If you stealth or go down fixate changes targets. I think the same is true if the person who becomes a slubling is currently fixated. So in a way you can control who has fixate I guess.
It’s not just in PvP. It super sucks in PvP for sure.
The giant button also happens anytime you leave a transformation. I’ve also seen it happen when you swim underwater.
I don’t know if it happens if you use a golem or something in WvW as I haven’t done WvW in forever, but it probably happens there too.
It’s been a rare bug since HoT launched, but now that it’s more common maybe they can figure out what’s causing it.
Kilroy Stonekin!!
Serious. Loved that guy!
Also Sieran & Forgal.
Were you in the instance with someone else? If so, it is possible you did not tag enough for kill credit. This happened to me and a friend so we had to re-do it and I let him tag everything first before I helped him kill them. That way we were sure he was getting credit for each kill. There should be enough in there to have about 5-6 left alive when you get the achievement.
TBH, this is fair.
Life Force and Adrenaline Both start with 0 at the start of the match
Adrenaline also decays out of combat, but it builds really fast so that’s not an issue.
what Life Force you gain during the match stays after you die, so that’s not an issue.
AF completely goes away when you die. If what you gained stayed after you died it wouldn’t be a problem.
Right now, starting with 0 then losing it all when you die and again starting with 0 is a problem.
In short…if we’re going to start with 0 can we at least keep what we’d gained similar to how necros get to keep the Life Force they’ve gained. I’m dealing with it, but I hate it.
my friends and I tend to make tagless squads so we don’t have to deal with random squad invites. If I don’t want to join the squad for the meta, I’m not going to and they can deal.
I dont’ think anyone is asking to completely negate the timegate of mystic coins. I personally just want it shortened a bit.
I’ve made 10 legendaries and will soon make my 11th. I know all about timegates and spending gold to make them….that’s not the issue. I’ve made both of the shoulder skins from Wintersday & Halloween as well and wound up buying a bunch of coins then too. Again, I could have waited longer, but I just bought them because I could. Still, I wish we at least got as many per month as we used to.
At least a slight increase in Mystic coins will be helpful in making not only legendaries but everything else that requires them as well.
Minimum increase – more from the Mystic Forger daily
Ideal increase (for me) – Add an option to the Chest of Loyalty to get 20-30 Coins.
Probably too much of an increase but would be nice – Also add them to the map rewards.
I know I included the 20 from daily logins currently. 20+30 = 50 = 5 month timegate on a new legendary (minus daily mystic forger of course) if you get your clovers from pvp. getting back to 9-10 months if you are talking about forging for clovers.
Just handing out more does reduce the price. However, I am fine with the current price, the issue I see is that supply cannot be purposefully created in response to increased uses and ANet has shown with the halloween and christmas shoulder skins that they will just drop in a recipe needing 250 coins. What the game needs is a more purposeful and reliable way to get them by other means that retains their value while making them more accessible whether through my proposal or some other means.
True (I’m bad at mathing…). I completely agree with you. Another method of acquisition besides login rewards would indeed be helpful and I would use it.
And addition to the Halloween & Wintersday shoulders we now need to make the mystic weapons if we want the specialization weapons.
What if they got added as a possible map reward bonus? That way for at least one week of the cycle they would be farmable though PvE gameplay.
Just curious… why can’t some of the old materials be re-released? Seems to be what a lot of people are asking for. You can always do a test in the gemtore and see how well they sell. I guarantee if you put the Bunny Ears in the gemstore or even the greatsword chainsaw skin, it’ll “fly off the shelf”.
Oh, they can come back, and they do from time to time. I’m just seeing what’s on folks’ minds these days, nothing formal, and certainly not “required posting” for anyone.
Emphasis mine.
These items have never been back since 2013 when they swapped town clothes to outfits and made these items stand alone helm skins.
Bunny ears
Aviator Sunglasses
Wide Rim Glasses
Sport Sunglasses
Why?
We’re not asking for all the old town clothes that became tonics to return as outfits (though that would be nice since they’re already modeled and exist in the game). I (and many of us) just want these items that are now helm skins to return so we can throw money at you and buy them.
Formerly we got one mystic coin a day plus 10 mystic coins for Monthlies for a total of 38-41 mystic coins a month. Last month I got a whopping 25 mystic coins.
I think all we need is an additional option in the chest of loyalty to give us 20-30 mystic coins.
This would make it so that folks that wanted/needed more mystic coins could get more in a month and choose that option. Don’t need to have account bound mystic coins or any other weirdness. Choice is good right?
30 mystic coins in the final monthly chest still results in about a 5 month gate. Its better, but still too long, even if they are tradeable. Dont like the account bound part? fine. if it works within the market to allow tradeable coins to be made that way, sure, forget the account bound part. Making them account bound was to avoid having a giant crash (even though there would be some intial decrease) on the tp.
30 in the final chest would be on top of the 25 or so we get through the track and mystic forger daily for a total of about 55 every 28 days. This would be better than the old daily/monthly system and would help ease the cost of the coins without completely crashing the market (which some people seem to care about).
Another option would be to give 5 mystic coins for the daily since it comes up so rarely.
One thing that has been proven to be broken / unfair is limiting the number of those receiving credit for the kill . If you’re not among the first ( around 50 they say ), you receive nothing, no matter how much damage you do. If you do not believe this, try any champion spawned during a world event, for example Modniir Ulgoth.
Thats because you probably didnt do enough damage to get credit in that case, thats why people join groups and squads.
I’ve tested this on my ranger and there is some sort of limit on how many receive loot from the champs. Say at Ulgoth I rapid fire the first champ that the zerg attacks then I move on to the other two and tag both of those as well before the zerg gets there. I don’t ever go back to do more damage to the first champ beyond rapid fire because it dies so fast. I barely do any damage at all to that first champ, but I still get that champ bag because I was one of the first few to hit it. Same goes for the other two champs. It has nothing to do with how much overall damage you do. I’ve done this solo, without a party of any kind so there’s no way grouping up affects it either. It might help, but I don’t think it does because I’ve partied with others for this and they don’t always get the bags when I do.
The type of champ bag you get is random based on the level of the champ and your personal level. If it’s a lvl 80 champ (and you’re lvl 80) it’s always going to be an exotic bag.
If you’re under lvl 80 you will get a champ bag based on your level. This will be the highest quality bag you can possibly get. You can see this in action if you level your character in HoTM. It’s something like lvl 1-20 white bag, 20-35 blue, 35-50 green, 50-65 yellow, 65+ gold. (I don’t remember the exact levels so don’t quote me on this).
If the champ is sub 80 and you are max level you have the possibility of getting any rarity champ bag. If you qualify for loot you get a champ bag. It’s random as to which one you’ll get.
Your participation level only affects bronze/silver/gold credit for the event, not what type of loot you get.

Why don’t we get a choice of getting 20-30 Mystic Coins in the chest of Loyalty is what I’d like to know.
I’d like the town clothes that became tonics to become outfits so I can wear them in combat and dye them.
Also, all of your characters will always be on the same server. If you want to change servers you need to purchase a server transfer.
I don’t mind getting the minor runes/sigils….it pays for using the salvage kit since I don’t sell mats, but I’ll happily vendor the trash for the extra coin.
In addition to the new map rewards and leaving a lvl 21 character at Weyandt’s Revenge you can work on forging them too.
Use the pebble level gems and toss them in the forge. I got about 20-30 Silver doubloons from 4 stacks of pebbles.
You’ve got plenty of options now so I don’t see the problem. I made it with 250 and yeah it was a pain, but it’s a legendary and there are ways to get your doubloons.
Anet hugely screwed up when making crafting so easy in this game.
Not everyone needs to have every crafting skill maxed or we might as well delete crafting professions and do everything via the mystic forge.
I’ll politely disagree with this. Not everyone in the game NEEDS to max crafting, but those that want to should be able to do so with approximately the same cost per profession (I’d say within +/- 100g of one another). I like that crafting is easy and want to it remain as such.
Like I said before the biggest changes that need to be made to scribing are:
- Fixed amount of slivers from each type of guild mission 3/5/10 for easy/medium/hard
- Reduce upgrade cost of slivers from 3 per level to 2 per level
- Create a consolidated unique recipe for each level of scribing kit used in recipes so there isn’t a huge nest of requirements.
- Slightly increase pigment drops.
Not huge changes overall, but just slight tweaks to make it consistent and ease the cost of some of the new materials like slivers and pigments.
As with any crafting profession there are going to be some things along the way of leveling that are going to cost more than others. I leveled scribe to 400 with relatively little cost comparatively since I have a hoarde of mats. My biggest cost was slivers and pigments.
It would be fantastic if you could level scribe by making decorations for the guild, but right now that’s cost prohibitive and the best way is to make WvW schematics and backpacks. That is great for guild that have the WvW stuff unlocked…..but crap for the others.
Freshwater Pearl, Maguuma Lilly, and Flax Blossom all seem to be extremely rare. They all seem to have an even lower droprate than Passion Flowers from the non-blooming nodes.
When we first got Southsun cove there were no Blooming Passaflora there and we complained about how hard it was to get Passion Flowers. They later added in the two Blooming Passaflora nodes and that helped tremendously.
Can we please get some Blooming Flax, Blooming Jungle Plants and Pearl Mussels added to each of the HoT zones to allow us to gather these materials with greater consistency and regularity? I’d hope to see 2-4 nodes in each of the zones and they could be randomized so maybe one day there would be 3 pearl and one Lilly in VB and 3 flax blossom in TD with another Lilly. Or even just 2 of them per zone. Something so we don’t have to completely rely on RNG.
- One of the decorations my guild has made was the globe that requires a gift of exploration….We were really hoping that would be the Order of Whispers globe considering it took a gift of exploration. Instead it was a tiny little globe. It doesn’t even spin or do anything. Something either needs to change with this recipe or the model of the item needs to be updated to something a little more impressive.
- Uzolan’s Orchestra I think is almost right where it needs to be for the cost vs. what you get. I think it should have required one of gift of condensed magic rather than the full gift of Magic but that’s the only change I’d make there.
- The Scribe finishing kits: I wish these weren’t so nested in one another. It’s really frustrating when you get like 8 recipies in and by the time you get there you forget how many you need of something or miscalculate something and then wind up making too many or not enough. Can you just make it a single recipe that requires x bottles, x dye, etc.
- Resonating sliver upgrades: Why does it take 2 of every other sliver/shard/core to upgrade but it takes THREE to upgrade these? That would be a huge help right there if you cut it back to two that it takes for the others to upgrade.
- Resonating Sliver drops: My guild does all of the PvE guild missions each week and it seems that the amount we receive is random. Perhaps we could get a fixed amount per difficulty type instead of the current random amount. And the other resonance thing that we sometimes get could just be a bonus on top sometimes. I’m always super disappointed to get the Rare quality resonance fragment because that means I just got gypped out of getting slivers.
- Pigments: I think since brown is currently required in everything if brown pigment also had a chance to drop from armor when salvaged (possibly just leather) and have all pigments drop a little more often when harvesting plants that would be a big help and the recipe requirements shouldn’t need changing.
Note: I am already max level scribe, but something seriously needs to be worked out so that everyone who wants to level scribe can do so for about the same cost it takes to level up any of the other crafting professions. I don’t mind it being slightly more expensive due to the fact that so many of the ingredients are new with HoT, but right now it does seem quite out of place with how much everything requires.
Are you sure you learned the feast of truffle steak dinner and not just the feast of truffle steak?

That’s been a bug for a long time. Over a year now I think? It is unlikely they’ll fix this. I would submit an in-game bug report though.
Raven named “Thats So”
I noticed several months ago that the skills for Crab Toss were broken. I had submitted an in-game bug report. I hadn’t tried it since then….apparently still broken.
I had this oddity happen the other day in Kessex. Not on a Chronomancer, just a mesmer I made for an RP plot. During the RP some local spiders occasionally wandered into the scene — this happened when dispatching one, and it hung around long enough for me to screen it.
I’m pretty sure this is not what the OP saw, though.
That’s just a boon an a wyvern pet. You should see Aegis on the wyverns, they get a huge sail!
It has been doing that since HoT launched. I and several others have bug reported it several times.
It seems the sacrifice animation/cut scene triggers at the :05 on the clock and is included in that timer.
No one I’ve heard mention this bug thinks it’s good or intended. I hope they fix it.
If my team is losing I work on the interrupts and health gained achievements. That’s my incentive.
That is unfortunately how it worked in Snowball mayhem too. The Volunteer button does not work as it says it does and I wish it’d get fixed.
sounds like it’s only disabled for Free to play players, is it in fact disabled for everyone?
I’ve been at work so I won’t get to try it until 5pm EST. :P
My only problem is that I’m at work and I’ll miss the first new Shatterer spawn.
There are plant synthesizers in WvW now too?
My hope is around 4pm EST…so I can get home from work and not miss the fun.
3/10 for “Master” as a name. It’s more of a title and boring….but +1 for simpleness I guess.
Also +1 to all the pun names so far.
My necros:
Asura Female: Cryppte
> As in Crypt like where you bury the dead. Her name was originally Death Became Her as launch, but I changed it sometime later to be more in-line with standard Asura naming schemes.
Charr Male: Ghul Doomslash
> Ghul has one of those faces that not even his mother can love. They even had to tie meat around his neck to get the devourers to get near him. He joined the Doom warband and slashes away at his foes.
Sylvari Female: A Woman Thorned
> Because you know a woman thorned is twice as deadly.
Sylvari Female: Hummuscide
> Deadly chickpeas!
Sylvari Female: Bloomin Bunion
> If you’ve never eaten at Outback Steakhouse…it’s a play on “Bloomin Onion”
When you land after having used glider endurance the glider recharge bar stays on the screen until it fully recharges.
I like that, it’s fine.
BUT, it’s too low on the screen and it covers the F5 button for Astral Form on Druid and you can’t click the F5 button at all until the glider recharge goes away.
Please move the glider endurance bar up more so that it doesn’t cover the F5 button.
I thought it depended on how much your guild has upgraded it and that would change what you’re able to get from it. One of my guild has upgraded it pretty far and I have gotten iron from that one.
On the other hand, the new legendaries require nearly 2 stacks of mystic coins (250 for one gift and 230ish for forging clovers), this is nearly 2 years worth of daily login rewards. The influx of these is hard capped per unit time.
This. This right here. I’ve been asking for more ways to get Mystic Coins since it was changed to daily login only. We get less each month now than we did when we had monthlies AND there are even more uses for them now too. Even with two accounts I don’t have nearly enough Mystic Coins to make everything that I’m working on.
Please let me buy Mystic Coins with Spirit Shards. 5 Spirit Shards for one Mystic Coin would be ideal.
Please.
I want that as a glider skin too, but don’t bundle it. Just sell it outright or make it as a reward in-game. I don’t buy bundles no matter how much I like one part of it.
how did you manage to break a single file into 9 pieces? I’m guessing something you did in that process broke your .dat file. Did you not have a large enough drive to transfer the .dat by itself?
You will likely just have to redownload the game.
The problem is that u must kill around 50 chack, when u play in a group it is not easy to get all this killts.
I Made this ac alone and be watching to stay allive.Xan
You don’t have to personally kill all the chak; you just have to be present when they are all killed.
I don’t know if they’d changed it or not, but when I was trying this with my husband & friend we all got the achievements at different times due to not actually tagging enough of them. So unless they changed it, you do have to personally tag each chak for it’s death to count towards your achievement.
And for future reference the “Account Bound” is in reference to the actual recipe sheet, not the learned recipe. That way you can move the recipe sheet to the character that knows that crafting profession.
No, you should be able to get it even if the party owner has the achievement already. I’ve done the story lots of times already (and I main sylvari). I don’t have much time tonight but if you see me on sometime this weekend poke me and I’ll help you out by running that with you.
You can make as many as you like. Just run the story steps again to get the pieces. Your subsequent Mawdrey II that you’ll get shares the amount eaten so you can’t eat more bloodstone dust.
That looks awesome. I can’t wait.
This happened with all of the maps they added hearts/poi/etc to. It has something to do with the bug of not getting map completion rewards for the new zones on characters with 100% map completion. Since it isnt’ exploitable due to the fact that you can’t make a new character and get rewards twice, I doubt this is something they’re worried about.
If I’m not incorrect, the festive golem mini was from the first Wintersday and has remained an exclusive to players who were playing early on.
Even if you were there first year it wasnt’ guaranteed. My husband wanted that one more than any of the others and he never managed to get one. I would have given him mine if I could.
