When I infused some of the old MF rings I had they indeed became account bound and stats were re-selectable. Should be the same for the back piece.

I got it on my guardian by using my elite to make myself invuln to get to the platform.

2: Polls are generally a good idea. Discussion to continue about how they would work?

Places polls could appear
1. In-game popup – immersion breaking but reaches the most number of players
2. In-game icon (top left)- not immersion breaking but easily ignored
3. In-game mail – not necessarily immersion breaking but might just be ignored
4. To our login email address – reaches everyone but easily ignored
5. Login Screen – reaches everyone that plays regularly but unless it is prominent no one will notice it.
6. Forums – You’ll only get people who visit the forums and not a representative group

No matter where the polls go, you will never get a 100% return rate. Making it mandatory is a bad idea and you’ll have to realize the typical return rate on a survey/poll is about 20%. You will also need to hire a statistician or someone trained to sort through the data. Gathering answers is only one step, the results need to be sorted through and analyzed…this is especially important if there will be any free text boxes (rather than just multiple choice).

And finally, post the poll data (raw and analyzed) on the website for all to see.

People like Balkanwarrior make me sad and depressed…..and I’m not even talking about the number of precursors s/he’s gotten. So many exotics, I’m lucky to get one in a week of playing.

I’ve got all of 40g to my name and the journey to get dusk seems impossible.

Chris, thank you for the post. Even if it is a repost, it is important for people of the forums and it seems that many people do not yet fully understand what it takes to put out a gorgeous and functional game. I know there are lots of things I’d love to see in game, but I know they’re not as easy as just adding a line of code here and voila guild management tools or whatever other addition.

Dear Forum Goers…the forums are not the only way the developers and Anet members get our feedback. You might even have a dev or two in your guild and you’d never know it unless they told you. They don’t always tag up while they’re in game. They play the same content as we do and experience many of the same issues. No amount of beta-testing will find every single bug before release and new bugs will emerge once something goes live. They do listen and just because they don’t take your suggestion doesn’t mean they don’t take some of our suggestions.

Personally I want the following in game:
1-Guild management tools. Show last time logged on, last time repped, show what guild a member is repping when not repping my guild.

2-A way to place objects into my home instance. Be able to add my sanctum model to my home instance, wall display of back items earned but I’m not going to wear…make it somewhat like GW1 Hall of Monuments.

3-A unique arena for GvG (so those people will stop whining). Maybe utilize the arena in the black citadel and use the stands as a viewing area where people can mingle and watch.

4-A way to account bound a soulbound item so I can transfer it to an alt. i.e. A crystal from gem store that allows me to move a permanent harvesting sickle from my main to an alt so I can put the new version on my main.

5-A mini pet slot so that I can “equip” a mini on my character that will come out when I enter a new zone or move between land/water.

6-Let me dye my aquabreather and back item. Leave some (like the books) undyeable, but let me change my look a little bit there.

7-Let me craft aquabreathers! We have one recipe for a water filter and it’s only a lvl 20 heavy and masterwork. Give us recipes we can get from vendors in Orr or somewhere with karma. Let us craft rare/exotic/ascended versions.

8-I personally love the zone hearts, but the rewards are a bit lackluster. Maybe start the beginning areas out with a 50c reward and scale up to 10-30 silver for the lvl 80 hearts. Put a few hearts in southsun too while you’re at it. I love that zone and it’s so empty most of the time.

9-More bats and creepy looking armor/weapons. When the designers do start with the next set of legendaries they should be a dark counterpart to the “light” version we have now. We already have Sunrise and Twilight…why not Bifrost and Yggdrasil (which would have a dark shadowy foot-trail, and crow projectiles) and like Sunrise/twilight you can combine the two to form a third legendary that combines the properties of both.

10-The bane of my gaming existence. RNG. While I know RNG will never go away, it is very disheartening when I try and try for something (precursor, weapon claim ticket, etc.) and even after 1000+ tries I end up with empty pockets and empty handed while someone else after 10 tries has three or more of what I was wanting. Sclerite weapons – husband got a ticket on the very first box on the very first day. I bought hundreds of boxes and farmed for more and didn’t get a single one (I cried at the end of the SS event because that was the first weapon skin I really wanted more than anything else). Dragon coffers – husband opened 4200 coffers before getting one weapon ticket. Guildie opens a couple hundred and gets 9 claim tickets. There is a huge disparity here and something needs to be done. I don’t know what, but something.

11- Can we please get the event skins we’ve gotten put into our account skin claim area too? Pretty please? This way my account will have access to the skins I’ve earned (Dragon helm, Wings, fused gauntlets). And then I don’t have to worry about losing a piece….and then people can make a copy for PvP and keep one for PvE. I don’t PvP and don’t care, but lots of people do.

Things I love that you’ve done:
1- While skeptical at first, I love the change with Magic Find. I love it as an account bonus. Still peeved about the lack of clarity regarding the MF armor soulbound/acct bound thing, but I’m over it.

2-The living story – While I don’t love all parts of it and don’t quite see the big picture of the story. I love having new things to do and new achievements to gain.

3-Account rewards for achievement points. Brilliant. Just awesome. Love how I can claim the skins I’ve earned thru my hero panel…love all the rewards.

4-LFG tool. I love it. So easy to use.

In short, thanks for your hard work ANET. I hope you continue to listen to us and implement some of my suggestions (and others from other people too). And try to reply to us just a little more often

I love underwater combat even if my guardian skills underwater do seem a bit lackluster. The biggest issue is that my traits are set for land and if I want to be traited for underwater, then I lose what I have set for on land. We get a separate utility setup for land vs. water, why can’t we have separate trait setup?

More than one underwater elite would be nice too.

You have to love salvaging an exotic with a black lion salvage kit and only getting 2 mithril for your troubles!

natural ebb and flow. Sometimes I go 10 or so rares with just a piece of mithril/silk/log coming from it, and sometimes I get ectos from all of the ones I salvage. Just RNG.

I too love it. The end boss is hard but not impossible. Yeah the knockbacks get annoying after a while, but well timed stability and dodging helps!

I will not miss FW/UP. I love the puzzles and mechanics and this is wonderful.

Goodness people. If they put them in at character creation you’d still be whining & complaining….What about my existing lvl 80 characters, newbies get these styles for free and I have to buy makeover kits. Whaaaah.

Another case of ANET can’t win. I love the new hairstyles and I’m fine with them where they are. It is a cosmetic change. Go play the game and quit complaining about every little thing!

Like I said above. There are exclusive hair colors in the makeover kits, so it only makes sense to have special hair styles there too.

The same goes for the new hair colors. No reason they shouldn’t be exclusive to the makover kits.

I have been playing since March 16th. In the Mystic Forge, thus far, I have gotten:

7 Colossus

I have probably put 3000g worth of items in the forge. To have not gotten one yet from the forge after dropping thousand of gold in the forge is either an utter soul shattering lack of luck or a terrible misunderstanding of the forge.

I kind of hate you and your luck.

I throw stuff into the forge all the time and don’t even want to think about how much gold I’ve wasted only to get exotics worth 1-3 gold and not one single precursor since beta. Yeah, I’m a bit jaded here.

Having spent about 2-3 hours in World 2 zone 2 trying to find every single bauble….even on easy mode with a guide, then finishing off the boss only to find that I must have missed one somewhere or the guide was incomplete; I’m inclined to agree. I want a bauble counter somewhere so I can know that I got them all.

Because really, there are so many baubles to get in the world 2 zones that it takes me forever to get what I think is all of them. Ugh.

Aquatic fractal: I’d like underwater combat improved so that I have a separate trait set underwater like i set a different set of utilities.

Uncategorized: I love this one. The invuln is annoying though!

Dredge: Hate the bomb door path. o.o

Cliffside: This one is just right. I don’t see a problem here. The way we do it is we target one of the two on the first side and that one is not allowed to die. we kill the other smash seal, run to the other side, slaughter, smash seal, charge hammer, run to other side and smash seal and run back. This keeps the mobs on the first side from respawning and makes it so that you only have the one mob there working on the healing of the seal. Goes flawless unless we kitten .

As far as rewards go, I’d like the fractal weapons to be actual skins so we don’t need to use transmutation stones. I"ve so far gotten two fractal skins. The torch (LOVE it) and the pistol…what am I going to do with a pistol…I don’t use a pistol on my guardian…or necromancer. And every thief I’ve ever had got deleted. I do like the randomness of the skins because it does keep the scarce but for the ones I get that hurrr are useless to me, well they’ll sit in my bank til my guardian or necro can use those weapons. XD

Last night on a lvl 26 fractal I got an Assassin’s Ascended Weapon chest. o.o I’m still in disbelief…so something went right with my RNG for once.

Several days spamming right click “join in Sparkfly” with a guildie in main TC Sparkfly, Finally make it to main Sparkfly then there’s a patch we try to stay, commander disconnects, we guest over to IOJ and nearly get him down three times and were going to get him the fourth time and 30 minutes before re-spawn I disconnect and despite me desperately trying to get back in…nope. I’m stuck in overflow. I WANT to help defeat him just once but it’s looking like the only time he can be defeated is if I disconnect and can’t get into the right instance of Sparkfly. Thanks for making me upset all over again with you and your kittening rewards. -_-

1 minute, 5 minutes…something. Yes please. I have a good connection and I finally got into a main instance of Sparkfly to take down Teq and we’d tried three times, gotten close and were going to get him down finally the next try. And I disconnect. I try frantically for the next 20 minutes to get back in with the rest of my party and nothing but overflow because I disconnected. I rage quit for the first time ever. SO angry because I wanted to be able to help take down Tequatl as I’d never gotten to yet despite my server having killed him a number of times already.

Seriously, save my spot for a short time before you give it to someone else.

If you have luck like me….gather resources for all the bits and bobs to make twilight. save gold. buy dusk.

I have been playing since beta and have never seen a precursor drop, not even from the ancient Karka event (and I wound up with two of those chests). I am just not that lucky. Even decked out fully in magic find, I rarely get exotic drops. Heck, I can’t even get into the main server to defeat teq and when I did, I got disconnected just before he popped and they defeated him. >.<

I don’t care how you did it. I’m impressed you managed to get him down in an overflow. Was it organized in such a way that you didn’t have to rely on getting to your home server(s)? Yes…and for that you should be congratulated. Smart, resourceful and organized.

1- Even without guesting if there is a popular event/something going on in a zone you will get stuck with overflows. Not everyone on the entire server can fit in an entire zone…doing that will cause massive problems. Does it suck? Yes. I myself haven’t yet been able to get into the real Sparkfly on TC, but I’ll keep trying.

2- It’s an online game. It happens. Sometimes when a patch hits it happens more often….and more often than not if I’ve recently killed something and I can get back in my loot is still there. If it isn’t, Oh well. It’s a game that’s online that relies on servers and a whole bunch of very intricate coding. There will always be bugs, best to report and move on.

3- yes the suck. I don’t disagree.

4- You don’t need guides to play the game, but if you want all the achievements then you’ll likely want a guide. GW2hub, Dulfy (who I don’t believe is just one person and is likely a personna with a team of people….but that’s a different topic), some other….or figure it out on your own.

5- No one is forcing you. Go for a jog and come back when you feel like playing.

6- Some of us (me) love achievements, if you don’t…then ignore them.

7- Sometimes timegating works, sometimes it doesn’t.

I’m hoping to get into the real Sparkfly tonight so that I can join my people and not the overflow where people lie dead at Teq’s feet for 15 minutes hoping someone will rez them. x-X

I’ve never been able to get the flute to work. Not even the simple 1-2-3 song. I try and it just lights up 1 over and over again despite me pressing 2 or 3 X.X

I tried doing the bauble achievement for W2Z1 with a guide and I did it my myself, finished the zone and zoned into zone 2 and no achievement. I spent over an hour checking & double checking to make sure I got every single bauble…and to not get the achievement. I haven’t tried again.

I have this problem intermittently too. Usually while I’m in a dungeon….sometimes while out in the open world. It’s happened in TA, AC, CM, Fractals and Super Adventure Box (thankfully I hadn’t gotten far as I was doing tribulation mode).

It is frustrating, so very frustrating. My husband and I play together and my game completely freezes & crashes and he’s still there waiting for me. If it was an ISP/Router problem I’d think he’d get dropped too but it is just me.

Tried the Port 80 thing and I still get dropped here and there.

Is it frustrating to come up with a name & someone else has it? Sure, but that just means try again. I personally think it’s awesome that your name is unique across the whole game.

The difficult with water combat is the additional dimension for movement. We lack the controls for it, and therefore feel clumsy and awkward, instead of free. My recommendation would be to add movement/attack skills that directly propel the player vertically.

You can easily set a key to move you down under water. I set mine to “C” so that C goes down, spacebar goes up. Water combat much easier.

I have three Charr. I love them, darned humans deserved what they got for stealing Charr homelands in the first place.

I just hate that the CULTURAL armor has clipping issues. General purpose armor fine, I’ll deal with clipping….but cultural?

My first character during Beta was Charr, and one of my first in pre-launch was Charr. My lady Charr ranger just got her first birthday present….and I gave her a makeover. She’s awesome.

Ghul Doomslash is my second necro and he’s grizzley, scary and awesome.
I just made a Charr mesmer and she is loads of fun too.

The run speed is the same it just feels slow because the animations are weird. Norn feel the same way to me (My main is a norn).

I have some human characters but I don’t play them often….they seem arrogant and are pretty much jerks. :P
