I think they’re asking for a bag that allows you to put any item in there to “mark it as junk” rather than sorting actual junk items to.
The problem with that would be when you pick up loot and everywhere else is full and it drops items in there automatically then you’d have to make sure what is in the bag before you auto-sell to vendor.
I’d much rather a right click option to mark something as junk rather than a bag that would hold items I deem junk.
They are part of exotic insignias now (via gossamer patches), they are needed in guild hall upgrades and are also part of precursor crafting progression.
AND they increased how many you need to refine them.
Why they didn’t just do one of the changes to see if that made them worth a little more rather than do every change possible all at once I’ll never understand.
Yes, because obviously wasting time trying to do Mad King clocktower (when I just couldn’t do it) and trying to get crabgrabber back in the day was such a much more useful way to spend my time than playing the game.
And I’ll agree that 1Ap for getting gold in adventures is quite sad and a whopping 5AP for migraine is also.
Yes, I’ll get to 30k AP with season 3 achievements…provided they’re not all 1AP like they have been doing with the HoT achievements.
But that’s not my point. Why should someone who has been here a long time get no AP for doing dailies when someone else who hasn’t reached this arbitrary cap does get the AP? Shouldn’t the game reward loyalty to the game?
You did not play efficiently in regards of collecting AP if you have 9689 hours and less than 30k AP. But if you goal is just 30k AP you will easily get it without doing any of the troublesome achievements as soon as Living Story 3 starts.
I missed a bunch of the old achievements because of lack of time or I didn’t feel like doing something. I spent a lot of time doing map completion on 17 or so characters too.
You’re right about the retired achievements, but how many AP would that be (honest question)? Can it even compare to the 15k (almost 5 years) from the dailies?
It is roughly 4700AP from retired achievements. It’s quite a bit.
They should remove daily AP completly. It was a big mistake to attach AP to them.
And you should see collecting AP as an Iron Man and not a 100m race. It will take time and dedication to reach 30k. 5000 hours since release sounds about right for 30k, 32k+ will take you another 5k hours
If they removed the AP from dailies then they would need to rework either when you get achievement chests or greatly increase how much you get from doing things in game.
Time and dedication….how does 9689 hours over 1385 days sound? And I’m at 29,791 AP.
Here’s the thing, there are so many old achievements that were from events that will never happen again that a newer player will still never be able to reach where the old players are now. They missed those events and won’t ever have the opportunity to do those and those events are much more AP than 10 from doing dailies every day.
And then, what’s the point of having rewards that are so far beyond even where I am if there’s no way to reach it? Even if I did EVERY single other achievement in the game that is currently available. Gw2 efficiency says I can only reach 32,883AP.
It’s okay to have something in the game that’s indicative of how long you’ve been here and how much you’ve done.
So, I’ve hit the AP cap for Dailies/Monthlies. I don’t know when it was, but it was sometime recently.
I was really looking forward to getting to the next milestone and finally getting the Hellfire chest piece. I’ve gone through the achievements I still haven’t completed and it appears to me that without significant grinding (offhand weapon master/giant slayer) AND spending more time than I’d like in another game mode, that getting to the next AP tier is impossible. I don’t mind doing achievements and I don’t mind spending time in the other game modes (but in small doses).
WHY do we have a cap on Daily/monthly AP? I’m doing the same things as someone else who is doing dailies and yet I don’t get AP and they do. It’s not my fault that other folks haven’t been playing as long as I have. I’m still going to do the dailies because it’s something to do with my husband and it’s an extra 2g, but I’d like to get the AP from that too.
Additionally, had I not already known there was a cap I’d be very confused because when you complete dailies it still pops up and tells you that you’ve gotten 10 AP when you haven’t.
I know I can’t be alone in wanting the cap raised or just outright removed.
Minstrel III: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ode_to_the_High_Wizard
Apparently this doesn’t count for the defend version of the High Wizard. I just participated in the defend event where the High Wizard was killed (and I helped kill him). Tried playing the song right after he died and then again after the event succeeded. No collection progress was made.
I do quite agree that I’d like more plant themed armor/backpieces, but for now we have these backpieces that are organic/planty:
Desert Rose
Fervid Censer
Sclerite Karka Shell (Organic but not planty)
Mysterious Vine
Cultivated Vine
Mawdrey
Bough of Melandru
Not many, but still a couple options. That Bough of Melandru is gorgeous if you haven’t looked at it yet. Previews don’t do it justice.
That wouldn’t even look right as a backpack. Why not use one of the two flower backpieces instead?
So exciting!
23) if you’re joining a team that’s mostly all one guild (and you see they have the fractal backpiece even) don’t be a snot and give orders and tell them what they need to be doing.
It’s not impossible to succeed the events. I got the last three successful events I needed as well as my collection achievements. You just need to make sure you have enough people killing as well as collecting.
When I do P1, we generally have a thief stealth through the basement solo. Don’t have to kill anything down there. The rest of the team runs through the upstairs and meets at the barn.
When you fight him in the other path (P3?), use blinds to help. It’s silly he doesn’t drop loot.
Awesome! Glad we could help. It’s not always obvious that there’s a checklist on some things like that. Many of the achievements that require a list of items to complete now have the checklists like this to help you figure out what you still need. It’s one of the best things they’ve added to achievements like this.
At least they’re looking at the events in hopes to fix it.
I don’t understand what you get out of people repping now.
Before repping was needed to build influence so the guild can purchase upgrades.
Repping before was also the only way to see guild chat.
Now: You can see all of your guild chats regardless of who you’re representing. The guild doesn’t need players to rep to build currency.
If the problem is people now showing up for guild events, then maybe they shouldn’t be in your guild. Guild members SHOULD be repping during scheduled guild events, but if people aren’t showing up then either it’s a problem with the events the guild is putting on or the people in the guild.
I haven’t been to Diessa in a few days
OMG Diessa is terrible and it makes doing the guild rush in that cave extremely painful.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Light-Bug-in-Diessa/first#post6176503
It’s been that way for several weeks now. I hope this one gets fixed soon. I’d rather have it too dark than so blown out you can’t see anything.
have you checked the meta achievement tracker to see which one you’re missing? Just doing extra profession achievements isn’t going to progress the meta. You have to do all 11 of the required achievements. See my screenshot below and look at that achievement to see what you’re missing.
I just wish that recipes learned from recipe sheets, were learned account wide rather than just that character.
Only recipes learned from recipe sheets, not discoverable ones.
What was said already: Use Invisible Bags to protect items you don’t want to accidentally sell at a vendor.
And since brown pigments are still the most expensive pigment, remember they’re really easy to craft: 25 potatoes & 100 nutmeg with your chef. Park a character or two at one of the two potato farms or just visit them daily to get your potatoes for the low low cost of whatever time you spend. Provided you have karma for the nutmeg and a few minutes to gather potatoes you can either fund your own scribing or sell for profit.

Omg, I would love a mini statue version of Mini Baron Von Scrufflebutt or Chauncey Von Snuffles.
NO! We need one of those wind up toy versions of the cat golems! (or remote controlled)
If I had that lack of organization in my inventory it would be a struggle too.
I do miss the random pvp skins you used to get with the AP chests. Everything else we get is nice too, I just miss getting random skins I might not have.
I use to have this issue untill recently i decided to focus on doing event chains instead of the ending meta, before I knew it I had 250+ crowbars and 1600 airship parts and not knowing what to do with either xD
only 1600 airship parts? I have over a stack of crowbars and 11,100 airship parts and I don’t know what to do with them! At least they’re in my wallet and can sit there XD.
A Mark as Junk option would be amazing. I would love it and want it asap.
However, there will be those people who accidentally mark their legendary/expensive/whatever as junk and they’ll complain about no confirmation and wind up selling things due to their own mistakes.
Until the time that I can mark whatever I like as junk and sell it all instantly I shall continue to sell every minor sigil one by one.
Farm all you need from the TP; much less frustrating.
They are almost 9 gold each. Need just 10, but spending 90 gold just to make a couple exotic rings for my engineer seems a bit too much. Oh well.
I dont think Anet realizes how rare they made them. All the other similar gemstones are not as rare.
Freshwater Pearls are also hard to get.
Personally, I want more Maguuma Lillies to make more flowers for the guild hall, but I’m not going to buy them at those prices.
As someone who has finished all of the weapon/armor collections from the new zones, I still appreciate the Hero’s Choice chests. I don’t need the zone currency really right now but it goes in my wallet so I’m appreciative of more. My only suggestions for changes in them are:
- Give them once per meta in the end wiggle box that you get at the conclusion of the event. (Not in the wiggle box for the lane/boss/etc). That will prevent people from trying to tag multiple to get more per meta cycle. If I’m spending an hour or more working towards the meta that requires participation levels to get the end box I’d like this box once per meta cycle.
- VB rewards: Why are you giving me barbed thorns as my guaranteed loot. I’d rather 5 airship parts than barbed thorns. What can I even do with these??
- DS rewards: this one especially I would like more machetes from the end box. Maybe give an option to get 1 crystalline ingot in the end chest (or 1 amalgamated gemstone). While I’d love more than 1 personally, just giving 1 Amalgamated gemstone or Crystalline Ingot seems fair and it would still take doing DS 250 times if you wanted to earn a full stack. It’s a huge time commitment to earn that part of a legendary and it should be that way. It’s an end-game skin and shouldn’t be easy/cheap to complete.
Even if they don’t get changed. I am appreciative of them being back and thankful for the extra currency!
I’d be using a whole lot more mystic coins if they weren’t so expensive….
That might be part of the reason ANet is comfortable with the current prices. These are used in the mystic forge to produce luxury items, so they represent an interesting way to allow small portions of wealth to switch from the 10% to the 90%.
Trust me…I know. I’ve made both shoulders (Wintersday & Halloween) plus 12 legendaries and have plans to make others. I’ve also done all of the specialization weapon collections which means I made all the mystic weapons I was missing. I’m out of mystic coins and need more before I can make the other things I want. I don’t want to pay current TP prices and as such I’m stalled or forced to pay more than I think I should for them. I can’t force people to lower the price so I either pay the price or don’t buy them…so right now I don’t buy them.
starts at noon PST today: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/PVP-S3-Start/first#post6158501

There’s a reason more people are flipping them to raise prices rather than buying to use them.
Thank you Erik! I appreciate the response and hoped that was the case. Now I can look forward to working on my metas when I get home and not bummed that I have to recalculate what I have to do.
I’m not sure I understand how this is going to affect my progress on the division crossing achievements.
I was in Ruby last season and had planned out how far I need to get to finish the last two metas.
“Rewards from skipped divisions will be awarded after players play one match in the new season.”
So…do I play one game then it skips me off to where I should start and get progress in the meta or am I screwed? I"m at work so I can’t play a game now to find out myself.
I gave some random over in the Players helping Players section all of the nuggets I had cause he was working on Juggernaut & I wasn’t going to use them. He pm’d me the results; 5 Silver Doubloons total. I don’t recall the exact amount of each of the nuggets I sent him; most were around 100 I think.
Getting 5 Silver Doubloons from a few hundred nuggets is fine.
It is really. From 4 full stacks of nuggets I’d average about 20-25 silver doubloons. And Sharkmaw (aka Weyandt’s revent/pirate jp in LA) has the chance to give 2 silver doubloons at a time. I’ve made Juggernaut and I have probably about 60-70 silver doubloons and I get more all the time. Silver doubloon rates are fine as is.
I would like an additional option in the last chest for login rewards to include an option for Mystic Coins though. I don’t see what that would hurt. It’s a once a month bonus for Mystic Coins and you’d have to give up getting 20 Laurels to get them.
What are those nuggets, and where can i find the recipe?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Silver_Doubloon#Acquisition
and these nuggets: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nugget_%28gemstone%29
Any 4 into the forge. I used what I have, but if you’re buying them go for what’s cheapest (obviously).

Choose this if you need mystic coins to make a legendary:

But I don’t need clovers. I need mystic coins.

The problem I see is that the OP is trying to sell things quickly after opening the trading post thereby selling the item for a few silver rather than waiting until the trading post fully loads and then selling it for 80silver or whatever the current listing is.
If you don’t wait for the prices to load, it will auto sell at vendor price and you’re going to lose out majorly.
I want something to eat my excess Airship Oil, Auric Dust, & Leyline Sparks… I guess I’ll just make stacks of Fulgrite I don’t need to condense some of that junk.
The 80 level boost already activates some waypoints I think, doesn’t it…?
No
Every account gets one waypoint on the starter maps. No extra are added if you boost to 80.
Actually the lvl 80 boost DID give a couple extra waypoints if you didnt’ have them already. But it just gives the one starting waypoint in each of those zones, not all of them. That allows the player to jump straight to those lvl 80 zones to play with mobs of their level. For that purpose, it makes sense. It doesn’t give anything for Silverwastes or any of the further places in Orr, you still have to do your own journey to find those places and beyond.
“Waypoints on their character will be unlocked for Gate Hub Plaza (Lion’s Arch), Dry Top Entry (Dry Top), Arundon (Frostgorge Sound), and Fort Trinity (Straits of Devastation) if they haven’t unlocked them previously.”
buried in here about the boost: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-19-2016/first#post6102518
Ok. I never saw that. I don’t think particularly relevant to the discussion of all waypoint unlocks with full map completion bonuses that the op asked for though.
Agreed. Asking for ALL waypoints in the game to be unlocked is a bit absurd. Asking for a few strategic waypoints to be unlocked with new characters….well they did that already didn’t they? Don’t all new characters get the first waypoint in each starter zone unlocked for free? You’re a brand new character so you get the first waypoint in each zone that is level appropriate for you. There’s no reason a new character would need more than that.
Perhaps as you level you get a single waypoint from another zone. I wouldn’t see the harm in that. i.e. You hit level 25 you get the starting wp in Brisbane. You hit level 60 you get the starting waypoint in Mount Maelstrom. That way as you level the game then points you to another level appropriate area. But nothing so drastic and silly as every wp in the game.
ALL backpacks sit too low on asura. I think it has something to do with the character model and how the rigging works. It’s just much more prominent with the sloth backpack as it’s hands are supposed to sit on top of your shoulders.
Look at any of the wings or back items and compare where they sit. They all seem to sit right above their behind rather than between their shoulder blades.

I opened mine on a lvl 80 too just to get rid of it. You do get a box that contains weapons & armor. But that box and the armor inside are SOULbound to the level 80 that consumed the level up item.
I had personally hoped to maybe use the free gear on a future character, but alas it could not be. I deleted mine as the character I consumed the lvl 80 boost on has full ascended and no use for exotic equipment.
If the OP put the chest of gear in his bank it should be there or on the character that consumed the boost. Since the OP also already has ascended gear on his lvl 80 I don’t know what they want with the exotic gear. It cannot be transferred to another character. I can’t be salvaged and it cannot be thrown into the forge. And you only get the one default stat set. It is literally a waste of bank space if your character is geared out already.
Oh geez. I hope they get that fixed soon! that’s not okay.
The hearts aren’t that far from one another, having the waypoints ahead of time isn’t going to save you that much time. There is literally no reason you need free waypoints to map complete a zone. Just start at one end of the zone and do it. It’s not that difficult. Bring gathering tools, kill things that get in your way and then you gather zone level appropriate materials while you do map completion. By gathering while you map complete you’re going to get a whole lot more than just completing the map.
All I’m seeing is people who want to be able to get to maps without ever having been there. This doesn’t seem to be about “making map completion easier”, having the waypoints is not going to make mapping a zone easier. Just walk there, it’s not like it takes hours to get from one end of the zone to the other. It takes minutes and not many of them either. Map completion is a part of character progression IMO. If you want waypoints in each zone, just literally run through them once and voila you have some waypoints now.
I see 13, and I almost puked. I want every Legendary and the fact that I have to do map completion for every 2 legendaries give me pain all over my body.
There should be a way to get the gift, without getting the map completion of every individual map.
BTW, I have deep respect for you (for real) I have done it a few times and I just can’t anymore.
I’ve done it 16-18 times…I can’t even remember anymore and I know folks who have done full map completion many more times than I have.
Honestly, I don’t see the point of asking for just the WPs unlocked…you’re going to pass by them getting POIs and doing the hearts. It’s not like they’re hard to get or find.
does this only happen when it’s the first person to be a slubling?
Actually, it is now greatly improved on where it was before and I find myself wanting to make more decorations how. There are still a few decorations that need sorting out (i.e. Potted Palm Tree and the others you make from it) but as far as the scribing kits go and how much you need for the pen, ink, etc that’s pretty darned good now and I don’t take any issue with that.
Can we at least get the Dragon Stand one back? The amount of machetes you get is pitiful and that was a nice bonus for getting machetes.
I don’t see why we can’t get it in the wiggle chest at the end of the Meta chain for 100%+ participation. If we’re going to spend 1-2 hours doing a meta chain it would be really nice to get it every time.
