I’d like to see a dungeon that we won’t be able to beat it on the first enter, where we have to improve our skill to defeat bosses.

I want to say that this dungeon is the best dungeon in GW2 so far, it was hella fun, mechanics ain’t obvious and old like in other dungeons, they are pretty interesting and challenging…BUT, there is always “but”, because always we all can do better
So to the topic
First boss, this Asura guy
I really like this phase with electric walls that moves, but i’d like to expand this boss fight and make it deeper, so how would i see it
Phase 0.5 We fight with boss and beat him till 75 % then the first phase starts
Phase 1 It will be the same as it is now, so i don’t have to expalin
Phase 1.5 After we finish phase 1, we fight with boss again till we burn him under 50%, then phase 2 starts
Phase 2 I call it “ASURAN LASORS, AND SELF-DESTRUCTION DROIDS”
This Asura bwoy, has built in Asuran lasors on walls. So these lasors fires at us with fire and electic stuff. So we have to avoid that (it would be pretty intense, so speed buffs and dodges would be sagnificant). But in addition, Asura bwoy sends his self-destructible droid who fixates on random player. When it tragets a player, this player sees specific circle under his feet (or debuff icon above his head), so he has ~5 seconds to hide behnd pillar or any object that would make him obstructed. Otherwise droid will stick to him and blow up killing him (to death, no downed state
, to add some drama).
This phase lasts 2 – 3 minutes.
Phase 2.5 after we finish phase 2, we again fight with boss burning his life till 25% then phae 3
Phase 3 It is a combination of phase 1 and 2. We have this basic electric wall (when the first wave of droids comes in the first phase) and full phase 2 with lasors and droids. This phase lasts one minute and thirty seconds, killing droids will do nothing. After 1:30 power in lab lowers, so there is not enough current to power everything in the lab, so we have to finish droids, we have 15 seconds for that than final phase begins
Final phase Asura bwoy sees that he will loose so he enters self-destruction procedure. We have 30 seconds to finish this guy, grab the remote and turn off the procedure (when the fight with boss starts, he closes doors, so we can’t run
)
That is how i see fight with the first boss, and how i would like to see it
Final boss.
I like the mechanic with the shield, we have to know how to controll the boss and how to use defensive spells.
But again i’d like to see more deeper fight…so to the topic
Phase 0.5 We do as we do right now, destroying the shield and burning down the boss
Phase 1 Cannon phase as it is right now
Phase 1.5 Same as phase 0.5, but with 2 additions. Norn throws down frag bombs and in addition he shots ice that immobilizes everyone who take the hit. So again we burn down the boss to 50%
Phase 2 Cannon phase with one addition, She uses another spell, the one that she use when she ressurects norn when he die (at least this animation). Player can’t dodge through it, they have to jump up to avoid it
Phase 2.5 Another burning phase. Everything as in phase 1.5, but with one addition, debuff…magnetic debuff. She put magnet debuff on 4 players (2 magnets pole per player).
Players have 5 seconds to hugh another player with opposite pole (Negative + Positive). And they have to run hugged for at least 15 seconds before debuff goes off. If they don’t hug player in 5 seconds, or they are too far from the partner there is a massive knockback and unavoidable dmg. So when we hit 25% on boss phase 3 stars
Phase 3 = Phase 2. When we survive final phase begins
Final phase
That chick boss runaways to the airship and threats us that she gonna use mega asuran lasor to destroy sth (whatever fits to the story) and she runs one minute sequence
Norn guy blocks the way to the ship, so we have to kill him in 1 minute (He uses all spells from phase 1.5, also he uses cannon whirlwind that knockback players). When we kill him, we have to hit at least once the asuran lasor controler to disable the procedure. And then we have to finish the chick boss. She use all spells including the magnet debuff, so we have to be careful, cuz on the ship there is no large space, so we would have to think.
In conclusion, I LOVE THIS DUNG GUYS, but in the future i’d like to see more depth and higher difficulty, we aren’t dumb, we want hard content

This game didn’t “click” for a lot of ppl in the first week or two, but some of them returned after some time and magically IT CLICKED, and they like the game.
Firstly You have to reset Your mindset from typical MMO player focused on gathering stronger and stronger gear, but set Your mind just to have fun from doing those dungeons and stuff in the game. You reward will be the awesome armor skin etc. This game have so much activities and dungeons are only small part of it
. Also You have to turn into an explorer type of guy. That’s how this game works, You just wandering around and explore and game just throws the content at Your face and You can participate or not, it’s Your decision
I recommend You to give it a try now, if it don’t click, try it later. Trying doesn’t cost anything, and maybe You will CLICK with this game

Firstly, i would try to design the 15-20 man dungeon that would use the potential of non-holy trinity (heh i’m working on one right now
, but not as i used to, creating topic→writting some basic mechanics etc., but actually im trying to build the full dungeon, 3D models etc., dunno if i succeed but it would be always good for portfolio
). I’d like to add to the game some rivalry for PvE players. For example my dungeon will have difficulties triggered inside the dungeon, depends on players decisions during the progress. For instance if players dont’t take the side path to destrpy the dredge suit, it will trigger the harder mode of the boss (it will summon his dredge suit with better and stronger skills
). Also i would add the ladderboard for PvE players (for example the fastest run etc., ofc fastest runs without skipping bosses). Also in the same step (Brain CPU CYCLE
) i would DIVERSE PVE FROM PVP, i mean spells in PvE and PvP would be balanced separately, so it won’t take too much drama if i nerf or boost some spells in PvE.
Second thing, immediately i would add the alliances between guilds as it used to be in GW1.
Third thing, Linux client for GW2.
Fourth thing, i would redesign current meta-events. Now they are to static. Take The Shatterer for instance, ppl just stack on his leg and burn him down…it’s not fun, force ppl to use all stuff there, mortars etc.

Well my biggest need as a PvE-nerd is to have some competitive stuff here, so i would focus on implementing unique GW2 version of mass instances (raids) for more than 10 ppl. I’m thinking how would i implement this thing since release
, non-holy trinity makes this stuff harder, cuz mechanics can’t be trivial, also it is hard to get rid of some builds. Such things always require a person who can take more dmg, a person who can heal more, a person who can support group with buffs etc.. I think ppl would like to take certain roles, and the good thing about GW2 is that everyone can be everything, so noone is forced to play certain class in order to perform some special stuff like tanking mobs(Yes there are still classes who can tank better, but this thing can be solved by proper balancing stats and survival utilities). Also i’d add some mechanics that would require team play…AND I WONT REVEAL THEM, IT IS MY SWEET SECRET
, i have some stuff in my mind, let’s say, imagine this as a sync group dancing, but not with ./dance
.

- Bring wipe factor to the dungeons and please the hardcore pve players
I want to introduce one more mechanism, or rather expand on survival and heroic modes.
If You choose to fight boss in heroic or survival mode, all waypoints in the dungeon becomes unavaiable untill all ppl in pt are dead (sth simmilar to fractals).
Survival mode brings wipe counter. When You wipe 5 times on boss, this boss become unavaiable in survival mode again untill next day(reset).
- If sth is good and it works, why we want to get rid of this?
Yes, bring more than 5 ppl to party. Make dungeons more epic, force players to coopearate on the higher lvl, bring back the guild factor. I’d like this dungeon to be 10-15 man. Having more than 5 ppl brings more difficulty aspect to the encounter (spacing, timing, less space problem to solve). Give ppl chance to think about tactics and cooperation.
If sth works (in other games) why we want to get rid of this? I know ArenaNet want to diverse them from other games, but some aspects are superior and should be implemented in the Guild Wars 2 to please more hardcore audience
- Make bosses more „active”
I try to design bosses for this dungeon, to make them more active. I want to get rid of tank’n’spank scenario. I want to take adventage of non-animation lock combat that GW2 has and i want to make no-trinity to shine even more

3. Crafting
I will now write the average token and mats requirements of the items from recipies.
20 heroic tookens for every ascendant recipe
50 legendary tokens for every legendary recipe
20 random „saturated” ingredient for one piece of ascendant armor
50random „saturated” ingredient for one piece of legendary armor
It gives around 40 days of „farming” stuff if You kill 5 heroic mode bosses every day and around 30 days if You kill 5 survival mode bosses every day to get full ascendant gear (head,shoulders,chest,hands,boots,legs,2xrings,necklace, 2 sets of weapons). And some more days to craft legendary weapon. Ppl want to farm sth? Give it to them.
Everyone will be able to get Ascendant gear in this dungeon, but not everyone will be able to kill survival bosses quickly

2. Main mechanisms
In this paragraph i’d like to write about my thoughts on what mechanisms and features should this dungeon have.
- Dynamic difficulty scaling
What it means is to adjust the difficulty of the content based on the players actions. For example, the first boss i have, Dredge Driller Supervisor, when You explore the forge You will see „Dredge Supervisor Assistants” that keep an eye on the other dredges while they are digging. If You avoid them and not kill them, they will help the boss (boss will have 2 special abilities involved Dredge Supervisor Assistants”), making the encounter harder. More? Ofcourse, there will be dredge suit that some technican will work on, if You don’t kill them, Dredge boss at some point will hop in to this suit making the fight even more complex and difficult.
Let me wrap it up. When You kill technicans and Dredge Assistants, You will enter the normal difficulty level of the boss.
When You kill technicans and not kill Dredge Assistans, You will enter heroic version of this fight.
When You not kill technicans and Dredge Assistants, You will enter survival version of this fight.
- Rewards
Loot from hard dungeons should be worth more. I came up with an idea to bring tokens for which we can buy crafting recipies, that will allow us to create ascendant and legendary gear. I want to introduce 2 types of tokens:
heroic forge tokens – allows to buy ascendant gear recipe, aviable only by killing heroic and survival mode bosses
legendary forge token – allows to buy legendary gear recipe, aviably only by killing survival mode bosses.
LEGENDARY WILL ADD ONLY COOLER LOOK NOT STATS ON IT. ASCENDANT GEAR HAS BEEN INTRODUCED ALREADY SO PROGRESS IN THIS AREA ISNT AGAINST THE ARENANET PHILOSOPHY.
On top of that bosses will drop crafting materials required to craft gear from the recipies:
ancient power saturated steel – steel saturated by the ancient power of firelord
ancient power saturated leather – leather saturated by the ancient power of firelord
ancient power saturated cloth – cloth saturated with the ancient power of firelord
ancient power saturated gem – gem saturated with the ancient power of firelord
Steel will be required to create heavy armor and weapons from weaponsmith
Leather will be required to create medium armor
Cloth will be required to create light armor
Gems will be required to create trinkets, rings, staffs, scepters (jewelcrafting, artificers etc).

Sorry in advance for my poor english, i checked this wall of text 2 times, but ofc i can lack of language knowledge in some aspects so i can’t correct all mistakes

Sorry for the infantile story, i couldn’t come up with sth better. I don’t have such talent like Ree Soesbee, i rather want to show my boss designs, how i see their mechanics and how i see this dungeon overall. I leave story for ppl that have way more talent than me. I just wrote the basic story behind this dungeon. It will probably not fit into the main lore of Tyria, maybe some of our community members can rewrite and make that story better. I just gave You the basic idea. As i said i want to focus on mechanics, loot and stuff like that. Artistic side of this „project” i leave to someone else.
1.Story
Tip: If it’s to long, just skip to the paragraph 2 „Main Mechanism”
Over 400 houndreds years ago, great forgeman Gunnar Fireborn created the great forge, where dwars in their prime made the most impresive armor and weapons. Unfortunately 20 years later some terrible thing has happened. Gunnar has built the forge deep under Shiverpeaks Mountains, but he didn’t know who was there before him.
It was Firelord Zanzul, ancient elemental, father of all fire elementals in Tyria. He’s been sleeping there, after he was sealed during elemental war. Airlord Nostram, Waterlord Lenfaz and Earthlord Galwan has stopped his destructive vision. All three elementals decided to sacrifice their power to seal him.
Gunnar, unaware of the history if this place, removed the seal, waking Firelord up. Zanzul didn’t react immediately, because his power was almost lost during the war, so he decided to meditate and gather his old ancient power again to fulfill his vision. He wanted to create the world only for elementals, destroying all life (dunno how write it well, basicly he wanted to destroy all humans, dwarves etc. He considered them as the worst pollution, that Tyria suffered from). Twenty years later Firelord Zanzul was ready. He released his fire children, that burned everything in its path.
Dwarves fought with the elementals, but soon the ancient power of Znazul filled the whole Forge. Firelord Zanzul showed himself to the dwarves. He looked like the huge titan covered by lava. His aura incinerated the area around him. Dripping lava created more elementals (dunno how cover it in better sentence
) and his breath burned everything in its path.
Gunnar decided to close him inside the forge. He didn’t want to let Firelord go outside the forge, so he ordered his comrades to distract Zanzul while he was closing and sealing every possible way that Firelord could use to go outside. It was obvious that he sacrificed life of almost all dwarves by doing this. Some dwarves escaped from the forge before Gunnar sealed the doors.
After closing all doors and ways, Gunnar prepared the plan to drag Zanzul into the deeper parts of the forge. They brought the most durable chains and wrapped Zanzul around. The temperature of Firelord was extremly high, so they had to pull him very fast. They made it. They pulled him down to the deepest part of the forge, Gunnar’s chamber. It was Gunnar’s room where he created the greatest creations. Zanzul fell into flaming steel boiler and „rolled” down to the lava hole. Steel binded his movement. Gunnar decided cool down the lava, so they could close the fire elemental lord in the hole. They made it, but before they closed the last „hole”, Firelord made his last fire breath, incinerating everyone inside the room. Gunnar and all dwarves inside died, sealing Firelord and protecting Tyria from the disaster.
Over 370 years later, Flame legion shaman Nezaja Flamefoot found out the old scrolls, written by dwarves that survived. He showed his finds to the Flame Legion leaders, but they ignored it. They were involved in war with other clans, and had no time and resources to find the forge.
Nezaja decided to search for this forge on his own. He gathered some forces and convinced dredges to come with him. After some years of searching, they found the forge and started to dig into it. Obviously they destroyed the seals on the doors. They started to look for the Firelord. Firelord felt the persence of charrs, and dredges. (and here is the most stupid thing i came up with
) He started to communicate with them, by using telepathy (like u know, C’thun in Ahn’Qiraj…well in one sentence, shaman Nezaja Flamefoot and his crew started to hear voices). They began the process of releasing Firelord.
Some agents from other charr clans tracked Nezaja’s plans, so they decided to look for „heroes” that will stop shaman.

I feel like GW2 was released to early, i feel that investors put a pressure under ArenaNet to release game earlier, thats why we have so many unfinished mechanics (spectator mode and more), so many bugs etc. Some events are unispired same as dungeon mechanics.
Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

The problem is, events in low lvl zones are very boring with few exceptions (Shadow Behemoth), rewards are kitteny so high lvls don’t bother to go back there. GW2 is designed to play with ppl, not for solo experience, so if u lvl ur alt in empty zone, yes it is boring. They need to do sth about it.
I have not so many time irl to play the game and the recent decisions about introducing ascended gear completly crushed my motivation to play PvE. I can sacrifice like 8 hours in week to play GW2 so farming fractals for ascended gear is…impossible, so i just stick to PvP. Three items are only the beggining
In general i think, im tired of MMO genere at all, nothing new and fresh on the market, i thought GW2 is different but again we have the same standard in more shiny package and the hype was ridiculous, so that’s probably my fault.
That’s my opinion and u can disagree with it.
Cause those people don’t really understand why they are upset. They can tolerate leveling and the journey from common to exotic because there is almost no work involved. They could also tolerate/ignore the leveling and gear system in game because they saw where it would end. There was a definite endpoint to how effective you could be: Exotics(+sigils). Now we have ascended gear. And no, not the complete set, so you could clearly see how much work you have to do until you’re finally done again. They spaced it out to make the journey longer. And when the complete set is released, they can just add new infusion tiers, because there are only fine’s now.
Those people just want to be done. They wouldn’t cry if there was only one tier of gear with one set of base stats. They wouldn’t cry if leveling didn’t give you more base stats, and just expanded your capabilities, like traits and utility slots do. They either want nothing to do with the journey of getting more powerful, or they want to ignore it, redefine it as a mandatory tutorial, after which they are fully equipped and 100% ready. They’re two different player philosophies, and you can only fully satisfy one of them at a time.I’m not saying everyone opposing ascended gear is like that, but there’s a portion of players that looked forward that the game would almost completely lack this kind of progression, and what there was of it could be completed without too much of a time investment.
There are actually ppl like “Go make progress content, but based on the skill, brain and coordination, not based on the gear”. I expected ArenaNet to add more and more dungeons that will be more deep with mechanics, including brain puzzles, hardcore mechanics etc. Reward can be cosmetics, some kitten looking armor that You can show off in LA.

While i understand Your point of view in some degree, You must understand that we talk now about endgame equality. With new expansion and rised lvl cap, endgame will be for instance on lvl 90. Yes, You will have to do the new zones, quests and hearts to ding max lvl , but at lvl 90 i expect the same equality with other lvl 90s, like now i expect equality with other lvl 80s.
Same as lvl 50 can’t compete with lvl 80 now. As i said, it is lvling experience not endgame experience. With new expansion we should talk about lvls 90 equality. Endgame experience is sth different from lvling experience.

In expansions its not a problem. If they raised lvl cap, it would be logical to introduce gear for the next lvl cap. Otherwise, if the lvl cap stays as it is now and they still introduces the next tier of gear, game wont be anything different than another WoW.
So you are saying if level went up… its not a treadmill? Wont players who haven’t played for a bit now be really left behind?
raising a level cap is the same as adding a gear treadmill, you now have to work again to be at max level, and attain new gear at the appropriate level just to compete. Infact, you wont be able to do higher level content now because you are still level 80, and you will NEED to get to the higher level to see and experience content. How would this be ok if people are freaking out over Ascended gear that barely changes anything, and you can still view all the content in the game without it?
It isn’t the same. With the expansion You get new zones and stuff that is appropriate for 81,82,83 and so on lvl untill You get to so called endgame. It is rather lvling experience than endgame experience. And now we talk endgame experience and not lvling experience.
pvp is another world (spvp) is not affected.
For now, but nothing stops them from introducing gear progression in PvP.
People have posted about this same topic. All threads get deleted, go to an unofficial forum if you want to discuss this. I’m not trying to white knight but you should treat people with decency instead of implying things that you know barely anything about.

Tobias, it’s true what You say, but i just wanted to pin out, that they can test those ideas on players before they put them on the live servers
why would someone care about NPC treadmill…do that npc tell you noob when you die or dance in your body for raise his e-stuff.
this is where you pve people lose credibility, you are fighting npcs for continue to fight npcs, thats not pay to win, you cant compare NPC fights to such statement
is hilarious to be honest, is practically another dungeon another npcs which will just give you another item, if it has more stats than exotic wont matter, you still can be in orr doing whatever you do, or in ac or arah doing whatever you do, in karka map doing whatever you do, having or not that gear wont have a great impact in any place, just in this dungeon which you can do or not.

If they introduced trademil in PvE, what stops them from introducing the same into PvP? Those decisions impacts all aspects of the game (ascendand gear will be avaiable in WvWvW too), because this gives the open gate for same changes not only in PvE, but in PvP too.
And Yes, it impacts me badly, cuz i can’t experience new dungeong, because i have to grind the gear before that will let me go and actually do sth there. It also divide ppl for those who have and those who have not and at the end it will end up with “gearscore scenario” like in other, well known, MMO.

wvwvw no matter if you have the top gear, if you dont match numbers you are nothingyour so called treadmill is only vs NPCs, thats not competition those arent players hence cant bring pay to win statement
this is what you all seem to not understand, i consider myself a hardcore player and i dont see this gear a problem, because wont give me benefits in pvp or in wvw at the end, just vs npcs…

You know, there was a time that was a statement of fact in GW1 and no amount of wringing your hands would change the fact you literally could not go with them.
As for the rest of this, well, there’s another issue. ArenaNet isn’t a person, it is made up of people. People make mistakes, they have ideas they think might be awesome but turn out to be only a subjective taste. (Vanilla vs chocolate vs strawberry icing, mustard vs ketchup as a condiment . . .) People sometimes compromise between choices of what they want to do, sometimes without adequately understanding what the results of that choice are going to be. People are invariably . . . flawed.

This is why i hate that ArenaNet has no Public Test Realms, to check those ideas on the community. They just threw what they had in their mind and put it on live servers. Also i believed that players wouldn’t be divided by gear as it appears to be now.
You can say “obtain ascended and you are ok”. Yes, but if they was able to introduce another tier of gear, there is nothing that can stop them from introducing “super extra legendary ascended gear” with greater stats and bonuses, which makes GW2 not different than other games on the market, and ArenaNet claimed that they are different. Maybe im stupid and i don’t understand sth, i don’t know. This is how i feel.
For me everything collapsed like a house of cards.
While i enjoyed the Karaka one time event, the “You know what addition” turned me off. I am the person that doesn’t have much time to play games, so i’ve fallen into ArenaNet philosophy of not having gear trademil. Now, after some time ,when i’m going to look for group i will definetly meet the wall, which will be “If You have not ascended, You can’t go with us”. I thought there will not be discrimination based on gear, cuz i believed there will be no gear trademil. With this update everything has changed.
I want to say sth to ArenaNet. Do not forsaken Your philosophy, do not fall under the whiners pressure. Whiners are minority, majority enjoyed the game as it was, without all this ascended crap.
I believe Your designers can make harder dungeon mechanics so players will feel their progress by making harder and harder content, but not determined by gear, but by their brain, skill and coordination. I feel You dont fully use the non-trinity potential, so i hope You will find the golden solution for it too.
Man, this is like a slap in the face.
Is it true? If yes i see very dark future for GW2, unfortunately and my faith and trust in ArenaNet will be lost forever.

I got dced at the end too and i got no loot reward…BUT…i’ve got the best reward i could get. Do You want to know what was it?
FUN, i got fun from playing the event and for me as a gamer it is the greatest reward i could get from playing the game, not the gear, not the kitten pixels, but enjoyment. You should grow up ppl and not take gaming so seriously. Just have fun playing and all Your problems will fade away.
I have only one request for ArenaNet. Don’t take the Blizzard path and don’t implement “whiners requests” especially when they are about Your core design of the game.
I really thought gear will not determine anything than apperance. Now You can guess, what gear trademill will bring to the Guild Wars 2. For now patch brings rings only, but what next months gonna bring? All sets, weapons? After a few months GW2 will become second WoW where ppl judge You by Your gear, not skill. I can see now situations when new players will have problems to get to dungeons, cuz they haven’t that particular gear, also existing dungeons will not be attractive, cuz dem offer weaker gear.
Make encounter harder not by rising its gear lvl requirement, but by designing more hardcore mechanics. Force players to use their brain, remove corpse run from the dungeons, so that will bring the wipe factor, make mobs more active, not just tank and spank, give ppl possibility to use the enviroment around, think about new PvE modes, not only dungeons.
There is a lot of room for PvE improvements for hardcore players. Make survival paths in dungeons with no possibility to ress after death (tp will appear after wipe), bring “brain” puzzles (not jumping puzzles) to the dungeons (for example in Asura style dung, there will be place with the “PC” and u will have to enter the code, every digit of the password you will be able to guess or reveal after completing math puzzles(text puzzles, sudoku<not very hardcore hard for math nerds
>), every bad password the system will spawn set of mobs and You have only 3 tries, after 3rd try protector boss will spawn and will open protector path to the players, if u enter password correctly that will open another path)…
Can anyone tell me what happened to the e-sport aspiration of GW2?
For now i see closed section of GW2 on esl website and no actuall info about plans when ArenaNet wants to start the real campaign to promote Guild Wars 2 on the e-sport arena.
I know we lack of Sepctator mode yet and balance , but 2 months passed and still no factual and clear info about that aspect.

Also was thinking about adding flying phase, but dunno what should he do while flying…dropping crystals? Maybe. I left flying phase for Tequatl the Sunless
Perhaps, the entire fight could be about keeping the cannons and mortars alive while people on the ground have to put enough dmg out to keep the dragon at bay from destroying the cannons. This would make for risky ground troop behavior and therefore make a harder dragon
He can just fly up and smash stuff so this is not the solution i guess.
Yes indeed i focused only on that particular encounter, cuz i felt, events like this, with big kitten bosses should be more…deep and interesting. Also i like ideas in Your thread, but for now i want to focus myself only on some boss fights, dungeons and new events that i’d like to add or tweak ingame

Your ideas require more like…revolution in the event system and that would be hard to implement at this point, it is rather an idea for future content. I want to focus on stuff we have now ingame and my ideas are some kind of tweaks that are easy to implement. Also i have some ideas for the new content (dungeons, events, boss fights etc) and i will post them soon, so stay tuned

Maybe ArenaNet should implement some kind of the editor, and players will create and design new dungeons, like you know, ppl making maps for Warcraft, Starcraft…sth like DOTA or so
You can’t simply remove the grind from the game. It’s not possible, cuz everyone would just stop playing after 2 days, having all the possible gear

Grind is not a problem, the problem is, how this grind is served and how well grind is hidden behind the content. ArenaNet nailed it almost perfect, but it is very very very hard to make non-repetetive content…it is impossible
At least they should release some kind of benchmark to test the performance
Maybe Arenanet could implement some kind of enrage timer. After some period of time the boss would decimate all npcs and players in the area…but i think it is not a good thing. World boss is hard to fail, since u can respawn at the travel point. The key should be the time, how long we fight with the boss and how complex and how fun the boss mechanics are

Hello community and ArenaNet team! I’d like to apologise You in advance for my poor english. It’s not my native but i always try my best
I’d like to show You my idea for improving The Shatterer fight. Fight isn’t bad, but additional spells and phases would be cool and it might make this dragon considerably more difficult.
I was thinking about it for some time and i think my ideas are cool. So basicly i’d add one additional phase and two spells. Also i’d change one little thing
So let me describe what i have in my mind

At some point in the fight, The Shatterer will jump to the place where the cannons are placed and crush them to the ground. After destroying cannons from 2 spots he will return to his „normal” place and summon CRYSTAL WALL. Behind this wall Shatterer will start to heal himself.
Then the phase begins. We will have to protect enginers while they are repairing the cannons…but it won’t be so easy. Depending on the amount of ppl in the area, dragon will spawn his minions. So basicly if there are small amount of ppl Dragon will spawn 4 Veteran status minions, otherwise he will spawn 2 minions with Champion status.
Players will have to kill them fast, cuz boss will heal himself (1% life per 15 seconds). Engineers will repair cannons for 12.5% of cannons life per 15 seconds.
FIRST ADDITIONAL SPELL
Crystal Wall – Makes boss invulnerable to all kinds of dmg. Also wall has very very very high resistance to the players attacks (like doors in WvWvW) it can be destroyed fast by using cannons

Minions spells
Minion phase 1
It’s simple as the other fights in GW2
PULL THEM BACK – Minion pulls enginer and starts to nuke him.(knocback will interupt it)
Whirlwind – simple spell that everybody knows how it looks and works
Pummel – stuns the target
Minion phase 2
In this phase, minion will cast spell named „Sacrifice”
Sacrifice – when the minion reaches 20% of his life, he starts run to the boss. He runs 30% faster (so cripple will be nice
). When he reach him he heals BOSS for 5% of Shatterers life if the add is Veteran status and 10% if the add is a Champion.
While Sacrifice players will have to nuke down the add as fast as possible, but it will not be easy.
Do NOT TOUCH ME! - Minion will knock back targets from melee range and blinds ranged dps for 5 seconds, also he becomes invulnerable to dmg attacks for 3 seconds (only knock back and pull works, you know, for instance the 5th spell from Guardian’s Greatsword tier)
After cannons are fixed players take down the wall(it would take approximately 4 shots from the cannons) and the normal fight starts again

Crystal Storm – Dragon spawns several crystal storms. crystal storm does dmg (matter of balance how much it would take
).
If the player is inside the crystal storm he becomes weakened.
If the minion is inside the crystal storm it gains might and healing condition.
If there are no ppl in the main battle area, Shatterer spawns crystal strom on cannons
THE CHANGE
If minions are close to the boss, they gain might and vitality buff. Ppl will have to split their forces into two. Ppl who „tank” minions and ppl who kills „toe”
That’s it. Please, tell me what do You, community, think about this idea.
Also i have some ideas how to improve Tequatl and some other bosses, also i have tons of ideas for new content like DE’s, dungeons, boss fights etc. If u want to hear (read
) them just tell me and i’ll post them here.
Word to ArenaNet. I love your game, but some fights could be more complex, players aren’t dumb, even if there is no structured raiding in GW2. Also i’m aware of budget and technical limitations, but this game deserves more „epic” fights
. I hope You will not get my words as an insult or sth, same as You i want this game to be the best on the market!

I’ve been redirected here from this thread, but this simple thread is not enough for the “gamers as designers” idea. You know, posting here an idea of the particular encounter like DE, boss fight, or dungeon will be lost in a ton of spam posts. Also I hoped that our thoughts will be open for community judgement and opinion.
So this is my final suggestion for the forums and i will not repeat myself 12313132 times(there is no forum suggestion thread either…). Create a section, that will be dedicated for the players, who will post their ideas of new DE’s, Dungeons, Boss figts etc. Not improvements to the current gameplay, but ideas for a new stuff.

I have some ideas for Dynamic Events, Dungeon encounters, Boss fights etc., but for now, with current forums i see no place where i can post them. My last topic about my dream fight with Zhaitan here( it wasn’t finished tbh i wanted to make it more detailed, but i had no chance) was closed, cuz it didn’t belong to the fan-generated content section. Well i understand that your judgement was based on my opinion about Zhaitan fight there, but You know…Same as You, dear developers, we – fans, want this game to be the best, so You have to understand us
I’m sure there are a lot ppl like me who have ideas, that can be used by ArenaNet or not
, but we need a place where we can express ourselfs. At least create some sort of Off-topic section, where we would be able to post our ideas and put them under the community judgement
I KNOW, this topic is in the wrong section, but there is no forum suggestion thingy where i can post this topic.

Well i’ve always wanted to become a game designer. I create some models 3D, but they are nowhere near compared to the models made by artists in the industry
, Unfortunately there is no game design uni near my homeplace so i have to learn everything on my own. But meh, everyone has a right to catch their dreams.
I have a lot of ideas for DE’s, dungeon encounters and stuff, i’ll be happy to post them here soon, ofc if u want to read them.
