i think you see wrong.
i dont give a kitten about loot
it is possible to use a clock in certain calculations.
when your clock is way off( and i mean way off like on 2000) certain certificates
wil not function either (gmail for instance wont work sometimes , certificate based wifi wont function, stuff like that)
but i never heard that a few seconds of even minutes will matter
But then again, no one (or maybe im wrong ) reverse engenered gw2 to check what calcs they do and how they do it
(edited by innocens.1582)
personaly i would like to burry him at least 10 meters deep, but he’ll probably grow a new traeharne
i dont know
i dont mind a monthly fee, but not everyone can afford that.
i think one of the big pro gw2 and gw1 things is its free to play.
A cool game and free to play, what more do you want
I agree its hard to dodge some baddies if you dont know their mechanics.
Just keep at it, and try to dodge their big skill.
fumble around a bit with your timing,
like dodge a bit later when their animation is almost done..
Your not the only one with this problem. i got it to
In the end i mostly get it if i keep trying.
mmo gaming is is for everyone.
lots of different people in mmo’s, you just need to find them.
Im not saying thats easy, but they are there.
i dont agree that you should see a mmo as a parallel to real life.
I got a 8 hour daytime job, and then some, and im not looking for that in a mmo.
Do as you please in this game, no one has the right to tell you what you should and
should not do. But i disagree that we all should become pro’s like we are in real life( or maybe not lol)
Just find the right guild or the right friends and your set to go with what ever you want.
i doubt its doable in a month, but then again im not one of the fastest players on earth so maybe your right 8-)
Got 30 points to and then didnt want to grind any further.
I enjoyed doing things like legendary guardian and legendary vanguisher.
would be a shame if this would be given for free to non gw1 players.
did it not to long ago on gunnars hold.
was like wow (no pun intended) he’s dead lol.
*
I even got to know some stuff about his personal life and his family situation, and there were a lot of problems.
He was old, and he was just trying to have fun playing WoW, because he was stressed from the real world out there.
*
I think this is why a lot of people play games, to get some escape from the real world.
To relax and play a game.
Elitism i think is not as wide spread as some think.
Most just play to have fun with others.
In gw1 i was in a guild where no one cared what your build was, or how much so called dps you did. We played together to get rid of our real world sorrows for a moment.
Our guild leader had this quirk that she allways wanted to die first lol.
No problem, it was allways a good laugh.
This guild was not for everyone, and some even thought we were crazy probably
but it was good times.
Some of these people are still my inet friends , and probably will be until i am dead and burried 8-).
You just need to find the right people to play with.
i dont mind if there is a gear check or not. i dont give a kitten 8-)
the problem with gw2 is that they didnt took the gw1 gear filosofie with.
stats on gear other then armor makes people asking for the best.
and concerning gw2 becomming like other mmo’s,
its allready was like other mmo’s when it got on the market.
i only played gw1 and aoc as other mmo’s but in the dungeons in these games there
were no garanteed drops either. Even in gw1 the boss drop wasnt garanteed.
In aoc it was a big group of 24 people who did the raid aka dungeon, and when you pugged people even took things they couldnt use just to sell it for a few copper lol(most stuff was bound on pickup).
guild runs were led by a raid leader who had the control, and if there was a drop, it was
given to one of the professions who could use it with a random vote generator.
If only one person could use it, or the rest allready had the drop, it was given to him/her .
So in these mmo’s it took multiple runs to to get something.
Most people in the guild didnt go for the drops, but for the fun of doing it together.
still remember gw1 runs with the guild as being lots of fun, and nobody moaned about drops.
The aoc runs were the same. open to everyone, with a few experienced players, and the raid leader explaining everything. realy fun to do.
gw2 is more or less the same. if people take the time to explain stuff to newbies and not blindly go for profit, it can be so much more fun.
just my 2 cents
gw2 is different concerning gear(armor weapons and stuff)
i love the max is max filosofie from gw1 . max armor is max armor, max damage is max damage.
in gw2 we have white, blue, green, yellow, orange and whatnot.
personaly i think its a step back.
But it does not make me grind for the best.
I do with what i get, and thats fine with me to.
After some playing i got orange armor, but still a green weapon.
Works fine. When something better drops, i use it everything else get merched
concerning dailies, sometimes i get them sometimes not.
I did do them until i got enough karma to get my orange gear,
now i dont realy care.
I just play the game and 50% of the time the chest pops up anyway
i played aoc in the past, and i never worried about gear there either..
i used what dropped for me, and what i could afford to buy with just
playing the game.
worked great
the good old times 8-)
gw1 was a different game, but some of these missions were deffenetly chalenging.
Took me some time to figure out Eternal Grove hm.
I only did the cof dungeon once in gw2 and i found it pretty chalenging to.
changed guild to play together more with people.
and it worked 8-)
but i agree, if you want you can solo most standard pve content.
core i7 975 running at 4 ghz,
6 gig of memory
ocz revo x2
gforce 590 vid
this should be more then enough to run gw2.
no need for 32 gig of memory. when i check task manager, my system only uses around 1 gig for gw2 and has 3 gig free memory.
I dont do wvw and dont notice invisible enemies in pve, but
in la bank and tp i do. Not realy worrying.
i can imagine that this would be a big problem in pvp play.
personaly i think this game was worth the money i paid for it.
so im satisfied 8-)
people are not satisfied , because they aproach games different then me.
i play to have a good time, others maybe play for rewards.
If you play for rewards, you might not be satisfied with what you get.
i have the same.
nothing rare from the chests, just random crap
i agree the armor in gw1 was great. lvl 20 armor was lvl 20 armor, no matter what kind it was.
I dont realy mind the gear as it is in gw2. atm, i have just yellow lvl 80 gear, and im doing fine with it sofar (im in matlchiors leap, hope i spelled that right
).
Saving my karma for when i can get the karma orange one.
grind is what you create your self i think. you dont have to.
This is, fundamentally, a conversation about a couple extra minutes in a dungeon versus a couple extra rare drops, in a game we play with our free time and with our disposable income. All the extra self-righteousness and mathematical hand-waving in the world doesn’t change that.
I don’t let my kids play MMOs— because of people like the ones in this thread.
absolutely true.
what ever happened to all the fun in the world?
(edited by innocens.1582)
lol you realy dont understand ‘playing for fun’
i dont even have mf on my gear
fun is what you make with other people and it has nothing to do with drops or time taken.
@stoff,
dont worry i wont gimp your party
.
i dont pug and only play with people i know.
luckely they all have the same mind set as me, we wanne have fun
i love it that all i read is things about max loot, max damage, do it as fast as possible, and so on. what happend to having fun?
You have fun when playing with the right people, and i dont think it matters much what equipment they got.
Jee, its a game, just a game.
personal opinion:
Only some kids worry about loot, adults mostly just wanne have a good time.
If your a adult and worry about loot and the time it takes to do something , you are realy just a kid to 8-)
this post will probably get deleted for not contributing to the thread lol
i would not mind something raid like in this game.
Its like dungeons atm, you can do them but you dont have to.
I also think gw2 isnt that different from other mmo’s, but thats probably just me 8-).
So why not something raid like to.
I wish I could ride, just a simple horse, would be a bit less painfull walking along this massive world….
i totaly agree.
mounts just to speed up the traveling, and not for combat.
i think the problem is that people play this game for win, and loot, and not for fun.
Like this is a job or something.
I have done dungeons in gw1 lots of times with guild people who could run any build they wanted and who could play any way they wanted, and we had a great time.
It wasnt fast, but it was fun.
i done ac once sofar, and i have never seen such a race to the end ever before in a game.
Nice if its your firsttime, and you die multiple times because everyone is in a hurry to get more more more tokens and doesnt even bother to explain anything.
i probably wont do pug dungeons ever again.
I dont realy care if something drops or not, and if it takes 1 or 2 hours.
I want to relax and have some fun after my real daytime job is done.
i did ac yesterday on lvl 42, and i can tell you it wasnt fun at all.
It was my first dungeon, i told everyone i was new to it.
No one even took time to explain anything, not even my own guildie.
Then the tgv took off at 300km per hour, and the moaning started.
Hmmm baddest experience ever.
you dont have to buy anything to have fun in the game.
not even with in game gold.
go with what you find/get as drops, and you will have loads of fun.
Maybe its just me, but in the guilds i have been in in mmo’s nobody
wanted you to have ‘the best gear’ when you wanted to come along on a dungeon trip.
It was all about having a good time.
ps:personaly i think its pretty dumb to spend real time cash to buy things in a game.
i would like to be able to swap weapons in combat without a cooldown.
anyone else thinks this is a good idea?
@walle,
i had the same feeling at first, so i hardly played gw2.
But i started playing gw2 again a few days a go, trying to just play it as a new game.
And i must say, i’m starting to like it. Its not gw one, but it can still be fun
.
I like that you can just join up with reandom people in events taking place,
that you dont kill steal but share, and what i realy liked was that i could read some books in a shop or something in divinty, and get lore info.
I love games like dragon age for these things, and i see these things a little in gw2 as wel. Im still a newb but when i see combo fields, and finishers im thinking cool what could we do with that?
Little things i didnt see at first because i was all gw1 minded.
Just play and go with the flow. it will surprise you maybe.
when i first started to play this game i wanted stuff from gw back to.
Now that i am getting to grips with the differences, i must say i like
it the way it is.
I think heroes and henchies in the open world wouldnt work,
But for dungeons they might.
Havent done any dungeons yet since im only a lowly lvl 20.
Concerning people who rage quit, they take this game to serious
.
Try to find a group of nice people to play with.
I’m in a guild with former gw1 friends, and we all play for fun.
concerning being able to get armor/weapons i dont realy worry about that.
Its not like you need special stuff to play. Im doing fine with what i found so far.
i found it rather funny the first time i saw those toy centaurs.
killed by toys, how heroic 8-)
In the guild i am in everyone is from gw1.
Some people like gw2 and some dont, but try to like it.
The only reason i still play a bit now and then is because they are old friends i have known for a long time.
The complain i hear a lot is that pve in gw2 is a massive single player online game, and
i have to agree with that.
When people start typing caps and start insulting i stop reading.
As far as I know, noone is constantly on the forums for any other MMO released in the past year complaining about how they miss GW1 and that game should be like GW1.
Thats absolutely true.
But when i buy age of conan, i dont expect guildwars.
When i buy guildwars 2 i do expect a bit of gw1
agree with the op.
but gw2 aint gw1 is the answer that you get when you say something like that here .
i played gw1 until my pc started to smoke. i only got a char to lvl 12 in gw2 so far lol
The first time i played it after launch i felt totaly alienated in gw2.
Now and then i play a bit, but i mostly stop after an hour or so.
is it bad i even like baldurs gate 1 ee better?
Playing that a lot atm.
ps: @ asb “GW2 is a big boy’s game” this made me laught so hard, it made my day
most people play games for fun
(edited by innocens.1582)
i feel treated like a toddler lol.
Like they need to protect us from bad language .
hope nothing gets kittened in this post 8-)
playing some good old dragon age origins atm.
Waiting for baldurs gate enhanced edition to arive in about a week.
I cant wait to play this mother of all fantasy rpg’s again.
i only login to gw2 to chat with some old gw1 friends, but i dont play anymore.
I think something like a taunt skill to be able to rotate agro would be a exelent idea.
as far as i know gw does not have gm’s. gw1 did not, and i think gw2 doesnt either.
how’s life in gw2 Naks?
(me miss smith)
you can delete the stuff to if you want by the way
i dont see the ‘industry changer’ thing either.
they made so called world persistent dynamic events wich are not persistent at all
and repeat every x minuts
they dont have quests anymore, but hearts which are, oh wait quests
and i feel so useless in this world. what the kitten am i doing here and why?
only god knows
not interested anymore.
gw2 failes to grab me like for instance gw1 or aoc do.
I just dont get a click with this game.
moving on
i tried 1 and i must say it works great.
Think i wil keep it at 1 for the comming months 8-)
Probably going to play baldurs gate ee when i comes out in a month.
