the yellow party dots are a bug. Your party is supposed to be blue and supposedly the yellow dots are going to be guild members on the map that are NOT in your party.

If you’re not an explorer, why do you need the maps open in the first place? What need to you have to have the maps opened up?

If you’re going to a zone with a friend to do something…use a teleport to friend. Or just run there once and OH look you have the waypoint now.

Maybe give the WvW hero point unlock thing another option to unlock waypoints in PvE too. Then you can WvW and get your waypoints open that way. If you’re a PvE player, just walk there once and you have it.

Why? Guild missions, dungeons, world bosses and events to name the 4x that jump into my brain immediately.

I think teleport to a friend costs real life money right? It’s a gems tore purchase? No ty.
EDIT: Though if they gave mesmers a port to their location while not in pvp or wvw then Ill be happy with that

I have tons of teleport to friend and never bought any (3rd birthday gift & from Black Lion Chests- keys from drops/story)

Still I don’t see the problem about running to a zone. It doesn’t take long and you can use the xp to help level the character or level masteries. If they did a waypoint unlock thing it’d have to be completely optional and a gold sink.

May we have permanent activities? PLEASE?

I’d like to have them all permanent access somewhere so I could work on the achievements at my own pace rather than, well this one is the daily activity so I guess I’ll do this one.

I guess I can understand only having one at a time to make sure there are ample people doing them rather than spread out across all of them, but I hate how long crab toss feels.

From what I saw in the Beta, you’re going to be really lost doing the HoT story if you haven’t at least read thru a cliffnotes version of what happened in Season 2. The personal story won’t really have any bearing on your understanding but the Season 1 recap and Season 2 will.

Just being out in the open world will be fun regardless as those events seem to only be somewhat relatedish to the story. I’d highly recommend either reading about the Season 2 story or doing the story before getting to the HoT Story if you want it to make better sense.

How will the rewards for guild missions work, for let’s say PvP and WvW missions? As to my understanding a PvP team excists of 5 players and quite a lot of guilds have members from different servers.

Can people from multiple servers contribute to one WvW mission and will they all get a reward, even if it gets completed on one server first? And will all players gain rewards for the PvP missions, even if they are spread out over multiple teams?

Correct yes – multiple teams can contribute simultaneously to one mission for PvP – a guild team requires 3 or more players from the team be actively playing to use the team name, and a guild can have multiple teams playing simultaneously.

For WvW multiple groups of players can contribute simultaneously for WvW as well yes – the requirement is three or more players from the guild must be there participating at an event for it to count towards the mission.

That’s great for the guild favor part of the rewards, but what about personal rewards?

Do PvP/WvW missions give commendations? If so, how do you make sure all guild members that want to get their commendations for the week are able to get them? Especially since a guild of lots of people can’t all be on the same pvp team. How does that work? And what happens if you have a multi-server guild….do the ones not on the main server of the guild just get left out?

What if you team up with guildmates to do the missions and are in the map for the mission but you’re on an opposing server? Example: Yak’s Bend mostly guild doing a take a camp mission…one party member also in the guild is on BG/JQ but the rest of the party takes a camp….do they get personal credit eventhough they’re on another server?

tl;dr: If there are commendations and PERSONAL rewards for the PvP/WvW missions, how do you ensure that everyone that wants credit can get credit?

Reverse Maize Balm Griefing

The closer we get to Halloween, the more toxic this issue of balm farming seems to get.

It’s really brought out the worst behaviour in the player base. I’ve seen entire guilds trolling popular spots, effectively shutting down entire areas where balm farmers tend to gather. They set up macros to auto spam attacks, killing all ambients instantly…for hours at a time.

I’ve seen cooperating farmers turn on each other, fighting over the same resource.

I would like to see this taken out of the game, or have the opportunity of ambient clusters increased though out the game to avoid the trolls and other conflicts. It’s just not worth the harassment and abuse.

If you ever thought PvP players could get toxic to each other, try seeing what balm farming can do.

Heck, I went to the spot in queensdale one last week to find someone standing on the building named “No Farm here” with a guild tag [ToT]. can’t remember the exact guild name but it was basically the same idea. Anti-maize balm farm guild.

Why some people go to such lengths to ruin other people’s fun I’ll never understand. I just wanted to use up all of my maize balm before Halloween but I guess I won’t be able to do that because people are jerks.

If someone comes thru killing the ambients I don’t get hostile to them. I just roll my eyes and leave and try to come back later. There’s no point in getting kitteny and if someone is legit trying to troll that’s what they want is you to get kitteny with them.

I like to think I’m decent at jumping puzzles.

But my biggest problem with the clock tower and why I’ve never successfully completed it: the timer.

Given time to think and plan a jump- I’m great. Jumping under pressure- not so much.

Doing Uncategorized fractal with a friend….she starts running up the stairs and I throw a wall of reflect behind her. Now she’s dealing with the electric lines coming down the stairs and the reflected ones coming up behind her. She died, we rezzed her and all had a good laugh about it.

I think there will be a change in the reward for “Victory or Death”.
I think the guild influence scroll will change.
Same thing for the scroll in PS “Battle for Claw Island”.

True. That will be a change since influence will no longer be a thing. Wonder if it’ll be a favor scroll, just one less thing to get or something else entirely.

It’s a very old living story event where you had to race from one point to another to get I believe the flames of kyrta. It’s been reported like every other month on the forum so I’m sure it’s been noticed. But they aren’t too worried about it.

OOH! I totally forgot about that event. Weird. I’ve bug reported in game and at this point just ignore it.

I see an random “event” in Divinity’s Reach now and then too. Sometimes it’s near Rurikton, sometimes elsewhere.

When you have your content guide set to “Hide personal story” is when this (non)event thing shows up there. I haven’t seen it happen in any other city. Just DR.

I have tested this by changing your content guide to any of the other options and the event icon will go away.

That said, I agree with you and from a Roleplayer’s perspective it could do with being reined in a bit.

F2P can use the standard /dance /sit /cheer type emotes, they just can’t use /me. It’s to limit what types of spam/chat/communication channels they have.

No. people calm down. Again this is a PR move to use the Release excitement to overshadow the Trinity elements of the Druid, so less Anti-Healer chat would linger around during the new Druid additions, because the forum would be full of excitement from HoT release.

Very good PR business move.
Relax, we still will get updates post release. These last few betas were simply marketing. so dont worry.

I’m seeing a distinct lack of red around your name. Gaile has said elsewhere that the Betas we had were actual BETAs…not just a PR stunt. So I’m going with you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Now this I need to really complain about. To begin with when HOT was suggested people still wanted to keep the old system for new players. Meaning we were told by Guildwars 2 that we could continue to craft legendary weapons the old and exisiting way. What this tells me is we are once again being forced to buy HOT and are not given a choice. Well this maybe alright for some others are more inclined to ask why the sudden change in what was already stated and promised by the developers.

The old system (for the old legendaries) is staying. If you want the new legendaries that come with the expansion….you need the expansion.

I just like names that follow racial naming conventions. Whenever I see a Sylvari named “Deadly Thorn”, “Lord Grand Oak”, etc, I facepalm a little bit on the inside.

Then every single one of my characters will make you facepalm. LOL.

I don’t like the reduction in transmutation charges. But what’s with the Tome’s of Knowledge hate? Some of us actually level things.

Some of us with characters exceeding a total of 8 have already leveled all of our characters to level 80 and still have stacks of Tomes of Knowledge in the bank.

That may be true but that’s not everyone. New people join the game every day and some people really enjoy making new characters. Heck I’ve made like 4 new characters in the last week and a half and I’m already planning 3 more lol.

Yeah but look at Login rewards and see how many tomes of knowledge you get there vs. transmute charges. We get a bunch of tomes each month and not many transmute charges.

Personally I don’t care one way or the other, but I like the transmute charges, want another way to get Mystic Coins and don’t really need more tomes of knowledge.

I hope that the new rank based unlocked tracks will either include the old rank based skins that you could once earn (Stalwart, tribal, etc) or this means that they’ll someday add new tracks that are rank based unlocks to get these skins back.

And I’m very curious to see what a “Jungle Shark” looks like. Maybe a Shark jumping the jungle? (In Maguuma Wastes Shark jumps you.) >.>

I still don’t understand how needing THREE people is a barrier. 3 whole people. That is not “hard core” or trying to exclude anyone. Three people is all that is needed in order to get credit for most guild missions. At most that’s finding two more people who have a similar schedule.

Why is it suddenly so bad to make new friends or even acquaintances again? I’ve been following this thread and I can’t make sense of it.

A 5 person guild is a tiny guild and not in any way shape or form a hard thing to manage. No one has to boss anyone around or be bossed around.

I just really don’t get why people are so bent out of shape about needing 3 people to get credit for guild missions.

I couldn’t even keep my pet alive playing as a druid. Druid can DIAF. I have never and will never play a “pure healer”. Support is one thing. Tanking is one thing. Those are fine. I love my ranger dearly and it kills me to see on the surface what Druid is. Right now I hate it so very much. I’m not good at theory crafting by looking at stuff on paper or reading what this does and how it works. I need hands on practice and seeing myself how things play with one another. The little bit I got to play with Druid. It hits like a moldy wet noodle and I couldn’t even keep my pet alive so how is that helpful? I’ve poured so much work into my ranger and right now I can’t even look at her because I’m just so angry with the Druid spec.

Reaper though, is so much fun and I can’t wait for that.

Rev/Herald I didn’t play much with it. I don’t know the class yet so I can’t say one way or the other.

… I just don’t understand why it is such a big deal to upgrade your micro “guild” to a full 5 man party. Or to just make one more friend so you’re at 3 people. Are you that terrified about making new friends? 5-10 people is still a very small guild. Very manageable, you should be able to get to know everyone really well, no one should feel bossed around or like they need to be bossy to others. Just a small tight knit group of friends.

No one is going to make you join a massive 100+ player guild…or even a 50+ player guild in order to do everything. But seriously people. If your guild can’t even do a full guild team for a dungeon, how do you expect to do guild missions?

All over 60s fight, after that there is some downtime. 100% uptime on 11 Might, Fury, Swiftness, Regeneration and Protection. 60% uptime on Vigor. 60% uptime on Stability. Healing Spring heals for 25k. Spotter for 150 Precision. Frost Spirit for +10% damage x 5 people. Sun Spirit for 30 burn ticks every 8s. SmokeScale pushing out top damage.

Then you have the Druid healing on top of that.

Consider yourself enlightened.

Beta Weekend Druid Feedback Thread

I’ve played for a few hours so far on my druid. I play a zerk ranger most of the time in pve and was super disappointed to see a healing spec. But I tried it with my usual zerk gear.

I roamed around the new zone a bit and here are my thoughts.
Used zerk gear, trying out all the new signets and staff.

Damage is okay. Staff 3 needs an evade or something else. Right now it’s (for me) an annoyance like thief shortbow 3. It doesn’t do any damage at all. But it’s a blast finisher and that’s nice.

The staff overall feels really clunky, but this might be because I’m coming down with a cold and don’t feel great to begin with and everything feels weird.

Celestial form….only two of the skills do damage. For me, not worth teaching my fingers where F5 is to bother using it.

Glyphs….my world for a stun break and stability. I don’t care which ones. I need some stability & a stun break somewhere if I’m going to use glyphs.

I didn’t roll ranger to be a healer so this is my perspective from a purely I want to do damage and kill things perspective. This just might not be the elite spec for me.

The new pets however, amazing. Can I please keep my magnificent giant bristleback?

I hate how fast the new pets die though. Their health pool even on the bristleback & smokescale seem really low. And As I’m trying to figure out the new spec I keep forgetting to swap pets constantly to avoid the stupid 60 second recharge when the pet dies. It’s bad enough to get stuck with a dead pet in the middle of a fight, but then you finally get to swap to a new one but Whoops too bad it died because the first one died and your recharge was way too long.

  • Personal rewards for guild missions: Do the new pvp/wvw missions give commendations? If so, how many; any changes in weekly cap for commendations; how does an individual get credit if they can’t participate with the group doing the small group missions (i.e. pvp ones)?

Like everyone else says. You are the “owner” of the guild. They made you leader & left.

Personally, if they were slandering me in anyway, I wouldn’t call them friends and I’d kick them out of the guild. If there weren’t many active members left in the guild, I’d probably disband it out of spite. (If you want to disband a guild you have to kick everyone then you yourself leave the guild.)

But it’s up to you to decide what you’re going to do.

Alright well let’s discuss, a full explanation in complete detail in why these changes were made, why was ranger boons were discussed on Twitter rather than the ranger community to begin with, why was the inherent issues of “boon duration” discussed via Twitter only to have two side changes made on top of those durations made without announcement ANYWHERE?
I hope you understand how disrespected and shocked many of of us are, hundreds? Thousands of us. I hope you realize that some of them don’t want to stand up but that’s why those of us who will fight for those who can’t are right here to stand up against this unjust treatment. You’re right, we have forums for a reason…so why don’t the devs use them to talk to us?

Curious: I’m still at work. Have you guys played with WHaO yet since the change? I’ll be trotting out my Ranger tonight, but I wondered if you’re basing your thoughts on statistics — which I can respect — or on playtime — which also is valuable.

I tried it after the patch. It doesn’t do anywhere near enough to justify using it anymore. I had to sacrifice a trait line, condi cleanse and use my heal when I didnt’ actually need the heal part of it in order to stack boons nicely. You can’t do that now so it’s worthless to me. The previous version had the amount of reward that made those risks and sacrifices worth it. Now it’s all risk and no reward so no thank you to the current version.

Seriously people? It’s end-game content, it should be expected that you’d have end-game gear to match. Everyone can craft ascended gear. Sure it’s time-gated, but it is possible to get. Start working on it if you want to do raids.

Like those few extra % will make a difference.. please.. :P

Then why are people complaining?

(Disclaimer: I don’t have full ascended on all of my characters but I’m going to be working to gear out the ones I want to raid with. It’s not a big deal.)
