I guess I’ll add my voice to the megathread. I’m in a very small (25 person) guild, and right now only about 7 are active in GW2. Maybe once a week we get 5 people on at the same time, but usually it’s 3-4.
Last Sunday we finally unlocked the guild bounties, and decided to try one. We tried 3 times and failed each time. The first two times, we couldn’t even find the mobs within the 15 minutes. The third time we found one of the mobs with 1 minute left.
With so few people, it’s impossible to use the large guild method of locating all the mobs before activating the bounty.
Also, before someone says just do dungeons since your guild is barely even able to field one group, we would gladly stick to dungeons if the new ascended accessories were available there.
Because there are unique rewards that are tied to the guild missions, they should be doable by guilds of ALL sizes, imo.

they should definitely NOT make the chests 1 per day per account, but they should make it 1 per day per character game wide. This would eliminate guesting to farm more chests, which would greatly help with the lag, as well as somewhat decreasing the number of rares coming into the game.

the drop rate is great now. it should have been like this from the beginning. the only change i’d like to see is make these boss events more challenging, and less laggy. right now the lag is so bad all i can manage to do is autoattack, and the bosses die in literally seconds.

yeah it has always been around for big SM battles, but it seems like it’s gotten worse throughout the zone after the last patch.

i was just using the dragon fights as an example of an obvious post patch issue. i don’t really care about dragon fights since i can just stand there and autoattack and still get credit….that doesn’t fly in WvW.
We’ve had skill lag (not FPS lag) in big SM fights since launch, but I was just saying it seems worse now, and more random. I’m getting skill lag in small man fights in the corners of the zone now, not just in a 3 way in SM.

+1’d. i was pretty bummed to see they added yet another new currency with the guild missions. I don’t understand why they don’t do ascended gear like they did exotic? that was perfect. you could get it through WvW, crafting, karma, or dungeons. now we have to do one thing to get one piece, and something completely different to get another piece. not psyched

they should redo the WvW maps to be like DAoC New Frontiers: one big zone where you can only zone into your own borderland, and have to run through eternal bg (agramon) to get to the other servers’ borderlands.
and make them bigger so roamers have room fight without being in the path of a keep taking zerg.

I have 100g in the bank, but this sale prompted me to spend $20 on gems, which is the first time i’ve spent any $ on this game since i purchased it. As far as i’m concerned, I’ve saved about $70 over the last 6 months compared to a traditional sub based MMO.

you can only get ecto from salvaging level 70+ rares and exotics (which is where all the ones on the TP are from). imo the best way to get them is to run CoF and use the tokens to buy the 30 token rare armor and salvage it.
also it sucks there’s no mist dagger

HAHAHAHAHAHA…. the precursors rise much faster than most peoples’ gold income. You can have all the self control on the world and NEVER reach the price of a precursor unless you’re a basement dwelling NEET or abusing the cash shop liberally.
Wrong on so many levels. If you do any of the current gold farms you can easily make 50g a day. Are you saying that Precursors are increasing by 50g a day, because I sure don’t see that.
If by “a day” you mean 24 hours, sure. but since I only play about 3-4 hours/day, I make about 50g/week.

it doesn’t matter what you do if there are a lot of people doing the event. you’re never going to do enough damage solo to get loot.
group up, and your loot chance is based on the damage contribution of the whole group (as long as you tag the mob).

just remember if you sell on the TP to somebody offering the same as vendor price, you’re netting 15% less than if you just vendored the item.

Grouping does let you keep track of everyone. Try running with Guildies or friends w/out grouping. Its pretty easy to lose each other in this game.
Sure, and that is helpful no doubt. I do like that you can track the progression of other people in your party. But I still don’t understand why you don’t get group credit for completing objectives. It’s not like the mechanic is something new and they simply don’t have the resources it’s being intentionally left out and I really want to know: Why? It just doesn’t seem to fit with everything else in the game.
imo the answer to this pretty straightforward: it’s to combat botting and powerleveling. if people could get credit for stuff by being grouped without actually contributing (by tagging/doing damage/etc) then powerleveling bot groups would be rampant, like they are in other games.
aside from that, the one HUGE reason to group is for loot credit. credit for loot seems to be based on the whole party’s damage contribution, so in a dynamic event zerg, you really can’t get any loot solo even though you can contribute enough to get event credit. by grouping, you get credit for every mob you tag based on the total damage of your group to that mob.
in other words, grouping is essential in Orr if you want more than just karma.

If you have enough skill points and karma sitting around to make two gifts, there’s no reason you should be short on gold.
i’ve made 1 gift of mastery and could make another right now, but i only have 160g, which is about 1/10 what i will need to make a legendary.
that said i don’t agree with the OP. the aspects of the game that go into the gift of mastery should not be sellable imo.

Totally agree. Why waste the time to add a new item to the game if its exactly the same as another one? Just have the laurel vendor sell 10 wines for 10 laurels….bam. Same effect as the 10 mystic binding agents. Well. Glad someone took one for the team and bought them, so I won’t have to waste mine….
agreed. but then again the whole laurel system is redundant in the first place. they could have just used one of the other 16 existing currencies in the game…

That is why there is an option to buy it on the outpost.
If you hardcore grind for a day, you make 50g. That’s about two weeks worth of hardcore farming, and maybe a month and a half of regular play.
Or if you’re feeling lucky, go gamble.
Except my original argument is that the market is dry. There are no more to buy. That is not a guarantee.

exactly. sell orders are not indicative of actual supply. if i had a precursor (which unfortunately i don’t) i wouldn’t list it for fear of getting undercut. I’d just watch the buy orders and sell it outright when I saw a buy order high enough.

did my first fractal run since the patch yesterday and the loot haul was fine. 10+ greens, 4 yellows, and a charged core.
now why can’t we get that quality of loot out of open world play????

wvw is definitely the most efficient way to get dailies done. also, why would it feel like cheating to rez NPCs? rezzing hyleks/dredges/ogres in eternal counts toward the event and is a really quick way to get it done.

i can’t believe they put this in after the feedback we gave when they tested it. it’s so bad, i don’t even want to WvW anymore because i can never tell how many enemies OR friendlies there are around me. even with no enemies nearby, friendlies just appear and disappear seemingly at random.
imo nothing within a set radius (preferably a radius I can set with a slider) should EVER be culled.
and i’m running a reasonably high end machine. i7 2600k @ 3.4ghz. 8gb ram, nvidia GTX 460

thats the new philosophy with the “laurels”.
gold = farmable and cash shoppable
karma = farmable
laurels = neither
and what exactly is the point of an artificially created time sink in a game with no monthly sub??

No actually a diverse way would be:
- Crafting leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- Karma leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- Dungeons leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- Fractals leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- Gold leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- WVWVW leads to ring, backpack and amulets
- Whatever else im forgetting leads to ring, backpack and amuletsThat’s diverse.
They did this for exotics…why aren’t they doing it for ascended???

introducing it one piece at a time via arbitrary currencies available via only 1 method is just dumb and annoying. Whether that method is fractals or dailies it doensn’t matter, it’s still a single method, unlike exotic which can be aquired through all currencies and methods of play.
They need to just stop, figure out a plan, introduce ascended properly—weapons, armor, everything—and make it available via karma, wvw tokens, dungeon tokens, crafting, etc.
oh yeah, and it should be tradeable! even legendaries can be sold, why not ascended??

yeah i’m pretty disappointed they didn’t take this opportunity to widen the availability of ascended gear. if they knew it was a mistake to make rings/backs available only from fractals, why are amulets available ONLY from laurels?? At the very least they should have been added to the existing fractal vendor.

from what i’ve seen so far, loot from boss chest in open world encounters (ie. temple bosses in orr, etc.) is just as worthless as ever.
I thought this was the patch that was going to bring people out of fractals. why is it that i can consistently get rares, cores, lodestones, and the occasional exotic running fractals, but never in open world play?
