BG definitely has the best SEA coverage right now, compared to JQ and SoR. BG has huge zergs on every map. CA, Urge, ND, ND, WM, MERC, XF, Meow and PuGs.

No wonder conflicts often happen between HIRE and MERC. Both of you never stop making crude/rude/egotistical remarks towards each other. Hey, its guy from my mules server matchup thread.
The truth is that JQ could absorb most of one of the “T2” servers WvW population, and not have more players in WvW than BG or SOR. Why do you think my mule account is in low tiers? It’s because fighting 10 vs 800 isnt fun. So if Im playing off hours, its where I dont have to fight 50 people by myself, because pretty much everyone on bg/sor are zerglings and cant do anything without superior numbers, and fighting those blobs without even coming close to half their numbers isnt fun.

I guess large scale PvP is not so much mechanical involving (as you might be simply referring to as “skill”) but to be successful at this game takes high amount of organisation — before the fight and during. Now, your APM might not be too useful here, but to simply go and say this is all ezmode I guess shows your level of understanding of WvW.

I think I might take a break from WvW (or gaming for that matter) , the amount of malicious hostility I feel expressed daily by other servers and even several servermates has just turned me off Guild Wars.

Hello Aneirin,

BG is now the only server in tier 1 that can muster their vaguard oceanic and sea forces to hit EU timing. Most of the forces in JQ and SOR are unable to do that. Prior to the arrival of IRON, WM was dominating EU time zone for almost 2 weeks straight. This might not seem like much but to play from 12am to 6am requires a whole different level of discipline from the organized guilds.

What Fann was trying to liiustrate was that WM’s 2 week pushes into EU coverage really did a woosy on the way that we play the game. They’re a SEA guild but were able to stay up late and stretch out their play time to PvDoor and take some awesomely high PPT. Now, you might say “why couldn’t SoR do the same thing” and the answer to that is that why should they? I’m not sure if BGs expected reply for us was to tell our OCE/SEA guilds to pull in the long hours, but I guess that’s something that they probably were not prepared to do for the game.

I’ll give you a IRL example of this. In NZ there was a debacle (still going on) between local builders and migrant builders from China. NZ builders worked their 9-5 during the weekdays and didn’t work weekends. On the other hand the migrant builders were prepared to work overtime and go right through the weekend and were even able to provide cheaper rates. Now, there was no way that the NZ builders could compete with this and to do that would be to change their entire work culture which is a HUGE ask.

The SoR answer to the PvDoor from the overtime became IRON — or more correctly, IRON were looking for a new home and SoR provided what IRON wanted which may have been lacking over in EU.

This was looked down upon by both BG and JQ to what I say what would have happened if we didn’t get any EU? Did you want us to ask our OCE/SEA to make sacrifices just to compete with you guys? Is this a meta that you ACTUALLY wanted to impose onto us?

There is def people that do that trust me someone in my guild has stayed up for 4 days strait, he also has 7 legendaries to show for because of the long hours he plays and someone else in my guild has 11 legendaries. Not sure if she stays up late but assuming she does.

If they find that a fulfilling way to spend life, good on them. I just wasn’t impressed by the personal tone of Jahns post, in that it made an assumption that I am unemployed and play games 20 hours per day. I have 2 jobs, and go to uni full time – since the holidays have started a lot of people including myself have more free time and a few of us chose to play games for whatever reason. Knock off the statements about RL unless you actually have a clue.

Now I challenge All of SoR to follow in the foot steps of the FEAR Leader and Push those people out of your server. When you see it happening walk away form the tower ( yeah it sucks ) but your proving a point. Let him/them die don’t help him/them, make him/them feel un-welcomed.

By sitting there and participating in the taking of a tower or keep when you know someone is specifically doing this then you are also no better than the person exploting and by proxy you too are exploiting. Personally if I was the #1 Server or even #2 and or #3 The last thing I would want going around is that my server uses exploits and glitches to win.

Well then I urge your server to walk away from a tower/keep when you see someone using any AC hack (Don’t even deny that some on your server do). Just keep in mind that it’s not as easy to see if someone on your server is using AC hacks.

Believe it or not, it is usually individuals who do this. Now, with SoR in the spotlight it was very easy to point fingers, but I HAVE noticed it by both BG and JQ so don’t think your kitten smells like roses my friend and I make the exact same plea to both servers:

If you see someone exploiting in anyway, back off. At least Kaimack has had the mangoods to come up front about what has happened where mostly the whole exploitation debate is pretty much “NO YOU DID IT. NOOO YOU DID IT”.

The fact that you think this is just a problem that involves SoR is very ignorant. I’ve seen some pretty prominent WvW guilds commit exploits many of whom would be in complete disbelief as most guilds in this game are apposed to exploiting.

If people believe this to be a problem then they’d try and be as civil as possible about and avoid picking up the pitchfork as in a situation where all parties have the possibility to be involved I believe that it is highly hypocritical.

But you’re going to get some great fights. Sometimes server lag from full map zergs fighting each other will make you wish you were in t8, but honestly, you’re going to get some prime pvp action.

@Offski we do not dominate Oceanic timeslot, MERC logs in with 10-20 during Oceanic and we are instantly fighting full map zergs of HiRE, NYS, AFS and uplate NA guilds. We logged in last week, starting 20/30mins later than 5pm East Coast time and we had lost our garrison twice, don’t give me that bull kitten about us dominating Oceanic, we fight an uphill battle outnumbered every night and push through into Euro time slot because we want our NA to inherit something that you don’t pvdoor it all.

EDIT: The only reason we change servers is when fights become stale / scarce. It doesn’t seem like this will be the case on JQ anytime soon.

Well, see, instead of taking guilds from other servers, we were like, hey, let’s just hire an entire server to fight with us. Nobody has to spend money on transferring and it gets around the map queue issue quite well.

Clearly SoR’s success has nothing to do with transfers, all core guilds,

HiRe, Tysm, Ocx, AFS, TW, IRON, SAHP etc SBI, Desolation, IoJ, SoS

At the moment regardless of how you flip the coin, SoR has Late EU/NA EST advantage which allows them to push in BG weak zone, full cap things then plant 80mans on the walls, not that hard to do. We did that to JQ back on SoS, wasn’t because JQ SEA wasn’t beastly it was because we could prepare zones for FoO logging in and we knew how to defend them.
