The exploits he is talking about was the whole fiasco with the karma weapons costing only 23 karma and the godskulls exploit which rewarded very high chances for a dusk/twilight.

What arenanet did? They asked people to delete their items, more than 5000. Well they were permanently banned at first, but only end up with a slap on the wrist with 3 days ban later. Hard to believe arenanet monitored everyone to make sure they deleted all the crap. After all this chaos, we got the mystic forge nerf in attempt to not devalue the precursors prices.

Most people know about this. That was a while ago. I’d be willing to bet all the dusks/dawns from the godskull thing have been sold already. They where like 250g when that happened. The one guy said he bought 9 and Im pretty sure nine have been sold since then.

I think what we should do is report everyone that has a legendary that we can ban them all cause there is no way they have that much money. o.O

So if you really feel(cause you have no evidence) they exploited you should report them. Submit a ticket stand by your convictions.

No, that’s no true oZii. Just at a glance you can see there are no cleric’s (power, toughness, healing) no berzerker’s (power, precision, crit damage) and no knight’s (power, toughness, precision) all of which are very popular stat combinations which can be crafted. I’m sure there are others, not to mention the ones which come as drops.

Add to that the handful of weapon skins available as karma rewards (including the ones which will need a fine transmutation stone) and compare that to the exotic market at level 80. The variety of skins on level 80 exotics which are found and sold (thus additional tools catering to the players who don’t play the game) is far greater than those which are available for karma.

The end game is mostly about skins and less about stats once players reach a certain threshold but even if stats were the issue, karma gear is far behind on stat combinations compared to crafting and drops.

Thats true the popular stat combinations aren’t available for karma but you can still get those stat combinations by not spending any money at all maybe some repair fees if you die in a dungeon.

For me it is simple change how to get a precusor or legendary. That now is one of the biggest sinks and Anet chooses to enable to gold sellers. So until that demand is satiated dont expect the botters to go away. Since they offer at a reasonable rate compared to anet they will always have a steady supply of customers.
TLDR: Anet keeps enabling gold selling by precusors the biggest $ sink right now.

I think you may be a bit confused, nothing here is true. Try to think of the game a whole for all players.

SO you say that people who have legendaries didnt buy gold from goldsellers or exploit? I dont believe that for one sec. And from what I have seen the mystic forge removes a ton of gold and items from the economy every sec of every day. I am not privy to your information mind you.
I am curious tho

You do know dusk use to be like 20g (valued to low).

Lets say dusk stayed at 20g and every other precursor was 20g everyone would have one. The price for materials to craft would also be low. Only thing that would take time is karma.

NEW ITEMS ON TP account bound POWER TRADER

I’m hoping that this is merely an enhancement for the traders that will allow them to buy more items in bulk. If they limit number of trades or the amount traded, I think they’ll cause more problems for the people who enjoy the TP game (myself included). It would be a shame to limit yet another way people have found to make decent money.

If they do restrict something like this though, I would wager that exotic prices will go through the roof as flipping weapons / armor will become the primary source of flipping income. If that happens, it would likely also be met by a rise in the cost of crafting materials as well since fewer will be posted.

If the aim of this is to address some of the botting issues, I fear it will be too heavy-handed and push more legitimate players away. Only time will tell…

A rise in price for all goods across the board is unavoidable imo. As soon as Anet does a mass ban on botter prices will rise quickly on everything.

Rifles and pistols...or lack there of in MF recipes

It is almost certain that all possible recipes have not been discovered and publicly posted yet. I think that the people who are posting the recipes they find aren’t approaching it from all possible angles, which would explain other weirdness like the comparatively high amount of foci discovered thus far: foci are likely all made using the same general formula, that being the one that the public researchers are exploring.

Pretty much every combination of recipe has been found already. You can see every pistol and rifle in the game just by going to gw2db. They data mined so everyone knows whats in the the game or not. Also I am sure they will add more weapons to the game.

They have said all they need to about precursors at this point, which is that they are watching prices and will make changes if they see fit. Since prices haven’t changed all that much since that statement, I’m not sure what you’re expecting from them now.

Being active in the forum community isn’t the same as replying to each and every one of the dozens of new threads started by people complaining about how gosh-darned expensive precursors are.

Dusk jumped 100 gold last night… yea that sounds like prices havent changed at all…

Now you have to have faith in your fellow impatient gamer to not buy it at that price. More dusks will be created and the price will go back down again.

If we Tier the Exotics

Tier 1 – Precursor =200-300g (not saying it 400g cause there are more precursors than just dusk and dawn and the legend)

Tier 2 – Unique exotic with Gifts – 400g-500g

Tier 3 – Unique exotic no gifts- 100-200g

Tier 4- Destroyer Weapons -30-50g

Tier 5 – Corrupted Weapons – 15g-25g

I don’t even see a whole bunch of people running around with corrupted weapons those are like 15g to make 25g for the Staff. I just dn’t see them handing out a precursor for free when people havent even gotten to the point hey buy a destroyer weapon.

I am enjoying this debate though. I don’t think the majority of the player base cares that much about legendaries to be honest this is only 3 page thread so far and most of us are the same people for or against a change.

There is still time to get in on eggs eventually. Wintersday isnt until December 15th well thats what it was usually for GW1. This event coming up is something new wintersday is like the christmas type event.

So whoever is trying to get in on the egg thing will have to wait another month or so.

Karma Vendors at the temples of Orr. Every stat combination you can get from the TP at 80 you can get at the temples of Orr.

There is no “best” gear is there? The light armor set I get at the temple for karma has the same stats as the light set thats on the TP for 20g. Twilight/Sunrise/Eternity have the same stats as the swords from the dungeons for tokens. I can craft a pearl carver greatsword at weaponsmithing station with the same stats as the 3 legendary greatswords.

@snow it doesn’t really matter if I do or don’t have one. I my opinion wouldn’t change. I am not against a different method I am just saying that many of the suggestions to change the system don’t seem really thought through. We know the current system so we can scrutinize it to death. We can start from exploration to gift of X. A change in anyway to obtaining the precursor will effect the entire economy of the game. So an alternative suggestion should take that into consideration. It isn’t as simple as give me a recipe. Which what almost every alternative suggestion is.

Also on my server there is a guild (yes I am in that guild) they are all working together for their legendaries. Everyone puts in money toward a precursor and then depending on who did the most to help with influence then the funds go toward that precursors. Everyone also goes farming together to get the materials for the gifts. Its a group effort where we keep track with a spread sheet. We just finished kudzu for 1 member of our guild. Then we will move on to put together the warhorn for our next member.

Maybe the current system sucks for a person wanting to solo put it together. I know the guy who created the world first torch said he had help from guildies.

We are doing it as a group effort.

It’s not the difficulty that people are discussing. It’s the RNG aspect to the whole precursor generation…. that’s pretty much the crux of the whole discussion.

There’s nothing legendary about gambling. There’s also nothing legendary with buying gold either (and I’m not saying that’s what most people have done… but there would be some out there that have)

Legendaries should be made through in-game achievements… not tossing random items into the forge crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.

I don’t find that hard to understand. Why not make the process fun?

Heck make it 10 times harder and I would still be ok with that so long as they removed the randomness of it… back in GW1 days there was weapons/armor that took a hell of a lot of work to obtain and still people were ok with that because there was a sense of clear progression. GW2 should maintain that.

I’d rather see someone own a legendary and think “geez that person achieved everything worthwhile doing in this game and they rock!” instead of “geez that person farmed his butt off to get that weapon…”

At the moment – there’s nothing really epic or legendary about a legendary. It just takes gold – there’s really not much skill involved whatsoever (even the 500 wvw badges are super easy to get… dungeon tokens are easy to get) there’s nothing that’s hard about a legendary other than having enough gold to get it (and you can buy gold) so where does that leave the legendary status?

See the problem is people aren’t looking at the whole picture you don’t want rng for the precursor

If Anet gave you a Precursor and you where going to start your process to make your legendary lets say sunrise.

Are you going to go out and farm every material to make it? Are you really about to farm all 250 ancient bones when they are dirt cheap on the TP? You don’t like RNG so that would remove RNG because you know where to get your ancient bones just like you know where to get the precursor on the TP.

250 Globs of ecto – RNG
250 of each of the T6 Mats – RNG

Now you say there is nothing legendary about buying your precursor so I would assume you are going to go and farm all the above. Which makes you deal with RNG.

I know you wont go buy it because you said thats not legendary. So your argument is you want the precursor just to have it I guess.

Buy it-= Not legendary
RNG = Despise it its dumb remove RNG

Dont complete legendary because both are needed to complete legendary.

I was thinking the same thing there is going to be a price hike some where if a simple recipe was made to obtain the precursor.

If Anet says ok here is the recipe for dusk. The ingredient that is used for that will skyrocket. If they make a new ingredient I highly doubt it will have a drop rate better than what you see for lodestones right now. So I don’t think its as simple as people think it is to just say give us a recipe.

People are asking for a recipe for a precursor but I don’t think having 1 will put you any closer than you are now if you don’t have it. There will be something that you have to pay for and something you have to grind for.

Even if Anet says ok run AC 10 times and you can exchange the tokens for Dusk that will cause onyx lodestones to go up in price. Like zOlt said you would have 20 people in 10 minutes with a precursor as Im sure people have that many tokens stocked. Now they are all trying to get their hands on the same lodestones. Anyone that is smart with those lodestones is going to relist to a higher price. So you have your precursor that you can run around with but your still far from creating the legendary anyway.

which is why i sold my greatsaw skin and bought a mad moon(decent cheap way to invest in this stuff) and a scythe skin(i believe the demand for this will never cease, particularly with necro’s) we will see how it all pans out. My mistake was not selling the greatsaw at 70 gold like i should have, but ill still make out ok.

Yea I got in and out on that one. Had GS skin the first day when they shot as high as 80g watched as the price peeked there and started to go down quickly got out at 65g. Also had the 1h skins sold 2 at 11g. I think the shield and the scythe will stay pretty popular.

@jihoko there is no market manipulation its just really a word people are throwing around and then more people that don’t know what they are talking about hopping on the bandwagon. So everything that happens on the TP will be called manipulation.

Everyone has access to the same information the buyer and the seller. People that use that info better are the people that get ahead that can be the buyer or the seller. Their is nothing wrong with the tp outside of excess of stuff from the bots.

The OP makes statements that are contrary to how the game works so it’s difficult to come to any other conclusion. For example:

Tried that. For days. The areas ae 2/3s bots and they make the spawns so bad it’s pretty close to suicide to try.

This statement has no meaning. It does not accurately reflect any aspect of how the game works.

The original premise of the thread is also fundamentally flawed, to put it kindly. There are 5 ori nodes in Cursed Shore, 5 in Malchor’s Leap, and 2 in Frostgorge. Orichalcum ore has a 100% drop rate; you have only to locate the nodes, which you can harvest every day. The locations change when the server resets, as for a patch.

Further, I cannot find a logical basis for the OP’s claim that he is “stuck” with level 65 gear as a level 80 character. Both the assembled items and the components required to make them are readily available. The OP’s claim is so far from reality that it, too, is without meaning.

We must conclude that he is simply having a go at us, and so it would be best to leave this thread to rot.

I’m fully agree with you and with some posts upper.

It’s like a vicious circle.

My conclusion after reading you all is more peoples buy to goldsellers, more the gem price increase. And more the gem price increase, more players are tempted to buy to GS.

The question isn’t if it’s better to buy golds to ANet or to GS, the question now is: will ANet continue to penalise legit players because somes buying to GS ?

I understand there is lots of maths behind the gems system to keep the market balanced.

But the fact is I wont give an euro to ANet because the rate is laughable, if they make fair rate a day I’ll give money. I feel like lots of players don’t spend money in the game for this reason.

If it’s 100 euros to go A -> B by train and if it’s 80 euros by car, I’ll take my car. The train company will make a profit of 0 euro on me, if they reduce price of 20 euros I’ll take the train and they will gain 80 euros on me.

Stop being impatient is there anything at all you have to have right now? Im pretty sure when they start doing updates to prepare for new content there will be alot of banning going on. Just wait.

The prices are based on popularity the prices for the precursors isn’t outrages if you look at all the precursors. Its around 234g if you get the average of the lowest selling offer for all the precursors. Of course Anet will look at the whole picture because they know there are more than just 3 precursors in the game.

Of course we are talking about the legend, dusk, and dawn cause they are the only precursors in the game.

Fixed recipe wont solve anything. Ill be honest if they release a fixed recipe for precursors people will buy as much of the most important ingredient and charge whatever the market allows them to.

If the recipe requires say Super special crystal and super special lodestone then tomorrow on the TP

I know you can’t possibly think they will release a recipe that uses the materials that are already on the TP? Thats not happening that would totally make it 10 times worse. Lodestones would shoot through the roof since those are the hardest to obtain. If you they make it so you can farm it do you really think they will make the drop rate better than the current lodestone drop rate? Highly doubt it.

You gotta come up with something better than fixed recipe there are more factors at work here than just put it on some paper and let my crafting skill make it. I don’t think half the people that are complaining about precursors have even really worked toward putting any of the other stuff together. You said something about lodestones. My friend did 10 recipe got 6 charged lodestones from failing. Put the other stuff together then come back and complain. Its alot of work seriously.

Do you have gift of battle, mastery, fortune, gift of (insert weapon name) even started yet got your 850k-1.2 mil karma farmed up? Have your obsidian shards? Your clovers?

my guess is it would cost right now about 160 to make. Lyss is more expensive to make than llya since lyss uses the barrels which are also used to make destroyer weapon so it costs more. Nothing really uses the shaft for llya. Llya is about 60g to make. If it is true there is a weapon combining the two the price will go up for sure.

Why is there Magic find?

There is simply no reason to have Magic Find in an MMO. If they want all players to be equal then all players should have an equal chance to find drops (unless they’ve spent gems on boosters). You sacrifice utility for probability.

optional and the loot drops aren’t great its just better vendor trash to make more money. still its optional having it doesn’t hurt just like not having it wouldnt hurt since your not forced to use it. I know plenty that farm cursed in regular gear. I farm it in MF gear. Them doing it in regular gear doesn’t effect me and vice versa. Why care that its in the game its there it doesn’t hurt anything and half the time you don’t know who is wearing what anyway unless you ask.

Why is there Magic find?

This puzzles me too. The rest of the game is built around social play and encouraging teamwork.

But Magic Find armour encourages you to deliberately nerf your character’s survivability or damage output in the hopes of getting better loot; in social play, this means your team members are picking up your slack and you’re gaining the benefit. It’s all cool if everyone knows what’s going on but in PUGs it’s a very subtle form of griefing.

MF is basically optional hardmode. You take a hit to your character for the increased chance at loot.

Why can't I get myself to play?

I am seriously lost and hoping someone might be able to help. This isn’t a hate thr, so please don’t make it as such.
I just can’t get myself to log in anymore. I am still around in hopes that something happens and I can start enjoying the game. I haven’t had this kind of issue with even some of the previous “fail” mmos. I can still to this day casually log into Eve, WoW, DCUO, Runescape, Rift, GW1 and even play through the Mass Effect series again, which I have beaten about 10 times now. For some reason I just can’t get myself to log into GW2. It feels like I such a chore to do anything in the game. I guess I don’t know what’s going on with it, but maybe the game is not for me?

Crafting—Was never a fan, so no surprise here.

Story(lore)—Not a fan at all. Not a roleplayer or anything, a bit too corny for me.

Jumping Puzzles—This to me is a complete joke in terms of “content”, like not even fun at all after the very first one I completed.

Dynamic Events—My biggest disappointment lies here. I would rather have every dynamic event replaced with heart quests, seriously. They take literally zero skill, so easy they can be auto-attacked through without ever dying. Very boring and repetitive imo/

Hearts—I actually like these, easily my favorite content in the game.

Dungeons—Biggest mess ever. There isn’t any strategy involved. Just feels like a big spam fest. I can’t get myself to do another one of these. I have completed just about every explorer mode dungeon without any issues.

Exploring—Nope, not for me. I never understood this.

Just throwing out my opinion on some of the things that the game offers in hopes that someone might have some ideas for me.

Like I said, I really want to like the game. I loved GW1 and just expected much more from the team at Arenanet. Is it even the same team?

I’ve come to something of a similar conclusion.

Fact is, GW2 feels like a huge, grind-y, sandbox-y mess. Most of the content, dungeons especially, feel very shallow and unchallenging for an organized group. WvWvW is supposed to be other “endgame” aside from explorables, but that also feels shallow and got old quickly(plus all the rendering issues). sPvP, same deal.

I’ve come to believe that since the game is supposed to be played for “fun” and be “accessible,” it’s more catered for casual play and messing around. It feels like a sandbox game. Kill this if you want to. Go explore that if you want to. Chase those “achievements” that are nothing but a grind. Grind for that one skin you really want. But there’s rarely an actual feeling of being challenged or making progression. As a result, maybe this game isn’t for people like you and me. But at least I can return to it every once in awhile since there’s no sub fee.

This is exactly how I feel. I haven’t logged in in weeks. I just come to the forums to check up on news and general consensus. This game is just uninteresting and I seriously don’t like anything about it.

Well good thing there is no sub fees and you already paid your 60 dollars. Which is a smart move by Anet doing this way. Its impossible to please everyone. I log in regularly and I have other that do too. Some just come back for special event. There is no obligation to play all the time just play when you feel like it. There is no sub fee

I see no point to Orr at all aside from the Ori and sapling nodes. I get more karma and gold doing WvW objectives than farming Orr DE’s and getting hit with a zerg that’s invisible until its 3 inches from your nose is faaaaaarrrrrr less annoying than that stupid pull move the sea zombies use.

Impossible! There is no where in the game better to farm karma than plinx event. WvW isn’t even close the time it takes you to get SM castle I have ran gotten the same amount of karma in like 20 minutes. You have to farming the wrong place for sure.

As to the point about ORR. It can be annoying but if your there enough you can tell the aggro range. The guys that throw the hooks and pull you are annoying but as soon as they have aggrro just dodge and they miss and you keep going. Is orr the hardest zone to travel yes but every other place in the game is pretty easy to get around at 80 fireheart is really the only other tough place and thats not even that bad.

Why is there no profit to be made in making lvl 80 exotics ?

I can only speak for Weaponsmith since that is the one I use the most I don’t artifacer and armorsmith much even though I have them maxed.

The money isn’t in exotic weapons unless you are messing with nothing but corrupted weapons and above. Thats really all you can craft and destroyer weapons but that really getting expensive.

Don’t look at exotics look elsewhere for making money from crafting its there trust me. You have to think of what people are doing. The sets of weapons are basically skins the exotic weapons you can create aren’t profitable because they are common.

What are people doing? 1 thing Ill give you is they are Chucking rares into the forge.

Lyss + Ilya Weapons?

According to the wiki, combining the two in the mystic forge can create a legendary weapon named Lyssa. I would assume it’s another pistol, but there’s currently no page for the weapon itself. The mention of the weapon is on the Lyssa page.

Hmm I see that on the wiki but the db or guildhead doesnt have that item from the data mine.

Remember when playing a game was about playing the game? And not about having spreadsheets to track market trends? Shouldn’t the richest people in a MMO be the people who have achieved the most spectacular feats, not people who sit in front of a NPC manipulating imaginary items for a few minutes a day?

Hasn’t flipping been around like since the beginning of MMO’s with market places Where you get that idea of feats from?

2. To help parties and guilds gauge a player’s effectiveness in a dungeon, add player inspection to GW2. There is so much more that can and needs to be done towards this end, inspection is not asking for much. I want to know if our party is carrying someone in Cultural Tier 3 with a bad spec and level 65 trinkets, and I want to know when somebody is wearing magic find.

I wholeheartedly endorse this and would take it a step further….

We don’t have to see anyone’s armor piece by piece (not to mention COND, MF% & HEAL stats aren’t even tallied up in the current one), but I think an account-wide career-tally of how many tokens they’ve collected would help. It’d also be great if we had a peer-review option as we see in these forums where if you participated with the player long enough to complete the dungeon, you could choose to Up-Vote their “rep” one time for all 8 dungeons. (or opt out if they were “bad” at it). Like So:

Thats just asking for a ton of elitism to creep in. I was in overflow when the mad king dungeon thing happenend and chat was filled with level 80 only msg for invite. o.O mk dungeon was easy and scaled. I prefer to not know its really easy to tell if your carrying someone in any of these dungeon.

Dungeon Drops and thoughts

Hey guys,

I have only done a few dungeons and want to express my concern. Maybe others could relate or offer reasoning for it.

I just find doing a dungeon isn’t worth the time spent.

1) For one, the XP for your time invested is not worth it in comparison to quests.

2) The drops you get in dungeons don’t seem worth the effort. I could buy better gear from the trading post. Add the fact that you spend lot’s of money repairing your gear.

3) I feel like it’s almost required for you to die a few times in order to make it through the entire dungeon, to only get blue and green drops?

It would be nice to get something worth it after all the effort and money spent repairing. Like Gear you can’t find anywhere else.

What would be my motivation to do dungeons?

Correct me if I’m wrong!

You have to find a good team. Now I havent done all the dungeons. My experience is limited to AC, TA, COF and Arah.

AC is a cake walk. For a while everyone spammed path 2 ghost eater now people regularly run all the 3 paths back to back to back. People had to learn the encounters now at least on my server you can pug it up usually with success on all 3 paths. Which is like 30 min a run 45 tops

TA still can be somewhat difficult but I think thats just the hardest path people avoid it since not many people ran it in the first place. Plus they fixed the final boss so you couldnt go cook dinner while you afk kill him with auto attack.

Now Arah! I have tried all the paths its frustrating only path 3 is bearable imo. Though I will try it when I think it gets tweaked. I have spent 5 hours in there before on path 4.

Path is doable average about hour and 20 minutes depending on the team. My best path 3 is 40 minutes. It just depends on your group imo. The mechanics of many of the dungeons seem to really punish sloppy play i.e. not the right skills set up, rushing to far ahead of your team aggroing what you shouldnt, improper pulls, not explaining to the new guy the fight for lupis.

As far as gear goes precision, toughness, condition gear can only be obtained from the dungeons, karma vendors and temples on orr and a exotic drop for the named acolyte sets like jataro, khilbon (light armor sets as thats all I know) thats it. I don’t know about the other stat lineups just that stat lineup I’m sure.

Also the runes for each dungeon can only be obtained from those dungeons, scholar ruins are popular for the mf and rock dog but can only be had from CM. I havent looked at the other runes except TA which isnt bad for say a necro I’m sure necro’s like that rune. Its condition duration, condition damage, and 5% to cause fear when hit thats only on Nightmare Runes.

So the rewards are whaat you get from the tokns not really the drops inside the drops are mostly vendor trash to help pay for armor repairs.

A: Make gold account bound.

A good way to dampen RMT is to make gold work similar to gems, karma, badges, etc. That is, make gold account bound and usable only in trade through the TP or NPCs. To be honest, I have never given, or received, gold from another player. We often exchange materials or crafted items; especially rare or better items that end up being soul-bound, anyway.

Gold could be prevented for trade between players and not affect my friends or I in the least.

I don’t know how much you WvW but we sometimes chip in for the siege equipment. We have a guild bank but when our WvW branch (yes its a large guild 2 branches) is out and we are all over the map someone that doesn’t have the access to withdraw from bank is back by the siege master we mail him money to get him the equipment. There are reasons to mail gold in this game that is just 1 scenario. I know another guy said he mails it to his wife or daughter.

While technically not “market manipulation”, there is something somebody is doing to make a lot of money quickly by briefly increasing the price. It’s also not a result of “market speculation”. It’s definitely not caused by a “whoopsie” in missing a decimal point while entering a buy price.

1000s of peppers were sold during that price spike. I saw it happen in real time. A stack was sold without putting a dent on the availability during that short time.

…as for the strawberries, they trippled in price just before the halloween update, and were reset immediately after it went live. I could throw out wild accusations, but the purpose of the post is to show the irregularities that people are using to make scads of cash on.

Well if your using those pictures as examples then thats a blip on 3 months. 1 spike really? You could pick better items than that there are alot more better items that have been up and down up and down.

I bet if you look at black lion chests a week before the event you would see they spiked up. Yup everyone was buying them guy bought 500,000 of them Still didnt realy make a dent in anything as prices dropped back down again. You know there are alot of people that play this game right?

Annathesa, unless you can provide details, then I’m going to have to remain sceptical as to just how much profit you really ARE making when you claim that you are buying all the mats from the TP, and use them to craft items and then sell them again.

I’m just not going to point out how (or even how much) I make out in public like this. No offense intended, I just don’t want to have to compete with more people than I already do that know my markets. Just pointing out that it can be done.

Agree with him on this one. As soon as anything is posted in regards to making money it immediately hits the TP.

I don’t even mess with crafting to much I have it maxed out. If I have certain materials then i will make the items place them on tp and they are usualy gone really really quickly. Its pretty easy to figure out at least from the professions I did focus on what sells on the TP that you craft. The money is there fore relatively little work.

I’ll give you a freebie though cause this one has already been out. You could buy the materials for level 80 GS mithril, elder logs craft and sell them and make profit pretty good profit.

Now you don’t make as much profit but still can make a small some. Reason is people are chuking them into the forge so they are always going to be more than 20s. You just have to figure out what the end product of what your selling or what you want to sell is being used for and that just requires looking on the internet.

I didn’t invest to much into candy corn just a modest 4 stacks all farmed. I have a good amount of skulls and fangs.

I just think there is to much candy corn to move to make any money off of it. I also think to many players in on this one. It was to obvious to even someone that doesn’t really play TP prices that it would be a good idea holding on to some corn. I don’t know i think this might be a long term one for any kind of great return.

? that sounds easy way to easy. Also if everyone could master every crafting profession there would be no reason to buy anything from the tp from other crafting professions. You get 4 now. Having them all i just hope to whatever I need contrary to popular opinion there is money to be made in crafting. Go grab some steel ore, some iron ore, which takes not long at all make GS blades and Hilts dont make the sword and put it on the tp at lowest seller price and watch it disappear quickly.

I can level a crafting to 400 in like 30 minutes.

Well. Why would it be better? Because it’s easier? What if they just made a vendor that would sell it at 1000g? Would that be okay?

Not easier, just a more clear and stable goal that doesn’t shift depending on market fluctuations and luck factor. I said I didn’t want it easier, that doesn’t mean I want it harder either.

Everyone here already knows what legendaries are. We don’t need you to explain it.

Luxury or not obtaining items in an mmo is a large part of the game, therefore how it’s done can be a major factor in how much people enjoy it. And if some of us feel it’s done badly and could be made better than we’re going to talk about it.

If we say the method of obtaining legendaries is bad and you say “they’re luxury” then what’s the perspective here? They’re luxury so it’s ok if the method of obtaining them sucks? Or maybe, they’re luxury so the method of obtaining them is supposed to be unfun? That’s some nice perspective there.

Its not required so people seem to be overly bent out of a luxury item and pricing due to impatience. There is post in another thread where a guy explains the lore and states that the items will more than likely become more availbe to craft the precursors as more content is added possibly this next update. Can’t find it atm but will post when I do. People are impatient game hasn’t been out that long. Thats perspective.

Average price for Precursors is 234g thats all the precursors not just the 3 everyone is focused on which is what all these threads turn into. Dawn, Dusk, Legend talks because those are the only 3 precursors available? Perspective.

They are luxury so the method of obtaining them good bad or not is optional and not required to play the game.

misreads name of Amulet start theory crafting gets giddy posts about Master Sword even though all the items are Data Mined as soon as they hit the game. We know the items are there how to obtain them is different.

@Ozii, agree the torch appears to be one of the better off hands (only one with footsteps I believe). Probably on par with the Longbow but not the sword. Its subjective but Bolt has more animations and has a purple electric aura. If there was a good comparison, the torch is a mirror image of frostfang (which also has icy arm, frozen breath and footsteps).

As it stands, there are a couple of tiers to legendaries imo:
tier 1 = greatswords
tier 2 = sword, hammer, staff
tier 3= bows, axe, torch, shield, rifle
tier 4 = everything else

Hmm I agree on Tier 1 i think Shield should be in your tier 2 the shield is really good. the Pages turn as your fighting.

Precursor prices are all based on popularity. I suspect the price of the torch is about to go up in the next day. Currently 60g nobody has crafted the legendary until now. I gotta say it looks great up there at the minimum with the bows and on par with Bolt.

I answered: “The reason they changed it was because they were fixing a bug, not responding to complaints, so they’re two entirely different things”.

Dungeon rewards ARE working as intended, but I feel like difficulty level was not, where it was too high and people were finding it more worthwhile to exploit dungeons than to play them as intended.

How many precursors do you think were made from that bug? Ten thousand? A hundred thousand?

And I was responding to a person who said the current system shouldn’t be changed because “it would upset a lot of people”. If something can be made better then it should be. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t change things for the better just because they are “working as intended”

Anet gem price = legit no risk

3rd party GS = possibly all my ingame money, and my credit report, and my real life money ruined, gone, stolen.

Its not Anet job to teach people about the risks of other sites people need to educate themselves. You do realize Anet can’t stop someone from spending money at Footlocker right? Same applies to 3rd party they can ban you. That is their place they are not internet police.

If someone seeks 3rd party and knows the risks then that is not anets fault thats the individual persons fault.

There is no valid argument that can be made to say Arena Net is doing x forcing people to go 3rd party. There just isnt one no matter how anyone tries to twist it.

The game design even has it covered because its cosmetic for the but people forget that. There is nothing in the game that says you have to have alot of GOLD to play. Again another example of someone thinking they have to have alot of gold to do anything in this game. Please show me that on a map which dungeon that is? Which DE requires gold?

If you go with legendaries I point you to Ghastly Great sword it glows blue and has same stats as Twilight, Dawn. Its also free to go into costs no gold at all.

Not this again! You feeling the Price of goods from a legit business is not a EXCUSE to buy at 3rd party.

Your post does the same as all these posts about the same topic its sad really sad. Your post basically says the price of gems and gold currently on the TP is forcing people to go 3rd party. Well that i what your implying in your post.

Those people are weak people and they also don’t care about a high chance of identity theft, and their accounts hacked.

I just dont get what is so hard to understand about the risks of going 3rd party. Its obvious!! There was a guy who posted that his legendaries and all his gold went missing he logged in naked.

People started asking him if he went 3rd party. That post is totally gone now which is kind of strange. Its out there so if you value your credit card and your personal identity then dont go 3rd party is freaking simple.
