Had a really nice bit of feedback on the video itself go check it out

I think the main reason I didnt use a rifle was because of the condition damage on the pistol main hand and off hand

Burning on offhand of course and poison on the main hand etc!

@ukuni – Id be very interested in seeing those specs, if youd like to go ahead and post a build link here. THis discussion is going really well.

Minions in this build, now if you could do that. Interesting. I did have a power build with Chill and minions a while back!

@Brando thanks for the feedback dude! Thats a shedload of chill! Im not sure if its too much, but in WvW that could be very useful because of the sheer amount of targets in any one given area and trying to give that chill to a zerg passing through

@Bawhb I dont have issues with Vuln stacking get to 16 stacks pretty dam fast

I agree that there are definately variants, what I do also try to do is go against the grain of the ‘meta’.

The constant chill is basically because of all of the condi removal that’s currently present.

Teaming with an ele and using frost bow, getting the Vulnerability stacks up and then spread with epidemic, then using the frost bow 4 ability (mass aoe shards) my god. The numbers and death that ensues is awesome

I like grasp mainly for the focus target and getting someone off a node also. I love the suggestions pls keep them coming. I’m going to try some variations also. But would love you guys to do the same

The build is primarily for spvp as mentioned in the first post. But could possibly be used for wvw. I myself prob use a similar build to what your mentioning atm. If you could post it then I could get an idea of the spec your mentioning.

So Ive actually now changed to a similar build but power based with more heals. Seems nice atm. Also based on turrets exploding and giving me a lot of CC on the point.

ANy thoughts let me know and ill get that spec out soon also

I actually survive really well. I think its the way i play I can cope with me vs 2 quite well sometimes. The stealth and elixer S combo is a nice getaway.

I like the idea of speedy kits, but as I keep building might im popping elixers and seem to get lucky with my swiftness, which I seem to be getting a lot of uptime with. Anyone else getting that?

Absinth could you post your proposed version of hgh? Would be really interested.

Ive just built this CC/Elixer bomb/Utility Engineer spec which people are definately playing with atm.

This is very much a condi bunker, I will also be posting a power build variation of this spec in the next few days

Not sure I would agree with you on that comment as Im seeing a lot of damage from bleeds in this spec at the moment, but I could be wrong. It definately feels as if Im doing more damage than before tbh.

Also instead of Shrapnel, how do you think Exploit weakness would do in replacing that trait?

I would be interested to know any rotations/methods of getting those stacks up higher faster.

So theorycraft can HGH be one of the top Engi specs of the future or not?

HGH build in my opinion wasnt really centralised around a heal/might stacking theory.

Its more around using the elixers to gain might and using the mass damage of the grenades for team fights. I do think HGH is prob more awesome in a team fight, but playing it myself atm its feeling nice in many a situation.

Also because there arent many around atm people dont know what to do when they come up against one

I may shoot some footage but in team fights im on 25 stacks of might building it and boosting it in fights gets easier.

Survivability imho is quite good. The stealth on the Elixer S toolbelt skill for example for stealth ressing and downing, aswell as using the elixer S to down and avoid a lot of damage.

I survive theifs and mesmers pretty well atm as well.

The skill cap for playing this build is high, if you can play it youll play it well and be a pain for your enemies. Swiftness comes from also keeping your might up by using elixers regularly getting random speed from your heal elixer etc.

Still very viable in my opinion

Judging by the amount of response just to this forum thread alone Id say that spvp in gw2 is very much alive

Since there are no rewards, what is the incentive to coordinate a 5 man team vs other people, when you can just play YOLOQ instead?

Why try to schedule practice times etc. Most good teams/players have quit or disbanded.

For a game that is literally brand new, the player base for PvP is awful….

Having the trick or treat bags in addition to the chest would be a much better Idea.

Spvpers play the tournies for competition, skins and salvaging so they dont spend their glory.

Not only does it take away potential skin earnage but also the crafting of new gear.

Seems odd to take another ‘currency’ away from spvpers. We need some love

Yes the farm is silly, yes it needs to be looked at.

But in every MMO there will be something very similar to this.

For those that do farm this rank, ok they farm it, it doesnt mean they are any good at actual spvp? Go into tournies, go solo go team, find these players and beat them at the game they have been ranking up in.

Show that you can complain just as well as you can spvp.

The only option atm I see is to abandon rank point accumulation in arenas, it should never really have been possible to rank up there. Imho only tournies and solo queues for tournies you should rank up. Making the player base and community a lot more solid especially in competitive play rather than just farming for a rank for gear. That way the pve players and the spvpers could play in harmony

+1 on agreeing to do something about it, but at the end of the day accusing eachother of different acts of farming and general trolling behaviour wont help the situation, other than anet looking at the thread and saying ‘oh no another thread of complaints that turns into trolling’.

Maybe create a thread where you can select the answqers you want and that are relevant to the subject line.

Unity will be hosting a Guild/team Spvp tournie at the end of September

The aim is to get at least 8 teams into a bracket situation, with a prize pool at the end.

The idea is for each team to submit 5 gold, and this all going into one pot at the end.

So 8 teams giving 40 gold at least. We will likely have a 1st and second prize pot.

I will also intend to stream the matches live on Twitch, this will be a one day event, if more teams apply we can perhaps organise further days and wider streams.

Just a quick word re: Helseth and being banned from that tournie and (possibly) the forums.

This is in defense of Anet.

Basically yea he may be right he may be wrong, but in life there’s a thing called respect and I don’t think this was even in the slightest adhered to.

Fine you have an issue with your class or another. Necro is OP when has any mmo not had this issue of class balance?

There is NO need to get abusive and take it out on the people that actually gave us a great game. If you have an issue with anet and continue to do so, give suggestions, creative criticism, then you might actually get heard…

Disrespect to designers and to people in the community is pretty dam uncalled for, you don’t like it the doors over here —-—>
