We first attempted to steal SM off you DH guys with a few golems, but you stopped us abruptly as soon as we broke through the inner gate and tried to storm the Lord’s Room. I quickly saw that this wasn’t going anywhere; so, being the nifty mesmer that I am, went around the corner and hid behind a wall. Surprisingly lucky for me, DH didn’t seem to care about any potential mesmers and neglected to do a proper sweep.

If anyone reading this thread is contemplating switching to a server in T7, I’m going to put my plug in for GoM. Our server fought GoM and HoD for 7 weeks. Their server contains a population of mobile, smart, and resilient players and they play for hard points, which has kept rewarding them all this time even when they get double teamed from the third place team playing for 2nd.
We’ve had some recruiters come to our LA from HoD, and I’d just like to really make T-shirts for you guys or something. Team GoM. Or is that … team ARM? o__0

I mean, I hate to point out the obvious, but taking a break from WvW DR isn’t going to do anything but put you into T7, where there are going to be even fewer people who will tickle your fancy. GoM holds a few guilds who will gladly match you for group combat, but keep up that same attitude and they’ll be switching places before you get the chance to fight them. Unless you’re holding out for NSP. They thought they would take a vacation from WvW so they could stomp the tier below them and lo’ and behold, they were shocked and awed at the resistance they met there, and have been losing rating ever since. Sound familiar?
Our servers are in the bottom half due to a long history of transfers and various other reasons. But T6 and T7 were locked into mortal combat for near two months, and in that time we all sharpened each other’s daggers. So IOJ and DR can have their upper tier QQ party, meanwhile GoM and/or NSP/HoD will gladly take your place. Our matchup with them before was never a total steamroll, and if anything should be closer now that they’ve had room to breathe a bit. And personally, I am looking forward to that, as I hear the dead heat matches in T7 have put everyone into bloodlust mode.
But until then, I hope you guys keep up some of the great fights we’ve seen this weekend. I’ll be keeping an eye on the things we own and engaging in small group and 1v1 combat as well.

T6 has had its moments, but I definitely miss our encounters with [ASH] and [RH]. You guys are a lot better than most of the guilds T6 has fronted. And we’ve been working hard at improving our small group skirmishes and tactics, hopefully we’ll be able to fight you guys again sometime soon.

It was only like 6 WAR guys and 1 pug that marched those golems. We laughed the whole time. I wanted to cap that last tower but my we all had a good buzz on and passed out. Next time a superior cata is hitting your garrison, you might want to repair the wall it was hitting.
DH I respect your guilds: SE, Abys, PD, and Mort. I think you guys are good but have a ton to learn. Hopefully you guys can hold down Tier 6 when we leave.

Had fun last night trading towers in AR BL with the [MoRt] lead zerg early last night. Good fights, We were working a bit outnumbered given the usual size of the zergs you dudes pull and since when we hit you first it was game over but head to head we slowly dropped. Wasn’t there for long, had to hand over the reins to get some work done but [WAR] loves a good [MoRt] fight.
We enjoyed the fights too. Our guild’s WvW participation has grown significantly over the last couple weeks and we’ve had a lot of fun lately If you guys do move up, give BP and EB a run for their money for us.
Had a great time in AR BL last night. The golems were a’ rollin’, and Myro had his F S UP hat on! Sorry bout those multiple upgrade bills in your garrison and bay, Anvil Rock… except not And I think DH and IOJ need to give each other a high five for this pie chart. Or at least a semi-friendly wave from behind ballistas.

You might want to check out millennium pie charts during the time of day you frequently play at, for a glimpse at what goes on. If you’re a morning person, many of the lower tier servers won’t be exciting for you.
And in my opinion, T5 is about to become quite stable, T6 is always relatively stable (with the exception of IOJ plummeting through at the moment- I think they’ll settle nicely in T7), and T7 is very stable. You will have a decreasing amount of coverage as you go down the rankings, and point tallies at the end of the week often don’t show the types of combat each server is capable of bringing, but rather the scooping of points at off hours. Server reset is another time you might want to look at the pie charts before you transfer.

Also a good fight in DH BL, we were trying to hit and run DH from behind when they were trying to siege the only IoJ tower south west. Really good fight happened after.
That was fun, I enjoyed that hot mess of a IOJ/DH/AR party at redbriar. I was the upscale mesmer turning you guys into moas. ^__^ I had to smile when I strayed too far from my fellow DH and an AR necro yoinked me onto the bridge and I subsequently got my kitten kicked, and then was simultaneously finished by [SOLO] and some [STAR]. Dat fight in your Bay, AR. Most of the time outer was down, inner was down for a sizeable amount of time, portaling up the wazoo, barely any siege, just good old fashioned rumbling! I know we enjoyed that.

I would like to see more gnarled looking sylvari customization. A lot less human-shaped and more tree-shaped. Right now any sylvari running around without cultural armor or tree branch hair really looks like a human until you zoom in and look closely. And those of us who want to push out of human appearances are limited to just one hairstyle and one armor set. Anet was on the right track with the tree branch hairstyle… run with it!

Fight Club needs to be moved into some other pvp (like a sPvP deal).
Don’t you like taking a nap on a grassy hill surrounded by red enemies? Also, the logistics of sPvP don’t really work out for this right now.
it figures that some would take advantage of fight nite and steam roll a bl knowing there would be no resistance. but it is wvw and still its just a game so ill just keep smiling and having fun.

Okay, first of all, As a MoRt commander, I can positively say that none of us who are in our voice chat, who are commanding or leading our guild in WvW, are in contact with this person. I don’t know who this person is and we have rules about transferring off of Darkhaven and we will be dealing with this. I have been roaming WvW in various tonics when things quiet down, but I find that it seems to attract a rabid form of bloodlust-induced crit instead of a friendly stroll, or herding rather, through the borderlands. If you see a snowman bouncing around Bluebriar, be warned, she does have daggers underneath that jolly hat.

Here’s a quick video from DH’s victory at Bay in our borderlands last night, obligatory epic battle music included. There were roughly 12 of us holding out as long as we could against 50+ once the wall came down. But numbers or not, DH are some resilient mofos and great competitors.
Just figured you guys would like to see how things look on our side of the screen. This goes out especially to Actium as some inspiration to continue his own epic story.
Nice job guys, love seeing things from your perspective too. I remember that group next to the vista, they were chewing us to pieces. Some great fights at Bay in our BL and yours as well. You guys were getting cozy in our towers all day yesterday. I think I even saw ravens hanging on the walls of Bluebriar- I do not approve of that décor.
Also, HoDs who set up trebs right out front of Redlake to take the gate down… I’m lucky I didn’t have a drink at hand.

The only annoying aspect of keeping the current system is that we were expecting to fight some new servers and not our usual opponents. Variety is refreshing.
^^^^ Agreed. Spending a month with the same servers has been a gentle introduction to commanding, but now I want to take those training wheels off! DH as a server has changed a lot in the last month, and now I want to test our tactics against some new faces.

Update 2/7/2013:
We’ve been keeping a very close watch on this week’s matchups and, despite our concerns regarding the recent population shifts, it seems that many of the games are quite competitive. At the same time we’ve been evaluating some possible changes to the math we use to calculate ratings. After examining a number of new methodologies for weighting the outcomes of matches we have found that our existing formulas already do pretty much what we want them to do. Certainly none of the candidates that we tried yielded better results.
In light of the strong community response to the idea of a WvW ratings reset, the results of our ratings formula investigations, and our data on the current matchups we have decided not to reset the WvW ratings at this time. All existing WvW ratings will be preserved and the rating calculation methodology will remain unchanged. Any existing mismatches should be corrected by the system in relatively short order. Now that there is less volatility in the player base for each world we expect the quality of matches to improve more quickly. This is both because the rating system is operating in a less unpredictable environment and because more stable teams tend to produce better results.
Thank you all for your feedback on this matter, and for your patience while we explored the various options. The community response was a key element in our decision making process.

Paying close attention to the ebb and flow of WvW interest on Darkhaven, the worst times when we spent weeks falling into last place. The PUGs lost interest, many large WvW guilds left, and those of us that remained are still here, and are reviving interest with the guilds and commanders who never left and are stronger and more positive than ever. It’s a blast in WvW on this server, it really is. We’ve seen a definite increase in PUG interest as we fight to win these last few weeks. Queues in EB at 2am PST! I look forward to the server reset, as I think our server is primed to battle some servers that are still lingering in the middle.

I’d just like to say, midweek in the last week we’ll probably face GoM and HoD for awhile, that I love everyone in this bar. [RH], just a shout out to quite possibly the most fun I’ve had in WvW defending our borderlands. I used to get insanely frustrated with your epic ganks as I trot through our borderlands but now it’s like getting sliced and diced by old frenemies. You guys REALLY like Sunny, don’t ya? Saying “Sixth time’s the charm!” isn’t something I thought I would ever have to do over the course of a night. Twice holding at the guild lord (seems to be a popular spot for us to lock daggers these last few weeks). Our team chat defending against you is always a riot, thanks for keeping us on our toes.

I hate those spots as well and it’s unfortunate that there is always -someone- willing to exploit that invulnerability spot. Today an enemy invader was using a hack when we were defending Shad, somehow one-shotting us when we were well out of range and putting us straight into dead instead of downed (definitely not siege). I know one person doesn’t represent a whole server so the best we can do is represent ourselves to keep the game fair and civil until Anet fixes these exploits.
