I sincerely hope you won’t split teams up in fear of a super team dominating the competition for a little while.For one it’s not a bad thing if one teams co sistentlh win and it fuels competition(look at rogue in Overwatch).If you want this to be a glorified academy gaming sure limit pro players from forming teams amongst themselves,but if you allow them to play without artificial handicaps and encourage pure competition.The scene will grow
There are no limitations for pro league players currently. Because there is no pro league and also this is a fresh start. At present there is no plan to limit players forming any team they wish. They just need to stay in the rules stated. Pretty much 1 tourney per region per month for any player

Regarding the participation of not-so-pro players, Sindrener talked about a Team-Captain approach. Former Pro League players each take 4 semi-pro members into their teams, scrimming with them before the tournament and teaching them the depths of structured pvp as far as possible.
This could be something we do monthly also but separate to the cash tournament. The captains would have to be very reliable, Sind and Misha is fine, but having others would be important. Tbh even an exhibition match once a month between a misha and sind team might be pretty cool in itself
Can we not have real money on the table? The community driven tournament should be for the community. Putting money on the table just seems like it’s trying to bring back ESL, but without the actual support of ESL.
Just put some legendaries in the prize pool. Or maybe Anet will be nice and gift lege armor when that comes out.
Money was never really the problem regarding the ESL Tournaments. Money wont be a focus of the tournament, even if every viewer gave $1 and we get a few hundred viewers its still a nice little monthly pocket money. Really we will just have to see how it works out. If money becomes an issue then we can switch to a more in game currency for winning. Really I want this to be community driven, so thanks for the feedback and pls keep it coming. Guys like you will shape it for the future
So, how could the community contribute to this initiative?
I was thinking maybe have a guild we can join to deposit gold into each month to serve as either a bump to the prize pool and/or to allow for runner up prizes as well. If you make the effort to do a daily it gives you 2g so those who currently don’t do dailies you could spend an extra minute or two, get the daily and donate that a few times. You don’t just have to PvP for dailies, there’s often easy WvW and PvE dailies.
I’d be willing to contribute 10-50g a month as a regular donation to begin with maybe more if I ever become a TP baron.
I believe prize pool gonna consist of real money, and thats better for everyone.
I heard it could be donation based, like TI for Dota. Dunno if its gonna be like that but its a good idea.
I have formed a guild which could def give out prizing. I want to be very careful about this as we would not be able to guarantee specifics for each Tournament. Community cash donations through matcherino are easily distributed as well. Of course people are welcome to join the guild and donate to the bank. Pls PM or mail me in game to join the guild and Ill hit people up with an invite
This will be just for NA or for both regions?Are you limited “pro players” to only 2 per team like some other tourneys? I heard somewhere there were going to be like 4$ tourneys with the prize pool increasing as the community donates.Great initiative i know a lot of people who have been waiting for a opportunity to play competitively again.Great work!

Hey man! Im currently casting Rocket League for ESL. Also Im starting up an Org for GW2 Tourneys I hope which will be community driven. Watch this space on that! Also streaming full time over here in the states
EU has more players, NA has more tourneys… RIP :/
More players, but less willingness to get a team together it seems atm for a 5v5. We can do ESL 5v5, but signups will likely be low. Also we still have two EU running 2v2 and 1v1 tourneys so technically there are more eu

Well compare two different species of bird, that evolved in different parts of the world. They are both majestic and unique in their own way, but due to certain environmental factors sub species could display completely different behavioral patters. Yes they are both birds, and no bird is more special than another bird when you consider a universal perspective; all live is amazing. However, its undeniable that sociological and behavioral patters of humans can vary from culture to culture.
I’m no psychologist but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out there’s a difference in the average player in EU and NA regions. But don’t take my word for it, go check it out for yourself. You’re still gonna lose in EU, and you’re still gonna have blowouts, but they are less common, and even when they do happen you don’t have people expressing their negative emotions quite as frequently and as vulgarly as in NA.
so EU and NA are also different species? i agree it can be different but im getting tired of non stop EU is superior to NA comments constantly. if you even mention your NA in a thread or stream you instantly get comments like “well na isnt real pvp anyway” as if the comment has no validity. your sample size is too small to say its for sure better 100%. id say you got lucky. EU has toxic people so does NA its no different.

I have a couple of questions:
It’s obviously easier to make massive plays against teams of lower skilled players, how will this be taken into account?
Also are multiple submissions allowed per player?
You can make one submission per week so choose wisely.
To be honest, even if it is vs lower skilled players we will be able to clearly see. By the way the other player or players in the team fight are reacting etc.
I want all level of players to have an opportunity to submit footage
