I’m not holding anyone accountable on these forums for my lag. I’m not going to tolerate people in-game accusing me of things that are not true, nor am I going to tolerate it on the forums.

I came to these forums asking if ArenaNet had any plans to make differentiating between people who are actually afking & being reported for it versus people who are lagging and being reported falsely. The story I shared about my experience was merely to add context to my question. And instead of reading suggestions or any possible insight, I’ve just read unprovoked attacks and accusations directed towards me.

Because I’m frustrated? Gee. How dare I be upset about a negative experience I had.

Am I supposed to be like, happy that I was being cursed out and had false statements made against me?

I’ve had good pug dungeon runs, and I have also had absolutely atrocious ones. I have had more bad pug dungeon runs than good ones.
Call me grumpy and cynical, but too many players honestly do not care at all about what you put in your LFG listing.

My LFG listing for dungeons usually looks like this: “p#, 80 only, zerker/exp only”
And without fail, I’d say about 6-7 times out of 10, I get non-80s, people who have no clue what to do, and my personal favorite, people who are not running zerker/meta builds.

I would LOVE to make my listings a bit more detailed to hopefully attract a more suitable crop of players, but too many people don’t read the listings at all. And they think that we don’t notice, but we do. And they don’t care if they don’t meet the qualifications or expectations. I may be grumpy but it’s pretty much the reason why I don’t run dungeons anymore. I am sick of leaving parties, I’m sick of kicking people and then struggling to find good replacements, or kicking people and then losing one or two other members of the party.

I don’t join dungeon LFGs that ask for “any level any build” because that’s not what I’m looking for. I would never even dream of joining an LFG that openly stated they only wanted lvl 80 characters on a non-80. That’s just rude. So why do other players find it acceptable to do this? I’ve actually seen posts on other websites where people who run non-meta/non-zerker builds were bragging about joining zerker/meta parties and messing up their dungeon runs. It’s ridiculous.

If you want a non-meta, non-zerker, any level dungeon experience, then post your own LFG. Don’t ruin other people’s gaming experience just because you have some sort of personal grudge against people who prefer the meta.

I also have issues with the TP freezing my client so badly to the point where I have to restart my MacBook using the power button. Not sure if Yosemite related or not but. Yeah.

We use ‘botting’ because we still don’t have proper report functions appropriate to PvP – something like ‘not participating’ would be nice to have.

We’ve definitely been told by someone with a red tag over their name to just keep reporting intentional afk’ers as botting for now. It’s not the right label, but it fits better than the other options do.

So I have been having terrible connectivity issues since the September patch. I disconnect at LEAST once a day if not more. It is super annoying.

I was very recently in a PvP match, and I disconnected twice. I managed to get into the match but I couldn’t even leave our home base because of lag. All the while I see someone in /map from our team telling everyone in the match from both teams to report me for being afk, and that I’m running into the wall (which should have been an OBVIOUS indicator that something wasn’t right but I guess some people aren’t that bright). I PM’d the person later on and told them I was lagging but clearly they didn’t care considering I didn’t get a response or an apology or anything.

So now on the chance that I get disciplined for something beyond my control, what am I expected to do about it? How is ArenaNet planning on handling cases of people lagging and getting reported for it over cases of people intentionally throwing a match?

Sorry if this should be in a different subforum. I’m just a little irritated that I’m getting blamed for throwing a match when I didn’t do anything wrong or intentionally harmful at all.

About 40% of the time, when I open the trading post, my entire client freezes up so bad I have to restart my computer.
I play on a Mac.

For me it was only in PvP matches, but so far everything is fixed. Are you all still having this issue?

I have a late 2011 mbp and my frames are lower than they have ever been even on lowest gfx settings with my game crashing upwards of 6x per day. Lucky ;(

Same here. Happened three times mid-game. Not even bothering to log back in because of this train wreck.

My game won’t stop crashing. I was in the middle of a PvP match and my game crashed. I tried to relog and it crashed before I could even properly log back in. I relogged AGAIN and I managed to be able to say “well my game just exploded” in /map before crashing again.

Error message says:
“Iterator.IsValid0
A serious error has occurred that prevented the application from continuing. A report has been sent to ArenaNet to help determine the cause.”

Now I get to be dishonorable because the game is broken. Yay me.

Bought a ‘white’ greatsword and skinned it over with Belinda’s gs and wielded and stowed it in a night setting. Worked as intended.
Skinned over my Eternity and had the same issue. So I guess this is just an Eternity thing lol.

I didn’t read the entire thread (yay laziness), but I’m almost 100% positive this was intended. There was a “workaround” where you could get 25 stacks above water, and so long as you had a stacking sigil on your underwater weapon, you could swap out your regular weapons while still keeping your stacks. The change was intended to stop this from happening.

No change even when my graphics settings are altered. Still stays sheathed even when I have the weapon wielded.

Sorry that I keep replying to my own thread… But it seems like this issue only happens at night or in nighttime dungeons. During the day, the sword sheathes and unsheathes just fine.

I was just about to take one… When it decided to work as intended? I am thoroughly confused lol.

Initially, I had skinned over my legendary Eternity, so I figured maybe that was the issue, that the legendary’s effects were clashing with Belinda’s gs effects. So I bought a karma greatsword and skinned that over to test it out, and it worked fine. I went back to my legendary (Belinda’s gs skinned over still) and it was sheathing and unsheathing properly.

When I preview the skin from my bank, while stowed the greatsword is sheathed. When I wield it, it unsheathes and the blade is visible.

But I purchased the skin and when I use it in the open world, these effects don’t occur. The greatsword just stays sheathed the whole time, regardless of whether or not it’s stowed.

I’m so bummed! I’ve been dying for this skin since it ended up in the wardrobe and I spent like, 90g converting gold to gems to get it. I already put in a bug report but figured I should post about it on the forums in case other people are having the issue, too.

Zhaitan’s name is mentioned multiple times throughout not only the personal story, but I believe in casual NPC dialogue as well. I can also definitely recall Primordus being brought up by name as well.

Up until now, Mordremoth has never been referred to by name. I would’ve been totally fine if its name was found in a textbook in Scarlet’s basement or something, but being mentioned right off the bat by our player character kinda surprised me a little.

There is nothing legendary about legendary weapons except the legendary amount of gold required to obtain one. And as we all know that only requires a legendary swipe of a credit card.

I’m 20 years old, in college, and in crazy debt. I don’t have a credit card to swipe to get my gold. I also have a job and a social life. I have three legendaries, and I’m 70% done with my fourth after starting progress on it roughly 4ish weeks ago. I am by no means a casual player, but it is NOT that difficult to craft a legendary! It does not require a “legendary” amount of gold. With my first three legendaries I received help from friends and guildmates. I finished all three in three months. I bought the precursors and a few mats here and there to fill in remaining numbers. I’d buy ectos to make clovers. That was pretty much it! The process is the same for this next one.

Making money is stupidly easy in this game. Easier than it has ever been. And I don’t even play the trading post.

I have to disagree… In prior days people could farm gold more easily as well as precursors and mats were loads cheaper.

If they were as cheap as they used to be it wouldn’t be an issue… but the price of these things are skyrocketing out of control.

There is a guy in our guild that literally has 8 Legendary weapons…

I remember COF farming groups of 4 warriors + 1 Mesmer from back in the day… When I finally decided to level a Mesmer… they nerfed dungeons.

Some people would farm places like “Union Waypoint” at Lyssa. They could afk farm for mats.

There were numerous T6 mat locations people could farm before ANET nerfed them.

The cost for newer or even not full hardcore players to own a legendary is spiraling out of control. So NO I don’t mean… “change” … I mean “fix”

When precursors were 100g, 85% of people had less than 50g to their name (speculative, obviously no numbers exist).

Gold farming has become significantly easier than it used to be. You can run every dungeon path once per day. So OP claiming a big ole nerf:they nerfed being able to farm the same (aka easiest) path over and over and over and over. That is not a nerf to making gold, it’s a nerf to cheesing one path for easy gains. I don’t know how many runs you did per day back when you were farming (what I assume was CoF p1), but I’m sure it wasn’t more than the total number of dungeon paths there are total. Maybe go out and try different paths? AC all paths, CoF p1, p3, HoTW all paths, TA all paths. That’s 11 dungeon paths, all of which are considered to be relatively easy to run.

Or do world bosses every day and sell the rares, or salvage them and sell the ectos (at ~40s/ea, some yellows can potentially net you 1.2g).

What are you doing with your laurels? If you are working toward a legendary, then I assume you have all of the ascended trinkets you need, so use all laurels toward T6 mats from laurel vendor. Or if you need strictly money, sell the T6 mats you get from the laurels.

Point is: There are options to make money if you actually wanted to.

I’ve been playing this game since beta and making money is vastly easier now than it used to be.

I don’t roll engineer and I do not generally come across them in my GW2 adventures (both PvE and WvW).
Exactly.. The sigils on <80 karma gear are only like two silver. It’s not really a tragic loss if you just overlap the first sigil with a second cheaper one. I got 4 pieces of armor from the Melandru temple + I got the other two remaining pieces from WvW with Badges of Honor. When I upgrade my armor to ascended, I’m losing those runes because I can’t salvage them, AND I have to buy totally new ones. That’s like ~40g worth of runes. For 80 gear it makes sense but I don’t see the sense in it for <80 gear.

I don’t even bother using consumables in WvW. If somebody drops a feast, I’ll happily eat it, but honestly I find that unless you’re roaming or GvG’ing, fights come down to numbers, superior siege, and who gets the drop on the other first. The bonus given by consumables hardly makes a difference.

Actually this is NOT true. As a member of a WvW skill group, I find that I do not last NEARLY as long in fights without food (Lemongrass Poultry) than with it.

When it comes to paying for food (I hear your struggle on how expensive it is), my guild and I have started doing material runs so we can make our own. We also speed run dungeons together for gold. WvW is sooo not profitable so it’s really the only way any of us make money.

1. Waypoint costs are so minimal… I don’t understand why it bothers you? I have a relatively crappy computer as well and the loading screens take forever. I would so rather maximize my gameplay time (even minimally) at the cost of fake currency.
2. I don’t care for rearranging my icons because I have keybinds to open all of my important tabs. To improve upon your suggestion, I’d like if there were two different icons for ‘you have items available for pickup’ and ‘you have money available for pickup.’
4. I want this to become a thing simply because I accidentally unlocked three (!!!) ascended recipes on the wrong character the other day. Kicking myself in the kitten .
5. I remember shortly after I purchased the game, ANet had implemented a trial weekend. It would be nice to see more of those.
6. As I said earlier, my computer is crappy and my load screens take forever, too. When I go into WvW, I turn my graphics down every time. No offense, but it’s not that difficult to change your settings and I do hope you’re not too lazy to be willing to do this each time. I go into WvW every single day, so I am swapping my settings back and forth often. It’s not that big of a deal. Shrug.
7. This suggestion is bad. If I wanted this, I would go play The Sims.

9. You should know what buffs you’re giving people when you use the skill. If they’re in party, you can see your party members’ buffs in the UI. Having this feature would be super clunky and ugly and unnecessary imo.

The best suggestion here is the one where The Mists + Tyria each equal 1 gift of exploration.

I’m almost exclusively a WvWer and the only real PvE I participate in is the LS and dungeons/fractals. All of my characters have 100% WvW completion and (with the exception of two) roughly ~10% Tyria completion. Tyria is HUGE and the effort required to complete hearts and vistas is honestly tremendous compared to the effort needed to complete WvW. WvW completion comes naturally to you when you participate in WvW! You don’t need to go over the river and through the woods to get a tower POI. You enter the tower and you get it. At most you complete a little bit of a jumping puzzle to get a vista. It’s literally so simple. Fridays are k-train days. My server will flip enemy keeps anywhere from 2-6 times on Fridays. I truly don’t understand the difficulty.

PvErs get literally everything handed to them on a silver platter. And yet they still find reasons to cry. The entitlement is real! WvW doesn’t get bi-weekly updates. It doesn’t get bug fixes or new additions or anything to improve it. You guys have it really good, honestly. Meanwhile, if something goes wrong in PvE, ANet will literally stop the world from turning in order to fix it.

Tl;dr — This thread belongs in the recycle bin.
