WvW players here is the solution to thieves!

Take the other 2 exits from the spawn don’t go out front!! Wait what?

Yes thieves are = spawn camping in WvW. You know if you take a group of 5 players have them go camp the enemy spawn eventually you will get a ball out there because people will stay and fight.

There are side exits but people don’t take them cause they wanna fight. Its just like a thief if you are a group of 8 and you get distracted by a thief for 5-10 minutes chasing him. Your not running supply, building siege etc.

In WvW the objective is to win by points which is accomplished by objectives. How can people qq that thieves are OP when a thief killing you or you chasing a thief with 5 of your buddies does nothing for the score?

A thief distracting 4 or 5 people for 10 minutes is more valuable in the grand scheme then you 1v1 a thief winning or losing. You or those group chasing a thief don’t ignore the chase and go build a arrow cart you turn into a bull chasing a Matador.

to the OP: I see this stuff all the time. One P/D conditions type of thief griefing a group. Best to just ignore them zerg up and move on. They are playing the game in god-mode.

The worst of it is this is the type of IMBA class that attracts the min/maxers that know the mechanics of the game inside-out. Really playing WvW as something other than a thief /DD ele is sub-optimal right now.

balancing patch is coming on the 14th so tough it out until then.

edit – LOL I just saw that the OP is an ele. Did you know that the DD bunker ele is the most OP WvW class in the game right now and the only thing that thieves fear? Do some research on the ele forums and respec

Here is the problem with many peoples WvW logic. The bold above says everyone should be rolling thief and ele in WvW to be optimal.

I have 3 choices to put on a Ram while I attempt to seige Stone Mist which has defenders. A p/d thief, bunker ele, bunker guardian. I think Ill go with the guardian.

Posts like this make no sense if we are being honest here.

WvW is team game (see first bold) move with zerg do something useful like supply, or build siege, get camps etc. That what WvW is about not griefing.

Second bold is its imba, but would’t it be imba if WvW was about griefing, duels, and 1vX?

If WvW was a deathmatch then maybe some of these complaints would have merit but its not a deathmatch. You can’t have it both ways the objective of the game mode is points and points don’t tally from killing ppl in 1vX’s.

Whats imba is that the group gets distracted because they switched their mind into second bold and stopped thinking about the objective. Thats what needs a fix WvW mentality for the complainers.

If I’m roaming my thief Im looking to grief/troll people. They might be headed to revale to pick up that 15 supply buff their guild put down. If I hold up a group of 5 and or 6 for 5 – 10 minutes I did my job. What it takes is the bigger person in that group to say lets leave the thief and get this supply.

A thief trolling a group of people is the same as sending a small group to spawn camp. If you send a group of 5 to spawn camp you are going to have people that know there are 2 side exits but wont take them why? They want that blood

But for the record, yes, I do think a group of 8 should win against a single equally powered player every time no matter what class, and if they can’t, there is something wrong there.

I read the initial post. Your flawed logic is thinking you should win! *Reading your post win=kill * so you chased a thief around because you wanted the blood.

Thats the problem is everyone sees a kill and tunnel vision ensues. There must be a victor I suppose. Myself I see making the person run away when they are low health as a win but thats just me. I rarely chase unless I know I can get them. You can’t really chase a thief.

Take a d/d bunker ele in WvW they will run up in a group of 5 or 6 in plane sight because they know they can get away most of the time if things go sour. The d/d ele can kill all 5 or 6 of those players if they arent good and its in plane sight no hiding no stealth right there in your face.

Now a d/d ele runs up to 2 experienced players he can get roflstomped. The same can be said about many classes.

Popping thieves guild vs a dagger thief gives you some blinds to reduce the effectiveness of the thief. Why wouldn’t I want to pop it? I don’t pop it at the beginning it depends on how the fight is going honestly sometimes I do sometimes I don’t.

I could care less if I actually kill the thief honestly. A stabby thief wants that blood usually they want to open first thieves guild helps you reset the fight in case you got caught off guard. Then its just down to skillzz. Guess it depends on what kind of thief your fighting though.

I always assume every thief is back stabby from the beginning until the fight starts.

Its ok video I just switched to thief and run p/d. What makes bills videos good imo is that he runs 2 venoms and signet instead of blinding or refuge which means his CnD’s are spot on when he is fighting 5 people.

I think trolling with refuge and blinding powder isn’t really difficult. I tried running all invis skills and its easier to mess with a group of people or take 1 or 2 people down with extra invis then it is running no invis utility.

The number 1 flaw in all these threads I keep seeing is people see blood want blood. They then get upset when they can’t have blood.

Your situation basically sounds like you had a group of 8 (some had to not be very skilled) and you feel as though you should be able to kill every profession that rolls up on you.

I doubt this guy killed people fast enough that even if they did down someone you couldn’t rez them. There is no way a p/d thief killed that many ppl unless you had the hero that leaves the group and chases. I love those guys

20,633 health, 1281 toughness. I got hit for 15367 damage in UNDER a second. If I was an Ele with lower health I’d be dead aka one shut in UNDER a second.
So:
1.My armor is half vitality and half toughness

Your armor might be half vitality and half toughness but what pieces are is important. Looking at your numbers your glass. Thats why everyone is saying your glass.

Don’t look at your numbers for health. Look at vitality!! Half and half would be 2k vit, 2k toughness. All that vitality does nothing with that little bit of toughness. I have more toughness than you and 16k health pool on my thief and I survive a mug and backstab.

Its obvious from your post you don’t understand the stats and gearing at all. Your setup will help you deal with conditions but will be terrible against burst.

Your also talking about WvW you can spec what ever you like but not one spec is going to beat everything in WvW. That would be imbalanced.

OP, keep in mind you are posting this to a bunch of thieves. They’re not going to be happy with you asking to take away their invulnerability.

What the OP should have done is roll and or play a thief. Then posted about a single fix or something.

Everyone that plays a thief will tell you that channel skills follow you when your in stealth.

Still point stands that Mesmer has alot of very potent abilities. Most of them are indirect skills but they are strong, and portal in WvW is more useful than any other single skill in the game and makes and breaks offenses, sieges, and keep ninjas regularly.

I’ll let this be my last post here. Arena net will sort it out and many of you will be upset then. But I think they will fix alot of the bugs and buff up some of the weaker points as well.

Seriously Ral you are exposed. Your original OP is about Temporal and the Pull and you say you play a mesmer. There is a difference between played and play. I think you when to the mist or something but I don’t think you have extensive time with a mesmer and its obvious from that post.

Your arguments in both threads are met with you can’t have all these abilities on 1 class thief or mesmer. So its obvious you did some research but not enough. Also you are pretty much WvW centric and all your posts reflect that.

Temporal curtain is for the speed buff the pull is a bonus and it isn’t that great. Easily dodge. If your being sieged and you cant see the mesmer that is pulling then you probably wont get pulled of the keep. You only get pulled off the keep if you jumped up and stood on the edge other wise the edges prevent you from being pulled off even if multiple mesmers pull you.

So according to the wiki critical damage transfers to illusions but others have said that it does not and there threads with testing saying that it does transfer but the implimentation is off. As in it seems to be applied during the initial attack and then isn’t present. Does anyone know for sure what is exactly up with this stat for mesmers? Im sure it gets applied to things like mind wrack etc since those count as the mesmer actually casting the spell.

I can see this working somewhat if you wanted to focus on bleeds for your mesmer. I was thinking to try something like this for fun sometime. Since staff is such a wacky weapon with all the randomness. I think it would be best to find a set of runes that just effects condition duration as a whole like 4 piece nightmare and and another set. then eat some rare veggie pizza. if you could get duration up decently to say 5 secs on any effect from winds of chaos and chaos storm it could be nasty.

There is a post somewhere on guildhead.com that talks about how condition duration cant be better than condi damage if you can increase the duration long enough

So I was thinking about vulnerability condition a little more and I am starting to think rendering shatter actually might be a really undervalued trait.

Vulnerability is a condition which increases damage the target takes by 1%

That is all sources if you use gs2 thats 3 stacks of vulnerability per bounce traited you can get 9 sometmes so putting 12 stacks on someone in the opening of a fight isnt terribly difficult. Thats all sources now your GS 2 vulnerability is 8secs which is a long time Ill have to test with more condition duration to see if you can increase but I dont see why not. Shatter vulnerability is 8s. sword vulnerability is 5s and those clones really poke fast stacking it quickly.

So if you have 13 stacks of vulnerability on someone thats 13% more damage from all sources. If you have to chose between mental torment and and rendering say if you only have 20 points in dom and want gs training I think rendering might be a better choice.

So you will be doing more damage which includes all your normal attacks but also your shatters and your phantasms do more and its easy to apply non stop. Maybe im late to party on this one but I think this trait is really good and up there with the other top traits not close to necessary but really really good.

Well if you look over this thread not everyone got a precursor from the chest it wasn’t 100%.

Look at the event like a stimulus package in a sense. Everything will correct itself in TIME. It has only been a 2 days since the event ended and I can see prices starting to rise back up on many items.

How can you farm, when you hit the DR every 10 minutes? Now that the botters are as good as gone, maybe its time to remove the DR from the loot.

The DR is an additional method to slow the impact of bots its in place to actually help reduce the impact of bot farming. Why remove it? Just don’t farm in the same place for extended periods of time. Farm some blood on the new island which is a great place to farm from the shelks there. Go to cursed farm some bones. Go to frostgorge farm some scales. Is the DR really 10 minutes? I don’t believe that but I’ll go do some searching. I know for karma that is not the case for sure.

Should Legendary items be truly Legendary?

From the Oxford English Dictionary:
Legendary: 1. of or connected with legends. 2. described or based on a legend. 3. remarkable enough to be the subject of legends.

So, which one of those exactly implies the way to obtain a legendary item? If you trip on Excalibur while walking your dog…does that make the sword itself any less legendary? No, it doesn’t. Because its status is based on the legend behind it not the way you got it. I think you should reread the definition you gave yourself and think why your post makes no sense.

The achievements system is right there, all it needs is to be hooked up. Let any master crafter create the item, but you can’t equip it until your character has the necessary achievements. That would also allow ArenaNet to create specific quests and achievements that would mean that it truly means something to wield these items.

Do that and Legendary items will deserve their Legendary title. Until then, legendary items will remain merely expensive end-game gloss.

Where is the suggestion in your post besides Acheivements which is really vague. This is the same as all the Recipe precursor threads that don’t say much except give me a recipe without thinking about the fact that materials will rise in price so it changes nothing but give you something you can equip.

So you say achievement and I’ll say youtube and still grind regardless.

I have twilight and for me map competition was a grind cause that is not what I am into really. I’d rather farm plinx and chat with everyone there that is after the same thing karma then go and do map competition. Also does farm=grind? I think grind is just thrown around to much sometimes but more specifically to what you said.

If they tie it to achievements there will be videos popping up in 2 weeks time on how to get those achievements in about half the time. So how would YOU make it tied to achievement while still making it somewhat difficult to obtain?

The patch came out 5 days ago why are people so impatient. Tweak for 15% more damage to kind of help the loss until then. Talking about the accidental nerf to damage to zerker over and over agan is not going to speed up them fixing it. LOS is not going to go back to the way it was you just have to move on and adjust.

Thanks Osicat and Vutak I tweaked my build made up for the lost power through gear but maintained survivability I like.

Next question is

Rending Shatter – stacks of vulnerability. Do you guys like it think its good? I know for direct damage builds vulnerability is basically there to help those builds counter high toughness targets. I would trait it but I think with zerker in his current state the 15% more damage from clones is a better option if your running GS.

precise wrack – I don;t feel the +10% chance to crit on mind wrack is worth it unless you have a low crit chance. Im going with cry of frustration grants retaliation since I have high power.

Basically the item is just like your trinket without the jewel added. So it has the extra stats like you have a jewel in your trinket . So its listed twice because those are all the stats its giving you.

great thread! I recently switch my condition based build to a more power shatter build with some condi. I WvW so that is more my focus

I see alot of people saying to 20/20/0/0/30 I am curious as to why?

Right now I am

30/20/0/0/20 GS/Sword/Pistol

I am running precision, toughness, condition damage gear. Full divinity runes. Zerker amulet, 3 piece valk and 1 piece rampager. My crit change is 49% and 47%. Crit Dmg is 59

I have GS training, Mental torment, and illusions inflict 15% more damage. I am thinking of dropping the last for rendering shatter for vulnerability but I am not sure atm.

In precision line I have phantasm have fury and clone on dodge. I am on the fence if I should drop phantasms have fury though for something else. Maybe I could pick up sword training for the extra precision but I have accuracy on pistol.

would it be worth it to drop the 10 points in dom and put those in illusions for the persona? I had persona before and I miss it somewhat but feel that I don’t have to have not yet anyway.

The price did change on precursors. If I take a wild stab in the dark and guess you are referring to Dusk,Dawn, Legend.

Zap was 180g yesterday.

Shield is continuing to drop in price.

from what I can tell most of the pre have dropped in price just the popular ones are dropping much slower because they are popular.

One Hour of farming at 180% MF.

After receiving a few vials of condensed mists essence I was compelled to make my ascended item, so I started farming for Powerful Blood off of trolls and articus’s at the Trionic Lattice in Frostgorge sound. Using full MF gear, Sigil of superior luck, and a magic find booster, I was at around 180% MF. So I farmed for a full hour and these are my results.
3xPowerful Blood
30x Potent Blood
5x large fangs
3x large claws
5x Vicious claws
2x Ancient Bones
15x Powerful Bones
And random greens/blues/and 1 rare axe

How do these results feel to the community? Just looking for some input if this is fairly standard. Considering you need 250 level 400 crafting material for an ascended item this feels highly inadequate while farming at such high magic find.

This reads to me and profit on the TP. Not sure if you see it but I see it.

Results look fine to me. From my understanding from the recent MF post if you are expected get a blood for example mf ups your chances to get the higher tier. It doesnt lock you in. Also you are farming the wrong location now. Go to the new island for powerful blood shelks drop blood like crazy there.

Vinny@,if you want an event like Plinx’s chain,well that is not going to happen.This was bugged event in my eyes.You shouldn’t be able to do one event again and again only because it’s spawning every 5 minutes.

Well in reality it wasn’t a bug. In reality plinx wasnt 1 event. In reality the new island has 2 events that spawn non-stop. Hopefully you don’t go to the new island often and see the bugged even.t.

The plinx nerf was needed. It was absolutely overcrowded.

You can get obsidian shards from the Fractal tokens as well so i don’t see a big problem.

Fractals isn’t as fast to obtain shards as it is to run plinx chain.

Depending on route the time it takes to get the 15 tokens for 1 shard could be longer than the plinx.

Also if you use a booster+guild banner+guild buff on plinx, running fractals doesn’t even come close.

So far from looking around the new island it looks like it has potential for a decent karma train. I dont think it will be plinx like but could be close just have to get the optimal route figured out.

So far I can tell at islet way point where you collect the commendations you can give a few there and get credit.

Then the NPC close by asking to talk to you if you talk to him spawns the champion shark at rust tooth bay. Shortly after shark is the new reef broodmother vet.

There is a lion guard patrol by the golem wurm area.

Just have to figure out the timing on the other events to mix them in but they seem to happen frequently.

I don’t know if you noticed, guys, but karma is not mandatory anymore to get a Legendary.
Obsidian Shards can now be bought with Fractal Relics (15 relics per shard).
Before: ~480 shards = ~1 million karma
Now: 480 shards = 7200 fractal relics

right now there isn’t anything running as good as plinx unless its straits which my server doesn’t do. need to read up on this.

So far from testing this is what I notice

- zerker initial damage is down for sure.

- iMage confusion scales with your condition damage now and it will stack with any other confusion you apply but from what I can tell the mages confusion stacks with drop of faster than your other confusion stacks so optimal seems to be apply whatever confusion you want if traited for 33% longer confusion then apply your iWarlock confusion. As far as I know none of these happened before which is why warlock wasn’t very good.

- scepter auto attack doesn’t overwrite phantasms anymore(bug fix?)

need to look illusions summoning skills reduced to see if it changes anything on iLeap an reposite and scepter block havent tested those yet.

I will say that I am still testing torch its still is kind of niche because of the retal thing with warlock but I do like that warlocks confusion scales now. 3 stacks for me is 1k on skill use added with 5 stacks from scepter is pretty good.

don’t want to burst any bubbles, BUT…
when will you people learn that Arenanet is bad at these things. its a simple result of over-spending on lore department and leaving other departments under-funded.
all of the future patches will always be late due to this, so whenever arenanet gives you a date, add +24 hours automaticly and you will never be dissapointed.

And as far as this thread goes…. CC Eva has been assigned to close topics related to the patch release, so it will be closed soon. (all other 10+ were)

I agree to some extent. ANet isn’t very good at clearly communicating when items will be released, nor are they great at getting things out on time. I felt like the way they handled the Halloween update release was disappointing, and I’m hoping this one doesn’t go the same way.

It’s alrady 42 minutes late.
I dont like that they cant communicate in one place. Some things are said on facebook, some on twitter, some in a random server in game, and some in random forum posts. Why not use one place and put it all out there? I think this websites forum is the perfect place for it, and have people cheer the game on facebook and twitter instead. But… what can one do? You just have to lurk every kind of place and hope to find some information that can be interpreted into something =(

Yea while I am patient about this patch and not freaking about it being late since most people didn’t realize it was coming out today until that forbes article.

I agree that there is information all over the place. The dev tracker is fine. They should link the interviews also like massively or mmorpg sometimes they say things there that aren’t on the forums.

What do you use inplace of rabid trinkets?

My preference is CondDmg-Vitality-Power. There are some Rabid jewelery out there but they’re Green at most.

Why power in a condition build?

If you want any kind of duration on your condition with staff you kind of have to go into power since that is where the condition duration is located. 2sec chill is meh. This is of course WvW I am thinking about since that is what I play.

Wiki says that quip gives your duelist chaos gun, the precursor. To me it looks a lot like Ilya. I can’t tell if its the same skin.

The stealth implementation of GW2 has some major flaws.

First of all, stealth = invisibility in GW2. A thief can disappear right in front of you and you have no chance whatsoever to see him in stealth, even if you know where he is.

Example: When you are downed and the stealthed thief stands next to you, stomping you, it’s impossible to see him.

In other games you’d see stealthed enemies at close distance, and to enter stealth you need some distance to enemies or stealth doesn’t work. GW2 stealth has none of these limitations.

Stealth in other games wouldn’t work while you have DoTs (bleedings) ticking on you. Or at least it would instantly reveal you.

Also in other games, there is usually no way to re-enter stealth during a combat. GW2 doesn’t have limitations here, thieves literally step into and out of the shadows every second. Combined with the stealth rendering bug in the graphic engine, this is VERY bad.

Last but not least, GW2 stealth lacks a counter mechanism. Remember “True Sight” in DAoC? Again, it’s a different game, but when in DAoC the stealth classes became too strong and too many, they invented an ability to ruin their day: “True Sight” revealed all stealthed chars at once. This wouldn’t work for GW2 because stealth is not a perma-stealth ability here, but imagine some way to make it impossible for a thief to re-enter stealth. That would truly mess them up.

Right now the best we can do is stack Confusion on the thief and hope he hurts himself when he enters stealth, but I was thinking more of a specific stealth counter, some “anti-stealth” ability or debuff.

Most of the time when a thief enters stealth they are using some skill. I don’t have a problem with the stealth in GW2 its not a implementation flaw if you don’t compare it to DOAC. Its GW2’s implementation of it not another game. I am pretty sure Anet employee’s have played said other games you mentioned and chose to implement stealth in not other games way.

Greatsword sigil?

Mathematically, the precision version of Sigil of Bloodlust is better even though Sigil of Bloodlust costs way more which means one or a combination of the five:
1)People can’t do math
2)People just go with the flow
3)People just buy Bloodlust thinking that its better because it’s more expensive
4)Thieves and elementals can have 100% crit chance.
5)Harder to craft? or rarer drop rate

Why is that? If you don’t have alot of crit dmg but you have a high crit chance wouldn’t power be better? i.e. in a condition build

I’ve seen people say that precision is better but isn’t that based off of longer fight also?

I have bloodlust on my GS currently.

I had this, too. But I learned, that it has a hidden CD of 2~3s. This means even a triple crit of the GS (I have >70% crit) can only trigger a single bleeding. So the max upkeep is 2 bleeding stacks with this sigil (alone). And this wasn’t worth it for me.

Mhm this. If you do some reading around on the sigil its pretty much agreed there is a hidden cooldown. Do a reddit search on sigils and you will find it in there aswell as good theorycrafting on sigils and runes. I dropped it because of the CD.

For condition Staff builds there is no reason to conjure a Warlock other than Shatter fodder: it does pitiful damage compared to a Staff Clone and doesn’t give you any boons.

Depends on your power and also on the duration of the fight.

A bleed from a staff clone does about 500 damage in a condition build. A single shot from a (weak) iWarlock does about 1000 damage or 1500 on a crit. So the staff clone needs multiple crits/procs and more time to do the same amount of damage. In a longer fight the staff clone will be ahead of course.

The iDuelist on the other hand will cause about 6 bleeds on the target, that’s about 3000 damage on top of the iDuelists direct damage. In this build, the iDuelist is MUCH better than iWarlock and also better than staff clones.

btw, anyone else having trouble finding proper equip WITHOUT power? In a condition based build I have almost no use for power, but I’m still sitting at about 1300 power. Wish I had only the 900 base power and 400 more in other stats, but that seems to be impossible. For example, there is no rare/exotic jewelry with prec/tough/cond.

precision, toughness, condition damage gear. found in Twilight Arbor, the temples in Orr, arah, Khilbron exotic set on the TP . Those are the ones I know for sure. Jewelry you are correct best bet is rampager. I run mostly rampager with 2 pieces of carrion(power,vit,condition)

I doubt you really are a mesmer as countering this is trivial. (if you are, then you’re a bad mesmer and should be ashamed :p)

Decoy, or Mass invis – you’ve now dumped your target lock and they have to find you again in order to repeat the process.

If I recall correctlyi there is only one siege that can move.

You guys in this thread can accuse the OP of anything you want. I do in fact play Mesmer. I can also tell you we are the single most broken profession in WvWvW.

I have never seen an entire group sweep for guardians, thieves, necros, elementalist, warriors, or rangers. Now mesmers, I have seen a group NOT sweep for them. I have used them to do the same.

The OP is correct, the skill has got to change. Right now mesmers are the best/second best at killing enemy siege. In wvw we can take out enemy trebs in places no other profession can. Because while they can get in the 1200 range they also have to have los on at least something, (top of a wall etc) in order to cast. Mesmers don’t.

I’m sorry that people can’t, or more likely won’t, accept that this is broken. It is though, it’s a clear exploit of game mechanics. It’s going to get it changed just like it did our blink when people abused it in a similar fashion.

Its not like your criting on enemy siege because you don’t which means your crit damage isn’t counted when attacking siege. I would still argue elementalists are the best at taking out siege hands down. Just type in chat and have someone keep a eye out for the mesmers. Why is that so hard? Do you expect to just sit there spamming 1,2, and 3 on the arrow cart you place in the back and collect bags for free? You know damage is calculated top down right? So you know say at Green Briar for instance where the stone tunnel is people put siege up there. You cant hit that with bezerker a ele can.

I am pretty sure this is working as intended. You use to be able to use warlock without LOS not its alot harder I can usually only get him on the Oil or a cannon at the edge no more up top on a defender. I agree warden was op with that bugged attack rate.

Zerker isn’t honestly maybe cause Im a mesmer and if im defending I see a zerker pop up i just kill it cause I know it can be annoying lmao but its not op.

Now, let’s discuss what new additions we can expect to see in the BLTC with the patch.

- Apart from the obvious increase in sales of transmutation stones, what else can we expect from the BLTC to incentivize more gem sales? Will infusion-related items be available from the BLTC? Will items related to Ascended Armor be available through BLTC?

“…Omni Infusions of Fine rarity from new Mystic Forge recipes…”

- In Lindsey’s blog post she talks about the Mystic Forge being a big part of infusion. Will this just amount to a massive money dump like what the Mystic Forge is now? Will we have to spend gold and skill points to attain these recipes in the first place? Will BLTC items like the Mystic Forge stone be used in these “Fine” infusions, where people who are not keen on spending gems are left with worse alternatives?

- She also states that the Backpack will solely be available through the Mystic Forge. Will these backpacks be a ~100g gold sink like most other Mystic Forge items?

Personally, I feel that what little info we have been given seems to indicate steps toward a gem store that becomes less and less optional for players who want to maximize their performance. Even if these items can be acquired through the dungeon, insanely low drop rates coupled with a cheap alternative in the cash shop is a classic way to handle any criticism about P2W.

???? I didn’t read mystic forge big part of infusion. You might wanna take a look at that post again. Its just the back piece. So if you have 2 pieces being released and 1 is back and 1 is ring 1 is availble via mystic forge how do you get mystic forge big part of infusion gear from 50% ? Actually you wear 2 rings so 1/3 is available from the forge.

what makes you think you need a mystic forge stone from the gem store? I not even sure what your asking. I highly doubt you are going to need mystic forge stones or whatever. Mystic forge stones give you a random outcome anyway why would you even use them?

I can see transmutates but this month is only a ring and back piece so no need to even think about that right now really to be honest. You can transmutate a ring I guess you can trans a back piece I always hide mine so dont know. If next month is a Amulet and another trinket still no reason to worry about and by then we will have a better idea of how the gear is created via forge.

If you feel 2 points of stats are going to be that big of a deal for dungeon content that scales you down ( except arah obviously ) and wvw…then well we simply disagree…WTB PvE Leaderboard website. You DO realize that Magic Find is the major stat point there? The total stat point increase from exotic to ascended isn’t just 2. It’s TEN points from the two minor stats alone. Add in the major stat and it’s probably more like 15. On a single item. Multiply that by 12 (6 armor pcs and 6 accessory pcs) and you’re looking at a stat increase of AT LEAST 180, and is probably closer to 200 since stuff like chest have bigger disparities, which is pretty big in my book.

And that’s not even considering the weapon, which traditionally has the biggest gap between item tiers. And has a damage increase.

  • Back piece and Ring
    - Ring Acquired in dungeon
    - Back Piece acquired through recipe at mystic forge (not in dungeon)

Instead of upgrade slots, Ascended gear has Infusion slots, and rarer versions of the items also come with additional Agony Resistance built into them. Players will be able to acquire Ascended Rings in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon, and Ascended items worn on the back can be acquired through special Mystic Forge recipes.

Am I saying otherwise? Where did I say that the other stuff are available already? What it DOES say is that Ascended weapons will get introduced at one point. And what I said is that the stat increase between exotic and ascended isn’t just “2 points” like the guy said.

Please, I don’t think I’m the one who needs comprehension.

In context yes. You where replying to someone saying that its only 2 points then you pointed out that 10 points on the magic find is major. He was saying its not a big deal its 2 points your saying its a big deal its 10 on the magic find then through in there that the weapons (which aren’t in this update anyway) would be a big jump in power.

So your point was its a big jump in stats from exotic to ascension. My point is that you get 1 of the only 2 pieces introduced from a recipe before you even step in the dungeon. So my post in context is relevant to your reply to the other guy.

You’ll also see more Legendary items in the future and an update to our existing Legendary weapons. Legendary items were always intended to be on par with other “best-in-slot” items. So fear not, all existing Legendary weapons, which are currently on par with Exotics, will be upgraded to be on par with Ascended weapons at the same time that we add Ascended weapons to the game. Thus Legendaries will remain “best-in-slot” items. All Legendary items going forward will be of Ascended power. We also have plans to add more fun ways to acquire Legendary precursor items with a more “scavenger hunt” feel than they are acquired currently.

That would be fine, but no of those articles sounds like that.

We have to wait for the official statement and until then we can’t do anything expect showing Arena Net that we won’t be happy if they would add a new tier of gear.

Except you stopped playing after a month like you did TSW and went to WoW. Not to mention all the badmouthing you do about this game.

Gear treadmills is the worst type of content to keep people playing. As it is that’s exactly what they open the doors for with what is said.

Do I know you? I’m still subbed to TSW. What does any of this have to do with me being happy that Anet listened to it community and added progression?

What community your talking about ? Because Guild Wars was always played because it has horizontal progression. No gear progression in team of tiers or better stats ..

What is the #1 complaint about this game? Lack of progression. Ascended armor is the answer to the question. Good for them for listening.

There is enough content for the “hardcore casual” give the rest of us something.

A very small amount of people wanted that and considering Anet made it clear all the way from when they first started showing the game off that there would be no treadmill then the people asking for it shouldn’t really be listened too as they don’t listen themselves.

You really think Anet designed a dungeon like this because only a small amount of people asked for it. I think Dog blaster is talking about since the game has been released. There isnt anything hard in the game except arah path 1,2, and 4. That is literally the hardest thing in the game.

Just to be clear again. There is no DR for salvaging. There’s no stealth nerf on ectos.

Is it too much if i asked here is there any nerf on rare(yellow) drop rates?

NO dude! I ran cursed shore last night and I got 14 rares in like 2 hours. Best I ever had no MF gear or nothing. Most of the time I run I don’t that many rares. Its % chance you don’t control it you might have hit a bad luck spot then you hit good spot it moves.

inb4 but but but but but last night I did cursed for 30 minutes and didnt get a rare.

Count me among the disappointed. No quitting, no raging, just…disappointed.

I am sick to death of repetitive gear grinds in MMOs and was hoping GW2 would avoid it. I didn’t think they’d be able to entirely avoid it in the long run, but it’s very depressing to see it happening so soon after launch. Even if it is a modest increase, from my perspective, it’s still the camel getting his nose into the tent.

Why are you disappointed over information you don’t have all the details exactly whats wrong with the forums smh.

Question are you still running around in whites at your current level? I bet the answer is no. So you treadmilled anyway just on a very forgiving slope and it was during story or whatever you did. 1-80 is a tread mill 1 being the lowest 80 the highest peek I have to state this obvious fact that you have forgotten obviously.
