In the Prisoner’s of the Dragon quest, my game keeps on crashing after I destroy the last cell.

What happens if, much like the glyphs, the Tempest warhorn weapon skills were the same between all attunements, and only changed slightly based on attunement? And they shared the same cooldown…

Imagine if that happened! OMG, did I jinx it?

I get a lot of what you guys are saying. Like, as someone who also plays ranger the same thoughts go into my head. Part of taking PM over EB was purely testing it out, and it just… worked. I’m not too much of a pen-and-paper kind of player, and the build kind of came around with just trying out new things. Which is kind of the reason why I said it was difficult for me to explain why PM was working, because it just did. The more I play it, however, the easier it becomes for me to explain it further then just yapping “omg it just works guys trustinmeeee”.

You guys are right, with three ways to apply poison in the build, you have a pretty decent upkeep, but I wouldn’t call it guaranteed or totally aggressive. On SB I’m not always PB or willing to go balls deep just to apply it. And sword and dagger, sure, the duration is long enough, but y’know, sometimes it doesn’t always stick, and the extra poison, although seemingly faceroll, just adds that extra bit of guarantee that that it is going to stick. (ps, I think it’s been discussed on here but spider actually ruin poison dps, like, it ticks at 80, and I play better with wolf and raven).

And the argument about survivability, as I said, I find that with the three ways I have equipped, I tend to survive just fine. Of course, there are going to be situations where I’m going to wish I had traited EB, but in the matches I’ve been able to handle well without it, and although the DPS gain is seemingly low (one bleed stack), it’s a condie, it adds up, and even if someone cleanses it, it pops right back on. Alongside the bleedstacking (with krait runes, is really stupid).

And if you think SoR needs to be traited to be good, then godkitten . It’s a stunbreak AND a full condie cleanse (considering your pet is alive and near you). Sure, it’s a long cd, but with the pressure that you’re exerting, I find it’s more than enough. And healing spring cleansing is actually really good. And generosity can change a fight. Why SoR over L.reflex? Because I like to stay on point sometimes. And I’m certain SoR is fairly standard on Ranger in spvp. Maybe CD signet trait instead of keen edge… I’ll give it a whirl!

But that’s just what I think. I respect people enough that they might not like it, and obviously it won’t be everyones cup of tea.

+ @kiwituatara, using PM doesn’t equal “PM>EB”. Do not put words in my mouth.

I’ve been using this trap ranger build since the feature patch which I have been enjoying a lot. I only really use the build in spvp, but I’m sure it could have some application outside of it (wvw roamin, duelling, so fourth).

Essentially, it’s a standard as kitten trap ranger with some minor tweaks, namely the use of krait runes (which I think most people who run bleed rangers should be running as they’re rather OP) and switching out the seemingly core EB for Poison Master because of its ability to turn you into a major boss.
Really, it’s just the same old trap ranger build you see around, and it plays identically. No difference. Nada. Zip. Just the changes add that nice touch of DPS.

KRAIT RUNES

This rune is great – most people know this. Bleeds bleeds bleeds. All day. All night. They don’t stop. They just make bleed stacking that much more potent and deadly. If you’re not using this rune and you like bleeding people, than you should promptly change to this rune. Please. Don’t listen to the enemy team.

WHY POISON MASTER OVER EB?

I don’t know how to explain it in too much detail, but I find that with the kit I have a decent amount of condition cleanses outside the trait to keep me alive in fights (heal, SoR, Sigil of Generosity). I still can cleanse more than an engie and can prance around like a prick against necros. And the positives of poison master are just super-duper cool. You get a ton of poison anyway so you pretty much have around 5 ways to apply poison now (permanenenenent nearly kind of), so gg warriors. And I mean, you’re a trap ranger – most people should be hobbling towards you after being ambushed by your spikes and flames, so really, all you’re doing is finishing the job!

But yeah, talk about the build~ Try it out~ Tell me if you’re already using something similar~ What to improve~ Call me a scrub for even CONSIDERING PM. Whatever. Us rangers got to stick together.

You’d be surprised at the raw damage condi builds can do, I’m dire/apoth and my hard hiting skills like fire grab still reach 2,5-3k crits, never really had a problem with diamond skin.

To your other point, don’t really think it’s a training wheels build, it may have more defensive stats, but you may find yourself being very ineffective damage wise if you don’t know how and when to apply your conditions. The main difference I see in burst and condi ele comes to the flow of the battle, burst requires you to be fast, condi requires patience, a thief may not take me down to 25% hp instantly but due to the nature of my damage he may have many other opportunities to burst me or reset the battle. Thinking you’ll be very tanky as ele with def stats is just as wrong as thinking you’ll burst everything down instantly with power/crits.

From experience, it’s usually easy to keep up diamond skin with usual ele healing nonsense, so even with your “burst” can still easily keep it up. And applying conditions as a condi ele is sooooo easy. I mean, drakes breath. Soo easy. I will stand, no, shout out, that condi ele is simple to play compared to power builds and incredibly forgiving. Nobody DARE tell me it isn’t, or I’ll judge you. Anybody diligent in their cleansing usually have a better time fighting them, but still.

I’d go as far as to say that any player struggling with ele in someway or another (dying all the time, new to the game) to play condition. Like, it hoenstly feels like training wheels in a lot of regards. You have soooo many defensive stats thanks to condition gear having that certain affinity. Like, go dire and apothacary and you heal like no tomorrow, and it’s so simple to 2v1. A lot of eles have long disagreed it being a valid way to the class, but I think many would regard it as cheap (myself included).

Power is a heck of a lot more fun though (aside from watching a poor guy melting away to them condies) and, seriously, a hell of a lot more rewarding.

But if too many of you start to run it, I will be running diamond skin. So watch the kitten out!

Koko is a great person and a great player, as is his guild. Seriously, if you’re SEA and you’re looking for a good, tight havoc squad, LOLI is for you!

Bredin’s build is IMO one of the strongest ranger roaming builds out there. Seriously, I’m surprised this build isn’t more popular. It’s so much more fun those condi BM bunker builds and a lot more affective then those glassier builds.

Honestly, if you’re a ranger and you feel desperately under powered then give this build a go. And trust me, you’ll be able to take on most people in WvW with it.

Serane no1 ele.

Everyone’s allowed to criticize. I can vouch for his play. He’s really good and easily one of the best eles out there. Dunno if THE best, as it’s a big world, but yeah. He’s good. I think it’s easy to point kitten out, but chances are everyone one of us makes those mistakes in the heat of the moment, but as you’ll see, it’s not how you land your burst but how to not get wombo combo’d by the other guy. I think Serane has a good understanding of the ele and other classes and plays on those ideas.

Issue: When I equip the Mask of the Silent, the top part of my boot dissapears. This happens to all boots I have tried, and for this example I’ll be showing the Ascended Boots. It has happened ever since I purchased the Mask a few days ago. I can usually fix it by changing my dye colours but will randomly dissapear, and will also diosspear if I change maps.

I bought the Mark of the Silent skin on the 5th and when I put it on my character part of his boots went away.

I really like the look of the mask and it’s kind of lame that this bug exists

It’s kind of out of nowhere. I provided some screenshots of my wearing the mask and deselecting it.

Mask on = Top of boots dissapear.
Mask off = Everything is fine.

If I change the colour of my boots while wearing the mask usually the bug goes away but comes back later on.

I heard that there are quite a few SG folks in JQ and there’s a good community in JQ (and BG) but when I feel frustrated I weigh all the good times and bad times, I realized that the folks I play with on SOR have become friends, friends that I would gladly go to the next wvw game with.

The NA, Ozzie/NZ, SG, Korean, HK, Taiwan and many more folks that populate the TS every night, they make SOR fun. Even Scypy.

All have great 5-10mans.

And sometimes each group type meets the wrong group.

The points I make are purely of my own home timezone, oceanic, which I dubbed blobceanic due to its bloated nature of it. NA is a lot more dynamic now with smallman guilds, as are SEA and EU (of course EU, they’re the father of the smallman).

Hey guys, I got a response from a ticket about this and I was told I should use the in-game reporting system. Y’know, that awkward one where you go to report someone for hacking of some sort, but you end up clicking either botting or spamming because neither actually support the report you want to make. But I was told that this goes directly to the team involved in dealing with these sorts of issues. Felt a bit weird though, as the video I sent in had the dude sending an in-game report…. so go figure!

You’ll recall that, when we were talking about this decision, I said this would happen.

So, to answer your question: you know why and you were warned about it.

1) So it’s okay for BG to offer MERC to go there from SoS but suddenly a big stab to the back when JQ does the same thing?

2) What negative impacts? The impacts I saw were beneficial to the tier as a whole.

3) Again, why should he? He said his farewells and was only met by cruel and harsh criticism by his ex-server mates AFTER he had put in the most effort out of ANY MERC commander, if not a top contributor on your server, and would fight everyday even if he wiped. He didn’t rage log like some other MERC commanders (it was obvious from the other side).

4) … a reputation which has only become so pungent through constant moaning almost 2 months after said transfer occurred.

5) It’s Dorian Gray. Spelling an iconic character name wrong from a prominent Victorian era novel just makes you look silly.

Won’t happen. Not with BG losing some guilds(mainly ZDS) and SoR gaining quite a bit of guilds in a week or two.

Contrary to popular belief, ZDs leaving (if they decide to, keep in mind) won’t be enough to effect Blackgate. Winning week 1 without MERC together and with ZDs still in their home server meant that Blackgate was strong enough as it was. The times that ZDs came on were time slots that had queues. Blackgate’s interest in WvW has only grown in the past weeks with all the chest bumping, we will only a dull a bit.

I do hope SoR stays in Tier 1, I haven’t heard anything about other guilds coming in so that is refreshing to hear.

I think week one of the first season was more an example of strategy. Coming into the first season BG looked to be the third wheel. Now, I don’t know how long you’ve been in T1, but usually the 3rd wheel tends to be the lucky guy who really gets to pick who he wants to help. What was different however was that all three servers really were quite balanced in coverage. Some had their super times but it all balanced out in a way that 1st and 3rd were never more than 10k out of each other.

What won BG that first week win was the change of double teams onto JQ (a double team many of who thought was impossible). JQ was undeniably the favourite to win and they managed to come third because of clever map politics. I think without ZDs BG has what it takes to take on SoR, but it might be slightly different with JQ

Contrary to BG popular belief, losing ZDs wil be a hit nonetheless. In saying that, BG will still be strong, but don’t count them out of having such a profound affect on the season and the BGs victory of it, because that’s just silly!
