bolded part and the comment regarding industry standard.
After playing since BWE1, and submitting multiple feedback tickets as well as posts on the forums, I still do not understand what seems to be ANet’s reluctance to provide an an on/off toggle OPTION for things such as commander tags, character names, titles, LS and personal story information.
It’s a pretty standard practice across the MMO industry.
Makes such a difference for the customer’s experience.

Ah, yes they did. Good.

Might want to post there and add anything you can to help them track this down.
Did anyone report this as a bug?
I like to WvW as well. Have been group PvPing since DAoC.
GW2 is the easiest leveling I’ve ever encountered in an MMO in 14 years.
2-4 days will get you a new 80.
Your other choice is SPvP if you want instant gratification.
- 50 alts
I believe this thread is less about the gem store and insta-80 and more about how Cond Build is apparently OP in WvW.
<cough>I suspect there is a belief that titles would motivate players in WvW just as they apparently do in PvE?
I think those same folks believe that titles somehow convey status in a make-believe pixelated world.
Glad to hear they are looking at revamping WvW achieves. Will that be before or after account-wide wxp?
(edited by goldenwing.8473)
I treat each of my alts as separate characters. (All 50 of them).
Having played MMO’s for 14 years, I do not expect to be able to share gear (although DAoC allowed this.)
I do not expect insta-leveling (although, again, DAoC had a /slash 20 command for accounts that had at least one endgame level character. It caused an uproar when it first went in.) GW2 now provides the same ability via 1-year birthday level 20 scroll. I have used multiple of those on new alts.
I did have a problem with character specific Fractal levels. As someone who provided the profession my guild needed when we were 4-manning Fractals, it was painful to start over. That has now been addressed.
I am waiting for account-wide WvW ranks and do not understand why this did not exist persistently from the beginning of the game. Again, I provide the necessary alts for my guild’s 4-man swat team. Usually this is my Elementalist. There are times, however, when they prefer my Warrior, Guardian or Necro.
I have multiple characters of the same profession that I have taken to WvW and used in PvE for Explorables and Fractals. They have different builds and corresponding different gear sets. It’s easier for me to level a new character (2 days) and gear it (in exotics) than carrying around multiple sets of gear, keeping track of them, swapping them and respeccing. There is no easy in-game mechanic to do so (unlike some other MMOs – WoW/WoW clones.)
Ascended gear added another twist in the alt-game. I have one fully ascended geared character and multiple characters with pieces from Fractals/Laurels. The time/cost of fully gearing others is daunting. Yes, gearing that way IS a player choice… mine… I and my guild are old school min/maxers because we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what we can do with 2, or 3 or 4 people, in order to find the challenge we want in the game. It’s how we play.
Again, my choice.
If it was a WoW/WoW Clone, the issue would be par for the course.
In a game that was promoted as lateral progression, the addition of Ascended is a tad annoying.
And probably where a lot of the concerns over alt-friendly arise. I personally felt constrained to pick a main in a game that did not have a trinity, and had promoted “freedom of choice” in profession and build and gear.
That was disappointing.
I adjust. I am now considering whether to move forward with outfitting some of my other alts in Ascended.
As soon as account-wide WvW ranks goes in.
I’m not holding my breath. I know they will get there…eventually.

Is Camelot Unchained out yet?
2 more years. 2 more years. 2 more years……
Have not had a chance to see EotM yet, am reserving judgment until then.
However, I suspect it may end up being another part of the game that I wish other players enjoyment and may probably personally avoid. That worked pretty well for LS and SAB.
Will be curious to see how this all settles out and what percentage of WvW players actually end up using the zone long term.
(edited by goldenwing.8473)
So, would you pay $10 a month for the game if the Gem Store ceases to exist, no need to buy bag and bank slots, expand this, expand that. Pay for boosters of various kind. Buy unlimited mining picks. What not…
That would probably also include less time gating, maybe a bit higher drop rates… You name it!In short, you get a full service for $10 a month. I’d say if the game’s good, I’d pay that money.
Couple of thoughts:
1) If GW2 went subscription now, it would change the game in a way that may not be a positive direction. There are lots of assumptions floating around about how subscription would benefit the future development of GW2 in positive way. I’m not convinced that would actually happen..
2) If GW2 had been subscription from the start, yes, I would have signed up for it. Even though that would have meant that had it been that way from the start, it would have attracted a different set of players and probably had a different culture. I would have saved an incredible amount of money however.
3) Looking at GW2 as it is now, I would not pay subscription fee for what the game has devolved into from both a content and quality perspective.
So, hadn’t seen a thread for these yet, if there is and I missed it, this can be deleted.
Anywho, just got done browsing dulfy’s gallery, and I think I like most of these. Simple, clean lines. I’m sort of ‘meh’ on the heart, but overall not bad.
Edit: I should probably say that I’m rather fond of the pistol and dagger skins.
Your thoughts?
Ditch the hearts and I’d be seriously interested in the skins.
I agree, the models themselves are clean, simple. Agree that the pistol and dagger skins look good.
Love the sword (sans the heart) but then I’ve always been a sucker for a good rapier.
-Not a girly girl when it comes to weapons.
PS: been pondering how those would look if they replaced the hearts with something else like a small sun, glowing orb or flame (overdone). Needs something different…..
Ideas anybody?
PS: was just trying to get folks to stop and think and either accept / coexist or be “part of the solution.”
- I can dream, can’t I?
Bottom line: every time I see one of these threads show up where players are pitted against players and their differing playstyles, I wonder why are the players blasting each other instead promoting solutions regarding: the source of problem: the game environment and rewards?
- Just curious.
There are loads of factors. All players do not want the same thing. One wants better drops because he has a goal that requires those drops. Someone else has a bunch of gold and sees his purchasing power going down as the economy shifts. Add to that factors like: players making claims based on what others’ post rather than thinking for themselves; players assuming that their experience on one server is going to be the same as the experience on another server; and the typical forum games, in which “proving” someone else wrong on the internet is the goal of the game.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it’s a lot easier to criticize than it is to come up with viable solutions. Many forum solutions are created without sufficient information — information that players generally do not have access to.
But then, you probably knew all of that.
/nods
Good post.
I know, it’s just easier to complain about in-game behavior and hope somebody else fixes it.
I’m still amazed, dozens of threads later, that some players assume folks are doing the QD champ train for loot. QD champ events supply karma.
And yes, path of least resistance, easier to do the monthly that way.
QD is easier to get around than FG, has natural stopping points (boar), and runs at a better pace for some players.
I go out to QD with my alts, FG (usually guesting to a lower pop server), and run the Orr circuit. All have different tradeoffs including rewards.
Players do have preferred playstyles when it comes to champions, and neither is right or wrong except for those instances where the EULA is deliberately violated.
Accept, tolerate and/or move along. Especially if a champion is killed “out of rotation”. It will respawn.
Bottom line: every time I see one of these threads show up where players are pitted against players and their differing playstyles, I wonder why are the players blasting each other instead promoting solutions regarding the source of problem: the game environment and rewards?
- Just curious.

I get BL Keys from time to time. Not that rare.
Been playing since pre-release and had my very first (and probably only) precursor drop about a week ago (from a fish in the lake in Gendarran of all places.) I’m the last person who actually needed or wanted one. Go figure.
Sorry you’re having bad luck.
RNG is a pip.
I don’t think folks here are specifically trying to create a “reliable zergling”. I think most are responding to a new player to WvW who asked for help. Given the OP did not mention guild, friends, etcetera, it seemed he was going out to WvW solo and feeling “lost”. Grouping up with other folks, chatting, getting help is a normal method of advice whether it is WvW or PvE.
In this case, the advice was: get to know the ropes (basics), the general lay of the land, and a good foundational understanding of how WvW works overall. Starting out solo, the OP might be better off with other folks.
A lot of the advice above applies to whatever playstyle the OP may end up choosing.
Once he is comfortable and not feeling “lost”, yes have fun in the way that works best for him.
If that’s solo roaming, or teaming up with a havoc team, or a 4-man swat team (my preferred playstyle), or finding a guild that does GvG…it’s all good.
A good server supports all of the above (fights/PPT/bags).
Good WvW players understand all playstyles contribute and they have fun playing however they want.
Adding to all the very good advice above:
Pay attention to teamspeak and map chat and you cannot go wrong.
All three borderland maps are identical in layout. Learn the maps.
Use your map if you get separated from the zerg in order to find the commander (tag). Join up if you feel you can get there solo (sometimes this is very easy). If there’s been a wipe, porting back to your base camp will often allow you to meet up with others so you don’t need to travel alone.
Do not hit keep / tower doors unless told to do so.
Stay out of map chat unless you have something to report that is important strategically.
Watch the other players near your commander to see what they are doing, take clues from them if you feel “lost”.
Get out of red circles.
All in all, if you are just aware and pay attention, follow a good commander, you should be fine (even without teamspeak).
TeamSpeak, a good guild and being friendly go a long way to making WvW fun!
Good luck!
And welcome to the “real” game.
Ehh
I have no real friends who play GW2 …. and i cant start this game
because i dont all about this game
.
Its very easy to start pvp in this game. Just make a new character and go into the mists. You will be automatically lvl 80 and all equipment is for free, so you can jump right into the action. IF you dont like the class, just try another one.
Heart of the Mists are the crossed swords at the upper left of your screen. Just click on those to enter into the PvP zone. You be placed in a safe lobby space to start out. Check the vendors there for armor, weapon, etcetera.
There are practice dummies in there as well. So feel free to experiment with different professions. You might want to start with the leather wearing classes.: Engineer, Thief, and Ranger.
Good luck. Have fun! Feel free to ask more questions here and/or on the PvP forum.
Would not mind having a small avatar with an ability to have a character face there. I can understand the urge to “put a face on it”.
However, as it stands now, I am posting, not as my character, but as me. Using my account name is about as personal as it gets on a game forum for me (without impacting my privacy.) Also makes the forums look a little more.. dare I say…. “respectable”? And probably encourages some posters to take more responsibility for their posts?
Speaking of privacy, that is one of the reasons I enjoy GW2… no inspect, no armory.
As has been mentioned in numerous threads, when the inspect/armory suggestion arises: some folks have custom-designed builds and armor choices (stats AND looks) that they just do not want copied. I respect that. Besides, there is just something mildly creepy about a perfect stranger walking up and acting like a peeping tom; if I want that experience, I can just stand in line at the airport for the scanners.
Bottom line: I like the idea that posts out here are debated based on the merits of the post itself. That does not happen on forums where level, character, gear, achievements etcetera are available for cursory judgment.

Gems not showing up after purchase issue – today only
Purchased gems twice this morning. Game was slow to respond. Purchases completed and gems did not show up either time.
Contacted support who said they are aware this is an issue and they are working on it.
If you are having a problem, feel free to submit a support ticket, however, was told that in all likelihood, once the issue is fixed, the gems should just show up.
PS: in general, if there is an issue purchasing gems, submitting a support ticket IS the way to go. Turnaround time (other than weekends) is generally very quick… I have done this successfully at least a half dozen times in the last 18 months due to the large volume of gems I purchase.
(edited by goldenwing.8473)
The game has no sub.
How do you supposedly entice players to return month after month in order to dangle gem store items in front of their eyes in the hopes they will purchase something?
LS and tie in items.
Can’t “batch up” content.
Batching up 3x the amount of content I don’t like won’t help me have a better customer experience. But then I am definitely not one of ANet’s “target” audience.
I just get used to not doing LS after LS after LS and wait for WvW updates.
Besides, drawing out the stories like late 1800’s magazine novels in installments is supposedly part of the draw of the LS.
People gripe about ANET because ANET continues to slap the vocal majority in the face with every “update”. Now according to some leaked posts (in the past) ANET believes these forums to be essentially the vocal minority, which is their right to think (wrong or right as it might be).
Most likely right. I remember DAoC put short surveys on the login screen to help determine development direction, and the results usually came out in a very different way than the forums would have led you to believe.
You have to remember that it’s only a small sub-set of a games players that even visit forums, never mind post in them.
DAoC also had TLs (team leaders) – player volunteers – whose job it was to collect input on their respective class subsection of players. You can argue that some had personal agendas and that some did a poor job representing their fellow players. but with 53 or so classes to try and balance (in a group PvP environment – RvR), Mythic understood the need to collect data.
One could say that DAoC’s failure was that it listened too much to its customers and hence there were constant nerf/buff cycles.
DAoC also had an on-going survey forum on the VN board used specifically to provide input to the devs on areas they wanted player input.
At least that was my experience from DAoC from release through 5+ years.
Obviously getting the balance right between input and implementing suggestion is hard. That is part of the developers’ job. A smart dev explains why as part of working in partnership with the customers.
Once a game is released, it no longer belongs solely to the developers. Customers take a hand in shaping it from there.

ITT: People who still think Anet actually cares about what players want.
Not like there is a history of some company consistently ignoring player requests and releasing content in PVP that no one asked for. OOOOOOHHHH… WAIT.
Well, first I need to ask you a question…. What do players want? Seems all we want to do is complain about anything Anet creates.
We wanted WvW or we wouldn’t have bought the game. Now, everyone has a different spin on how WvW should be changed, based on their own experience (and normally most people on these forums just want it changed so they can win easier, at other peoples expense. They call it balance, but only balance for them).
So, in all fairness to Anet, we must admit that the player base cannot come to a consensus on what they want.
It is unrealistic to expect the playerbase to come to a consensus. It will not occur in PvE and it will not occur for WvW. There is a huge diversity of previous game cultures and expectations that players bring to this game, along with perceptions of existing gameplay.
If you have followed any of the general forum since release, the staggering amount of differences is apparent. Even this forum has a current example in the thread regarding play for PPT, bags or fights. Of course players advocate for their preferred playstyle.
It takes a mature/experienced player to accept/tolerate that multiple playstyles can exist in WvW and understand that those differences provide benefits for everyone. There are just as many examples of that on this forum and on multiple servers.
The onus should NOT be placed on the customer.
It belongs squarely in ANet’s lap and their own internal politics. It is ANet’s job to hone their vision and to correctly (and intelligently) balance that with input from their customers.
ANEt needs to internalize that they are in the Entertainment Business and as such, success depends on their customers’ experience.
And part of that success is dependent on receptive communication and transparency.
-retired software dev
(edited by goldenwing.8473)
Here’s the real problem:
In a game funded basically by a cash shop, customers will be sensitive to anything that has the perception of an advantage.
ANet, not being particularly sensitive to their customers’ experiences, and merely focused on technical details and their bottom line ($$$) obviously failed to ask an important question in their design meeting (assuming they follow true on their corporate analytic profile which means everything must be approved by consensus.)
The question should have been obvious to a designer aware and concerned about the perception of P2W. (I am not commenting on whether the item is or is not.)
Perception becomes reality.
I am sure there will be a post at some point that explains it’s only an “x” percent increase (“small to negligible” – in their technical detailed way). They won’t understand what the fuss is but if enough customers are upset they will “look into it to see if changes need to be made.”
Sadly all of this could have been avoided. I expect to see more of the same in the future.
Well, to be fair they are attacking the new map, not the “real” WvW maps, and I would say that is a rather fair compromise.
Edge of the Mists have after all always been talked about as having quite a bit of PvE in it.WvW players need to get real. The world is about money. WvW is not profitable for Anet at all in comparison with LS. I bet that metrics will show that WvW players spend the least in the cash shop. The living story is extremely profitable to them. If you want more WvW development, you had better allow them to find a way to make it profitable by attaching a little living story to it.
If you balk at this attempt to kill two birds with one stone(profit + WvW development), they simply will continue to be sluggish on WvW development in favor of more profitable development.
Note: For those that will slam me for not being a WvW player, I am a primary WvW player with something like 700-800 WXP level between 3 characters and I hate LS and Scarlet with a passion. If you browse my post history, you’ll find plenty of posts slamming Scarlet. I am just being realistic.
Reason, practicality and reality have no place on a game forum.
Good post.
I can speculate about the internal politics at ANet and why WvW has to incorporate PvE in order to get a “blessing” to proceed. Bottom line is it’s all about “the bottom line” e.g. money.
I can accept it.
Doesn’t mean I have to like it.
Well said though.
So ANet believes the answer to adding new maps for WvW and “enticing” players to WvW is to add LS?
ANet has to have an “excuse” for adding more WvW content?
And instead of addressing some of the inherent issues with WvW design/rewards, they try to use LS as a motivator.
-not a big fan of using only a crowbar as a one tool does everything

This will not be tied to specific servers.
Players will be grouped with players from different servers based on their color for the week….e.g….. all “red” players will be grouped together.
To pure PvE players: so sorry that you have to deal with the “inconvenience” of dealing with PvP in a map that was SUPPOSED to be a long-awaited WvW update.
To WvW/PvX players: so sorry that ANet decided to cram more LS into WvW after very clear feedback that it wasn’t welcomed. At best, we might find some PvE players end up liking WvW. At worst, enjoy the extra loot bags.
To ANet: one of the abiding laws of any creative endeavor from art to cooking to development: “KNOW WHEN TO STOP.” Too much spice ruins what could have been a good meal. That last dab of paint in the lower right corner just changed the entire feel of the artwork. Too much Scarlet shoved down players throats may cause massive aversion to LS and the game.
To those who can extract fun from this new content despite the unwelcome fusion of PvE/ LS and WvW: enjoy!
-Still waiting for the “real” WvW update of account-bound wxp.
I play WvW in GW2 the same way I played RvR in DAoC and Warhammer Online: strategically.
That means I play for PPT.
And usually not in a zerg.
I’d be playing for PPT no matter what server I was on.
PPT allows my 4-man swat team to make a contribution without having to be part of a zerg (this is a recording).
I play PvE for bags. (Precursor dropped 3 days ago from a fish in the lake in Gendarran doing the PvE daily). (Our 4-man team “warms up” doing quick runs through a couple of explorables. )
If I want to play for fights I have 3 choices: back to a team FPS game, SPvP or GvG. Won’t do GvG because I won’t ever be in a guild large enough to have those huge free for alls.
Btw, we DO enjoy those small skirmishes we have from time to time. We are not opposed to fights, just not our first focus.
PS: see thread for some suggestions/discussions regarding PPT: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/If-you-could-change-the-scoring-mechanic
Agree, there is no right or wrong. Just preferred playstyle.

Hills outer wall is a waste of resources, surely the defenders would just use the cliff for most of the structure. On the below image, the blue is the wasted outer wall and the red is where it COULD be. Or is there an even more efficient placement?
,,,but…..but…but….. I like the blue wall. Makes it really easy for 4 of us to bust through and take Hills while the zergs are busy elsewhere.
I hope they don’t restrain too much from doing something crazy because of the personal story. With the Trehearne take-over fiasco, level 50+ probably need to be redone from scratch anyway, and I’d also add the human, sylvari and norn first 20 levels of personal story as well because those races’ starting stories weren’t nearly as exciting as the charr/asura starter stories.
Ideally the personal story and the living world should be merged together. That would solve the issue.
Say, for example, in a living world update, Trehearne summons players to Orr. It turns out that Zaithan is still alive and the Pact is reassembled in an emergency. This leads to a temporary solo story instance that ends with a catastrophic defeat of the Pact and Trehearne dying. After that, the task to reform the Pact falls on the player’s shoulders. This opens the new level 50-60 personal story missions. (The old level 50-80 missions would be completely removed from the game, and the Arah story mission would be changed to an instance where Destiny’s Edge talk about the old Zaithan fight.) Then on the next story update, something happens in the living world, which opens up the level 60-70 missions of the personal story. And it would keep going like that, well past level 80. Until the culmination of the story that would end up with the real Zaithan fight. After that, expansion time and it starts over with another dragon, hehe.
That way of handling the personal story would use the episodic nature of the Living World to make the player wonder that will happen to him, what was the consequence of any choices he made in the story, and so on. A player who would have missed the events would have the missions but not the living world events that came with it.
It would be a great idea if the LS is going to be an on-going “feature” (I assume it is), if the personal stories could be made to “match”.
Creating matching stories – the actual writing – however is the “easy” part of that “solution”.
The difficulty (time/scheduling/cost) is in the voice acting. Do you, can you get all the voice actors back? Do you not bother trying to match voices (ouch), do you redo all of the personal stories, do you scrap personal stories as part of the game content?
All of the above have associated costs. The last option has consequences.
More cost/time effective to leave PS intact and work around them.
PS: I run in a small group. We are constantly in skirmishes with thiefs and mesmers.
Yup, those are THE 4 classes I have played in WvW.
Oh, pardon me, I think I took my ranger out once for about an hour and decided I was hurting my server.
Have yet to take my Mesmer out because I just don’t want to make the trade-offs required on my utility bar.
LA can’t be destroyed because a ton of personal story steps use it. And use it intact (i.e. we need to save it from Zhaitan.)
Personal Story is a giant detractor from Living Story. Zhaitan is forever alive, Orr is forever corrupted, LA is forever untouched. If PS wasn’t there, imagine the possibilities. ANYthing could change. We could literally cleanse Orr forever, sort of like the Karka event.
Nothing says ANet cannot have players go into an instanced version of the old LA (e.g. leave the personal story absolutely intact and have players deal with the inconsistency of the “old” LA versus whatever changes the LS may bring.)
If players are willing to buy into all the stuff that the LS causes, they can buy into discrepancies between the changed world and the personal stories. Hasn’t ANet already asked us to “suspend belief” several times with Scarlet?
I think one of my friends is near the top range of people that play this game! He is 62, and still runs dungeons/wvw with us youngins in our twenties. I actually really like the fact that people who are older than the stereotypical gaming age are in game learning how to play!
“Learning how to play” made me giggle. As a harcdcore elite through over 8 games in 14 years, yeah, that happened quite a while ago.
Age is only a number.
Appreciate the sentiments of your post!
I know a lot of folks in their 60’s still playing MMOs and few in their 80’s.

Add one more thread on this subject to the long list of threads about this already out there. (I’m a strong advocate for no dueling.)
Forum search is your friend.
Every MMO that has group-pvp has hackers. They were rampant in DAoC, present in Warhammer Online, and don’t get me started on WoW and the whole raft of WoW clones. (I’ve only seen one hacker here in GW2 WvW in over a year.)
Hacking dimishes the game.
I can undertand why ANet does not have a report hack ability because it could lead to abuse. They don’t for PvE either.
However, like PvE, if you care enough and take the time to fill out and send an email to support (with supporting screenshots, video, anything that will help provide conclusive information), support tends to take those seriously.
It may take a long time for them to investigate (which in some cases is understandable). And part of the problem is an inability to identify the hacker by name.
Hope that helps.

Likes:
1) the fact that a small group of 4 players can make a strategic difference. Don’t ever lose that.
2) PPT – see also this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/If-you-could-change-the-scoring-mechanic/first#post3545678
3) siege equipment
4) freedom to play as desired (zerg, roam, havoc, etc)
5) 3-way rivalry – ONLY way to do this correctly
6) Darkness Falls dungeon —- oops, that’s me dreaming. Seriously, the community-building that WvW creates.
Dislikes:
1) maps too small
2) not enough maps
3) need more reasons to strategically defend. GW2 WvW has a distinct lack of ownership because maps are not really realm based. There is no “home” to defend, there are just constant “turnover” objects and a strong motivation to let them go to be able to get points when taking them back.

I’m sure I could come up with more if I actually thought about it. These are top of the head. And you notice “likes” are double “dislikes”. Not bad ANet, not bad.
PS: most wanted update: account bound wxp. Would love to get some of my alts back to WvW. Heck, might even motivate me to make another whole set or two of ascended gear.

….but but but…I don’t wanna be a manliest man! I enjoy being a hardcore female RvR…er….. WvW killing machine, thank you. Although it IS hard to tell the difference between male and female dwarves sometimes. I think guys tend to braid their beards more than the gals. <straightface>
Good luck with your Oceanic recruiting, guys!
because i dont all about this game
