O_o makes sense, I have the same problem right now, since I was trying a new build in SPvP and I used rune that transforms you to mist kitten this is so annoying on PvP.
Actually, the value is 600/2 = 300, not the other ay around sadly.
The biggest issue with Axe is that even if you get the maximum maintainable vulnerability (10%) through just auto attacks you and your party get more overall damage from you simply wielding another weapon.
If Anet wants the axe to be a support weapon, they need to either make it easier to maintain higher stacks with the auto attack or change vulnerability mechanics.
If they want it to be a “ranged” power weapon they need to increase either the attack speed or damage.
I wrote it this way just to give an example of how it can become “OP”, and 10 stacks of vulne from 1 person is not that low.
I agree altho that axe needs some kind of boosting, don’t know which direction,but still it needs to change.
I believe that Axe has that low damage because it attacks fast, and twice(x2).
Imagine yourself being able to hit for 300 raw damage each hit(so x2=600) and critting for anything close to 500, with a high chance to crit this would be almost 1k dmg per sec, while stacking vulnerability to the target.Now imagine using a build that stacks Vulnerability to the target,and giving you might(it’s the build I am using right now and it looks fun), you can easily get 20+ Vulnerability on the target and 10 stacks of might just by using BiP.
To sum it up, 1000 damage each time using the skill #1 , +20% from vulnerability + 10 stacks of might, giving an example number of 1400 DPS, wouldn’t that be a bit OP just by auto attacking?

Actually I use both signet power and signet of the locust in my vampiric build which works pretty well.
Signet of the locust can heal you up to 10k if you use any amulet with + healing(on pvp)which is MORE than a second heal, plus it does a good 1-2k dmg, combining it with signet of power and plague signet(as my defensive utility) it all fits pretty well.
Actually right now in my build I use signet of locust and it works just fine, specially if I have more than 3 people around me.
There are times where it can heal you for up to 6k if you use it right,it’s like a second heal,plus it does a good 1k dmg per target, and if you trait for it, it gives you 3 stacks of might.
Post is TL:DR but you can finish off people in plague form, same as mine things or open chests.

We all know that the weapons skill of a thief don’t have any cooldown, they are spammable,their utilities are put on cooldown by use tho.
While every other class is affected by Chill on their weapons skills, how is a thief affected?Does chill affect their weapon skills at all?
Chill:
Movement speed decreased by 66%; skill cooldown increased by 66%; stacks duration.
Does chill give a cooldown to the thieve’s weapon skills?If not isn’t this a bit unfair?Maybe chill affects their initiative regeneration?

Trading system is fine for me,but the mail system needs some small adjustments like this one, I understand the purpose of being like this ,but it could allow a few more mails before blocking someone.
Can we increase the ammount of mails you can send before you get a suspension?
My issue is as follows:
I am in charge for the guild bank, and once in a while we “gather” some good ammount of X items(lets say dyes) so I give them away in the guild , and sometimes its even 20 dyes.After sending the first few mails I get suspended and have to spend sometimes up to 10 minutes (in total) to send all the mails.
Can we do something about this?I know you want to prevent spamming but maybe increasing the limit of in-guild mails or anything similar?
If you use a condition dmg specc you will probably have issues underwater thats true, but me as a power/crit specc I LOVE U.W combat, with “2” skill of spear you can make 6-9k and with 5 from trident you can see 5-7k on crits.
Also with plague you are able to Cap the ruins without letting the sharks touch you, and that weakness of trident is pretty cool also..
Hah what’s wrong with bots?
Bots are almost useless in this game for farming , let me explain why.
As we all know, there is this “anti-farming code” which will reduce your drops to nothing after X ammount of time(or kills).Let’s take a closer look:
Bot starts farming, the first 30 minutes gets many nice drops, after 30 minutes drops start reducing,4 hours later the bot hardly gets any drop.
A player starts farming, the first 30 minutes he gets the same drops as the bot, a bit later he can see that drops have reduced, but he still wants to farm, so he changes area for an other 30 minutes and continue farming with full drop ammount, after 30 minutes he returns to the first spot and farms again, no problems.
The thing is,bots get things the first hours, after that it doesn’t matter if they farm for constant weeks or months, they get useless, while You, You will get all the drops.
A player farming 2 days ,changing spots, can make x20 more than a bot farming a whole week constantly..
At start I did hate that anti farming code, I am a farmer , I farm 24/7, but I can see now how useful it is, and how I can use it on my advantage
Get some Carrion pieces and some prec/tough/cond(not sure how they are called), this will balance both your vit and tough, you will also benefit from all the stats on offense.

Went to each zone one by one and looked at the map each zone is 100%world map shows im missing 3x poi 3x heart

The Dev said the PvP pois don’t count, but there are 3 hearts just when you enter heart of the mists(and 3 pois also).
I had the same problem too, until I re-checked Eternal battlegrounds right after the patch, I suspected a bug in the map(since it was the only one left)and I was right, after the patch there was 28 PoIs(before the update it was 27)
As you said changing one of the only PREVIOUSLY best way to generate LF(with an other) is indeed a buff.
You might not want to use BiP in your conditions build,this was your life force filler, but don’t you get something better in exchange for BiP, you get spectral walk.
If you get 10 hits(or even 10 bleed ticks) you will get 30% life force,10% more than BiP used to give.
Also it gives you a swiftness boost, a teleport-to-start ability, and a stun breaking wayout.
You are telling me that you used one skill as a LF filler before, now you get a better one because the old is changed, and you are telling me this is a nerf?
No sir, it is a buff.Two skills changed, both buffed,both in diffrent ways.
Also yes, DS needs a bit reworking.
Just to fix a false statement above, spiteful spirit works fine, use DS and get out of it instantly, you will see that you have a 3 seconds retaliation.

I didn’t talk about 1700 passive condition, but 1700 WITH the 10 stacks of might from Bleed is Power.
Nop, condition is not the only “Good” build for necros out there, myself , I like wells more.
About everyone complaining how we start a match without life force..so..warriors start with 3 levels of adrenalinne?Nop.
It is our filler, is it something we have to fill.
Whenever you play a build, you are not supposed to use ALL your utilities to focus on ONE simple thing, because -lets face it-you are going to get yourself killed in a few seconds.
PvP is not PvE, you won’t get hit for 500 from a monster, and 1k if you are lucky.
You go both offensive and defensive, thats the purpose of this game.
Your life force filler is spectral walk(now) and not Blood is power.
If you want to use Blood is power, it is supposed to take place of one of your offensive utilities, while Spectral Walk will take the place of a defensive, and your life force filler.

No , actually its pretty simple.
1 stack of might gives you 35 condition damage, which is converted to 1,75 dmg per stack of bleed.
10 stacks of might gives you 350 condition damage, which is 17,5 dmg per stack of bleed.
10 stacks of bleed, while having 10 stacks of might means 175 dmg per second.
Now if we use, say an average of 1700 condition damage,(with the stacks of might) we get
2.5 + 0.5 * 80 + 0.05 * 1700 =127.5 dmg per second for one bleed(2.5 + 0.5 * Level + 0.05 * Condition Damage= dmg per stack per second)
If you use some good condition control you can easily get 10 stacks of bleed on your target, which translates into 1275 dmg per second just from bleeds, you still have a poison on the target(from scepter) and auto attack burst dmg
10 seconds is all you need to get your enemy down

Plague signet(transfers all conditions to target)
Signet power(VIII Trait of spite) 3 stacks of might upon usage of a signet.
I’ll give you a true story example.
Me Vs an Engineer
I start with scepter auto attack , I stack 3 bleeds on the engi(1 from scepter, 1 from sigil , 1 from curses 5 point trait)
Engineer attacks me and causes 4 stacks of bleed on me.
I use Blood is power and gain 2 stacks of bleed on me(making it 6) plus 10 stacks of might.
Engi has 5 stacks of bleed on him, I have 6 on me.
Auto attacking, 8 stacks of bleed on the engineer, 12 on me.
I use plague signet transfering 12 stacks of bleed onto the engineer, making him have a total of 20(!!!) and I gain 3 more stacks of might(making it 13)
Thief comes out of nowhere, I use epidemic.
2 people dead in 2 seconds from the time I use epidemic, both of them with 20 stacks of bleed on them(they where getting 2791 damage every second)(yes 2791 every second). PURE WIN!
Now if you think that the 36 seconds bleed is bad for SPvP , I am only going to tell you that as long as you have a condition on you, you won’t get out of combat.
So unless your enemy cleanses it(after you are dead) his health will continue to decrease for 36 seconds, if you spread that to 3 or 4 members of the opposite team, they will lose so many valueble seconds of not getting into combat(or choose to get into it and die)that YOUR team will be able to take all the bases.

Do the hearts @ heart of the mists count?There are 3 hearts there, you can go by pressing H(Hero panel, last tab from the left row) “Go to the heart of the mists”
Ok I did go to the eternal battlegrounds once more after the patch and I can see now 22/28, before that it was 22/27 so I suppose there was a “hidden poi” , if anyone had the same please reply.
If you increase your healing you can also revive people faster, any of your spells that causes heal is increased too, and also it increased the Regeneration boon.
I have the same problem, I have 711/717 , but I have spotted 5 Poi’s in Eternal battlegrounds which I will be able to grab the next week, all maps are 100%, all WvW borderlands are 100% , All towns are 100%, went into HoM and chantry of secrets still can’t find it.
One more guildy has the same problem.
I just wanted to ask a question , I know that there had been some kind of exploits in the past involving karma, so I need to make sure I am not breaking any rules.
So, if I can turn any ammount of karma into coins , is this an exploit?Converting one currency into an other is an exploit?Nothing game breaking, lets say small ammounts and I will give examples.
I am usually using my karma to buy Green items(900-1000 karma each) to put them into the mystic forge with the possibility of getting a Rare and salvaging it for ectoplasms, I don’t really care about any piece of armor that is sold for karma, so pretty much I don’t want to use it there, I can still use it to buy these green stuff and have a X chance of getting some ecto out of some thousands of karma spend, is this an exploit?
The other day we did some runs on explorable dungeons and I got the dungeon tokens(an other form of currency) but still I am not intrested(yet) on any of the dungeon pieces of armor/weapon, so I spend them to buy the items and salvage them for ectos, is this a form of exploiting?
TL:DR If I can turn one currency to an other, without making HUGE proffit out of it, is it still an exploit?

I see now what they had told me:
-All the QQ is comming to GW2, ANet must get ready for it.
Make healing/applying boons(support in general) to allies give you reward(loot + DE reward).
Some people(not including myself) play very ,VERY casually.(2-3 hours a day).
That means they don’t intend to do HARD stuff that takes a lot of time,and the casual players are a lot.
Of course a game should have a scale, with easier and harder things to do,there should be the hardcore and the softcore parts of a game.
Imho, game is fine right now, I play a game to relax and not to frustrate because I have wiped X times in a hardcore part of the game(even if I am a hardcore player.)
TL:DR
The game should give you options for everything, you can do this easy mode – you get less reward, if you do it hard mode – grats you get more reward.
If only they could implement a hard mode – normal mode like GW1..

Just want to say on wells build you need power
Wells don’t scale with Cond Power.They apply conditions on foes but the Pulse dmg is based on power,they an also Crit and hit structures-siege weapons(balistas,gates,walls anything)
Also note that “Channeling” is not casting.Your challing skills are the ones like Life Siphon from dagger(skill No 2) and the one from Axe (skill No 2 again).These are 2 channelled skills(if you see the tooltip it says 1251(9x))
The player who made the video reported him,MANY times in a few mins :P

I haven’t seen any “BIG” numbers. You achieved to do ~6k with Ghastly Claws, but that’s not impressive if you look at other professions. You are somehow durable, but it’s not much more than a regular Necro that hasn’t spend 30 points in Soul Reaping.
Also, if mastering DS means we have to spent 30 points in a certain trait line, than this just sucks. A professions mechanic should work, no matter if you invested trait points or not.
Currently “mastering DS” means 2 things:
- counting down the 40s CD on Life Transfer even while outside of DS
- knowing when your enemy will execute a big attack so you can switch to DS
Why do you compare necros with “other proffesions”?Necro is a unique proffesion, same as thief,warrior,ele,mesmer etc.
On light armor I could achieve a few less thousands of damage than a thief,with the thief having half my life.
We are not supposed to see damage like an ele,mesmer or thief.
Been using a crit/power – DS build for weeks now.
You should have made a video, showing us that we can output damage like this,weeks ago.
Mastering DS also means Using our fear, and absorbing dmg. not just right before you die either
I tried using fear the best possible moment,and even use teleport for reasons like chasing or “need the chill for -66% skill recharge” etc.

Just to clear this up,this video was just in a few hours of playing/editing to show that even we can produce some real burst,while being one of the lowest burst-dealing proffesions,I’m prette sure there are other players out there who can do more, I want to see more myself.

I was a little upset about Jon telling us L2P basically, and that we needed to master DS.
I could not understand how to master DS since it is a form with just 4 skills and a new life bar,but I think I am getting really close.
I introduce you a power-crit/wells build.
I won’t give a lot of details at the moment since its kinda late and I’m sleepy but any questions will be answered in a few hours maximum
If you wanna see some BIG numbers, go ahead and try something like this.
-Please help me improve this build, I know my play style sucks I used to play wells/melee build so I was basically running inside a pile of enemies and tanking/aoeing everything.

I like the “flesh” minions, the concept of rotten flesh on old bones.
I hate skeletons, skeletons are everywhere.
Flesh minions are pretty much zombies, a zombie is a creature that died and came back to life before the flesh fully dissapears,the creature is mindless, or under the gaming situation, a mindless puppet that will do as the master commands.
And yes, I love to have an exploding dead bunny, or a piece of meat with hands and legs that runs around.
This kind of build has been posted before, it is one of the most viable indeed, altho I would not go for curses, and instead use Spite since I melee my target, I use no damaging conditions except for the corrupting well that can turn regeneration onto degeneration.
Also spite will give you condition duration on your cripple of warhorn and immobilize of your dagger.
Also I don’t like ground-targeting wells, since I melee, I have to go close and use them where I stand

Good read Levetty, what would be the point to increase your 3 sec bleed by X percent..?Adding it maximum half a sec to it’s durations.While adding a 20% duration to 5 seconds of immobilize gives you an extra second ..

Precision and condition damage make perfect sense,use the 60% rune of adding a bleed on the critical,you have your trait for extra bleed on critical, get a 50% chance to crit with precision and BOOM

Not only that, corrupt boon on a guardian and BOOM, 10 conditions and 25 stacks of bleed, one feast of corruption kitty BOOM again.
We gotta learn a lot about this proffesion..A lot more..
Exactly what Sjach said, necro all the way for PvE.you might not have the best damage out there, but you have DEFINITELY the best tanking/support.
My 2nd dagger MH ability can heal my up to 4k specced to 30 blood 20 death 20 spite,waiting for a fix on siphon life i expect to see 6k heals out of this skill.
Every well gives you protection(-33% dmg) when pulses
Every well heals you when pulses you have skills for regen,kite,life siphon,DS,plague that doubles your HP/Toughness.

Get a dagger and a focus or warhorn
Get a build that consists of 30 points in Blood magic,20 points in death, and 20 in spite , play a build with Wells skills and your necro is going to be the 2nd best tank in the game.
No kitting, just stand there and be like a wall of bricks healing all the way and having multiple protection abilities while you aoe your enemies down to 0.

Very good post by Lastday,explains pretty well the necro in my opinion.
A tip, as a necro you don’t really have to “catch” the thief before he goes invisible,you are a necro, you can use aoe spells that will annoy him even if he manages to go invisible,while he goes for the burst you can blind him(making his burst useless)or even weaken him(when you weak someone you make his blows glancing, which means 50% chance for a 50% damage reduction)
You can also slow/dodge their burst which wont last more than 3-4 seconds or even “swallow” the burst into DS and make them USELESS.
I agree with what the Dev said, necro is the hardest proffesion to master, it has A LOT of bugs and broken skills/traits, but is still the BEST on 1vs1 situations.
Go toughness/vitality and use well build for PvP, you will have a life pool of 28k,armor of 2.5-3k and avoid the most damage you can get,imagine the survability..
No, you don’t have have 3 options, not in GW2.
Not only necromancer is focused on conditions, mesmer is also a similar class,necro is more of an MM or vampire.
Conditionmancer is overall not that good, condtions are weak, they last only a few seconds(maybe lower) and they are just not enough, except the one signet.
Minion Master works good, your pets do fair damage altho they could use some scaling on the player stats,to make them a bit better meat shields.
Minion AI in general is not playable..
4)Support.
Myself latetly I play a Well-o-Mancer, which focuses on applying conditions on foes and protect/heal nearby allies, I use a flesh golem to assist me in single fights or a lich form for massive situations.
I find well mancer the best possible build for PvE and PvP at the moment, has the least bugs ,you are tanky and you can pull some fair damage.
Necromancers don’t need boosts, they need fixes.
Truth is with an axe and a focus you can easily stack 12 vulnerability on the target, but axe damage needs some boosting..
Also I would LOVE to see the auto attack or the 2nd attack using a cone, it would just make it so much more useful and not overpowered
