Yeah, the particle effect and frost sound are tied to the exotic aquabreather and it is not a separate skin. Former guildmate of mine was hiding in Bay (wvw) and was going to take it back and the enemy found him because they followed the sound. He discovered the hard way that just changing the skin of the breather didn’t remove the sound. lol.

I wish it was a separate skin with the particle effects rather than the effects tied to it being that particular aquabreather. I don’t think any other skin in the game works that way, does it?

It’s a human thing. Apparently human monks have transcended so much they no longer need feet to walk.

I previewed it on my sylvari and they have feet.

did you double click one of the four key fragments to create a complete key?

The connection seemed fine tonight, a little lag here and there when there were tons of people (but that’s expected). None of the epic crazy 2-4k pings that we had yesterday. Hope it stays good like today!

And still no response regarding Howler? Ele is getting warhorn now too, please fix Howler!

Nope. Core game you get nothing. In HoT you will gain mastery points.

If you use one of those level up tombs, then you will get a Spirit Shard instead but normal XP leveling, you get nothing.

a little more clarity. When HoT is released you will not get mastery points with leveling. Mastery points will be earned by doing things (like mapping, finding commune points, etc. You use the mastery points to unlock mastery tracks that you will “level” with xp.

Think about it like the pvp tracks. You unlock the track then progress through it with doing things like mapping, killing things, etc that would give you xp.

I have my “swim down” bound to C and haven’t had issues.

Pointing your camera down works if you’re just swimming down, but if you’re fighting underwater it helps to have that extra mobility of being able to move up/down to deal with mobs.

This has been happening to my husband too. We have identical systems on the same network running side by side. His game will drop to 0-5FPS with insane ping spikes (2k-4k or more). It happened at Shatterer, it happens in a pvp room where it’s just us two, and he’s not running anything more than I am in the background. He has no malware, no viruses, all the hardware checks out fine. We’re both still running Windows 7 for now and it’s getting really frustrating. Not sure what else we can do on our end to get this fixed.

Everything works fine on my computer. I guess we’ll try having him play on my computer to see if the lag continues to see if it’s account based or what.

I don’t like the cannon phase. It’d be better if it was a pattern of cannon fire rather than randomly centered around players (if it is a pattern, I don’t see it). And I hate how she always walks out of the kitten static fields even if you’re right there near her.

I much prefer the Molten duo or Maw. By the time I get to the end boss I"m tired of fractals and just want to be done with it. Can’t wait til it’s just a single fractal per level. I stopped doing high level fractals because it takes too long.

I would love if night was darker like in the forest of Snowblind. It would make glowy weapons/torches more useful at night. The light adaptation check box could make it so it looks as it does now, but to have a standard overall dark nighttime would be awesome.

Did you finish Arah story before the tracks existed? If so you’ll have to re-do one of the explorable paths of Arah or complete the story on another character in order to unlock the track.

If you completed Arah Story mode after PvP Tracks came into existence then this is a bug and you should report a bug in-game and possibly contact support directly as well.

but really, Celestial is good on some classes because of how they work and it’s fine the way it is.

You still “level up” and get the woosh and knockback effect but other than that, xp on 80s right now is just wasted and does nothing at all.

I wish we would have gotten a mastery line or two for Tyria pre-launch so it wasn’t completley wasted xp, but whatever, it’s not like I won’t be getting plenty of xp later too. Just don’t waste your boosters on XP on 80s right now.

Because of the upcoming mastery system and how lvl 80 characters will be progressing once we get the expansion, xp on a lvl 80 currently does nothing.

It’s silly, but they said that once we got the updated Trait lines and hero points and spirit shards were split in how you get them.

I don’t think they should release banned acct names either. Why? Because the banned person could just buy a new account, use their same names and go on like nothing happened.
There needs to be consequences for being banned, and permanently losing your names is one of them.

And if someone has the name you want…find a different name. I’ve never had a problem, sure some of the names I originally wanted were taken, but I found a different name and I love the names i have.

Unfortunately it worked the first time it happened, but not the second time.
Here is a screen from my lv 80 character (7910AP, but 8000 AP chest taken).
I had to log into GW1 and stay in the HoM for around 15 minutes to get 8k AP again.

Did you try logging into an older character that was not in Heart of the Mists (or leaving Heart of the Mists)? Sometimes some weird things happen (or don’t happen as they should) if you’re in the PvP Lobby.

Yeah, every time I create a new character it takes away all my of honestly earned HoM points/titles.

I log out of new character & back onto any older character and all points/titles are back and under newly earned. I tried logging out and just back to the new character and that didn’t give the points back. You have to log in one of the older characters to get the points back.

I submitted a bug report in-game for this. It’s not game breaking as you seem to always get your rightfully owned points back, but it is frustrating to always have them taken away and given back. I’d like to see my actual “recently earned” stuff in my hero panel rather than my HoM stuff that I actually earned years ago.

This might actually get me doing fractals again. Looking forward to this! I got to level 50 a long time ago and rarely do fractals anymore.

I’ve seen that happen before too, but just because the laser/battery event failed it doesn’t mean that you’ve failed Teq if folks stay and DPS him down. The time I saw this happen the first group that spawned killed the laser in less than 10 seconds before we were able to get there. We all respawned and DPSed Teq down and won despite that.

Personally I think that HoT is the new “core” game but they’re calling it an expansion + old core. Once existing copies of the old “core” game are gone you won’t be able to get it anymore so it only makes sense to me that with each new expansion of GW2, there is a new version of the game that you’ll essentially re-purchase to get the expanded content.

I wish that the gift from scarlet was account bound since you can only get it on one character.

Makkay’s VO is played client side, so every player will hear the right lines regardless of how many people are interacting with her. Also, all her lines are logged to chat so you can read it afterward. It’s new tech that we plan on using more often in the future.

If it’s an elite/vet/lesser mob…what does it matter? It’s annoying, sure, but not life threatening. But for super cereal times, yeah don’t knock back if most folks are meleeing.

There are alternative methods of acquisition for ascended gear:
Fractal tier reward chests
Drops from: champ bags, silverwastes buried chests, Tequatal, triple trouble, guild missions, pvp reward chests, wvw reward chests
Collection Achievement rewards

But as it is the highest tier of armor the drop rate is low and it should be.
If you want a guaranteed way to get it, you craft it.

Some months back there was a bug where if a person made a char on a particular day, his account got a number of Hall of Monuments titles, achievement points for them and any achievement chests that from the extra points. ANet had to make the tools to remove titles and achievement points from accounts and the bug fix went through with the last update. Apparently you were one of the people who got the titles and achievement points and the notice is an ingame way to tell you they were removed.

so how doi fix it?

If you played GW1 and earned the achievements and the points/titles you earned are gone you need to contact support.

When I made a new character it said my points/titles were taken away, but when I logged back into an older character they were there again (and still there when I went back to the new character).

If you got the titles/points via the bug then you do nothing as you didn’t earn them and so they were taken away.

I’m pretty sure i’ve never had the original issue, I never saw “GWAMM” or the other ones higher than “Rift Warden”, and now I get a mail saying “oops sorry we’re taking your AP’s back” and i’m now down x hundred APs.

Note: I only got the mail just now, when i created a new character, not before, when I logged into my existing ones.

Ok, so I log out to desktop and log in again and now I have my APs back and it says i’ve recently completed the respective titles up to and including “Rift Warden”, so I guess that makes everything better?

This exact same thing happened to me. I made a new character (for a key) and I got the letter and my HoM achievements disappeared….the 32 points that I had gotten legit from doing GW1 (I never had the GWAMM wrongly or otherwise). Logged out the new character and back onto my old and boom all my achievements are back and in my recently earned like I just got them.

There’s a pretty comprehensive list of the bugs folks have found so far. Most of it seems to be visual bugs and on some characters but not others.

Right clicking on any collection item seems to crash the game too (I think that’s mentioned there).

2/3 of the characters I logged in have been “reset” but it appears to be only visually? While dailies are “reset” and appear not done doing the stuff to progress them doesn’t work. Likewise I tested to see if you could “re-do” the collections on a character that appears to have it all locked and I bought one of the Frogs in a Jar. Right clicking on the frog in the jar crashed the game. I happened to have one of the wintersday unlock items and you can’t consume those either (as you really have it done so you can’t re-do it).

It’s all sorts of weird. When I get home I’ll see if my main is bugged too (I hope not) but hopefully they figure out the fix soon, it’s unnerving to have all of my progress reset when I’ve worked to complete all of those achievements.

Patch is up…husband says the pets are not back in the Hall of Monuments yet.

Edit: Also, the vendor is still turned off. I’m guessing to make sure the fix goes thru correctly so those that haven’t earned stuff can’t get it?

Salvaging rares doesn’t give luck so the action of salvaging those for players shouldn’t be linked to them reaching MF cap.

Do you even know how salvaging works? You often get essences whenever you salvage equipment, period.

You only get essences of luck from salvaging fine/masterwork gear (blues & greens only)…you never get luck from rares (unless they’re the weird leveling weapons that don’t give you any mats at all, just luck). Do you even know how salvaging works?

I’m happy with the amount of laurels we get. I just wish that there were more ways to get mystic coins. We get less of those a month and they’re used for so many things.

It only unlocks on the alt that uses it. However, as long as you know which alt has it, you don’t need it more than once. That alt can make the insignia and put it in the bank for the alt making the final item.

Yes. Exactly this. This is how I’ve done most of the ascended insignia recipes. I keep putting them all on one profession too so I don’t have to hunt does my armorsmith know this one or is it leatherworker?

The endless loop howl being fixed is not the problem here. They removed every last bit of the night time effects. That is what the people here (including me) want back.

You should see it underwater. It’s terribly disturbing. If you want to see it in even greater detail in the preview window use a tonic that makes you tiny (or the box of chocolates skill #4) then preview the mini.

One back foot is completely broken (limp)
The other back foot the toes are way stretched out and the webbing in between makes this huge triangle flipper.

I submitted a bug report in game several weeks ago when I saw this.

Poor toxic scale left in the miasma too long.

I love my engineer and have quip. I love and hate using kits. The kits are awesome and fun to use but as soon as I equip a kit, my footfalls and glow disappear. I would love to be able to throw confetti grenades and bombs but mostly I want to keep my glow/footfalls when using a kit.

I don’t care if there’s a sound change for the skills (though that would be nifty).
Changed animations would be wonderful, but I can live without that.
Please let engineers keep their glow/footfalls when using a kit.

Most people spend a lot of time building their legendary to get the special effects and skin only to lose it when you use your class mechanics.

Dry Top does drop Geodes as event rewards.

And they all go in the wallet so there’s no reason to convert one to the other as they don’t take up physical space anymore.

You only get access to the trinkets/rings you get for completing the achievements at the vendor after you finish the achievements.

Complete the achievements > Get one free ring/accessory > Then you can purchase additional ones at the crest/laurel vendors.

it’s 20 minutes every hour that you can go to Dry Top. at :40 after the hour every hour.

I wait until I have about 20-40 of the zephyrite lockpicks then pop into dry top to chest hunt. I can usually find 12-18 buried chests during those 20 minutes. It helps to know the possible spawn locations and be able to traverse quickly over the zone. I don’t do the events during the sandstorm when I’m purely chest hunting as that takes up too much time when my purpose is to unload my keys. I’m usually done with the entire zone with 4-5 minutes left in the sandstorm so I mine quartz while I’m there and pick up the ancient wood and ori I find along the way.

I don’t see a need to have this chest in my home instance.

It’s been way more than 5 months since they broke this. They broke it with the April 2014 patch when they removed the endless wolf howl loop.

By removing the wolf howl loop they removed all of the night time effects and the only time you can sort of hear the howl is when you use the warhorn (and most of the time that howl is covered up by your skill effect sound).

They break other legendaries and they get fixed super fast….going on 1.5 YEARS later and Howler is still broken.

Considering the birthday blaster was entirely unexpected (at least for me), I would think we’ll be getting something completely different than the straightforward gift of crafting mats, or weapons/armor, or even BLTC items. Chances are, Anet made unique items specifically for the birthdays.

I would be completely okay with an account bound version of the old Black Lion skins. I’m 5 away from finishing the sclerite collection and there are loads of other old ones I want.

But it’ll be something completely different than that just like you say. Something unique to birthdays.

This here. you have to buy 100 of the ascended quality Globs. The lesser ones do not count towards the achievement.

I’d like to have dual footfalls if I weild say Frostfang & Rodgort together. Ice from one foot and fire from the other.

And Minstrel does have a slight music note trail (but I think only if it’s not stowed). It’d be nice for it to have a slight music note trail all the time.

I don’t know what kind of footfall you’d expect with Flameseeker though. Random book pages? New Krytan letters/words? Maybe just a shimmery gold trail?

It depends on which two minis they are. Some are gem store purchases, some you can get from the trading post, some were rewards from achievements/collections.

If you have a miniature that you’ve already added to your collection you won’t be able to “add” them again.
