Yeah we ask for numbers but sometimes you don’t get an answer and either check yourself or wait for the followup of more reliable info from WvW regulars.

I get when the enemy does not render and its hard to tell the exact numbers, but when you get false reports of zergs a few times too many that is when you wish those people had played starcraft and know what the zerg rush strategy is.

I love the Aetherblade ( my Apothecary support gear) and the magitech ( condi damage build).

I don’t wear the aetherblade hat though I use the starter monocle instead.

Best looking pistol is the corrupted one, best looking shield is the fused shield.

I a going to be a bit pedantic here but I got to say that when you say Zerg it has to mean overwhelming numbers.

15 is not a zerg. I would call that a group.

This has been a problem in /t and /m chat where noobs in WvW suddenly report zergs and you go there and its 6-10 people :/

My advice is pick the style of play you like with the utilities you like and try to make/find a build that is similar to that.

I like my engis to be condition, and a bit tanky/survivable . So my builds are not power or glass cannon. Also I don’t like the rifle or going pure elixir builds so I stay away from those.

Just play the way you like playing and have fun since it is by far the most fun class in this game

Agree. The light field is good for condi removal which IMO engis suffer from a lack of reliable ones unless you go elixirs.

I like the healing turret I use it in my support build and toolbelt short water field I use for escape with the rocket boots but I would like them to improve Cleansing Burst’s water field. It hard to see in between all the particle effects so some clearer animation would be better for that skill.

@Oblivious: I’ll have to take a look at it when I’m home from work, however I’m looking to go with a power/crit build due to the fact that everyone is now typically geared/traited for the condition meta and your conditions don’t last more than 2 ticks in an organized zerg. Also I don’t think healing power really scales well with our healing abilities, I could be wrong though.

Ah I can’t help you with power builds I leveled as a power engi but when I hit 80 I switched to conditions and stuck to it.

No I don’t think Healing power scales on engis as in other classes. with zero healing power i get around 214 per pulse on Super elixer with over 1k healing power it around 314 iirc. However I found the build fun and I can survive a long time in Duels and in WvW

We put up a good defense of WH on GBL. sieged it to the teeth but then we got sidetracked on a [lion] hunt in Quarry camp -whatever its called – ( many siege were offered as sacrifice to the ram god) then we noticed Elona came in to zerg WH :/

But how about a win-win compromise instead?
We declare the south of Elona BL (2 towers and 3 camps) as reservation for threated servers, that Elona does not enter with larger groups than 5 people, where you can have all the fun between FSP and Gandara you want, while we control the rest to get our points?

I am assuming you are not serious , because the idea of the entire server’s WvW populations of Gandara and FSP just queueing up for one map while you lot frolic in the others is hilarious.

All i have seen from the german server is blobs and emote spam, it just seems like a bigger version of Blobbadon.

Blobadon cause me to lag and eventually crash so I am not looking forward to this week..

Primary School is closed for the summer and the kids have found the forums.

After the latest patch I have been having this problem I am fighting some one and when turning the game thinking I have removed my finger from my right mouse button so the view angle changes but my character is facing the wrong way.

My mouse (Logitech G600) is fine.

Please fix it. I am a PVPer and this hinders gameplay.

You are reading the topic wrong.

Anet solution to zergs according to what they wrote is siege but not all confilct in WvW happen at objectives. Many fights happen in the open, and to counter those the solution is not “hey lets stop and build some siege” especially since the map itself is mostly open so even if you try to make a defendable place with siege to counter that zerg you will just be run over since there is always ways around most of the terrain. ie not defendable.

Also open field combat is fun and if there are people that like that exclusively (which there are a lot) why not make it better for then and the rest of us to combat zergs? I think that is a reasonable request and will make the game better.

Also the roaming guilds help the objective based game because they take the pressure of the other people defending the objectives by reducing the threat of an enemy zerg.
So they are in fact playing the right game.

Honestly, I think WvW is broken and no matter how Anet try to spin that they encourage small group tactics I don’t see it because most of the things they did up to know encourage zerging.

I am fine with the zerg if you give smaller groups ways to counter them (the answer is not siege btw) also please fix the lag and skill lag those zergs cause.

Sometimes If I pass by a zerg a few meters away I lag like crazy and watch everything on a delay.

This matchup has been horrible for me in terms of skill lag and lag that makes me see what is going on on the screen with a 5-10 delay from all the blobs I would assume.

Ask my guild, or in fact ask Gandara, many see me lagging all over the place or can’t be rezzed because on my screen I have not died yet, and then inevitably crash from the lag.

I like playing engineer the most in this game and in order for that class to be fun i need to switch kits a lot. I can’t do that with all this skilllag/ lag.

So I honestly feel sorry for you lot who move around in 60 something zergs only managing to hit the autoattack and celebrating the occasional utility activation.

I don’t put all the blame on you guys though, I blame arenanet too for encouraging zerging and not hindering it.

major lag spikes and skill lag on the Riverside borderland that make me watch what is happening with maybe a 5-10 second delay sometimes.

we had our borderland (Gandara) bugged last match up but not the skill lag and the lag spikes that lead to crashes have made me miss a reset which I love playing on.

if it wasn’t for the fun I have with the WvW community on my server and my guild I would quit this game and just wait for Camelot unchained.

It is extremely frustrating when and inactive leader hinders the rest of the guild.

My suggestion is to bring a feature that was in GW1 into GW2

from the wiki:

Automatic designation

If a guild leader is inactive for 60 days (2 months) from the last login, as shown in Guild window, they will automatically be demoted to officer, and the most senior officer who was active in the past 60 days will be instantly promoted to leader. If there is no active officer in the guild, the most senior member who was active in the past 60 days will be promoted instead.^
A new leader will have this description instead of the usual Promoted by <username>:

Ran into this hurdle in a guild I am in and we did not mind till we saw that the guild missions could only be activated by the leader.

Hope this feature makes into the game.

No real solution to culling. Countless times I thought I see a group of 6-10 only to see they were 15 or 20+

after all those times you just end up laughing when it happens.

So I’m curious ladies; why do you WvW? And if you do, what role do you find yourself in: support, supply, or out on the front lines bashing some heads?
What most out there should realize is that the “guy” beside you could just be female … and likely kicking your butt

I WvW because that is the part of the game I enjoy the most, and most of my time is spent there.

I don’t know how to describe my role I have a tank FT engi and a shout healer warrior and they are both built for different things.

I am mostly roaming with my guild. We cap supply camps, keep an eye out for targets of opportunities, try to ninja towers and keeps, and have fun.

My guild leader is a female as well and I respect her a lot as a commander.
