i would go for a new pc. i have the same gpu and i know it’s not that good but the rest of your pc is old too. just like what people told me an upgrade is the best way to improve performance.

i think the 520m is better than 9400gt based on windows experience index.

and i wonder how well can i run gw2. i have heard that 32 bit data can’t be used on a 64 bit so i am patching from the start. these are the specs that i have which have variations in the product. find the full specs at the link i gave

What i mean by harder to get is the stones. They will be harder to get than transmutation stones but will be more useful. You won’t need to transmute over and over again to keep the armor you want.

So this is how this works:
As we all know, there is this transmutation system which allows us to wear an armor we like with the stats of another armor. We use transmutation stones to do this. But when we get a better armor, we need to transmute it again which costs another stone.
My suggestion, avatar armors, are armors that overlay your current armor and does not need to be transmuted.

So how does this work?
There will be avatar stones which will be harder to get than transmutation stone. This converts an armor into an avatar armor. there will be a new tab in the equipment screen which will be called “avatar” where you equip avatar armors. these avatars will not expire. they will be hard to get but will make you look better.

no. you can use the disc how many times you want on any computer. the serial code is used on your account and not on the game so you don’t need a new one unless you want a new account.

A thousand dollars or so? You should wait for april or may for next gen cpus and gpus.

I must have misread your post. Im no expert at this xD. Have you updated your drivers? Try restarting your comp.

Try backing up GW2.dat and reinstall the game. Just paste your backed up GW2.dat. worked for me when i had this problem.

Disc 2 does not autorun. You should wait until the intaller asks you to and click ok. That would be around 48%.

Just did some research and i think i should wait for the next gen. Plus Maxwell really excites me. Prolly about late april to early may. Just in time for my birthday.

i have thought of that. i am also thinking if GW2 will officially support windows 8 (most likely) by march i think i will know the answer. a laptop would be a good one too. considering my parents want to buy a new one. any laptops you would like to recommend?

yes, that is normal for a fresh install. currently, GW2’s size is 15GB. i myself had to go through more than 5 hours of patching before i actually played the game. just go do something else while waiting. like watching a movie, or you could leave your pc running while you sleep so that when you wake up, you can play immediately.

How much will an i7 cost? I don’t want to OC and i want a gpu that can run most games at high. I have little knowledge about building a rig . Also, i can use my old case but i am not sure about my powerrsupply. How many watts should i get? Those ssd’s i heard about, i don’t even know what they stand for but are they worh a try?

I have been considering that but my pc is just a year and a half old. And i believe that my mobo supports ddr3. However, i might buy a new one next year. Could you recommend some mobos, cpus and gpus for me or if you would like, a rig. Please include prices.

i have about 95$ and i would like to ask if 2 4gb ddr3 rams are worth it or a new gpu would be more needed.

i see….. i crash even on non-crowded areas. and my memory usage is at almost 100% when i crash. it says out of memory. but will the 4gb give any improvements?

so my game crashes at massive WvWvW battles and i am planning to get 2 2gb ram stick to replace my old ones. would it help to not crash the game at massive battles?

i can’t seem to put my map back to my lower right screen. i accidentally put it in the upper left. is there some kind of UI reset? i want it back.

be patient, i also waited for so many hours before i have played the game. and yes, you can copy the files but i recommend installing from the installer first then replace the gw2.dat with the patched one.

Or you can make a shortcut of the Gw2.exe, name it as Guild Wars 2 Repair. Then right mouse click the shortcut and go to properties. A window will appear. Under the Shortcut tab, you can see something like this:

Target: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe”

Change that line to this:

Target: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair

Click OK and then run the shortcut.

repair doesn’t work sometimes.

if you experienced some game freezes or the game is not starting at all, try backing up gw2.dat and reinstall guild wars 2. that way, you won’t download all the patches you need. second, if you just reinstalled or you have a working gw2.exe, try backing it up. if you experience freezes and the game not starting, just paste your backed up gw2.exe and try playing again. i have tried this because i had a backup of my fresh gw2.dat and i experienced sound errors and the game freezes. probably cuz i just put a customized soundtrack. i pasted my gw2.exe and it worked again. i hope this can save the time of some players.

it is working now. reinstalled my gw2 through my cd and pasted my backed up gw2.dat.
