problem are not the pugs the only problem is ur all QQers, all forum warriors always looking for reasons why server x is loosing vs server y and especially all this so called pvp guilds doing this server jumping, they have much more influence in the balance and structre of the server they leave or join, they act without any responsibility and now they flame the people whos server they changed, this is the biggest pile of written rubbbischhh i ve ever seen ever! get ur stuff together stop the wine and fight! in my opinion (as a sfr veteran only doing organised wvw) the only reason all this so called pvp guilds leaving sfr is coz they started to realise that they cant win against vs zergs on a long time perspective… thumbs up to all sfr players not runnin with this QQtrain still fighting and doing very good if you look at the fact that we lost big numbers and 50%-70% of all commanders are gone so this so called nonskilled pugs are doing quite well against deso and vs! stop QQ get your stuff together and dont let those “server jumping pvp guids” ruin ur motivation! see you out there mates!

@ graverr – You still don’t get it, I am one of the people in IRON who will always admit when we are blobbing, and I have actively been on the forums trying to come up with good alternatives that people can do to stop it from happening. Yet I am often the first to admit when it is happening.
You need to understand that what I wrote previously about last night is exactly what was happening. I haven’t managed to find any stream of last night from your POV but I have checked mine (yes I too stream) and it’s quiet clear that we do indeed have PuG’s with us, but again 30-35 IRON until 22:00 BST, like I mentioned above.
I’m not ‘distorting’ the facts, I am offering you a true view of what we were up to last night, that said I cannot promise that at X time on X day you didn’t see an IRON blob. Try to at least be reasonable when answering posts, it’s closed minded of you to assume that 1 IRON tag must equal 100.

Fair enough.Quite often all Deso except a few exceptions counting other guilds are mistaken for IRON especially when you can see the 1st 30 tags charging you with IRON tag.I believe at this point the shere numbers of your guild(cudos to that) influenced a lot the mentality of the “friendlies” on Desolation resulting in focusing this massive stack on a known guild commander and that is only on Anet imho.
Also bow to AFTL that before you guys joined the bl tried to take things in their own hands only,thing that is rarely seen in t1 anymore.We were not that many ourselves but having probably other 20 friendlies along might have resulted in "miniblobing"you.Yeah i said miniblob since i miss a word for the concept of only half a blob atm :p

And to those whining about IRON blob’s yet again last night – We were on both Vizunah and Desolation borderland’s last night (exclusive of the Eternal folks who are awesome btw). There were exactly 25 of us on Deso border who assisted in taking garrison and killing some SFR, while on Vizunah border there was around 30-35. Even when we all moved back to Vizunah border (22:00ish BST – 00:00 BST) we were in two groups and working pretty independently from each other.

Free transfers are only a conveniently timed excuse used by SFR for why they dropped from the top. Maybe it was getting too much anyway. They would have eventually burnt out or egos imploded like BT before. Exactly how many pugs moved to SFR? I’d be willing to bet not as many as they cry out to be. It was the exit strategy that those bandwagon guilds wanted.
If Desolation had free transfers, they would have cooperated with more players and become a stronger server, instead of their WvW guilds deserting. Desolation plays for fun and hasn’t burnt out because it was never a bandwagon server pushing for #1, even if guilds moved there at different times.
As part of IRON I can say that most people in out guild don’t like blobbing. We also hate the skill lag that we get from it… The problem is that blobbing is the only way to win right now. If you split up into smaller groups you get rolled over from the blobs that then come to defend.

If you remember correctly i was one of those voices against manipulating the match ups and said Piken should stop trying to control things and let the server settle where it’s performance takes it. Desolation only have 2 guilds, the zone blob and Coin, as coin sometimes leave the blob and fight by itself.
The only difference between Desolation and Vizunah is the coverage.

Yes they perfectly are since i cannot play the game itself if i can’t play with my guildies/friends anymore because the are stuck in queues.I tried for 2 weeks now every day i really did but i only ended up playing 10% of the time i usually play because is just not fun to stay and wait 3 hours in the queue hoping to join the few friends that got lucky and entered a map.
Also most of our raids only last like 2 and 3 hours max on weekends,how are we supposed to play if 90% of that time is afk/autoheal in the queue ?That is not the notion of what i play games for and tbh it’s exactly the opposite.
I have nothing against pugs,other guilds but it just happens tha my guild has priority.It’s ok if pugs play with us or tag along as long as i still get to play with my guild.But in the moment it becomes impossible to play with my guild the game is just not enjoyeable anymore because i want to play with them.
So what to do now?What options do i have?

Easy fix: Remove all water from WvW.Maps will be bigger and no more crash .Win-Win situation. :P
This new bug crash should not to be taken lightly.You need to consider that on t1 servers you need to wait for 1+ hour to get your guild mates inside wvw because queues .It is unnaceptable that you crash and then you will have to wait other 2 hours to reenter a map .For servers that only play wvw this is a major letdown and pve is not an option for us.Please fix this in urgency or at least let us know when you will fix this so we take a vacation.At least the ones that didn’t rage quit already.No point in playing a game where you don’t get to play but only wait wait wait and then crash+ wait some more.Oh and when you do get to play Lag and more lag .You get the ideea i hope some WvW dev really gets into this asap.

This game is getting ridiculous.We were defending bay for 2 ticks already against deso + vs blob again and what do you know we all crashed ,again like yesterday .This is getting tiresome,crashing then 2 h queue ,rinse and repeat.People’s patience can only get as far.
The fights are terrible as well .Both deso and vs with their megablobs run away from any encounter possible.WvW in this tier has become a joke ,why do you need to blob if you won’t fight?What a dissapointment.

Free transfers to T1 servers existed for 6 months, which you should know, because you might have been on SFR the first time it got to the top.
On the history of GW2 WvW, there has been a lot more free transfers than paid transfers. But of course, this is a conspiracy of Deso and VS to take the first spot.
Anet tends to help VS anyways, don’t you remember the time when SFR slipped to T2 to play the reset of the ratings. And then Anet decided “nope, we don’t like SFR”.

People still complaining about the loot? You play WvW because it is fun, the loot is just to cover for the upgrades.
No one is complaining about loot but more about tring to bring to Anet’s attention about a possible bug.

2 days thousands of kills (and i might add the average gold you can make with an average of 500 kills per day wich the average wvw joe never has the chance to make is arround 5 gold not 20).A normal solo / small group wvw player could barely make 15 silver /hour including caps.
If downed stated would be removed a good coordinated team of 20 could wipe a 80 man super blob finally.But becasue of downed state atm you can only kill as much until they ressurect themselves making a huge zerge like the t1 metas very appealing and sadly atm it’s the only way to go.Remove downed state and you will never need to remove aoe limit either.It is part of the game yes,but it only rewards and encourages super blobbing,that in the end don’t do anything for the game.
And what does a blob bring gw2 players anyway ?They create insane lag like in no other game ever before,reward no skill,no exploration and no creative gameplay.In the long run is one of the worst things in WvW but very few think about it.Curently it is impossible for the servers to handle these blob fights even with the 5 target aoe cap and that is the reason why it would never be possible to be removed,imagine 30 minutes skill lag in battles and afterwards instead of the current 20-30 seconds
Get rid of the downed state and you partially fix zerg.In 1v1 scenarios if you get downed you are a goner anyway and in 2v1 or classic outnumbered fight will always only reward numbers over skill.Anet should really get their heads into this since blobing is currently the main killer of gw2 amongst it’s fans.
I think the op already made it clear in the “i killed a player” part so no you don’t get a rare .In wvw regardless of the contenitor the loot is still random..90% of the times i get 2 spikes.Yeah spikes FTW from wooden chest.Anet should adress this since yesterday i did 40 minutes of Dungeon farming and got 8 gold.In wvw i need to make about (literaly)3000 kills to make that ammount in loot so maybe it’s not just me that believes the loot in WvW is still 10 times worse and harder to get than in pve.

Guys,guys take a step back an relax a bit with all this SFR is ddosing everyone’s TS to win.This is pointing fingers is ridiculous.
A lot of TS servers are getting ddosed lately and it has nothing to do with GW2 unless it’s some Alien conspiracy to take over the world .Check out this thread about how NA servers blame the another for ddosing them(funny human nature).Ity does not sound realistic that SFR has a hidden agenda to ddos NA cominication as well as Kodash and Elona and who knows how many others.
A lot of TS servers in EU t1 got ddos attack too atm. Visunah Square has many guild servers + community server down atm.This has probabily nothing to do with the game considering the scale but who knows.
I am not sure about the op being troll or not ,but i can asure you that i started playing wvw as soon as my 1st character was lvl 80 and only equiped with greens/yellows back in the day i used to play solo for months and still get plenty of kills in like tier 6 or so only by siting near a dolyak so you must be doing something wrong.
As for the people that say you don’t fight fights in wvw well i played from t6(maybe 7) to tier 1 and i can tell you that was never a problem.In the 3 hours i played last reset got over 600 kills last night and i must say from personal experience that in lower tiers you can get kills a lot faster and people tend to “tactical retreat” a lot less .
PS.This is neither street fighter nor wow so your expectations might be a little off in this case

Not at all as the leadership of IRON will tell you IRON play a big part on Desolation but Iron are not desolation, there are plenty of smaller guilds that put in huge amounts of effort and hours to ensure we stay where we are and I would like to thank all those involved in keeping Deso where we are. Deso is a PVE centralised server (which is why we are marked as “Very High”) and very few of us on the server focus entirely on World vs World. While some are trying to get the PvE guilds more involved in WvW I personally don’t see it was a very beneficial effort (since they will get roflstomped in T1 – but maybe im proven wrong) but there are many other guilds who might not be the same size of Iron or even that of VoTF but they do their damnedest to help the effort in WvW.
it looks more like a desperate effort to split and create problems within deso using such comments like IRON owns all,
Votf are constantly with us with they are not running their events and help us a lot with tips and ideas and personally would love them to lead us sometimes as they play a much smaller open fight tighter guild and are very skilled at it.
IRON due to its size and usually running with equal no of pugs don’t have the luxury to be like Votf/GH.

Was trying to complete story on an alt .There is no way to activate the 1st pilla whatsoever .No enemies stuck in walls.Without activating the 1st pilar you can’t get the essence to activate the orb and proceed to the next door.
Also my story its stuck at the very initial 2nd stage after “meet Sayeh al rhajid inside the catedral” .After i meet her the 2nd stage is “Explore the temple” and im stuck in here.Looking at youtube videos as soon as i kill la few npcs and proceed through the 1st door towards the 1st orb the 3rd stage should activate ,instead i can proceed inside the room ,kill all npcs inside there too and im still stuck on 2nd stage with nothing left to do.
I tried 5 times ,guest on another server and retried .Still stuck there.Anet please fix this.Now i can’t complete the story and it’s really frustrating.
Also the capping system needs to change.It is ridiculopus that 1 person can hold the pad for 100.If you wiped on a defensive position deal with it,you deserve to lose the keep.The way Anet implemented this is so ridiculously bad.
You guys defending this clearly don’t play in t1 or you lose your keeps a lot .This is over the top op.We in t1 eu get often involved in this kind of battles and after 3 hours of never wiping,yes 3 hours of straight fighting inside the lord room and over 50 times the lord get’s ressurected it is impossiblet to capture a keep close to a spawn.Servers in t1 are organized and do spec specially for this thing.Suicide lord ressing.Sure the bags are nice after 3 hours of fighting but is still frustrating that no matter how har you try is just impossible to stop it in a 100 vs 100 vs 100 fight.In the end we just have to give up or the fight lasts until people need lo log off.
This trait is ver the top stupid .No penalties whatsoever.No less hp after res,pad completely reseted and considering you only need 1 single ele at the time even downed in myst form to keep 100 people from capping is downright idiotic.I repeat there is no such strategy to kill invulnerable eles and stability/endure pain/break immobilize banner warriors even in 100 vs 1.It is basicly a system where even if your server wouldn’t fight at all ,they could hold and reset the pad indefinately sending only 1 person at the time inside.There are just no way to counter it and whoever says so you are welcome tier 1 and teach us.
Can this stupid alliance between vizunha and seafarer in vizunha borderland stop? Literally today GoD had to fight both of the servers of 100+ players for 4-5 hours. As soon as vizunha hits bay seafarer hits redbriar. The 2 servers have not attacked each others territory at all for the past 8 hours and it is getting silly. Even with both servers allied against deso we still managed to wipe them but now its getting too much for us to handle.
It was real good fights but I no longer honor a few guilds simply because they need to ally against us to kill us. I don’t know about other borderlands but in vizunha borderland they haven’t fought each other at all…

While I certainly agree that using underhanded behavior to stay in WvW while you afk for an hour is not acceptable, you should also probably understand Anet would love for you to transfer to a lower population server. So, I’m not sure if I’d expect to see them in any hurry to fix it.
Server population and wvw population are almost completely unrelated. Yaks had one of the highest server populations and lowest wvw populations at one time

2 to 4 hours queve atm still medium pop.20 hours + queves 20 hours a day

one thing that gets me is that people on SFR qq abotu people comming over. I know its havign an impact on queues….but that will likely drop off to some extent.
The thing is its not a “pvp” server, its a just a server. The overall pop was medium meaning pve was under populated. So the transfers benefit the pve’ers.
yes that has a consequence on the wvwvw pop. but its not exclusively a wvwvw server, none are.
What the issue is, is not the transfers, its teh really low wvwvw pop limit compared to server populations overall. And the smallness of the maps.
Anet need to introduce more maps, say 3 more link maps to tie the BL together. hopefully much bigger, but with a lower density of bases.
SFR worked very hard to get were it is(more like was) and acually all the guilds that transferred paying gems and made sfr their new home came here to fight and work and their main goal in this game is WvW.Take away WvW from them and you basicly kill all the population the server has and that is exactly what Anet did here ,a bigkittento every person that played wvw on this server.Simplykittenyou can’t play anymore wich happens to be the only reason you even log in gw2.
And all this fixed the medium population servers right ?They look all fixed to me now.An extraordinary display of management skills./clap
