1) We have no idea how to fight in a 5-man squad; being mostly solo or duo runners; and,
2) Both NSP and DH have tendencies to hate animals. Almost all of you are monsters!

I would have hoped that what I took as obvious baiting would be equally as apparent to everybody else; but clearly not. Let me highlight what I really think (all baiting aside) about this week’s alliance, or truce, or pact, or what have you:

I am having a lot of fun; and clearly the temporary push on DH by both servers was an interesting change. All forum warriors aside (from all three servers, mind you), I’m sure a lot of players are equally as interested in seeing which server comes out on top this week (I’m also aware that this will probably entice those aforementioned warriors to make remarks about “backstabbing”, “truce-breakers”, “PvDers”, etc. etc. Yeah, we’ve heard it all before).

As a mainly solitary player myself, it’s fairly easy to gain an appreciative view of the whole situation, without having a particularly strong bias towards my home server. I see a server that has a lot of potential in terms of numbers and masses looming in third place due to a push that the two weaker servers have somewhat coordinated throughout the week. However, that leaves the two weaker servers to squabble over first place. Would it not be logical, then, for those two servers to begin to attack each other?
As highlighted by today’s events – yes, it is. NSP has stated that IoJ has broken the “alliance”; but how else is IoJ meant to attain a first place position? Were they supposed to be content with second? Perhaps a deepfound animosity between the two servers is the driving factor of the forum flaming; but I do want to draw everybody’s attention from both IoJ and NSP that DH is the real threat here, and if we continue to squabble with eachother, we’re going to be in the same spot as last week – DH in first, IoJ in second, and NSP in third. That’s boring!

This is what I meant to re-iterate; and I suppose I wasn’t very clear in my original comment – any group of players that are reasonably competent will not have a problem with smaller numbers. It’s just the way the game is designed. I do not contest that a group of 5 was wiped by a solo player – I myself have performed on such a basis on numerous amounts of times – I am contesting, however, that a group of competent players would have lost haha. No offense meant.

This has gone from a pointless spiel about HARD members trying to “reset fights”, to HARD members running from fights, to one about people running from duels; all of which are completely abhorrent topics to argue about, considering everybody has subjective views on such disputes.

Personally, if I am in a 5v1, and I have been focused by that solo player, who has somehow managed to burst through both my heal and my active defensive capabilities, I will be doing everything in my ability to get my health up. That includes running from the fight whilst my teammates attack that solo player. In regards to this ACTUALLY happening, I highly doubt that you had a 5v1 with the guys from HARD and survived long enough to burst someone down. No player, regardless of skill level, class, ability, talent, whatever, can handle a 5v1 against any sort of reasonably competent team; and I know that all of the HARD guys do have reasonable competence. There’s only two scenarios that I can assume from this case: a) you’re talking bullkitten, which is the greater likelihood, or b) you’re specced for pure damage, with pure berserker gear; and the person that you JUST HAPPENED to attack, was also in pure berserker gear, allowing you to burst through the aforementioned heal.

Regardless; please, you clearly have enough rage inside you to complain about “fight resetters”, so I’m sure you can find the mental capacity to type your hate-speech in a reasonable manner that doesn’t make all of our heads hurt after reading it.

Where all my roamers/small-man groups at? I’ve had some great 1v1’s this week at the front of NSP’s ruins in EB, and roaming the northern parts of the respective borderlands – although I see a lot of 2’s and 3’s, not many solos.

Good fights all around today. Hopefully NSP wasn’t too surprised as I popped out from behind the back of Quentin Lake whilst you were holding it off a furious DH horde. I’d been hiding there since IoJ tried to do a sneaky after DH got that wall down; but the commander at the time didn’t want to upset you guys. After that I decided to have a little bit of fun and play with your siege a little – even running up to your lord’s room and seeing what the guys on the AC’s thought of my illusionary swordsman!

Oh yeah, and you guys should really be thankful that we brought the health of those DH omega golems down for you when they took our keep. It cost us a waypoint – but at least you guys didn’t lose yours! :P (Btw DH, I’d totally swear revenge, but sadly I have my last three exams the rest of this week, so I’m completely stressed about other, much less important stuff than wubwub. )

I’m glad you found enjoyment in dancing on my corpse, Mr Guardian! Sadly I couldn’t replicate it when I went for you first as you were hitting the camp – I was too busy getting away from that NSP group that slaughtered your buddies. I may have had a hand in slowing them down as they tried to run away, though. Maybe next time they would have made it without my chaos storm giving them the chills, hehe.

Awesome roaming with DH and NSP Had some great 1v1’s and 1v2’s today south of SM – but I just can’t stand up to a 1v7 when [KiLL] surprises me by jumping over the SM wall.

Oh well, got my revenge at Golanta a bit later.

Overall fights though; super challenging! Really evenly matched tier, IMO. I haven’t really been keeping attention to the score values and PPT, but it seems that IoJ’s Oceanics did some great things last night.

@Fellblade – That SM 3 way battle was EPIC, held SM against AR and SBI zerg hitting us from north and south LOL! Was so stressing commanding there i was expecting an insta wipe, but nope! Held it for what, 1 or almost 2 ticks? Might have been the adrenaline that made it feel like forever, AR and SBI just kept coming after dying. Till that mesmer ported SBI to the 3rd floor it was game over with that last flank while AR was fighting us north

Yeah; it was A LOT of fun. Thankfully some of our REC and INF guys had bunkered down with two superior ballistas in that northern hall for all that time!

You did an excellent job nonetheless. That first portal defense was awesome; but we just didn’t have the numbers or the siege set up to hold off a push from both the north from AR, the second floor portal from SBI AND SBI’s smaller push from the south.

I still got my loot bags in the end, though! :P

Both AR and SBI’s pushes were impeccable – SBI from the top floor and AR from the north entrances. My little arrow cart couldn’t keep up with all those numbers.

To the small group of ALS and WAR that hangs around the IoJ ruins in EB a lot of the time – you guys should really work on your game. You’re really awesome at hitting that solo player that’s running to the zerg! But when you’re faced with even numbers; gosh, all I ever see is your back and a mesmer’s veil as you run away!

BTW, I’m the mesmer that you guys threatened to “hunt”. I’m yet to die from one of you ALS guys 1v1… or even 1v2. In fact, I don’t think any of you have killed me yet. :S All talk, by the looks of it!

We’ve enjoyed the fights this week, though we haven’t seen many roaming, organized groups on IoJ or SBI (5-10 mans). This isn’t a troll post, do you guys have any? We’d love to watch for the tag while we’re out and about.

[roam] generally runs around at roughly 8am EST (11pm oceanic); however we’re only a 3-man team. I assure you, we do pack quite the punch. The only other proper small-man and guild groups that I know of that provide those sorts of numbers are REC and INF; and I’ve also seen JQ far out in enemy territory; but only in duo-trio groups.

I fought an excellent SBI HGH engineer using double pistols south of SM today. Had to do a few clutch heals in order to try and stay alive; but eventually he bested me. Awesome job; hope to see you in the field again. I think the guild tag was [sT] or something?

I’m a roamer at heart, and so far I’ve had a lot more challenging (and far more interesting) encounters than the past few months of enemies have shown us.

A tip to the perma-stealth thief that I came up against at the AR vista hill in EB – you’re never going to get me down when I have three phantasms up and am on full health. Too bad that SBI 5-man that ran over us will.

There is no way that IoJ has more players in WvW during Oceanic prime time than NA prime time. It might seem that way because of how much points you make but that’s more because you are fighting absolutely nothing.

I’ve seen our main oceanic commander with a zerg of roughly 30-35; whilst another zerg of our’s was large enough to draw orange swords at a different part of the map. During this time we also had smaller groups hitting other borderlands consisting of 10-15 players.

Believe it or not; that’s my experience, and I generally play on a nightly basis (Australian time).

But thank you for questioning my experience with counting players.

EDIT: NOTE: I hope you’re not actually talking about reset night, though. Because it should be fairly obvious that all servers will have a larger amount of players during this time than, say, during the week.

No one complained about night capping, we just responded to the kitten talking and chest thumping that you guys did after your night capping. Look at our threads with GoM, they night capped every day and no one cared cause they kept it quiet and even admitted that it was the only reason they were winning.

ANYONE from ANY server that complains about those that play outside of the apparent “only important time” that is the NA prime has their head so far up their kitten they can see their own teeth. One player’s “night capping” is another player’s prime time. NA prime is NOT the only time that matters, quite often is the time zone filled with the largest portion of brain dead morons following the blue Dorito and 12 year old chest thumpers, they are the truly arrogant ones because THEIR time is the only one that matters, and anyone outside of their playing period is apparently ALWAYS bad, not important and arrogant players? Hmmm I guess I shouldn’t expect any different considering America is the KING of arrogant, self righteous, stuck up, bubble world, loud mouthed morons am I right? Although I do know that’s overly harsh as I’m sure it’s just a vocal minority but for those that are vocal it stands true.

But DR’s prime time isn’t IoJ’s prime time. Our ‘night crew’ (which is really just the Australian 8pm-1am time) is a larger player base than our NA crew.

Well, don’t you think you two are a little bit contradictory to each other? AFAIK, we didn’t do well in IoJ BL, not so well in EB like you do, and our homeland security was a mess.

I saw too many IoJ in our borderland, that’s why I said you’re different, not only because your previous two matches with DH and SF. You can defend IoJ BL, hold EB of your part and SM (I didn’t track how long you held it tho, but quite a while if it’s not all yours) Our people in FC BL after reset held FC’s south east side during NA prime time, but I think IoJ were there, too.

I’m not 100% sure what you’re trying to imply, but I’m assuming you’re complimenting us? I don’t doubt that we’ve gotten better over the past few weeks with DH and SF. Despite our small disputes with both servers, we’ve come across some excellent learning experiences. As well as that, we’ve had a lot more commanders tag up recently, which means we’ve got a lot more co-ordination. I’ve also started to see a lot of independent guilds that break off from the zerg and flip their own targets.

Obviously there’s no way to measure how good a server is on the open field; I’ve seen times where we’ve been completely wiped by DR squads of lesser or equal numbers than our’s – and yet I’ve also seen us fighting your server with the same odds and we’ve also prevailed.

Whilst I agree that there’s nothing amazing about having a +595 ppt when your enemy is outmanned, why do we needlessly argue over this on the forums? We’ve gone over the same points over and over again; and clearly nobody is going to be the “bigger man” and just stop the forum flaming, haha.

Fun times tonight in DHBL. First time tagging up on the offensive; started out with a group of about 6 or 7, got up to roughly 20 at one stage – not enough to bring up orange swords, but just enough to have an effective portal bomb into your lord’s room, hehe.

I was, however, seriously disheartened by the amount of siege sitting in lake. Especially when my freshly built arrow cart dropped down to 0 health before I could even get my guys to build up a ram.

Thank you to my IoJ guys that followed me – and the patience you guys had when we were taking that tower, slowly. An excellent learning experience for me and my [roam] guys.

Also as a side note to anybody who sees us around ([roam]), we’re always happy to have a friendly duel or small-man vs small-man. Otherwise, you’ll probably see a stake to the face!

In the good-spirited nature of the thread (and yes, I am aware we’ll be fighting eachother next week again), I’d just like to make a few shout outs to some of the guys that my team – and just me solo – have been coming up against. [PD], you guys work great in synergy together. I haven’t gone up against you with my own team, but I have fought you solo, and also dueled one of your mesmers. In the later I won, but only barely.

[KING]; always fun to fight you. You’ve got a reputation on IoJ as the guys to watch out for – and for good reason. I’ve also had some great 1v1’s with some of your guys; learned a few things from Seven, and made friends with Dreadmode. Good times!

Once again; good fights, everyone have fun, don’t kitten on the forums (yeah, I’m guilty of this, but it’s a bad habit!), and hit Fellblade up in game if you want to organise some fights at all. Otherwise look for the round, white eyes and the [roam] tag. You’ll know me when you see me.

Dear Mrs DH Squire! I’m glad we both found the humour in me running laps around SM; you simply unable to get the hit on me, but both of us being locked in this everlasting chase! If only your buddies hadn’t have shown up; we could have kept going forever… <3

Fun fights this morning, with [PD] patrolling the southern part of IoJ BL. Very annoying fights. That class combination you guys have going is excellent; and it’s clear you guys work very well together. I’m the little mesmer with the white eyes that you stomped about ten times. Although, I did have a chuckle when I was lying at the portal to briar with you guys trying to prevent my colleagues from resurrecting me; only to have the zerg come along.

Also, I hope you’re not associating yourselves with that Charr ranger that was exhibiting some very suspicious behavior, such as being able to run backwards faster than I was able to run forwards (without any speed boosts except his signet – which shouldn’t be giving him such a significant boost), and jittering around a lot (I also assure you that this was not my internet connection that was the cause of this – footage of my teammates and other enemies running around very smoothly has been recorded.)

Now, I am aware that this sounds very weak, but I hope everyone can understand that when you’re fighting someone 1v1, and you’re clearly winning, it’s pretty low to resort to what some people refer to as “hacking”. Sadly, I have no proof other than a recorded video of the fight. I’ve also reported the player, so I can’t really do much more than that.

Good fights last night, both duels in SFBL and on the open field. This match-up has made a turn for the better.

Also, how much support would an organised fight club have in this tier? We had one with DR in the match-up, but haven’t seen anything official organised since.

Shout out to the group of DH and SF in southern IoJ just then! Was an awesome three-way fight. Had a lot of fun with the human mesmer from [KING], and the two thieves from [PvP]. I was the little asura with creepy eyes from [HARD].

Also, how about we get a fight club organised for this tier some time soon? I’ve run in to a lot of small groups, and a lot of them have told me that they’re definitely interested in duels and small fights. I’d organise it myself, but I’m not very accustomed to American time zones as I’m one of those terrible PvD guys from Australia.

If tagging mobs is your main concern, I’d pop 20 points in to the first tier, and grab the trait that gives your enemies confusion upon entrance/exit of the fields that you put down. That way you can pop your chaos storm, feedback and null field, and whenever a bad guy walks into it or out of it, they get a few confusion ticks. Even with the -50% confusion nerf, this will still enable you to tag fairly easily.

Also, it’s always a good idea to party with some level 80’s for the damage-share. I’m afraid this is the only advice I have, as I much prefer small-group play.

I’ve been watching your videos, because I want to know how to counter that build and the master behind it, and I’ve learnt a fair bit about it. If you’re referring to that moment out the front of SM, that was me Little Asuran mesmer. I took out the sentry, and heard some DH guys laughing, so I went to check it out. Couldn’t let that 3v1 happen! :P
