it seems strange to me that this topic isn’t getting more attention. i’m extremely disappointed that ascended stuff is account bound. it was pretty annoying with jewelry being forced to do fractals to get the rings (before the laurel vendor) and now anyone who wants an ascended weapon will have to level their own crafter. i guess it just goes along with the rest of the theme of this game where you don’t need anyone else to do anything….it’s the MMO you play by yourself

I would love to be able to jump in to WvW on whatever char I feel like playing that day but character bound WXP ruins that. If I don’t feel like playing my main WvW char I find myself logging off rather than playing one of my others.
This makes no sense. WXP abilities make hardly any difference in gameplay. In DAoC high realm rank characters were extremely powerful, yet people still played alts for lots of reasons, not the least of which was the satisfaction of progressing through the ranks again.

WXP is character progression after level 80. if you want WXP account bound, why not ask for levels to be account bound too?

The map is the least of my concerns. The game itself is stale and the entire WvW ruleset doesn’t lend itself to strategic play, variety, or ‘fun’. While a great deal of the issues we’re seeing with zerging and stale gameplay is a result of the maps themselves, any new map will be boring within a few months too if something isn’t done to make WvW exciting again.
2 things i think would help with this:
1) the maps need to be waaaaay bigger. this would make it so zergs couldn’t dominate the map. the maps need to be at least big enough so that you couldn’t treb a keep/tower from the safety of another keep/tower. something like 10 minutes to run from edge to edge rather than 2 would be good imo.
2) WXP rewards need to be a set amount divided among the number of people capturing the objective (or killing the player). this would encourage smaller group action because smaller groups would get more wxp per player than larger ones for the same objective.

zergs: wxp needs to be divided among those taking the objective, not just the same static # no matter how many people are involved. same with killing a player. (e.g. a towe could be worth 3000wxp. if 10 people take the tower, they all get 300wxp. if 20 people take it, they each get 150wxp, etc.)
guilds: it would be really REALLY helpful to be able to see what guild has claimed an objective. guild tag on the guards/lord and a tooltip/guild emblem/tag on the world map would both be good. also guilds should get some alert in guild chat when their keep/tower is under attack.

pretty much everything works through gates, which is dumb. when they said catapults would no longer be able to damage rams though gates i thought maybe they meant they had fixed all aoe/damage/interaction through gates, but apparently not.

Not to derail the topic, but are these coming from just from the daily bonus chest? or the physical chest? or both? Since the update I’ve gotten 2 exotics and both were from the bonus chest. I’ve gotten extra rares from the physical chest, but never exotics.

Decided to Gamble abit yesterday so bought 4 lvl 76 exotic axes and threw Into the forge. . Boom i saw a skinn i never seen before and i realised i actually got the frostfang precursor

well, since you threw 4 axes in it would have been impossible to get dusk or dawn, since those are greatswords. if you throw in 4 of a kind, you get back the same kind.

Uhm I don’t think the grawl attacking the camp is the first event in the chain. You need to clear out the grawl place with the marks on the walls and sacrificial offerings at the heart of corruption PoI to start the grawl attacking the camp.
Unless it happens to be a coincidence that every time I solo clean out that area, the grawl camp pre-event gets triggered.
That may be the case, but there’s no “event” associated with clearing out the walls/offerings either as far as I’ve seen.

according to the wiki there are 6 events preceding the boss, not 4, and once it starts the whole chain finishes in less than 5 minutes, so the “grawl attack not starting because another event in the chain is not running” doesn’t make any sense, unless there are other events linked to this that we don’t know about.

I have 3 80’s. Literally all I was doing was farming the big events all day.
With the new change we’ll still get plenty of rares… Let’s count…

9. Free Harathi chest
10. Free Cursed Shore chestRight there that’s still at least 10+ rares per day just on those events. That’s 70+ rares per week just for doing the events listed. There are others as well but these are the easiest 10.
I think we can all live with this.Where exactly are these free chests? I went to one that I thought was the Harathi chest and got a low level rare when I opened it. I haven’t even heard of a cursed shore chest. What is that one?

i said decrease in extra rares. i’ve been doing 20+ chests a day and i would say at least 1/4 of those have given me 2-3 rares. So if after this update I start getting all greens/blues like it was before, and just the one rare daily, then no i won’t be farming them on multiple toons.
but if I continue to get extra rares and exotics outside of the daily chest, then yes i will farm on alts. At this point it’s just wait and see i guess.

It does not address the glaring issues that will still be present.

If they are worried about the economy, they should be working on some desirable gold sinks that players are begging for. New weapons, armor, skins, mini-pets, pets, etc. People will sink their gold into oblivion for some good content.
Give Megadestroyer and other unique bosses, some kind of unique armor & weapons that are rare drops… People love hunting for the rare weapons & armor.
We needed creative solutions not uninspired ones.

Obviously it was a lot easier to code a daily chest, but another way to cut down on the excessive number of rares coming into the market would be to make the pre-event chains much longer, and have them scale to the number of players properly as well so that there was a real possibility of the pre-events failing (like the balthazar and arah chains).
This would have the side effect of nerfing the ability to track boss spawns via the timer (notice how the temple timers are almost always outdated) so there would be fewer people camping bosses and thus less problems with overflows.
Taking it a step further they could tie the chest to pre-event participation, so you could only get a chest from the boss if you participated in the pre-events.

As I read the statement you will still get one rare/per boss/per account. If this this is true they will still be farmed, which is good, but just wont have people getting…I don’t know…30+ rares per day. This is a good change.
That is indeed correct. You will get one guaranteed rare drop per boss per account per day. You still have the chance to get pre-cursors/exotics/rares from the regular dragon chests every time you play an event. It is just the guaranteed rare drop that has been restricted.
does this statement imply that precursors can only drop from the dragon chests? I thought there was a chance from any world boss now.

I always deposit and withdraw from my vault in whole gold values only, never silver/copper. Twice in the last few days I’ve noticed the amount of coin in my vault is not a round gold amount, but a seemingly random gold/silver/copper number. Both times it has been just a few silver/copper less than the amount I remember being there.

Too many to count since the world boss chest buff. I got 2 today. A couple days ago I got an exotic off a player in WvW. Looking back through my sold items history on the BLTP it looks like I’ve gotten > 20 in the last month.
Before the world boss chest buff, I think I had probably gotten < 10 exotic drops (not counting map completion) since release.

yeah, i miss the alliance system from DAoC. it made being in a tiny guild not feel so isolated.
As for how it could work: since we can already be in multiple guilds, maybe when the guild leader made an alliance, it automatically made everyone in each guild a member of of the alliance guild, and opened up a chat channel so that you could talk to alliance guilds without representing.
Then when one guild need help with a guild mission, they could send out the call on the alliance channel, and anyone in the alliance could easily switch to representing that guild since they’re already members via the alliance.
