Disclaimer:My “testing” was just regular playtime while roaming in WvW it was not controlled where I can have exact measurements and such. Just some things I noticed during fights.

Had a lot of fun smashing people in the face with my hammer while roaming with my friends in WvW last night. So thank you to all the Devs that worked on Scrapper.

Feedback

Hammer #3 : really unpredictable, and misses targets. Would have liked to use it more but due to its unpredictability and the fact that sometimes I miss the guy I am targeting I use it sparingly

Function Gyro:
1)is it just me or do I have to be facing the guy to get the pop “Gyro Smash” in order for it to work? If so please change it. Would be great if I can just target and then get back to the fight.
2) it is slow to stomp in all the times I sent it out to stomp a guy while my friend stomped at the same time it always took longer than him. only managed 1 stomp last night that registered my finisher.

Gyros:
I tried but I could not get them to work in WvW. They are slow, too fragile and have some pathing issues.
The one I used most was the sneak gyro. Came in useful when hiding from the chasing zerg. Still like the others it is a bit slow and can’t keep up with me.

I would love it if superspeed stacked

if you want to find players on the map at any time of day (and you point out WvW guilds on all the time) you need to go to a Gold league server with 24/7 coverage.

+1 the extractor is too expensive and since I am not a gold farmer I am not swimming in gold that i can buy multiple sets of runes and sigils for every time I want to experiment with new builds.

make the extractor a LOT cheaper or do something else to make player able to transfer the runes and sigils around.

We are transitioning to a PvX guild and use EOTM to train. People usually complain because we play to win the match. Gets pretty kitteny.

I advise to not “train” in EotM because all you find there is PVE karma trainers and uplevels. not much of challenge.

Train in WvW where you will find competition so you can actually learn and get better.

I disagree with this Idea but then again I am a WvWer who cares about my server identity (Not the target audience for Eotm).

ask the PVE farmers who actually frequent that map.

Is this what ANet considers competitive? A server that has more than double the WvW population of all the other competitors.

You can’t even roam decently because EVERYWHERE there are dozens of Gandara running around and even if you catch the odd player his savior is just around the corner.

Gunnar duking it out with Drakkar in an epic Siege? Nevermind, here comes Gandara with 4 times the people and rolls over everyone.

I was roaming with a guildie on DL borderland and 90% we were being chased by either GH or DL guilds, or groups of pugs from either servers.

when you finally find a fight every enemy and their mother adds in or a guild group runs you over.

Check out Teldo. He is the engi I learned the most from when I first started playing this game.

Since this is for WvW players I wish you would do it in a more convenient time than one hour into reset.

Do it on thursday or Wednesday when its the end of the matchup and its better for people to take a break to watch it.

Wipe our zergs please. The old Gandaran WvW players are good because we went through trials by fire and the new ones need that too.

Those who can’t handle that or fair weather warriors will leave and only return when we are having landslide victories that WvWers get bored of. The people who will stick to it and learn to be stronger in the face of challenges, will be better for it.

Basically how it will work is: WvW will be boring (2 hr+ queues, maps 70+% green) for most/all of the tournament. Gandara will then go up to Gold, get annihilated for a few weeks (causing the bandwagon guilds to transfer out), then we’ll drop back down to Silver again and can go back to enjoying WvW. So basically: if you’re a non-bandwagon Gandaran, come back some time late July.

if would be fun if you can spvp while waiting for the queue. since EotM (the place where you are supposed to wait) is PVE farming.

In spvp at least I will get fights with people.

As a person who moved to Gandara during the transfer window. I can say that some of the Biggest guilds on FoW moved to Gandara. So I know they have had arou d 250 people from one guild alone. Not sure how many are in the other guilds. So I’m hoping for good things in Gandara. It’s been fun so far. As FoW was a diying server this is a nice change to be able to play WvW with out being steam rollered every few minuets.

So that makes most of FoW and all of UW moved to Gandara?

Anet should have seen this happening but they have proven time and time again that they know nothing about WvW and the people playing it.

What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
skill lag, rubber banding, screen freezing then every plays out really fast to catch up with what happened.

It happens sometimes but the majority of the time when one person is experiencing lag the rest are even though some are effected in different degrees.

Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
No. Everyone feels it. feel more lag on EB than on the other borderlands

Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
I mostly play at EU prime time. So many will be on the map with their zone blobs of 60 to 80 people. Also lag when there is new PVE stuff

If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
start at 40 up to the entire map as one blob

Buff / Buff might: The commander is preparing for battle and obviously will need something to help with all the commands he will deliver. Drop water fields to quench his thirst and thieves drop Shadow refuge because maybe this time you can stealth the entire zerg.

Well the queues i saw were 6 or 7 at borderlands and 60 plus at ET at 23.00 (gmt +2) my time.

That is about the end of prime time.

Prime time is full. Solo players may not feel it as much but when you are trying to get an entire guild on to the map for a guild run it really affects your play time and planning.

Queues on Prime time are not “small” they are long especially on maps that are full of guild groups because of the low turnover.

Queues are long in prime time because we are full. Thanks for your interest in us but you would play more and benefit other servers if you choose them instead of us.

Open Broadcaster also works really well and doesn’t slow down your system like fraps does. It’s open-source so it is free as well.

I love fighting against AG because it means we will fight against guild groups, and I can find good small scale roaming fun. Its not a boring blob server. We had some great times in the now extinct match-up threads as well.

Join AG. Keep them strong. So that we can continue to have good fights with them.

yes please! I try out new classes to use them in WvW and I do not like PVE and would rather roam in WvW than spvp.

Please implement this so I can level up my necro and maybe try ele at last.

I don’t know why you are doing this because it only benefits the the huge Blobs who insta build superior rams then facerub and auto attack the door while defenders watch it melt.

We have been asking for you guys to help the defenders and stop the blobs from causing damage with their player attacks on doors. However apparently you decided to help the blobs instead.

trebs are a good way to defend towers and keeps. Correct me if I am wrong but weren’t you guys the people who told us we should use siege vs zergs? So why change your mind now?

Who complained? Its not WvWers because WvW players who attack gates are the same guys who in other situations defend them.
What I think is that some PVE Karma trainer in zerker speed run dungeon gear wants to get his loot faster.

How about you remove the WvW maps from a separate instance and place it next to Orr so that the karma train can easily port to the WvW events (not fights anymore) without a long loading screen or queue.

There already very little incentive for defenders. Add to that that its a huge gold sink for them…

so yesterday Gandara became blue, and I was able to snatch another of the 4 maps I need for completion, so how are colors determined? if next week Gandara is green, it would solve all of my problems, but I suspect it’s not a rotation, but rather performance based.

Colors are randomly assigned. No real pattern now to my knowledge.

Gandara aka Gank-ara = official gankers’ server in EU. A typical Gandara player and his buddies can wait 20 minutes near a flipped sentry to ambush a solo enemy player. Most Gandara players run a gank build, besides few guilds. Could be in TOP8 if they would play for the points.

Gandara also is a fun server for WvW events. We just had our 3rd Asura only WvW night.

Thanks for the offer, but the only thing guesting does not allow you to do is to participate into the guested server’s WvW, IIRC or if they haven’t changed it since release…

you are correct if you guest you can’t go to the WvW maps of the server you are guesting on.

So I have no idea why jeff even replied.

the great thing about his stuff was that you can add it to a HTML block in guild sites/server pages. A little widget with the current matchup score.

you can’t really do any php with a guild host layout.

I hope any ideas about NPC complexity or any other PVE things are not thought of when developing new stuff for WvW.

WvW is PVP (at least its supposed to be regardless of how its turning into casual karma/WXP trains in the regular maps and a PVE farm fest in EotMs)

If the Devs could make changes that are more in tune with PVP skill based fights. Not PVE farms or Blob v Blob auto attack spam it would be better for the game and the game mode.

Edit: PS I like being a Gandaran I would rather not be just a color like in EotM so please do not collapse all the servers into colors. It might be fine for the trains in WvW but for organized WvW I see the absolute pain of organizing things across all the allied servers.

EotM is a farm fest. not really fun for a roamer.

Ok not all like this playstyle, maybe a little bit bigger(30 man are enough) and good guild are enough.
Or another suggestion, ask your Eternal Battleground blob…sorry zerg.
And you dont need to bunker, you can also stand between the keeps.
Or you can run to mummy and cry because other kids play unfair

I differ to you on the blobbing and bunkering in keeps tips since you are an expert.
