dps is all that matters. U cant knock, seal bosses just dps dps. Eningeers gimmick tricks dont do rats kitten to them outside grenades.
Main reasons for killin trinity is that in the end dps dps. Nothing but dps. Bosses don require skill intrreupts (pistol daze, nade 3).
First in beta engineer pistol 1 was nerfed so hard that in my semi-defensive build it does 300 dmg on auto (weee u gonna diee!!) But I bare with it for shield skills + elixir b. Thus this granted me option to be defensive grenadier. OFcourse goin defensive nades didnt hit that much but I thought when we finaly get the sigils i get some damage bonus (Who ever got in their little brains that sigils add 35% total damage) Grenades are ground targets. U need to move ur mouse and aim and wait them fly. I dint know Anet havent played this game even that little to realize this. Now everything in this class is broken. Last attempts are those silly mgiht stacking but they have been done since august and do u see 25might engis allaround? (its bad way of gaming to focus one boon stackin instead of fightin)
Anet did awfull job with engineer since start. There is no questioning this. Alot of our traits are compeletely useless or even not working!! (like goin to 20 pts to explosives u get land mines when go 25%. These have never worked and if they did why would u enter them? I mean going so deep in one traitline getting nothing out of it!!)
Engineer was supposed to be jack of all trades having versatile builds and skill use. They dont. Whatever kit u choose u have to put all ur traits to support that kit or its plain useless. (well after traiting it still be pretty useless vs other profession dmg) Therefore if u hold for example missthrower and want be effective there is little options in traitlines. juggernaut juggernaut.
The thing is we were the weakest from start and gettin nerfed all patches and gettin absolutely nothin back! Like november patch. All engiis were sweating off from excitment when anet announced around 20 changes to engineer. Nerfed skills and fixes that no one knew about. Then last stand, 14th december. Mood among engiis was at its peak. “This time we shall get the fixes, its been long enough, anet will surely handle this, finally working traitlines and the sigils omg the sigils!” Rest is history.

Im really confused at the moment. I love gw2 but the only prof i really like to play is kinda out of job. Before we were “the working class, jack of all trades”. Whats our job now? People are posting might stack builds but they have been played and done long ago. On paper they look good and for fast pace pvp action might aswell work but for wvw bleeh. The way of gaming in mightbuild is boring. u keep an eye on some boon rate rather than focus battle. Sadly, at now its the only way to go with tankcat.
I loved my grenadier engineer to the bits. Ive played it from beta1 and have had all exo sets and alot different runes to test variations. I always found something new there knowing skill1 gets me dps if i can make surroundings right. (how to survive bursters attackin, retaliation? Go for elixir S or more dmg on static charge etc.. ) Finally Anet anounced sigils will come in. I went all peanuts. Finally its here! I specced my build to defensive side so nades sigil power would bring it to higher lvl. Berserker nadiers are easy prey, tanky ones are the kings in these days. (were)
I and other nadiers have been punished for some reason and I clearly dont know why. Have there been any videos of nade engi killing big groups or owning in 1v1 constantly? Have there been any threads of grenades being op? (some say they were in pvp when throwing close to ur body = dps) I play wvw so nade engineer would never survive to bash grenades around him close range. Sigils would have made nadier to competite with thief, guardian, warrior, mesmer equally. (well guardian still might too much)

I dont understand logic : Engineers to do somet other than nades (dps par other proffs) —> nerf nades so they suck as much as all rest. = forum engineers happy that they not forced to use nades anymore.

– played this build since first beta. in Wvw yeh if u spec to berserker u do around 1,4-5k nades and die off in second when zergs/defenders do their autos all together.
- Went for soldier stats and got some retaliation and might and nades hittin crit 900. I was thinkin its ok when add sigils here. I dont go down that easy but far from guardian lol… so now my nades will crit all that 600 or less? BEWARE OF ME!!!

I might actually play my engineer now. Before I felt if I wasn’t doing grenades, I wasn’t doing what I optimally could be doing (in PvE), and grenade spamming just isn’t fun.
Personally I like this change, grenades were completely overpowered, and now I can go p/p condition build and never look back.
Too bad ur dps is third of the other profs. haven fun though. Weird logic u have there.

I have only played engineer from beta 1 and decided its my only toon becoz its differs alot from other usual professions in gaming. Now it really does. Say this is just bad dream.
two handed weapons should have 2 sigils. now kit user engi only p/p p/s if want the maximum advantage. Great news for us to get sigils!! Been waiting since beta.
Reserve Mines: this annoys me so much. For grenadier there is so much usefull things u could get in explosives. This does absolutely nothing. I wonder if any other profession has trait like this at 20 -lines!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean ur supposed to get sweeter cookies the more u invest into trait line. This is worst joke of all jokes. Should be removed (no silly fixes or attempts of trying to make it “workish”). Most useless thing in any game ever. REMOVE IT!

I wonder if people still go on with that ascended gear is not better than exo? They are way better when using maintance oils and such. 1% more critdmg there n there gives change to go more tankier gear and ends up being stronger gearwise than exo holder. Game wasnt supposed to be gear grind. Now newcomers get their rares and start save exo and ask “will i make it there then?” No then the grinding starts. The thing i loved about gw 2 is that i wasnt forced to sit all day at dungeon entrance to look party suited for me like many (most) online games. If no party around i could go to wvw/pvp which gave me the money and items to buy/craft exotic gear. I just trully dont understand why Anet that has done great job so far with game decided to go for grinding. (fightin bots (yes there is still tons, most games do nothin about them, skill balances, events, pretty fair pvp (needs some fixes but beats every single pay to win crap)
Legendary weapon is massive grind and my ultimate challenge. (long run i will make it slowly) but now i have ascended to grind too. by craftinh i need tons of ectos and 250 t6 mats. Thats massive grinding!
I think Anet listened “pro/elite” players that are the minority of this game. The ones that bring green to anets investors are casual players, hopefully u wont forget that.

Yes Wvw seems to be all about reflections nowdays. (even engi like tankcat) and personally i feel its bs gaming. Still nades are good u cant pop the reflection on all the time. (idk about top servers if they have so many of em to chain it) New update will put sigils on work. Maybe flamer will become usefull?
I join fractals of the mist or what ever its called hater band! Doing dungeons for monthly is ok. 5 of them is not too hard but now monthly has become complete PVE. Totally and utterly screwing pvp/ wvw players. Some people say 45k karma is not much?!? Go to wvw and tell me how fast u get 45k. Ill give u a hint: It will take forever. I like to do some dungeons but this fractal thing for my gaming experience is just lame. I dont like it, I dont play it, I dont want to be forced to play it! All other monthlys could have been done by pvp/wvw or pve players equally. (few paths of AC and 2 others for dungeon and done for pvp player) Please Anet change the monthly! this is far from equal footing of pvp and pve players.
Agreed! Heard there is one person controlling all those accounts?! Perma ban if u ask me. What are Anets possibilities to start taking cheaters of their terms of rules in to court? One good example would do the magic.
Its far from impossible to be prevented. Alliances and pacts are possible mostly becoz of server hopping. Sadly u seem to have 0 idea what this is issue is about..
In addition this second time same match and same thing happening.
WvWs key idea of 3 server is to have 2 weaker to fight stronger if I have understood right and it sounds good in theory. But after few rounds its been obvious that some german servers just play 2 vs 1 from beginning to the end. Just log now to Drakkar – Dzangor -Whitesideridge to soo it urself. Drakkars and Dzangors never fight each other. Even when they face they just run pass.
My suggested solution: make it inpossible to get 2 same nation servers , or just end the 3 server wvw. Share here your opinions and experiences.
Server transfers must be dealt with! Its the issue number 1 of the game along with bots. For example German servers always hop into same server and fight 2 vs 1. In the end they jump into other server and try to set score that they get places 1-2. (Drakkar, Dzangor) This also completely screws fair players of these servers. Sometimes i see 0 Dzangors and sometimes just small group that other germans take out instantly showing their spot. WvW is in ridicilous shape and if no changes till christmas I wont be surprised of rage quitttin wave and jumping to next best MMO.
Server hopping also brings bots! First i thought other servers are cheating, but infact they are these gold spammers that do it. When you find 16 bots in borderlands it’s the gold bots and also means real players cant enter. Server hopping must come to an end before the game comes to an end!
Game lacks some small things that have huge meaning to gaming experiense. I wish A-net spends some time in christmas holidays playing Lucas arts games. What did Lucas do different? They created worlds that felt real! And what was most important feature? Humor… Yup old gamers might remember Grim fandango and such where the story went on with more humours events. In modern gaming story is : “Whatch me im great knight and i cut of your head etc.. skip to end…” and then fight. Also implenting somethin fun inside game to pop up randomly. Some goofy NPC’s that takes party to secret chamber or something. Modern games are too serious which kind of kills of their game mechanics. Add some spices to gw!
+ ofcourse the nightime wvw botters would be nice to be able to report.
server hopping should cost 500 gems. Then pvers wouldnt have problem. They could gather money for that. WvW is really the thing that can keep GW2 on top. The anti-social pve “huhuu is anyone there” wont! If WvW should get changes and fast! Alot are leaving it for being so dumm made.
