My issue with those on SBI who only show up when we are winning is they tend to ride the coattails of us more hardened wvwvw players. For a good month we struggled to get more then 10-15 people on one map or even get a breakout event started. People would come into a map and see the score, QQ in map/team chat and then leave. It got to the point where many of us that continued to fight no matter numbers or score, began to post in map chat for people to GTFO or transfer if couldn’t handle our descent into lower tiers.

Now we can have 20+ zergs on all maps during NA prime time. Its annoying as all kitten hell. I don’t want to slam you that bail out so easily when the fights don’t go our way, and I understand that this a game and should be a source of enjoyment, but we are one hell of a fare weather server.

It is frustrating. I mean where were these people. I don’t talk much in wvw but I am in there almost everyday.. even if just for a bit. I see names that never talk, but I have seen them by me and know they have been here for the long haul… Now there are commanders that I have never even seen there name in here before. It is welcome we needed commanders but I am not sure where the hell they came from . I could understand if it had been a player that did not have the gold and just got it but I do not recall ever seeing some of these names.

Again it is fine I welcome everyone to fight with us, just do not leave us again when it is a tough fight PLEASE.

I don’t know, I feel like even if SBI has better coverage, when everyone is fielding their primes, the fighting is great. We didn’t have this in T4, but here it’s a whole different story. I feel as though we’re sort of an inbetween server, and that’s slightly unfortunate. We’re able to take on T5 and do exceedingly well, but T4 is too much for us. There’s no middle ground where we can fit comfortably and have good, even match-ups at all times of the day.

That said, DR and IoJ are still showing up and doling out good times. Last night in EB when IoJ pushed out Veloka / OW was great! I also thoroughly enjoyed DR’s attack on SBI BL’s Bay. We only narrowly made it with reinforcements in time, and only barely held you back in spite of that! Those instances were awesome and memorable, and I look forward to and know there will be more. Even though our coverage puts you guys a little bit down and out, I’m happy that you’re still coming to fight and not making it easy. That says a lot about your servers!

Honestly I think we would have done fine in tier 4 against yb and cd if all these people showed up! We may have lost.. but it would not have been as bad as it was.

Seriously there have been people on every map this week.. every map! That was nonexistent in T4. Everyone was just pouting how we would just drop to T8 and be the worst server. Well there were those of us that kept fighting against the odds.. and low and behold we get some points and are winning and out of nowhere we have a queue on EB and people actually playing on all the borderlands.

I understand there are fair weather players but this is ridiculous. We should have had all these people in T4 instead of them crying about how we lost like 3 guilds.

Don’t get me wrong I really like all the people but I sincerely hope that all these players continue when we get outmanned or a harder match or (gasp) are in last place score wise because if we go back and forth from ghost town to steamroll it is going to suck.

Just an example of the difference.. In the YB CD fight I went to EB no one there. I decide to kill the veteran guards for the dailies and take some supply camps. I run into 1 other player and talk them into running back and forth with me to take a tower.. We take it- Then 1 other person shows up we take 2 more towers with 3 people lol. This was the EB population during that match up lol. It is by far much larger now- Not a bad thing I just want them to stay when it is harder!

I don’t care about the scoreboard— It would just be nice if the practically the whole map was not 1 color Personally I love to see EB in almost even 3rds It means you can find a fight.. when it is all your color it is quite dull.. In fact I had more fun when we were losing sometimes because there was stuff for me to try and take! (not all the time though lol being out matched significantly still sucks :P)

I have been playing around with the torch since they changed prestige.. I love being able to stealth but the mage is odd. I was playing with the dummies in the mists and I can get it to hit 2 and then me. I cannot get to the 3rd because it seems to far but I wonder if things are closer that maybe it will bounce more?

I can take camps with a glamor build. I use the staff and GS. The key I find is to make sure you use your clones. Keep the enemies stacked and move around. It may just not be your play style though. I keep going back to it because I love it and the other builds I find are just not as fun.

Just logged on and the map is sad. I really wish all these SBI people had come out when we were against CD and YB. The maps where ghost towns on our side during that time and if the numbers we have now would have just shown up we would not be against people that are clearly out numbered.. and it almost seems have given up

SBI did not have these numbers on the maps 2-3 weeks ago and no queue… in fact you were hard pressed to find a commander outside of Kiwi and KT and it was usually only on 1 map.

I hope we move up soon so we can play a bit bigger servers.. and I hope that everyone that has shown up lately keeps showing up – even if it is hard fighting- so we do not end up like this again. It is not fun to lose but it is not fun to just roll the other teams either!

You are allowed so you can still be part of guild chat. But yeah not having the perks on every server for the guild seems kinda crappy.

I was under the impression that you earned commendations for helping other guilds, just not the merits.

why would you get rewards for your guild when helping a different guild? That makes no sense at all.

Well commendations are personal currency- merits are for the guild. I am pretty sure it was understood that merits would only be earned by the guild that started the event.

Also even if you are in a large guild and cannot make it to the event when the guild starts it you have no other ways of getting the currency you lost out on. This is not just a small guild issue.

Small guilds will not have enough people show for their events to complete them because of lack of reward.

Commendations should be earned by everyone that participates in the event. It should not be treated as a normal DE for participation. If they want to rally people to help the rewards need to be there.

I can get a confusion stack to hit maybe over 1k on a person if they have no idea what they are doing usually it is only for 1-300. Bleeds and burning do that as well you know if you don’t do something about it.

Well, I can safely say I’ll never help a random guild earn their rewards if I’m not also sharing of them. If that’s the attitude ANet wants to foster, then this implementation makes sense.

That will be the attitude seen through out I am afraid.. Why should I rush over to an event and just get what I would from a normal DE? No one will. This really really needs to be addressed

Apparently this is the case. Just learned about it today and it is so upsetting. Why do we not get commendations to spend on the new items for helping? How are you suppose to attract people to help you complete the missions without appropriate rewards for those not in the guild?

Large and small guilds are effected by this. Small because they cannot rally people to help and the large because if you cannot make the times set for the event to go off you get no commendations. So essentially you could be in a huge guild that runs the events regularly but never see a commendation because of your schedule. Small guilds may be left to fail the missions because no one wants to help. This needs to be looked at.

Apparently you do not get commendations. I really hope this is looked at and you can get them from helping out other guilds in their missions.

I am at a loss at how I could ever get these I am in a small guild and thought maybe I would just start our missions and get people to help so we could complete them, but the rewards for participating in the guild missions may not be enough to pull people there so it would essentially be a waste of influence.

I could join a large guild I suppose but what if they run the guild events at times I cannot join? I still get no commendations to spend on these items

I would just like to ask that this currency be added for helping guilds complete their missions as part of the reward even if you are not in the guild that started the event. There are people that will have a very difficult time getting commendations to spend- even in large guilds.

Maybe if they were rewarded for helping other guilds complete their mission it would help out those of us with weird schedules or in small guilds.

You still cannot purchase the new rewards! The new vendor requires commendations from guild missions and gold. You only get commendations from being in the guild that starts the event. I was under the impression if you helped the guild complete the mission you got commendations.

How is a guild that is not large enough to complete guild missions suppose to pull from the world and get others if they do not get rewards for the event to make it worth their time? You as of right now cannot get commendations for the new items unless you are in a large guild.

Even if you are in a large guild if you are not on when the event goes there is no way for you to get the commendations even if another guild launches the event and you participate. So even the people in large guilds should be concerned because if your guild leader has a different schedule for you— you will not get commendations either.

Just read that by participating in the guild missions you do not get the new currency or the rewards that were listed unless you were in the guild and present for the mission. I was starting to be ok with this patch- I figured I could join in other guilds missions when they started and get commendations while I waited for my guild to build up and one my guild can start the mission then people would WANT to help because they would get nice rewards. Now I see that is not the case.

What motivation do people have to come help guilds that do finally get the event kicked off? NONE No commendations or the other rewards for helping the guild out.

No, you have have to be in the guild with a mission active. Sorry for the confusion, I wrote the whole thing from the perspective of someone who is trying to run a mission.

I don’t think the smaller servers are going to like this lol. Some people like less people on the map. Honestly now that we have people playing again I find it more fun that T1. I hope this is never implemented oh the map chat drama I can see it now

If you chose to be in a T1 high pop server you knew there would be queues I do not think it is fair to open up other servers who are perfectly happy because of a queue on the high pop servers and people not liking waiting.

I think the hotjoin is fun, but I have not tried the other type. I don’t play spvp enough to try to get on a serious team or even a casual on for that matter becausae I don’t know when I will play— but I do enjoy it from time to time. I know that there are people against it for whatever reasons, but I really hope that single players can join in the new set ups.

You will be fine. SBI had a horrible 2-3 weeks after everyone left. As we dropped down the maps were ghost towns most of the people gave up. As we moved lower more people are playing and we are actually winning this match up. So you will probably have people stop wvw as you move down but once you get into a better match up they will come back.

I would just stay were you are- don’t follow. What is to stop BG from being deserted in the future?

Grats and I think you mean 2 legendaries. I think people got so negative because your post says 4 and that is a pretty large difference considering what it takes to make one. Really I think it was just a language barrier in the post that made it sound like he got a ton of precursors that got everyone rilled up :p Or maybe I misunderstand and he did make 4 legendaries lol idk

I think though it was just an example and maybe he just picked the wrong profession. I don’t see a huge deal with it.

I think it will come down to the rewards from participating. If they can find a way to let guilds that participate get guild merits as well to spend in their guild then I think it will help ease things over. Maybe if a guild starts it they get 10 merits and the guilds that participate get like 2.. or something like that.

That way small guilds can still build up their influence to run the event started by larger guilds and still get guild currency to spend on the new guild perks.

Also if the rewards are not good enough for these events then the population will not be tempted to help the small guilds or larger guilds.. but if the rewards are there then guilds of all sizes should be able to gather enough people to help them complete the mission.

butter is a nice color for a bright shiny color. Iron is nice a bit high for a blue but looks good. I also really like wrath and brick. All of those are pretty inexpensive. For about 1 g you can buy every master (blue) dye and that is a nice pallet to work with.

I guess Sbi numbers have increased somehow.. a queue tonight on EB- have not seen that in a good bit.

I use it in some dungeons. If they can still use their 4 skill- heal while down- then you can use it and they will get a few seconds of life. They can either kill something or they will go to a downed state again if they do not. If they are all the way dead- then it will not work. I wish it was just a rez but it still helps sometimes.

I went into path 2 today for the first time. I have to say that fight was really hard. We do CoE because my husband wants the meteorologist legendary and needs the tokens. I have about a stack from running CoE with him and every group always runs the sub path. We wondered if we would ever see another path.. well today we did and did not complete the dungeon. We tried to do the dodge correctly -and could keep it up for a bit but never completed this fight.

Sure it is L2P and we need to get the mechanics, but how many groups are willing to die while you learn? Not many. Can you honestly say that you did not die after only 5 attempts? Maybe a few players can but for most- I would be willing to bet -need more than 5 trys on this boss to learn it but by that time your group is gone.

Probably will not attempt this path again because honestly I would rather just go through the sub path and know we will finish.

I believe it is the actual phantasams skills charging faster.. not your ability to spit out phantsams.

Just to elaborate on Flamenco’s answer.. if you delete all your characters you can transfer worlds for free.

Not sure I understand.. sPvP is in the mists and when you go there everything you unlock is only for that area.

Oh and gear outside the mists cannot be worn in spvp only gear bought with glory (the boxes) and visa versa- spvp gear cannot be worn outside the mists

spvp gear is in the boxes that you get from the vendors on the left when you first enter. As you go higher in levels you can get different gear. You can also make it in the mystic forge with tokens from the vendors.. not sure on the recipies and what they make though. You also need special pvp salvage kits if you get repeats of gear from the boxes and that is sold from the vendor as well.

That does suck. I want to say in other games you had to assign a new guild leader before it would let you move down.. not sure why that would not happen here to prevent this

I would give thief a shot. The thief is squishy so you still need awareness and has some really fun stuff.

Necros can be fun. I like mine more in wvw than I do in pve though. It seems to take forever to kill something imo.

Nothing is stopping you from participating. You can simply ask a friend in a larger guild when the events are starting and let your guild members know. All you are not getting is guild merits

78g and 16 days is all that is stopping you from starting them yourself (excluding the influence cost of the event which is unknown). That’s for a “guild” of one person. You can divide that cost amongst your close knit friends in your small guild if you all think it’s worth it. That is also assuming you are starting the guild with 0 influence.

Should smaller guilds earn influence at the same rate as larger guilds?

• Imo, that doesn’t seem to make having a larger guild matter.

Should the influence cost or tier be lower so all guilds can afford do missions?

• That does seem right either…with a tier 3 requirement, all that is required is 8k influence or 8g and a week.
• Depending on the cost to start an event. that could mean events literally all day, everyday, from almost any guild in the game. How would that make your guild stand out at all?

Lastly, how would a guild of 2-4 people expect to tackle this large group content without the help of others around them? Especially for those that take place in multiple locations simultaneously?

I am not saying that we could not get there as a small guild and buy the events But many of the comments in this thread have basically stated that it would be inconsiderate of a small guild to even start an event instead of a larger guild. The blog states that they purposely put the events in the world so that people could help and small guilds could complete them with everyone being rewarded.

My comment is based on what I have read from people here basically shaming smaller guilds for wanting to even attempt to start an event because it would take away from the larger guilds fun… that to me is not right and to see that mentality is upsetting to say the least.

Personally I plan on opening the event and trying to complete it as a small guild with the people around if that is upsetting to large guilds then so be it. I have just as much right to start the event and not sure why people are saying otherwise.

Just adding to say I am disappointed to see you have to have a rank 5 in art of war to start these. My husband and I have a guild on our own which has been fine as we do not mind unlocking things as we go and have unlocked everything we needed.. however, we have no rank 5 anything opened and art of war was never even started because we didn’t really need it as a guild of 2.

They really made it sound like these guild missions would be for guilds of all sizes and interests. Now it seems that if you were not a large guild into wvw heavily you are out of luck.

Does this 33% added to daze do anything? I was under the impression that the game rounded times so a 1 second daze would become 1.33- and still only affect the target for 1 second. Is this correct or do you get the .33 added to the time it just does not show?

As it stands it seems to me that the average stuff you get from a black lion chest is no where near worth the price of keys from the gem store.

The only real incentive is the chance of getting one of the permanent contracts or the endless tonic. However the chance of getting these seems so small that I’m not even tempted to dish out loads of gold for a gamble; I can’t help but feel I will be very disappointed.

At the moment the whole black lion key system is pretty unsatisfying. I know ArenaNet need to sell gems to keep the game running, but do many people actually spend them on keys? Would they not sell more gems if keys were at a reasonable price?

Firstly, about the only thing these are good for is to get more boosters to increase speed of levelling alt’s. I can’t see any practical reason why you’d go out and buy these in any other case.

I used to buy these when I first started, but they’re hardly worth the value that Anet wants to heap on them, causing a rather big disparity between cost and worth. I’ve never even seen one drop in the whole time I’ve been playing (since 3-day headstart), and the likelihood of one dropping anywhere in the game is so remote, and the chance of getting something of any real value is even more remote. It’s like they’re deliberately sharpening the saw before they cut their leg off.

And I’m sorry, but 3,000,000+ accounts x ~$60 per = quite enough to keep both staff paid and servers up and running for a long while to come. Selling gems and other MTA’s through their store is just gravy.

I want to say- and could be wrong- that NCsoft gets most of the box sales profit and not so much for Arenanet. Arenanet gets all the gemstore profits so it is a big deal for them to have things there for people to want to buy.

I have bought them a few times.. but I still have unopened chests because it is not worth the cost to buy them in all reality. Usually it is just left over gems from buying something that I did want lol. At the begining of the game I did buy gems to get keys and it was not a good idea my bank was stuffed with so many potions. I eventually talked my self into just trashing them so I could use my bank :P

Lol I always gave my husband a hard time because he is constantly being attacked.. now I am leveling a necro and I see that they are always after me There is something odd with necros and agro for sure.
