Lost a kittenload of respect for JQ today, namely [SG]. STUN and RET actually ended up having to abandon the new GvG arena because we had a bunch of SG guildies jumping into every round, and harrasing our stacks before it had even started.

I guess we have to stick with the windmill because people can’t grow the kitten up.

My vote goes to BG.

Trolling aside (I troll a lot and say some mean things ) this is a server that has hovered around the top for the longest time. They have a core group of guilds who have kept the server at the top in WvW for the longest time. Oh, and that pride. Of course, there is #magswag, but the ammount of hashtags applicable to BG is unmatched.

Their roamers are also some of the best and most coordinated. When the mid-tier servers call T1 zerg trash, it is the might of RIOT and oPP that really show off their small man might to a level that just makes them unmatched. The RGs of the roaming world.

First to kill Teq, and clear winner of season one WvW. BG deserves my thumbs up.

If I were to pick a second, I would pick Maguuma. I server which I can respect, AGAIN, trolling aside. A server that doesn’t care about winning or losing. They care about the fights and having fun. Some kitten good roamers too, and all around just an amazing mindset to be for a WvW server. Thumbs up.

Well yeah, you know, it is hard being the good guy when this is all happening… It sucks, totally. But I mean, we here at SoR have worked hard and tirelessly to collect that fruit. I mean, your mind cannot even fathom the amount of effort our server goes into cultivating our orchards. Pruning, picking, getting the beas in. Blood sweat and tears, man. You’ve probably never done an honest days work in your liife. You don’t know us.

Big shoutout to Retribution for zerging roaming around the ruins with a small tactical squad of 10 people buffed up with 25 bloodlust, 5 guard leech and 5 defence against guard and yet still losing downs and stomps to singular players and small groups. You guys must be extremely proud of yourselves.

Is it really something to ridicule someone over, though? I commend you for your ability to get some downs even when outnumbered, but if you really want a fair fight to the point you feel like illustrating this to your fellow players than feel free to start doing more sPvP. WvW is inherently unfair and that’s the beauty of it.

I beat people in outnumbered fights all the time, and at the same time I lose when I’m in a group with majority numbers all the time as well. The difference is I don’t have to inflate my ego onto the forums to let loose my kitten tyvm.

RET have some amazing and highly experienced players and you should be thankful to have met them on the battlefield.

BG never kept it a secret that our main guilds are taking a break that week so they can get fully rested for the season. It’s not BG’s fault when some people don’t believe what we said and use our performance that week as a measure of our strength and decide their strategy in week1….shrug

Our ques last night werent too long for BG.. but i can tell you that every fight we had last night and over the early morning hours, im looking at you merc!, we were out numbered and still had some amazing and fun fights. The night finished for me when we took hills on bgbl from JQ from merc. I’d like to give a shout out to guild Ph of SoR for ganking 3-4 random mag people with no comms in the middle of duels on 3 separate occasions with a 5-6 person organized group, and getting completely wiped every time.

In regards to the post of Choo having 25… that does actually look like ~25, the fact that they are stacked on the gate makes the names look like mumbo jumbo.

If you had 16 and wiped to 25… whats so bad about that? You dont get better by outnumbering your opponent all the time… If you downed half of them or even killed some you did a good job…

1) 3-4 random Mag were dueling some random SoR at island. Ok you following me?

2) 5-6 Ph from SoR show up, veil and and gank Mag players who are in the middle of dueling. Ok still with me?

3) 5-6 Ph wipe to 3-4 Mag players who had lack of CDs from being in the middle of 1v1s. Ok got it? I’m moving on to next point.

4) Mag players laugh at Ph for being god-awful.

I think your first problem was dueling on noob island.

Personally, I have respect for duelists wherever they are on the map (depending on guild tag), but I think a player has to respect the fact that that place is open game. Really, it’s like dropping your soap in the prison showers then looking around doing a lil’ twerk.

Well done on your guys triumph though. It does feel empowering when spike a group of guys trolololing your duels.

To accomplish that we have to get over the STACK TO WIN mentality which JQ, SOR and BG are all equally guilty of. And it’s not so much in the hands of the server leaders but the guilds who come to gold league.

It’s something to think about.

The problem is that the result you’re expecting won’t happen. Excluding maybe TC, transfers… realistic transfers to any of these servers will not yield any greater competition. That’s how great the difference is between T1 and T2.

You’re working on the assumption that reasonably sized guilds are moving to NA servers, so hey, lets balance T2 / Gold.

The guilds, however, are thinking. “We are transferring to Gold, where should we go?”

And the factors dictating that decision all favour T1.

Which is a problem!

T1 is competitive among the 3 but leave the at least 3 other servers out to dry and the argument coming from them is stack up or go home. T1 has no real interest in competition; their only focus is on this absurd arms race where one of them tries to recruit enough people that they can just sit back and face-roll. The way t1 conducts itself is bad for the game and bad for the community long-term.

To think “realistically it won’t happen” is a real cop-out imo. I’m sure if you think like you do it seems like a bit too much math. And speaking for EU, you’d be surprised at the presence one guild can have. And this becomes a foundation for more guilds!

Because you can’t stack the same 3 servers forever. Guilds going to the other three gold tiers is incredibly viable, and it just takes a bit of faith and a tonne of bravery.

Because they can’t…

No single guild can move to T2 or less Gold League and suddenly make 5 servers able to compete with T1.

On the other hand, before Leagues, anyone could move into T1 and be in competitive environment immediately. Now there’s only a likelihood of being regularly matched with a T1 server, which is ANet’s fault more than it is any server or guild.

Even if WM, IRON and every other major guild transfer since BG hit T1 came together before they even transferred and decided to divide themselves among the top 6 or 8 (excluding current T1), it still wouldn’t be as competitive (and in some cases not competitive at all ie. Kaineng) as T1 was last week.

Balancing the top 6 (as some people wanted before Leagues) requires too many people to do too much.

edit: this is speaking from an off-hours pov where guilds had to previously risk there being dead match-ups due to the unpredictability of the match-ups. With leagues, we know who we are going to face so imo is a lot more viable for OCX, SEA, and EU guilds to move to the other servers and not so much “the 3 big titans”.

Yes ZaDrots move is not permanent, we are playing for fun and we had no fun playing vs queues. During league myself i spent around 15 hours in queues total.

Yeah, that one’s a no brainer. Several top EU guilds have come to NA for a holiday if you will, dropping the wodka for some bourbon (haha good one). Obviously that’s not a bad thing for the season though as their presence on the field is pretty noticeable.

It’s guilds like this that come into the NA scene and pretty much teach other guilds on here how to play, although probably not as profoundly as You-Know-Who did when they came.

Looking forward to spectating some GvGs if that stuff still exists.

On a different note I feel like commenting on a lot of the tears and trolling that has come with ZDs coming, but honestly, 3-4 pages overnight? Nobody got time for that!

PPT aside, and I can only speak for Oceanic/SEA time but WTF is up with BG just running away from fights?

Aside from us forcing the fight on you guys (in the keeps) every open field fight is pretty much you taking off in a different direction. The few that we do get it’s pretty much due to you having a wall or something to stand behind. I would’ve said you were waiting on superior numbers to attack, but even that’s not the case.

If your new tactic is to bore the few SoR players that we can muster up in Oceanic time to leave the map so you can PvD, it’s working pretty well.

I also commanded SoRBL last night for a shortish period during OCX last night. I had about 5-8 KnT and 10-15 militia at various times, and we were deliberately trying to hold the 35-45 SoR force on the map so BG could cap elsewhere. This was part of the cross-map effort to make up for the PPT monstering we received on the weekend.

This did involve teasing the SoR zerg (at North SC, NW tower,. around NW ruins and outside Bay) and then WPing or withdrawing – while BG capped upgraded stuff on other BLs.

So it wasn’t so much a tactic to ’bore" SoR players into leaving the map, it was a strategy to hold SoR players unproductively on a map with the tantalising promise of easy wipes.

PPT aside, and I can only speak for Oceanic/SEA time but WTF is up with BG just running away from fights?

Aside from us forcing the fight on you guys (in the keeps) every open field fight is pretty much you taking off in a different direction. The few that we do get it’s pretty much due to you having a wall or something to stand behind. I would’ve said you were waiting on superior numbers to attack, but even that’s not the case.

If your new tactic is to bore the few SoR players that we can muster up in Oceanic time to leave the map so you can PvD, it’s working pretty well.

I also commanded SoRBL last night for a shortish period during OCX last night. I had about 5-8 KnT and 10-15 militia at various times, and we were deliberately trying to hold the 35-45 SoR force on the map so BG could cap elsewhere. This was part of the cross-map effort to make up for the PPT monstering we received on the weekend.

This did involve teasing the SoR zerg (at North SC, NW tower,. around NW ruins and outside Bay) and then WPing or withdrawing – while BG capped upgraded stuff on other BLs.

So it wasn’t so much a tactic to ’bore" SoR players into leaving the map, it was a strategy to hold SoR players unproductively on a map with the tantalising promise of easy wipes.
