Would you be keen on joining the Raiders of the Mist? RAID is based in the tarnished coast (since you didnt specify a server I’m assuming you’re ok to move around). We do mainly dungeon running and WvW but we’re mostly pretty relaxed and do whatever people feel like doing. We are currently trying to get new members and become a bigger presence on the tarnished coast. Check out our website, and if you are interested message me in game or on the forums. Thanks
Hi there,
Would you be interested in joining Raiders of the Mist? [RAID]. We are also a tarnished coast based guild, currently with 27 members. We are active in dungeon running and WvW. Most of us are college students so in our early 20’s. Feel free to check out our website:

We are looking to rapidly expand and make a name for ourselves on the Tarnished Coast. If you are keen to be a part of it just message me on the forum or in game and I will get back to you. Thanks
I am curious,
How did you get a lvl 4 to orr? Wouldnt any mob between lions arch and orr one hit kill you if you get too close?
Hi there we are on the tarnished coast as well. The guild name is RAID and I made a recruiting thread which should be just below this one. Have a read and let me know if we suit you
Hi,
Me and the other founders of our guild are also college students but in Australia. The guild name is Raiders of the Mist [RAID] and we are on the tarnished coast server doing a bit of everything from World vs world to just regular PvE. With only 25 members (8 or so that actively represent) we are a bit slow to get guild upgrades but there is a sense of achievement every time we get enough resources to do so. None of us are “experts” in this game so if you’d like to join and adventure with us send me a message and ill get back to you
Raiders of the Mist [RAID] Tarnished Coast Oceanic Based Guild Recruiting
in Guilds
Posted by: imbalancedhero.3968
The title says it all,
We are an oceanic based guild (most of us are either in australia or malaysia at the moment) and we are usually all online during the offpeak hours. Our focus is mainly on dungeon raiding and world vs world but we do a bit of everything really.
We welcome anybody, whether you are an experienced player looking to join us in world vs world (and seriously our server DOES need help on the offpeak hours) or a beginner looking for tips on how to play the game.
We do not require you to represent us at all times so feel free to message me for an invite. The most important thing is to have fun
Member size: 25 and (hopefully) growing
Facilities: armourer, weaponsmith, banners, workshop, vault coming up soon
Founder(s): Audi Prabian, imbalancedhero, and denniserius
Cheers All
I understand both sides of the argument here,
First of all I agree that getting a precursor out of “luck” is a bit stupid. To be honest if somebody I knew in real life that plays this game a lot less than me just “happened” to get lucky in the mystic forge and get a 300 gold item I’d probably quit playing this game on the spot. Note: “probably” :p
However, I also think that it would be a bad idea to make precursors a set recipe. No matter how hard, people WILL put in the effort and in a matter of weeks loads of people will be running around in legendaries.
I’d much rather prefer if arenanet had complete control of how many legendary weapons circulate on each server (an example would be by maybe giving legendary precursorsors only to winners of certain competitions). This would highlight a sense of achievement rather than mindless grinding or getting lucky. Also, this would allow arenanet to release more legendary precursors as they see fit. E.g.: if the guy is selling a weapon for 300 gold and nobody can afford it then its time for Anet to make new competition and hand out more.
The long term effect of this would be people with legendary precursors too scared to set their weapon at ridiculous prices because then more would enter the server hence reducing its overall value.
Firstly I apologize if I annoy some people with what I’m about to say (but I am speaking this out of personal experience)
Most of the people who complain about dungeons being hard are those who equip the 120+% of magic find gear (if you are not one of these people, then this post doesnt apply to you. However, I found dungeons extremely hard when I had magic find gear on and when I stopped using them I found them to be much easier)
honestly, theres a reason why all the magic find equipment comes with power and precision. high damage + no hp bonus = boss will go for you. The game mechanic is designed (or so ive heard) for the mobs to go after the players with the least hp and most damage.
I run dungeons with my guardian (specced with sword and shield and a lot of tanky+ supporting skills) and when the boss completely ignores me, walks 3/4 across the area to 2 hit kill some guy in my party only to have him complain about why the boss is attacking him and he keeps dying well... lets just say it gets annoying. I wont lie I do equip some magic find on my character but I limit it to a superior sigil of luck and MF foods to avoid being a liability to my team
Dungeons are not meant to be easy the first time (especially if you dont have an experienced dungeon runner) but they will get easier as you do them over and over again. I remember when I first runned AC story with my buddies it took about 4 hours to the point of having to send each other money for repairs because some of us were running out. Nowadays when we do the dungeon again (usually to help out a new guildie) we joke around a lot and it doesnt seem hard at all. We’re at the point that when someone goes down we will emote the /laugh @ at them before rezzing at the last second.
My point is that even a dungeon that is hard for you has probably been done by somebody way more experienced who considers it way too easy. The whole idea of a dungeon is to “challenge yourself” anyway and if you can cruise through them on the first try then it would just be a mindless grindfest for chests and tokens.
Here on the tarnished coast i have never seen people doing this in any of my groups. There have been cases where I am grouped with relatively new players who dont understand some of the fight mechanics and just rush in and aggro anything. Usually I just let them die (if i think i will probably die trying to res them) and tell them to go back to the waypoint and run back. Usually after someone dies once or twice from doing stupid things they start to take things a bit slower and listen lol.
3 guardians + 2 rangers = all 3 hotw paths with prob 3 downs in total (as a team) XD
No but seriously, I dont think that the classes matter TOO much (as long as you have 1 or 2 people that can take damage and not 5 people running full magic find gears). What is more important is dungeon experience (not charging recklessly into the next mob, knowing which mob is more dangerous) as well as group coordination (which target to focus first) and understanding the boss mechanics (avoid the red circle? :P)
This is why we usually focus the weakest targets when attacking dungeon mobs, allowing group members that are downed to rally as we kill off each one.
Get ready for Over floooooowww!! XD
could it have something to do with the bonus experience from achievements? As in you would get it for your first character making it level up faster but not your second? Not sure about this though
The dude that drops 5 silver also exists in the first path of AC. Are you sure there are 2 on the second path? I only seem to have found one haha might have to hunt down the other one if you can point it out to me.
salvaaaageeee :P
I found that salvaging lvl 80 armor has a chance of giving orichalcum even with the basic salvage kits (although small)
I currently salvage all the white armor and weapons i find and occasional get lvl 400 mats but i found it higher for blues and significantly higher (though i didnt do this much and cant confirm) for greens
If I shoved the cheapest crafted rare i could make into the mystic forge

Would I ever get anything meaningful? I mean i saw a guy on youtube put in 28 or so crafted exotic greatswords and got multiple different items (though i couldnt really see what they were)
I’m sure people has done this before but I wanted to confirm if there was a chance that I could get an exotic from doing this or if the game mechanic is set to only give me rares in return.
Also as a side question has anyone gotten ectoplasms from salvaging their crafted rares? Not sure if possible.
Well I’m assuming you are referring to the nightmare tree with spiders, since the other nightmare tree is pretty easy all you need to do is kite the adds.
Now about fighting the one with spiders, me and my guildies found a relatively easy way to do it (after getting pwned the first 6 or so times):
step 1. Run at the boss, spawning all the spider adds
step 2. Run out of the boss area, all the way out. The boss resets and all the adds turn back, they will surround the boss.
step 3. Attack the boss at max range from the area entrance, spread out to avoid 1 hit ko’s. If you do it right (and I have managed to do it this way 3 times so far), you can hit the boss without aggroing any of the spiders at all.
I do hope this helps and if anyone else can confirm that this works for them that would be great.
