Ascended items for statistic discharger engi

Yes daily laurells start to stack in. I have +50 total now and soon enough for all ascended. So now i should decide which way to go.

My playstyle : Rifle engineer relying on pretty high damage pretty high crit with soldiers stats in armor (power toughness vitality) trinkets are berserkers all around so in total i have 20k hp 1241 toughness 40% crit , 3124 attack. I have toolkit now ofcourse for SD and the super buff for prypar. For prypars sake i would like to have a look into my toughness.

Ascedended:

Choise of rings:

Vine of the pale tree: 103 power, 50 prec, 8% crit and 18 vitality
Ring of the dead: 103 power 68 prec 8% crit
Solaria circle of the sun: all stat 43, +6% crit +4% magic find
Ruriks royal singet: 68 power 103 tough (!) , 8% crit

Choises of amulets

backpack:
Quiver of Swift Flight : 56 power prec 35 crit 5%
sights be true : 35 power 56 tougness 5% crit

“earrings”:
Ancient mursaat token: +38 all +5 crit +4%magic find
Ancient karka shell infused Execuisitive ruby jewel : +50 power + 40 prec +25 other stats +6 crit %
totem of gorilla: 60 power, 60 prec, 90 toughness NO CRIT %

Appleseller’s lucky cog: 60 power 91 toughness 7% crit

Durmands pen: 91 power 60 tough 60 vita

Choises are so many. I think i rule out those all stat givers.. My build deals condi damage but so little vs more power do to rifle 1 + sd.

In WvW FT1 great decent damage to mass of ppl. should have more burning becuase of misses. Fixed FT2 thank you gods of tyria! I nuke 2-5k aoe blasts siding with statistic discharge. FT3 good knockback learn to use it. FT4 needs complete fix. FT5 needs boost. AOE blind is cool but really meeh skill 5. FT1 is not supposed to do rifles auto. for example fightin in group over sup camp i strafe alot spamming FT1 + 2 aoe damage and when get too close 3. Very good support for team and deffinately worth the slot.

The current thief damage + stelth + culling is seriously one mix of one of the most overpowered classes of gaming. Only few games have had this OP class. (talking in wvw context) Stealth should be nerfed and something done to thief, but not too much because their basically one trick wonders.

Been amazing fight so far. RoF is too much for WSR but we hanging on 2nd spot. WSR seems slowly get some new players (i mean new to gw2). So alot to practise still.. Anyone else having problems to connect to servers? ROF blockin connections :P ?

When i saw gw2 hype videos in summer engis turrets and flamerthrower were the reason i picked engi. I really whish they start to take turret fix seriously and this patch seems to have fix into them. (long work still ahead) Turrets must stay!

Really dont like the idea how ascended is achieved. They are absolute opposite of what game was supposed to be. As WvW player we get 36 bronze for protecting something while everythin on tp goes up and up becoz money gained in dungoen vs wvw is 1 000 % bigger. This game has alot grinding in it. Daily quest is grinding and starts to feel very boring. Exotics one could achieve in pve / wvw quite easy (not too easy) just by playing the game. Ascended on the other hand…

Kit refiment became useless now. Another useless trait. 10 sec cooldown way too long for have any use with any kit. Pretty idiotic. Apart from that…

You can magnet ele’s using ride the lighting.
Start casting when you feel they are about to bolt and just switched to lighting.

thanx thousands! i really love magnet. Usually run infront of zerg pull somenoen in and get back and let melee take prey and start SD all other. Magnet fix really helped engineers.

If got trough achievements, then what about achievements you allready have done? Many players have done a lot of achievements and has hard to obtain high tiers left. Not to even mention WvW that achievements will take 10 years in minimum to reach.

OP should update the post! It seems engi get cookies and that post just shows we got nothing. Stats to kits is HUGE improvement to us! Infact its smart to test out the pimped kit damage and then in next patch work on fixes.

Do you really think it’s reasonable to force players to sacrifice more of their life trying to find and revive 10 people?

Are you trying to force people into WvWvW? You realize it’s not for everyone, I personally dislike pvp in this game. Isn’t there a “PVP daily” you can add this garbage to? The 50 kills for the monthly is bad enough.

Well if you play hour – 2hour a day you wont be ressing 10 in wvw either. This is completely kitten and we going to see alot mass suicides so people can do daily. I mean what an earth is behind this?

In wvw barrage is good dmg. poison, chill, blindness, traited bleed, vulna great in zergs. They just completely suck at where they used to rock. Controlling towers wall. raw damage is ticklish. Im pure GC and nade engi was spamming nades on me and i could heal myself /remove condi faster than nades did any sufficient damage. In most important part their just waste.

About aoe nerf i dont think anet nerf engis aoe’s. We are aoe proff without singletarget skills/spells and without melee weapon.

Engi can do stuff in WvW no doubt. We just are weakest profession groupwise in this game. (thought we were made out of versality) We dont give anything to the group. Not buffs or aid in battle. Eles aoes are must, mesmers ports are must, warriors buffs are great, thief stealth dps is must etc.. None of our skills/traits are usefull groupwise. Therefore im pure crit power prec zapper staying behind scenes. and only come in when somene is trying to finish off my ally and use rifles overcahrge shot to intervein. Thats about it.

I just wish they make obtaining legendary weapon as an achievement of several tasks. (Kill of dragons, world bosses, story, wvw “master”, “pvp killer” and some new content instead of this grind fest. Grind 250 ecto grind 250 all t6 grind grind grind. I gave up on grinding. Game has much more in it than stupid item grinding. Hopefully in future players that just play instead gold grind are allowed to obtain leggies too.

“grenade kit rocks even after update” i have seen 0 nade engis after patch in WvW. Pre patch it was played by many. Cold fact is our zerg zapper build deliver about same damage as warrior/guardian tank builds. (well they do more than us) Berserker is fun in groups but even finishing someone off is really hard. (zapper cant afford tiny dunk in build) I mostly put enemies to downed state and wish someone else finish them off. IF i get downed i just go afk. those 4 skills do nothin.

Engi is just troll in wvw. If there were damage cap not allowing 15k hits then things would be alot different. Zerg wars 2 doesn’t suite versatile gameplay. Just DPS.

Rifle 1 is why i stay on engi. Berserker specced 25 bloodlust auto attack is good. Net shot is good as well just need to aim it well and wait player to do his dodge. skill 3 is decent closecombat skill. good dmg but i would get more into it.

Problems are same that they were from start. Overcharge shot knock you and jump shots jump animation gets weird sometimes or you get pawned while jumping. Little adjusting and rifle would rock my socks. Im rifle engi anyways. 1skill + discharges is no brain gaming with good results.

As being mentioned WVW is more number game. With my prenerf nade kit + ele we could stop ppl from resssing their dead and push them out. Well nades are gone and if eles aoe out too the game is going to hit some serious problems. 5 man team ress one person so fast.

Im just afraid about discussion on AOE nerf. Do we even have single target skills? (rifle yeh good as good can be, pistol dont count singletarget) Most kits are aoe, toolbar is more aoe when prypar hits everything around you. Well, I dont think they touch those or we going to be very intresting class with rifle and turrets that do nothing.

Yeh stability on flamer was awesome. Was this the start of “god takes and gives nothin back” line we are gettin every patch. Missthrowing was reasoned with the stability it gave. But now if you compare to greatsword miskittenrower is one of the most pathetic skills out there. Damage is pretty low and the missing. Missing is so horible that there seem to be no logic. I love when my friend throws in bolas and im ready to spray just standing next to enemy and getting miss miss miss. All i could do was imagine that stunned guy laughing his kitten off. Flamethrower was engineers numb. 1 kit and I think so it should be. Still has good purposes in WvW behind gate but thats about it. Other than that you just going to miss ur critical moment.

This is what I mean about imbalance.

Engi is in serious trouble and after watching this video I can shoot down people who claim dps is’nt everything. All games are about dps/burst or connection between tankiness & dps. Engi can have tankiness (tank cat) or burst (zapper) but they both lack so much. I rally as zerg zapper and get badges and kills alot, but for real… If i face skilled players that sees through me my changes are around 10%. (If statistic discharge crit alot)

Surprisingly swordman power has gone overboard and now they discussing nerfing AOE damage. I smell big nerfs on the way! Whats left for engineer then? turret?

If this thread is a joke then let me join. For example engineer is good example of OP AOE it should be nerfed hard. Comon, you can flame all players with your flamethrower. Not to even mentioned statistic discharge hitting multiple targets. It should be removed. Also this class can throw mines! AOE! Have you ever concidered what happens when players walk into them. nerf em! Then this class can throw wrench that pierces enemies returning back to owner like boomerang! Hows that possible! Nerf it and make it knock someone. Grenades you already delt with nothing to add there. Elixir gun can also hit aoe whats ur insight of this? Bomb kit engineer can AOE alll time! ALL THE TIME! I mean how can you carry so many bombs. Engi should run to some armory room for more bombs after 10 second usage to balance AOE damage. Last but not least rifle can pierce making strong AOE damage when specced full power gear. Concider taking away engineers rifle he do fine with turret.

Too bad 1v1 doesnt mean a thing in WvW. You can scream and roll in happiness of beating someone but in reality all that matter is what u give to the 39 others of 40 men zerg. tanky engi gets so badly out dps by enemy that its useless many times. whats the point of staying alive when battle is lost? Personally i find zapper engi most usefull now. The aoe attack is so good. Also i add in attackin golem and roll with rifle: jumpshot+blunder to enter net shot to seal enemy and overcharge when ally is downed and someone is trying to finish him off. Then next to downed and if get growded prypar and shield and if lucky ppl start killin themselves and pull off and u can save the downed. After that cooldown of F-bar done and zapp zapp.. Get alot drops too when touch all enemy :P

Start off with berserker, ignore the tank builds if ur beginner, low lvl , ungeared! First traits into tools 10. Why? Speedy kits. makes u run faster. You soon notice its ur most needed trait.

Im standing for open world raids too. If added, those who dont want have 0 thing to loose. You still can get everything without them. This is the major difference to other games where raid system is all or nothing, where all is for op chars like American Express and Visa Master. In GW2 all are power-wise equal. Getting wiped? Practise harder! Do team work! Plan your teams builds to SYNC!

Ye why remove toolkit? Just add something new. Prypar + shield saves my classganon over and over again. But yeh we have no range after nades out and medium armor. Warrior riffleman is bit obvious though. If u pay any attention to battlefield u can see killshot and dodge it. On the otherhand they roll heavy armor with great auto and dps skill. Engi really needs more weapons or buffs to pistol/rifle.

So I’m running a pure Glass Cannon Build right now. All Power, Crit Dmg, and Precision.

I’m very tempted to switch to a TankCat build, or some kind of variation of it. Or even experiment.

But since it seems like we’re going to have an update soon…(anybody have the word on when a huge update is coming?) I’m a bit wary about wasting my money and time on building a build when ArenaNet is probably going to nerf it. What do you guys think?

I tested alot stuff and zergy zerg seems to be only really affective build in WvW mass battles. (playing this since beta) I’ll wait too patch and what comes with it and plan some kind of tank cat version. fulll power & prec u get alot badges in higer rank servers

TP is ok system. Player to player trades would be a disaster for ANET. “I GOT SCAMMED!” “Scammers!” I bet you all have heard these many times. Mailin system could be different. U need to blindly trust for example the crafter u send ur items. Glad in my guild all crafters are mature and such problems dont exisct.

1: you can already play with anyone on any given server for dungeons/Fractals
2: More specific information would be better, other then “merge servers thanks” which servers do u feel are even low on population? At which hours of the day? Which locations? Just because you dont see a lot of players in the newbie zone doesnt = dead servers

I dont know is this right thread but Whiteside bridge, Vabbi and Fissure of Woe (YES 3 of em!!!) should be merged to one. Vabbi and woe has around 10% of WvW players of Whitseside that has alot less ppl now than rof for example. WvW is dead in end line servers. Vabbi n Woe has some small good groups and if they were to merged to wsr zergs the server could challenge higher ranks much better.

Gw2 has good base to build on. I would personally add open world bosses pvp where guilds fights over the loot (some tier 6 mats, or tokens that could make the exo for legendary) This would bring alot communication and guilds would actually get meaning. There should be several world bosses (minor, major, superior) so that big growd guilds would go after the big fish and starting guilds for the smaller ones. Ofcourse, winner takes it all!

Players have been warned so many times that “i dint know” dont work anymore! Finding an exploit and using it leads to ban in GW2. There seems to be no way to go around and I really like this policy. All other games i have played the devs usually give up and these habbits are left alive. Anet has dealt with this issue. Either u take action or u dont.

rampager engi defense himself how? I did this build for first months. When burst is done so is engi. Many ppl learned to deal with it. (Rifle ofcourse holds some hopucs pocus) Fun to get badges but wont change outcome of battle like stellar knight grenadier used to be. Defensive alchemy traited nadier was very versatile. The damage on nade 1 was ok but still you could take it on tough ground when enemy came on to u. Maybe classgannon bursters work with top server zergings better than where i play.

- i have zergy set and soldier stat set and zerg accessory with zerg orbs. I assume i go soldier statted armor set and zerg accessory? (+20k hp still, nice crit, ) I need to play around with runes still.
- What about pain inverter to replace rifleturret/ram (asura skill F bar attack and basic skill give retaliation and confuse —> will it stack with prypar confusion or just not needed here?
- Also asura elite attack golem prolly helps this alot. (u just have to see the dps it gives few seconds)

Thanx for the info of how to ride the pony. Many times see builds but not the fundamental idea. Also extra points from staying away from might stacking. How u been in WvW? As good as tankcat?

Yup only decent elite is supply drop and if play asura attack golem with med kit boost. (i can hear another nerf inc. ) Golem do double dps compared to engi (sad, ridiculous but true) Too bad it inst insta cast. For me its been the last ace in sleeve when ppl ignore it. (especually guardians and then boom boom.) Golem is what engi kits should be.

I tested nades with about all sigil combos. None gave me any good result. Grenade kit is done for. And there comes the ultimate question: Is there any more viable builds on wvw for engineer where we get some special role like nades gave us? Something that other profs cant do zillion times better. I tested alot and got no results. Tankcat seems funny but in opinion damage outoput is too low for me. (Or can tankcat be adjusted a lil to more damagewise? ) Thanx in forehand for builds

I spend 4,3g to sigil of fire. its on my shield. sigil of air on pistol. neither of these trigger on grenade kit. Anyone else have experiense of these sigils?

It is in dungeons.

No one cares how you kill mobs during leveling.
But when you join a party for dungeon run, you’re expected to have max perfomance so you won’t waste people’s time by spending several minutes to kill just one mob.

Dungeons are all about boss fights. Most mobs are skippable. And in boss fight only raw DPS matters.

I don’t understand why people can’t see it.

So don’t bring an Engin to dungeons. Same thing. It’s not like you only have one character and the only thing you ever do in this game is run dungeons. If yes, then that’s your problem.

Good trolling. Might as well delete engineer from profession list.
