Same here, and with my bf and his brother living miles away. I have posted about this on their facebook. So far, the only common denominator we have been able to figure out is that we are all in the UK. We are currently on ts with some guildies from the rest of Europe and they have been ingame for a while now. One of them asked in map chat of LA if anyone else from the UK managed to make it ingame and did not receive any responses.

Bottom line is, I have been trying to download the patch since it hit, have restarted it twice in hopes of fixing it (did not work obviously), and it is still on one remaining file that is so far 154mb in size. My download speed on the client is not even close to what my actual internet speed is. I just would like some sort of recognition of this problem, or should I and others like me in the UK just give up entirely for today?

I am the brother Nyx is speaking of and im stuck at 99% as well download was at 1234Mb before i stop i rather not have my computer filled with useless files thanks.

I posted this in a specializations thread before as i put a lot of work in to work out the armour/weapon these chars are using i though i post it here.

I will listing a couple of points here which will outline reason that i am certain the medium armour wearing profession we are seeing in this trailer is so highly likely to be a thief with a new rifle speculations.

1. We know the engineers new specializations lets them wilding a hammer in this trailer with the drones buzzing around him so are there two very different engineers in this trailer and no thief’s?

2. If that is indeed a engineer in the picture ,Anet have some funny ideas as to what a engineers should look like considering they put the hammer wilding engineer in the scene before in magitech armor http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magitech_Medium_Armor_Skin with is a perfect fit for any engineer but are we really suspected to believe they filmed a different engineer in the same trailer wilding a guild sharp shot rifle http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Guild_Sharp_Shot.jpg and totally different armour? Which im all most 99% certain is Heritage armour. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heritage_armor_
why would they go to all the trouble to have two totally different looking engineers in different equipment in the same trailer? I could understand if it was showing of new armour we can unlock in the maagma jungle but its not. Unless this is not an engineer but in fact is a thief wilding a rifle.

6. Final point If you where designing new specification for all the professions would you not wan’t to use all the weapons in game? what i mean here is give each profession a different weapon they could not normally use one per profession.
Why would you give two profession the use say the staff other give each profession there own new weapon perversely unusable by them, make scene right?

So to me its clear all of those points make me believe wholeheartedly this is indeed a thief wilding a rifle we are looking at which is super exciting.

But its really is up to your if you chose to believe or not, Only time will tell.

  • Thief – Uses a rifle (proof)

This isn’t proof. I think a lot of people are forgetting that engineers use rifles and are medium armour.

Also he has some sort of flying machines tagging along with him, so I’m betting that was an engineer.

I’m sorry to tell you this but that is not the same character as the one we are talking about your talking about the one wilding the hammer with hover drones following him. they are totally different characters. and i will explain why i believe the character we are talking about is in fact a thief not an engineer.

People keep complaining about that -_- No one wants to be thankful to the devs for creating specializations? Of course we begin with one, but come on, you’ve spent 2 years with “simple” classes. Even if they introduce “only” 10 new skills for a complete bar, that’s more that enough to begin with, because they said there would be more. Instead of spitting on a game that’s not even released yet, just say thank you, it’s free and it won’t kill you.

They can’t help themselves all they know is whining they think there entitle to what they want. I’ve got news for you all, your not entitle to kitten you get what your given. You ever buy it or you don’t simple.

be disappointed all you want changes nothing for the people with realistic expectation.

Not surprising at all. I’m sorry to say this, but anyone who thought there would be more than one specialization per profession was simply feeding their own hype. That disapointment you feel is your own doing. arenanet never hinted that there being more than one.

This X 2 its your own fault people have been saying this on the forum to there blue in the face your getting ONE specialization and ONE weapon for that chose profession you could not nominally use.

So now we know that all the guess work everyone has done along with me about weapons and specification are true. So ever deal with it or don’t buy it simple.

I’m still riding the hype train all the way to the station see you there or miss out on the fun.

To enable hammer for my engi do i need to sacrifice my mechanic (toolbelt) and some traits?

Yes very probably instead having turrets to use as utility i suspect you will get these small hover bots we see in the picture instead same with belts.

To clarify if you chose to specializing it will lock most probably lock some of your old traits, utility and weapon choices, but will unlock an entirely new set of traits, utility and add one new weapon previously not usable by your class.

Clearly to lazy to use the world map and zoom out to see just how big the Maguuma Wastes and Magus Falls is. Its ok I’ll wait why you go and check for yourself so i can enjoy watching you eat your own words. After all its only a stupidly massive area we are talking here, close to half the size of the map we have unlocked right now but for some that just not not good enough. Seams like expatiation size content to me.

No your wrong you want get all your weapons and traits when Specialising they state that much if you Specialise you will not get the the use of all the weapons and trait of say a longbow ranger.
Im 100% sure they will lock the long/short bow use when you are a Druid so you are more support/heal focused then DPS it make perfect scene if you think about it.

Specialization here does not mean “better”..its only means something else…a new weapon with new weapon skills, new utility and elite skills, and traits.

so what do we know if each profession will be getting one new weapon.

we know:

Necro- GS
Ranger- staff
Engneer- hammer
Mesmer -Shield
Elementalist-Sword

So from this we can work out that there is a very very slim chance the char in this picture is a engineer. As we now know it cant be a ranger as they have there new weapon in the form of the staff. I have also yet to see an engineer player who dress there char like a thief. I’m pretty sure the Dev’s have some idea about character appropriate amour especially for a trailer.

i don’t get why people are still speculating if there will be more than one Specializations per-class. When its clear stated right here there will not be on the release of the expansion dose not mean they will not or could not add more in the future.

I spoke with Colin at the after party. Only ((((ONE)))) specialty per class at this time. It works very much like a secondary profession where you can mix and match your skills. It can also be modified any time you are out of combat. Unclear if each class is only getting one new weapon but from the ranger speciality it appears at least that the new weapons come from the new specialties.

Of course are new chars want be locked to the jungle maps that not how Anet design there game to be played.
Play as you want to play, you will be able to roam all of Tyria with you new chars.
How els do you expect people to level up to 80 with scrolls?

Don’t forget the new jungle maps are lvl 80 zones, so you will have to level up first before you can even play there content with your new class.

biggest problem i see with this is it will be slow no haste of 25% movement speed not sure what i can do to fix this?

The problem here is simply people have gotten lazy and dare i say it stupid to the mechanics of this game so they can’t adept anymore.

I guess people have not been paying attention to the recent updates Anet has been pushing out like the nerf to zergs over all DPS all the recent living story events need the map to split up into groups and coordinate with each other to win or even just to get loot like wurm, clockwork champs, manikin, ect ect. Do you not see a pattern here?

Learning to adapt is the nature of an online mmorpg but sadly, that has been forgotten by the masses and need to be remember again. Until people learn to change up there play style they will go without or be destined to farm COF forever!

not at all i was hitting 18-20k one shot with this build is a theifs worst nightmare i can no longer get any where close to this its anymore total bullkitten!

Lets try it out, I’ll be right back with my results.
Hittin 12k damage with killshot. Can still be maxed further with bloodlust stacks and 20% more damage while under 25% hp. and its without any vulnerability stacks. So considering all that you should be able to max it out around 18k dmg. on a light armor target while y’r below 25% hp and while he has 25 stacks of vulnerability on him. This is calculated with 12 stacks of might.

well to get that sort of damage you need all moons to a line to have a Nats fart of a chance to get that kill shot to hit 18k damage so what your tell me you have to have 25 stack might and vulnerability to do that sort of damage when before patch a stack of blood lust would be all i needed to hit 18 yep build is dead

So before this horrible crit damage nerf i could hit 16k damage with my kill-shot max hit was 20k agent super glass builds.

now im trying to fix the horrible mess Anet has left me basically a dead toon with a dead build and it just dose not seam possible.
As the max crit damage i can get to is around 88% not even 100% crit damage that is useless considering i was running with 136% cirt damage before crit nerf.

so my question to you what is a warrior max crit damage and second can a sniper kill shot build be made anymore?

well that may well be but why dose it have to be delayed why dose are pet main skill have to be delayed from the moment i press it or better still no mater how many time i press it it just want trigger at all. If this has be fix you can fall me seam as buggy and as crappy as it ever was. some times it want trigger no matter how many time you press it, great design

so if this is fixed then wow.

Is it just me of is the pet f2 skill still not responding when you click it like a 2 sec delay some times. Which it beyond useless. How do i stop someone from stomping a team make if my fear want trigger when i tell it to.

the resion to use the LB is for the rapid fire and point blank shot not forget when some one is feared for 8s and running away i can switch to longbow triggering poison and rapid fire then im the back of the head this kill most people .

So im running the fear build now its just to good we are talking an 8s fear from player hiting you lol and a 3sec fear from the wolf.

Ive been playing this in pvp and people just cant kill me its so good at avoiding damage team with the silly amount of condition damage you do its a beast.

people seam to forget some people built there character for crit as there main stat No way in hell that is only a 10% damage reduction for those player

take my char used to have 123% crit damage now its more like 95% has been nurfed into the ground by 30%

Request for removal of transfer cost

underworld is a dead server thanks to these free transfers so i agree to make the low pop server free to transfer to. But why would anyone want to transfer to a dead server. The answer know one will, just making it free will not make anyone move so nothing will change and underworld will lose more and more people untill there is no one left.
Anet have no chose but to merge low pop servers together that is there only option and they know it.

I have had just about anoth of this crap as i can take!
The low pop server are getting creamed we don’t stand a chance they just getting farmed over and over again 24/7 take my server we are all ways out number even on our own borderlands with is total bullkitten!

So what does Anet do but give out free transfer to empty are already ghost town server even more so now if you try to stay and though it out you get smacked about for your troubles. i used to love wvw but this has kill any enjoyment i had for it and none of my guildlys mates will play wvw and i can’t blame them.

There is just no fun to be had in my wvw server anymore its like smashing your face agent a brick wall pointless, painful and not remotely fun.

Unless Anet want everyone in my server to leave, lol not like they have not all ready “cough Underworld cough. cough!” They really need to start merging small pop server now not next month but now, but who are we kidding here we all know they want $_$ don’t we.

I wonder if this will get deleted just like the rest we will have to wait and see.

so this is a picture to give you an idea of just how many unid dyes i will be getting and if you think most of the player in game ent going to get the same the i don’t know what to tell you.

just from looking at this picture you cant see how many i will get and if everyone is in game get the same if not more unid dye your………… UNID DYES WILL BE WORTHLESS!!!

LOL so many deluded fools in this thread think they’re going to strike big come patch day XD

Apparently there cant see the mark for buying dye has been slashed in half if not more. Just going to think up an example of the top of my head say you have 4 characters on your account which i think is a fare average to base off of.

So taking that into amount and let’s do the maths here they get a unid dye for each copy of the same dye they have on the other 3 characters out of the 4 that is 3x the unid dye for every copy they have on their character. let’s not forget that some players have 8 characters so that 7×.

so 4 characters with let’s say 40 dyes unlocked each, that would work out at 120 unid dyes just popping into existence correct? Now let look at how many people are in game let’s say 2million players maybe more, maybe less.

Ok what is
120 unid dyes x 2 million player = a metric kitten tone of dyes

Which is a dam site more than the market could ever shift e.g. “flooding the market lowing there price!”

We are talking 10s of millions of dye been added to the mark from just the dye crated from fin air not even taken into account the shear amount of unid dyes that have been stock pile or are on the tp as we speak if you add them all up the mind boggles at the amount of dyes that will be available on patch day.

I’ve said it once and i will say it again until you learn it. These dyes will be worthless or at best there price will bottom out back to there original TP price.

Unless everyone in game stock pile every dye they get for years you will see no profit from this.
