If you could change the scoring mechanic

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

Stupid pre-coffee idea:

Have points awarded based on number of players present when tower/lord turns. Or award bonus points if the number of players there is under say 10. Reward the tactics/strategy required for smaller groups. And the use of siege.

Ditto on defending.

I like being able to score points by taking a keep/tower with just 4 of us. Sometimes we get 2-3 people who see us charging in and they manage to get there in time to help us take the lord. Same with defense. 4 of us holding off a small-med size zerg, sometimes joined at the last minute by another 1-2 players.

Might help balance low pop servers who cannot muster large zergs.

And encourage anti-zerging.

I’m sure folks here can shoot holes in this but if helps with the discussion, I’m willing to be stupid.

Guesting, Mega-Events, and the Consequences

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

If the pro of lower-population server is you know/recognize people, then the con of high-population server is you don’t. I’m not sure what the difference of being placed in overflow is, then. With high-population, you get different groups each time for doing Mega-events…same with overflows.

I am not sure limiting guesting even more is a solution, though I don’t know what might be the solution, or if a solution is warranted.

Realize you are referencing the OP, just wanted to state that a high pop server does not mean there is not a real sense of community and a recognition of many of the guilds and players there.

After playing on BG since release, there are huge numbers of players and guilds I know from time spent in LA, QD and FG champ trains, zone bosses, the dragonite loop in Orr zones. And more importantly WvW. BG has a community that supports each other in both PvE and WvW and a lot of that overlaps.

I know we are not the only high pop server that does this.

We may get different groups, but a lot of them are folks we’ve worked with before on multiple “battlefronts”.

Guesting is a good option…. it has negative tradeoffs when it comes to meta events.

“Correcting” the guesting mechanics to prioritze server natives over first come first serve might help.

Mostly, I sit in the “scale the meta event” camp. However, I believe this flies in the face of an unstated philosophy that basically says these events are meant to be challenging, meant to be hard and not something that ought to be accomplished by a small group of people.

I am not sure what the solution is either. Currently, I think the problem has too many constraints, including the philosophy behind the concept versus actual execution in reality.

Suffering Through The Story

Trahearne is an entitled user.

The reason you don’t see him in the Zhaitan step is because by that point, Trahearne got what he wanted out of you (help doing his personal quest) and doesn’t feel the need to help you at all. “Got my green star cleared, thanks so much good luck with yours.”

I STILL think Zhaitan should have choked on him.

PS: 2 good reasons to do personal stories: one of the best way to level quickly (especially if you have someone help you when stories are red.) And two: getting rid of the annoying green text on your screen.

The personal stories will actually guide you through different zones.

And pffft on the buffoon named Tybalt. Forgal (Vigil) has some incredible one liners, especially going through Fields of Ruin.

Agreed! Repetitive strain injuries are not fun.

Make sure it has a confirmation window. And an ability to stop the process anytime.

Agreed, I’d just like to be able to buy/make a super-sized econo-pack blueprint that makes 50 siege at a time. Doing that twice for 100 is not a bad deal. They can already stack multiples to make stacks of mystic salvage kits.

Mike Z Interview - All Can Be Destroyed

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

“A lot of the focus of these final releases will be putting the player character at the centre of the story again. For the personal story it was all about the player’s journey and during the last year we’ve been telling the story of the world. Now we want to get back to why the player matters in the story,” Mike again foretold, with the promise that Tyria won’t be the same after this current season wraps up.

Just out of curiosity… does anyone think that our characters are going to “matter” so much that they actually speak?

I’m tired of being struck mute.

ha ha our characters stopped being the center of the story a little before Claw Island got invaded or did the author of this article actually make it that far? He didn’t really question the lead designer about how Trahearne kinda stole your story from you when that was mentioned.

This article is a nice advertisement, all aboard the Hype Train.

Agree, it’s hype and that’s a double-edged sword because failure to deliver on the hype (again) can attrit those players ANet is hoping to lure back.

.
.

“The point that we’re making is this – Guild Wars’ Living Story is finally beginning to pay off and over the next four releases players, be they returning or long term, will get to see everything that ArenaNet has been working up to for the past year without the need to plonk down any extra money. Many MMO developers would either charge a subscription fee or force the player to snap up an expansion in order to enjoy this extra content, but instead ArenaNet are giving it away for free in the hopes that they’ll hook you into their game for the long term.”

.
.

I found this particular paragraph telling, because that particular “free” content has turned a lot of players away from the game with Scarlet’s story dragging on without any real depth (see multiple long threads.) Many players are just counting patches, waiting for the whole debacle to be over in the hopes that more serious content may be addressed (again, see multiple threads over multiple forums.) And then there are all those discussions debating whether GW2 would have been better off – quality/content wise – if it actually had been used a subscription model.

.
.

“Inevitably the trade of for this kind of event-driven update cycle is that the really meaningful story content won’t stick around for long, but then isn’t that what the term Living World is all about? Giving players an opportunity to explore meaningful moments that are finite and unreplayable, offering them ownership of said moments, empowering them to tell there friends ‘I was there way back when…’. You know, like you would in the real world when something momentous happens!”

.
.

I don’t understand what ANet believes is the motivating factor behind “I was there”. Status? Bragging rights? Meaning? I don’t believe players have “ownership” of those moments. ANet does. Those of you who actually enjoy the temporary content, do you feel “empowered”? Is the content more meaningful because it’s finite? I’m actually trying to understand this viewpoint.

That part of the interview is now taped to the wall above my PC to remind me why GW2 is not an MMO (in the traditional sense). It is a good reminder that ANet will never have my loyalty or long-term business; it reminds me to continue looking for a replacement game that is subscription based and one that exemplifies what an MMO actually offers: a persistent world. Not a series of snapshots strung together.
.
.
Good luck to all those who are excited by this latest information! Enjoy the new coming content! I actually envy those of you who can embrace what ANet is doing.

Where are my abyss/celestial/etc hair bows?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

All they need to do is create a one-time use only Hair Accessory Dye Converter kit for 350 gems.

Gives you a “transmute” or converter item that uses an unswallowed dye and allows a one-time conversion and application use to a make-over hair kit dye.

ANet makes money 2 ways: you are spending more gold to buy ANOTHER dye off the TP and EVERY time you want to change a hair accessory color, you have to purchase ANOTHER dye converter kit.

Note: this suggestion not offered as a good customer experience (which ANet does not appear to care about), but as an opportunity for ANet to make more money from gem store purchases.

.
.
.
Maybe that will get their attention.

Any plans for new servers?

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

If you want to have your game look like it’s thriving (especially to new players), then marking every server (regardless of how you manipulate numbers) as “high pop” is a supposedly smart marketing move.

Part of why ANet will never do server merges. Apparently, unlike other MMO’s, GW2 is in a tenuous position and “server merges” says “game is dying” in a very public way.

Perhaps other MMO’s just aren’t aware they are sending that message when they work to fix population issues. <straightface>

Why would anyone WANT to swap servers to BG?

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

Latest patch made me realize why people xfer to BG: Anet makes new content for servers like BG. If your server is not overpopulated, GL getting any content done.

And the tradeoff for BG and other high pop servers is that a huge amount of players end up in overflows and unless they log on and wait an hour or so, (assuming they actually CAN end up on the server), then there’s a good chance it may take them weeks to get the new content done. (See: Teq, overflows and constant failures of random players in overflows to master the encounter for weeks.) Nevermind people guesting to make sure they can get it done (which then bumps more “natives” to overflows.)

Not saying large pop servers aren’t better off.

There are tradeoffs.

And I left comments regarding zerg events on the general forum. I’ll just summarize here by saying the design process needs review. :p

Pardon me for sounding idiotic: am I playing WvW wrong?

My 4-man swat team can take keeps and towers and positively impact PPT on an on-going basis, even with a outmanned buff on.

4 of us can defend a tower/keep from a small-medium zerg. 4 of us can cut off supply. 4 of us can divert zergs to defend. 4 of us can engage another 4-5 man havoc team. 4 of us with 2-4 more players together can take SM under the right circumstances.

Nothing to do with stack, “skill”, or even severTS (because we aren’t on it.) Just awaremess of opportunities on the map and a willingness to fail a lot trying.

I guess we should not take advantage of the huge zergs that are busy elsewhere on the map looking for fights to grab PPT?

Do You Enjoy Massive Zerg Content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zerg encounters may not be a good long-term choice for a game facing eventual attrition.

Says the guy who apparently bought over 40 character slots.

I have bought 3-4 accounts for every game I have played over the last 14 years. That’s not about “supporting” the game… that’s part of my MMO playstyle.

Character slots has nothing to do with attrition. I can easily abandon 4 accounts worth of characters if a better game appears and/or the devs of the current one “breaks the game” for me in a way I cannot accept or tolerate.

At the moment, the ONLY thing keeping me in this game is my guild.

Watching ANet tread down similar “classic” path of other MMOs that have seen attrition issues.

Do You Enjoy Massive Zerg Content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

goldenwing.8473

I want to be really clear about the following distinction between raids and encounters:

I enjoy raid content that occurs outdoor that requires coordination, tactics and a raid leader similar to Dragon encounters and MLs in DAoC.

I do not particularly enjoy meaningless, laggy outdoor zerg encounters such as those found in RIFT and GW2.

I also do not enjoy large instanced raid content and everything that goes with it (WoW, RIFT, EQ2 and the other WoW clones.)

I am willing to have a trade-off in a game of outdoor zerg content if it preserves 5-man instances. I don’t have to do the zerg encounters.

Snacktime,

I left SOR precisely because of that.

Some commanders were yelling at pugs and berating them. TS channels were locked by guilds wanting to do their own thing. End of the day, we are gamers and we are just pixels, no need to be rude.

I just came back 2 days earlier after I was told that those commanders left SOR and guild channels were unlocked.

I am hopeful that things will continue to improve.

FW

Sor is rebuilding and I think we have a chance to stay in T1 for a while as we lost a lot of our bad apples that drove new people out of wvw. We had commanders in mapchat saying things like “bad = don’t play”. We still have issues such as people constantly denigrating others for playing uplevels, etc.. Good commanders realize the game is supposed to be fun, and adapt accordingly and still win fights.

A lot of the bad attitudes stem from not winning PPT in so long. People start to look for alternative ways to ‘win’. The result was a turn toward hardcore play with only the most serious players being welcome. That wins fights, but it doesn’t result in a healthy community, you need to support all styles of play without denigrating those that choose to play differently.

Being a good commander on field is not enough, you need to be a good leader. The former can win battles, but it takes the latter to win the war.

Sounds like good news. We’re getting good fights with your SEA guilds these days

It’s a pity we can’t have good fights during Oceanic though. We just don’t have the numbers at that time. Can barely pull numbers to queue one map unless we get a lot of NA players staying up combined with a lot of SEA players logging on early.

Excellent comment about Leadership. Will happily follow a good “leader”. Will break off and roam from a bad commander.

As far as late hours on BG, my guild normally tries to help cover in the midnight to 4 AM PST timeframe. We often have the outnumbered buff which makes for creative strategies, a lot of porting and a lot more fun. Don’t know if we can sustain those hours though, because some of us have found that staying up that late consistently is a little harder when you’re in your mid-50’s, rather than 20’s or 30’s.

Populations ebb and flow as we’ve seen with multiple servers in GW2, and there will be constant shifts particularly for servers that are both PvE and WvW strong. Season 1 is over, there’s no predicting what will happen down the road. I know I speak for a lot of WvW players who just love the playstyle: looking forward to some good fights.

WvW appeal to usual non pvp players?

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

In my experience the RvR zones weren’t full. There were no quick response ways to get to a keep. The call went out an a huge force showed up and ran for a long time. You couldn’t smash down doors quickly. You had to carry the right kind of supplies and it made you slower and cost money. Taking a keep was an undertaking not a quick zerg activity. Defending a keep was far easier than taking one. Each realm had unique but similar classes. Ah the forums would be a joy with ranting of this and that class is OP.

Well, 52 classes is a lot to try and balance. We’re having “trouble” here with just 8.

RvR was a long time investment and no, I do not miss being encumbered, or paying for door repairs, never mind having to cart all the materials back to the keep to repair it. And for all that, if you went to take a keep, you meant business. There was an almost epic feel to it.

I do miss the almost grandiose territorial feel of keeps in RvR. And DF.

Back to the topic at hand

For GW2 PvE players or PvP players who have never experienced RvR, I can see the attractiveness of this “next gen” hybrid that GW2 has. There are players that can jump in and get their feet wet and get “rewards” in a very quick fashion. They can do that solo, in a small guild group or a large guild force. Players can log on and in an hour feel like they have done something. Even it it’s just supply camps.

Thing is, DAoC also ended up with BGs and Passage of Conflict. WoW/clones had the ability for just pure RPG-PvP in small contained areas.

I see posts out here with folks looking for “real” skirmishes, for clashes that aren’t strategic but mostly tactical. Much like those fights in DF when it turned and PoC.

Not sure what the new maps in GW2 will provide, or how they will end up being used.

One thing that GW2 got right was a “low barrier to entry” for WvW. Sometimes it means folks like the OP try it out and like it.

WvW is actually a lot of fun.

It’s too bad that most people on Blackgate apparently don’t know anything about WvW (bigger maps? transfer off lower population servers to higher population?).

styx, you ever play pre-Frontiers DAoC? The RvR zones were huge, all of them different worlds, large lands that required careful travel. GW2 WvW has managed to have everything in a small repeatable instance which can make for easy (travel-wise), quicker turnover. That’s not a bad design given the overall point structure.

However, it has more of the feel of a WoW/WoW clone mini-map, than something, I dare to use the word, epic.

As for population, BG is a family. Haven’t seen anyone on this thread advocating transferring one way or another.

I haven’t played DAoC but I’ve played Guild Wars 2. A lot. Much of the WvW maps are fairly empty. I wouldn’t mind if they did away with waypoints to increase transit time but spread out what might be less than half a dozen people across larger maps is a lil’ divorced from reality.

And….

move to a competitive WvW server

Move to a competitive tier

move to a competitive WvW server

I’m not making fun. I understand after being on Blackgate so long, your family telling others to transfer to higher tiers has just become so natural to you that you don’t notice it.

Incidentally, my server is also a family. Keep that in mind.

I respect that, sir.

And realize that in GW2 my experience on a high pop server is different. I have played multiple MMO’s over the last almost 14 years where that has not been the case (forced transfers, merges, and decimated population.)

Was not trying in anyway to diminsh your experience.

I get exasperated with “just transfer” remarks because that may solve the problem for a few individuals, it does not address any of the core issues.

I just feel maps and towers are dammn to small and easy to take, the rest is the only thing i like in the game.

Now this I agree with. The fact that you can fit all 4 maps in GW2 into one realm’s map from DAoC says a lot.

I mean seriously, one of the great things about DAoC was the size and scope of RvR, which is one of things really missing from WvW. It would take you 20 minutes to run across a single realm’s RvR map in DAoC, whereas you can traverse and entire borderland in about 3-5 minutes in GW2.

Amen.

Although most of the action ended up in Emain, lol.

Bigger maps would be fantastic!

I recently decided to try WvW for the first time, I usually don’t play pvp in mmos, the closest I’ve gotten to that was in Warcraft and even then it wasn’t my main focus.

After playing WvW for about a week so far with friends and guild mates, it’s quickly becoming my favorite game mode. xD

Welcome to the wonder that is WvW!

I play wvw for the teamwork and the strategy. Just the way I did in DAoC and Warhammer Online. Other MMO’s (WoW/RIFT, etcetera) are usually more individual-focused and rarely strategic.

There’s also that old thing called realm pride.

I’ve yet to ever run in a Karma train. My 4-man guild loves playing swat team and doing things that should not be possible (like taking a keep or tower with seconds ticking on the timer.) We love coordinating with our server family to assist where we can, updating keeps if it’s strategic to do so, +5 ing those necessary supply camps, taking ruins, enjoying the challenge of siege placement and those delightful skirmishes when we run into other small groups. And if we need to defend… there we are. We will help out PuGs and other guild groups when the call goes out. Then break back off and go back to our preferred playstyle.

Yes. That all happens on BG.

There IS variety of playstyle in WvW, even on a crowded T1 server.

Find what you love most and enjoy!

Much <3 to BG family since release.

Again, fun night running into a few small groups of JQ players that were going about in pairs and sometimes groups of 3. Again, the time frame was after 11 PM PST to about 2 AM. Yes, it’s late for us PST, but fights are smaller and the contributions we make strategically are much more meaningful. Not that we don’t mind joining up with the small zerg when defending.

/salute @ the JQ Thief trying to rez their buddy that waved back and forth with us at the N camp on BGBL. Good job, dear Sir or Madam! That was incredibly skillful. (My guildmate tried to solo that fight, and in the end, had to call for one of us help out.)

We also noticed some smaller SoR groups of about 8 to 12. Not quite the small skirmish the OP is looking for, but enjoyable for us all the same.

And as others have said, “traveling the path less taken” is the way to meet up with those mindful solo and duo roamers. At least late at night.

2014 is going to be an amazing year for GW2 and the community!

Chris

Looking at the “amazing” year 2013, this doesn’t mean much. I’d rather see you guys promise less, but start to deliver.

I’d much rather they just didn’t use superlatives.

The game itself speaks louder than meaningless cheerleading.

You can take that either way.

Why does BG always zerg? Here's why.

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

Yes, BG had the Outnumbered Buff a lot this last week. That’s what made WvW a little more fun.

I’m part of a 4-man guild swat team on BG, and we ran into plenty of small groups from both SoR and JQ this last week. One was a havoc group we kept clashing with over and over. Good times.

Week before last, we teamed up with a well-known commander and the 5 us of did an Omega push that took SM in 5 minutes. That was pretty epic.

BG also has huge zergs. I would expect nothing less on any heavily populated server. Coordinating those zergs is always a trick. I suspect the same goes for SoR and JQ. We’ve seen those zergs in action.

Our little 4-man group got nailed a few times by a big zerg. That’s how it goes. We take risks. Sometime we have rewards (being able to ninja a keep or a tower right before the timer… sometimes as close as 19 seconds to go.) Those are always balanced by those times when we go up against 3 players trying to defend a keep and suddenly our screens “freeze” with particle effects from a blob landing on us “out of nowhere”. Sometimes, those are the funniest moments watching this epic swarming mass of kill coming after 4 players. YAR!!!!!

Then it’s a fun competition to see who among our little group lasts the longest. We are going to go down. No question. But if we can’t laugh about it, we’re not having fun. And if we’re not having fun, why bother being there?

There have been plenty of times we have run across 1-2 roamers.

And times when we’ve gotten walls or doors down and called for our own blob to come help.

We’ve never had an SoR or JQ zerg try to chase one of us down, even when some of us manage to escape.

@Skooma, sorry if that has not been your experience. Sounds like you enjoy the kind of WvW play that you might have a better chance finding either very late at night (past midnight PST) or in the early morning hours on BG.

@JQ and SoR: thanks for the fun these last 2 weeks, even when the blob train ran us over. See ya out there again and /bow.

Best WvW Class - 1 January 2014

Best class is the one that best fits your playstyle, how you intuitively think, how you want to approach WvW, what you want to do in WvW. (see: sig)

Running with a guild 4-man swat team that ninja’s keeps and towers as well as running with the zerg strategically.

Composition? 2 Necros. 2 Elementalists.

Works for us.

Find what works best for you.

1) Because I play the smallest race in every MMO I’ve played for 13+ years. Especially in RvR and WvW.

2) Because nothing says “death” like short and cute. With teeth.

3) Because “Bunny Slippers” as a name for a Norn is kinda stretching it. <straightface>

Party size

Don’t believe so.

I remember the early videos where Colin et al were saying they thought that 8 was too many and that a smaller group was the way they wanted to go.

I hope they don’t ever change that.

5-man content, along with mobile combat, was the thing that drew my guild to this game, and those two reasons are the only things still keeping us here.

I understand someone wanting larger groups; it comes up from time to time (see: suggestions board.) There would have to be massive game redesign. Don’t believe ANet has time/resources for something that large, even if there was interest.

I think the direction is headed more along the lines of larger outdoor “raids”. (See: Tequatl.)

So how many characters do you have?

So, update for me. I bought the 4 additional char slots I wanted on my 2 accounts over the weekend. I now have 2 of every class. grins wildly

Level frenzy time!

Disclaimer: Yes, I am well aware that I am broken. Please do not try to fix me, it will only result in you getting hurt, and I really don’t want that.

/cheers @ LanfearShadowflame

Go for it!

I broke down and bought another character slot (character #46) and told myself it would be my absolute last one. That was, of course, after I said I’d stop leveling alts when I got #18 to 80.

I’m at 21 level 80’s now. >.<

I’m finding at some point in every MMO that I play, that the game gets stale pretty quickly and I end up just rolling alts for “endgame”. GW2 is no different, although I do have a “main” (for WvW) now that ascended gear is in.

Is it wrong that I’m hoping for a new race or a new profession?

Nah, at best she’s a baby dragon.

(References an old original Star Trek episode with an alien constantly taunting/messing with the crew and it turns out to be a child whose mother calls in from playtime.)

Scarlet certainly has all the personality of a spoiled toddler. And the hair to match.

Sooooooo, somewhere mid-Never.

At least it feels that way.

IF and that’s a big if, you have screenshots (with chat / “proof”) the best you can do is submit those via an email to support. Give support as much detailed/supporting information as you have.

I would not expect much, however. This seems to be an on-going issue across many servers, and my understanding is much of it is just not addressed.

Good luck.

Perhaps other, wiser, posters will have better information for you.

Looking forward to WvW exp being account wide.

I would not use the word “excited” however. “Finally” is a word I would use.

Not looking forward to more Scarlet themed temporary content.

I would use the word “resigned”.

I would be looking forward to an expansion.

I might use the word “excited” for that. At the moment, the two that come to mind are “skeptical” and “disappointed”.

I miss having faith in the developer.

I always try to take an objective view of developers, and did so at release.

I have to admit though, the faith I did have has been slowly draining as each consecutive patch further alienates me as a customer.

I’m still looking to balance that with positives…

…but Scarlet isn’t making it easy.

Convincing a friend to return

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

A real friend would not try to convince someone who does not like GW2 to play the game.

Other posters sitting here telling you he has to change to play the game… please think about the statement being made.

Change yourself in order to play something (for fun). Isn’t there something intrinsically wrong with that?

If he is enjoying WoW, and the endgame there, let him continue.

Nothing in GW2, including Fractals and Teq (which only spawns on a timer and is basically a PuG) will replace WoW’s instanced, gear-centric, drill-team style raiding.

I’m sure you miss your friend. He might want to come over to enjoy the holiday festivities. I wouldn’t push.

Choir bells and other musical instruments

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

This was an issue last year. The slider was introduced to help deal with it.

I reported several players last year for griefing and I know one of them got a few days to think about what they were doing. They came back after a break, started griefing again, I reminded them that reporting might result in a longer “vacation”. The annoyance stopped for a while as this person had a history of causing trouble. I believe they have since left the game.

For those objecting to reporting: this person stood in the bank in LA, constantly spamming a single annoying pitch (horn) with a lot of players in chat telling him to stop. This would happen for hours.

I also turned in feedback saying I believe that /block ought to also block musical instruments.

As others have said, the slider is your best bet. Unless you have screenshots where said player has indicated in chat that they enjoy griefing. In which case, feel free to contact support and provide the screenshot.

And yes, there are some very talented musicians out there. Particularly in light of the fact that the instruments do not cover all of the notes in an octave (sharps/flats).

Playing/practicing is one thing. Although I use my home instance for that, or dungeons with my guildmates, who often bring their musical instruments along. Using an instrument to spam one note to annoy other players… immature at best.

“Never attribute to malice aforethought that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.”

I’m guessing this isn’t just griefing, but also ignorance. Perhaps players new to WvW. Or the game. Not that it matters in the end.

Rather than an override, perhaps a 1 min window with a message to the claiming guild stating if buffs are not applied within 60 secs, the claim will fail?

Less rewards for karma trains

in WvW

Eh, we don’t flip structures for wxp/karma. We flip it because it adds to our PPT.

This.

Never been a part of a karma train in WvW.

Part of 4-man team that takes keeps and towers. Strategically.

Don’t agree with the suggestion at all to increase rewards in order to promote the things our guild does naturally as our contribution to the server, even if we’d benefit.

We don’t WvW for loot.

PS: any intuitive change to a complex system will inevitably leave that system worse off.
