That doesnt make sense. Why would you let someone who has a commander icon or a legendary stop you from working to get yours. There is no quota on how many can be in the world. If they paid money for it how does that effect you? You don’t have to follow a commanders orders in WvW.

The price to buy dusk with real world dollars is like $500 just for precursor to put the whole thing together for a legendary is alot more than that. I doubt you will see that many people running around with them. You need like close to a mil Karma which means alot of grinding since the changes. It can be done but you have to be determined. Karma cant be bought with money.

Can you post a link to that information? I’d be interested in reading it. Lindsay did respond to my question by confirming the “odds” had not changed in the Oct. 7 patch, but I really should’ve been less-precise in how I asked.

The OP provided their experience, and while 1:25 isn’t a terribly informative set of information, it was alarming enough for them to post about it, and also contributes a lot more than “Welcome to science”.

Does it contribute to a post full of hyperbole like Mystic Forge nerfed again? When it wasn’t nerfed in the first place because surely Forging 2 Godskull level 65 GS and 2 exotics in increasing your chance to get dusk using that combination wasn’t intentional. So it wasn’t a nerf anyway.

Last I checked Jofast and Plinx where working fine. 1 of the events did bug yesterday but Im not sure which one. Not a major one though.

That’s because 80% of the Legendary requirements come down to “farm Orr like a Bot”.

Thats your idea of the endgame is the Legendaries and many other people for some reason. Legendaries are not the endgame if you don’t choose them to be.

Hmmm farming some ori or and hardened leather squre.

Some CoE dungeons in there also for the Chargd lodestones or buying it off TP

And Some AC running. Not much Orr there except to get the ori.

Many people like the Foe Fire bow more than the Legendary so they will go for that as there most coveted weapon and if weapon = endgame. Then farming orr DE’s is not something they have to do.

In order to make money people are going to have to part with Globs of Ecto. You either sell them or use them in a weapon that will make you money. Or armor for that matter. Thats where the money is. I was on cursed shore for about 2 hours and got 11 globs with my MF set on. That would have gotten me about 1.5g if I sold it. If I use it to craft a armor or weapon then I can possibly double or triple it.

I took my numbers straight from in game. At that time thats what it would run you. Now after an over night and bots doing there usual work it might go down. When I wrote that it was defintely 100g.

so you are comparing a Greatsword to a Scepter… a Scepter which one person is trying to sell for more than the Precursor Scepter (current 99.99.99 vs the 135.00.00).

And you are trying to use this one person trying to sell this one item at an outlandish price compared precursor of another class…

This is what we call an outlier, we ignore these for a reason, because they are part of the insane randomness of life that do not support real information.

Lets compare precursor Greatsword to non-precursor Greatsword.

Dusk: 350.00.00

Dawn: 300.00.00

Valkyrie Destroyer Greatsword: 44.50.00

Valkyrie is more common recipe is more common.

The reason the scepter is so high is because only 1 person has made it. He posted on gw2guru the price he was listing it for. Its rare right now. He is the one that discovered the recipe. Do you think he has the market cornered on Giant Eyes too? They have all shot up in price a lot since he posted a video and pics of this scepter.

I also did not compare the scepter to a greatsword. I was comparing rare non precursors to all the precursors. See how you just plucked that out of there and ran with a counter.

Also I was comparing costs vs sale. To craft immobolus is going to run you at least 100g, Jormags Breath 100g, the majority of the Exotics crafted via forge are going to cost around or close to 100g.

So far many people think Immobulos looks better than the Legendary scepter. That will drive price up also. You could have at least looked it up and on the net before replying its obvious you didnt at all.

I also pointed out other weapons like Firebringer 1 hand sword that bursts into flames when you unsheath it. Looks plain when wielded everyone is after particle effects. Particle effects = money. The better looking the weapon the more it will cost.

In the end twilight and the other legendaries are particle effects with exotic level 80 stats. Why even be upset about there costs in the first place when you can get a pearl berserker sword with the same stats just without the cool factor? Its called ego.

The prices make sense will they fall eventually. Right now player base is to give me now cause I have to do all this stuff to make it so the weapon should be free. The people selling dont care how much karma you stacked or grinded they dont know any of this probably they don’t care either.

As long as there are non precusor exotics in the 100g-150g range precursors will stay high priced. As long as the mats to create those non precusor exotics with effects are high the non precusor exotics will remain high in price. Its really simple to understand.

To craft Visions of the Mist: 250 orichalum greatsword blades= roughly 86g (thats being generous)

250 globs of ectoplasm= 38.40

100 mystic coins=3.80

Total= 128g How much do you think anyone make money from this sword will sell it for?

Now they can collect the materials which will take a while and is TIME. The skill points for the eldricth scroll is time. Then just go look up what it would cost to craft the thing if they bought it all on gw2spidy and it still I am will to bet be sold over 100g

Dusk is 350g right now on the TP with buy orders at 250. Buy orders basically being like layaway as people collect the money they put in to purchase the weapon. Demand is definitely there

Dusk is the highest marked Precursor on the market as usual.

Immobulus is the second highest NON-Precursor on the Market at 135g its higher than some of the precursors like the scepter. To craft Immobulus will run you about a good 100g plus skill points on top. There are only 231 giant eyes on market right now as I type this. 230 is going to run you 80g and you still need another 20.

Jormags breath there was 1 up yesterday at 135g don’t know if it sold there are 4 now at 99g really amazing looking sword. Will run you about 100g just to make if you buy the mats. 64g or so for the blades and 40g or so for the corrupted lodestones.

These last 2 are the highest NON Precursors priced on the market. The legendary precursors are probably the most wanted precursors on the market. If there are NON precursors selling for about 100+ gold of course precursors will be sold for higher than those.

The people selling them probably don’t care it takes you time to finish it. Think if you wanted to farm and craft Jormags breath or Immobolus not buying the items on TP. That is still going to take you a long time. Seems people aren’t looking at the market right below precursors it only makes sense.

Volcanus and Foe Fire essence recipes havent been found Firebringer was on tp for a day at 135g havent seen it since. The Mesmer weapons havent really hit TP yet either I think axe is like 85g more than the Precursor Mace.

As more Non precursor exotics with cool effects are discovered precursor prices will drop. I doubt by a ton like 60g as long as there is a demand for Non exotics and I am pretty sure Volcanus and Foe Fire will be very expensive. The price for mats makes the non precursors expensive which in turn makes the weapon more expensive I mean the crafter does want a profit I am sure.

Its possible the buy orders are fake maybe but its possible they arent. If people are putting in a bid of 250g maybe they get it. A guy said he sold dusk for 300g that he got from trying to get the Lover cause he used forge stone in last slot with 3 bows the outcome is random.

TLDR:

Non Precursors are selling for more than some precursors in the 100g range with more still undiscovered like Elementalists Conjure sword. If everyone and knows that precursors are the top wanted weapons they will drive price up. Also if you pay attention to the precursors you will see that say there are 4 lovers available at 300g as soon as 1 is bought the price goes up because supply has decreased but demand remains the same.

Heck even a tier below that destroyer weapon prices have gone up over the past week. Corrupted has gone down a little for 1h weapons.

I think the preview feature is huge! The more I think about it the more I think it is needed. Right now what drives exotic market weapons and armor is looks. People don’t want to gamble buying something they think doesnt look good. There are alot of really great weapons that I think many people havent seen like Jormags breath I think this will help with alot of the talk about legendaries and so forth I mean stats are the same effects a little less. A sword like jormags breath is really amazing and I would love to have it. I think others would agree if they have seen it but information on weapon skins is all over the place on the internet and not really centralized
