BL kits are 60% (new tooltip). I’ve used them and got between 0-3 ectos.
50%, I’m looking at it in game right now.
Main: Hunter.
If items is worth > 25 silver, sell on TP, if < 25 silver, salvage. That’s my standpoint. Even with that rule, I make a lot of ectos. If no one supplied the ectos to the TP, how could you possibly buy them?

First thing I did when crafting my medium berserker’s armor? Krytan gemstore skin. All medium armor I’ve seen in game (other than some dungeon ones) are pretty terrible looking.

I’ve already demoted my ranger to farm duty, kharza. As you mentioned, LB and GS aren’t great in comparison to our other weapon choices, and our viable trait lines are minimal. Having just made a Thief and Ele, it cemented my decision to not do PVP or much PVE with my Ranger til some serious fixes are put in place.

How exactly do you stow your pet away? I haven’t figured that out yet.
Blue arrow icon next to the pet abilities. Although as soon as you take damage from enemies or falling it pops back out (the issue reported here).

Do something against people who were able to do monthly achievements 2 or 3 times
Posted by: orci.5019
You do realize that if a monthly resets, it’s nearly impossible to avoid completing it again, right…? What do you expect me to do, stop doing DEs, WvW, or salvaging items? Please.
Main: Hunter.
“My question is if we complete it again before the October Achievement comes around are we going to get rewarded again?” – Yes. I’m currently working on monthly achievement completion number 3 as it has reset multiple times for me.
Main: Hunter.
No values or screenshots to back up your claims. Perhaps the ‘reward’ you are seeing upon completion in the top right hand of your screen is not incorporating the bonus? Check you actual karma value by looking at your inventory before and after an event.
Oh, and don’t call people trolls when they are asking for legitimate information to back up claims. if anything, you’re the one “trolling” and this topic will likely be removed.

Spirits are squishy and aren’t worth the spot on a skill bar.
“How could I possibly have forgotten about Spirits in my previous post?”, I just asked myself…
That’s how boring and useless Spirits are at this specific moment, at least from my personal experience. So bad, I totally forgot they existed until you mentioned them. Yet another skill sets of ours that only gains some viability if traited (movement), and even then they die almost instantly and the passives they grants are lackluster.
I’ve tried many times to play Ranger with something other than a Survival or Trap build (for PvP and PvE respectively), but haven’t found signets/spirits/shouts to to be all that interesting or useful. be useful at all.
Main: Hunter.
I have used the Thief traps, and they are more interesting. They add flavour to the profession. Ranger’s are just drop, make combo field. Except that the poison one (Viper’s Nest) doesn’t even make a combo field… The fact that they need to be specced in order to be viable at all (ground targetting) is even worse.
Main: Hunter.
Do you mean the traps that look to be an after-thought when compared to thief traps?
Or our signets, which every other class has, only ours are the worst of the bunch (we get 10% increased movement when another class get 25%? Okay…).
Or our reliance on our buggy, squishy pets, which take up another category of skills?
Or the long cooldown, bland, survival skills?
The more I play other professions, the more it feels like Ranger as a profession was an afterthought to fill in a gap the developers had.
It’s sad really, because I’ve put a lot of time into my ranger since launch and I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much.
Main: Hunter.
Playing my Ranger less and less each day due to all the bugs, boring skills, and lackluster trait lines. Made a Thief in the meantime, which I’m finding better in every way.
Main: Hunter.
Because of the karma and diminishing returns you probably wont see them for a short while.
But rest assured, as soon as one is made you know that person is gonna be showing it off in LA, and we’ll all know about it.
You only need 525k karma for obsidian shards, plus as much karma as it takes to get mystic clovers. I only play about 5 hours per day, and have 300k karma. no boosters used. I do not doubt other have been able to amass over 1 million karma, which should be plenty for a legendary.

There needs to be more choices for condition damage on gear. Plain and simple. I do not want POWER on my gear. I want condition damage/vitality/toughness. Where exactly are these stats easily obtainable? Currently, I can’t find any.
Main: Hunter.
It’s difficult to make certain trait lines for professions viable when I can’t find any Condition damage/vitality/toughness gear. Why is power included on every piece of armor? I don’t want it…
Main: Hunter.
Yak’s didn’t throw any games (I assume that’s what you mean by sandbagging at least, I’ve never heard the term before) . No one wanted to spend gold on siege, and coordination was minimal during 24 hours resets. Only once weekly hit did we get a bit organized (and then after we wiped the floor with DH and AR the zergs just took over)
Main: Hunter.
Just make Eternal Puzzle its own BG map.
Main: Hunter.
Let the non-MF-gear elitism begin… Hilarious how little people realize that pure knowledge and skill are what makes most PvE content easy, not MF/non-MF gear.
Main: Hunter.
Pretty sure the latest matchups start on Friday at 7PM EST (4PM PST), the same time that the balances occurred on the 24 hour resets.
Main: Hunter.
does the reward chest reset daily or is it a one time thing?
23 hour reset, same as gathering node farms (at least from my findings).
Main: Hunter.
Nothing is stable as long as free, no cooldown world transfers are a thing.
Main: Hunter.
Seeing how much the OP is irked (thus making this topic) shows exactly why people will continue disrupting puzzle jumping. It’s a PVP zone, so PVP will happen. Not only are the aggressors rewarded in loot/badges, they are also stopping enemy worlds from obtaining free blueprints.
What guild are you in, OP, so everyone knows to KoS them? ;-)
Main: Hunter.
Then take out gold and karma rewards from events as well, or else you’d be making pure but profit (No one forces you to buy siege or do upgrades to towers/keeps).
Main: Hunter.
Get used to it. Obstructed is the bane of my existence. Coupled with mobs going ‘invulnerable’ at seemingly random times, you’re in for quite the arduous trip to 80 and beyond.

Exploitable Bug Caught in Action: Abusing the Character on screen limit.
in WvW
Posted by: orci.5019
Poor coding by ArenaNet, in this case client/server update limitations, are not exploits. I’m getting the “cry wolf” feeling in these official forums lately with everyone claiming anything to everything is an exploit.
Main: Hunter.
But does there need to be a penalty for dying?
I guess I sort of imagine WvW as some worry-free fun.
If there is a legitimate reason for having a death penalty, than that’s fair enough, but I currently don’t see why there should be.
Is it suppose to prevent people suicide swarming places and dealing maximum damage?
If that’s the case, surely the long walk back would make that an inefficient tactic (defenders could just get themselves together while attackers walk back).
If there was no penalty for dying, currency rewards from events would need to be seriously reduced, or else there would be no sink whatsoever (no one is forced to buy blueprints or upgrades after all). I see many zergs running around capping points/supplies then leaving them unattended so they can be recapped 5 minutes later. It’s pure profit, and that really shouldn’t be allowed without some risk.
Main: Hunter.
Yes. WvW shouldnt be a pure-profit venture. Since a lot of blueprint can be found for free via jumping puzzles and have lowered costs due to guild influence, the only real sink is upgrades, which split amount 10 or more people is completely negligible. Repair costs should stay.

This thread… so unique and full of insight! Really wish the mods would more heavily moderate these French-centric whine threads.
Main: Hunter.
Leatherworkers requires 5 globs per exotic. No, Jewelers are not special.
Main: Hunter.
The amount of blatant elitism (and from what I’ve read, racism) in here is pretty astounding. Surprised it hasn’t been locked down yet.
Glad to see this community is growing to be so likable and friendly! >.>
Main: Hunter.
So, just make pure profit from all the DEs and loot from kills, with your only expense being the odd upgrade?
Sorry, but no, repair bills should continue to be in WvW. It’s easy enough to make gold in WvW, don’t need even more of a reason to zerg DE farm.
Main: Hunter.
The main reason I do not use 1-handed swords is the fact that the #1 skill is not able to be canceled and locks you in. Otherwise it would be a completely viable option.
Main: Hunter.
More combo field options are needed with future traps. Lightning? Water? Dark? Anything new would be fun.
Main: Hunter.
Have you seen a lot of the medium armor from karma and cultural rewards? Many seems to be what you describe. IE, functional, and not at all fashionable. Given the correct dyes they feel very much Ranger-esque.
Main: Hunter.
Some are used for legendary weapons. There’s threads on gw2guru and reddit regarding this.
Main: Hunter.
Longbow autoattack skill (1) needs a base attack speed increase. With this, it would be much, much more viable. Currently it’s lackluster overall when compared to other weapon options.
Main: Hunter.
I’ve found it in random drops (exotics) and salvaged the rune to sell, but I don’t think it’s craftable.
Main: Hunter.
I find the auto-attack (1) animations making it so you cannot move/control your character to be a limiting factor in enjoying the weapon. I prefer axe/shortbow/longbow auto-attack in that I can still move around and fully control my character.
Main: Hunter.
Just make the quiver an optional back slot item (replaces back brace/cape), with a visual model. Solved. (Take note, devs!)
Main: Hunter.
BM I found was somewhat useful for leveling to 80, but as soon as 80 hit, I found it lacking greatly. Even with 30 points in this tree, my pets died nearly instantly in explore mode dungeons. In general overworld PVE, traiting marks/skirmish/wilderness downs mobs so much faster. It does help that several major traits are only for specific pet types, many of which have completely broken F2 skills right now.
Main: Hunter.
What Fluffy says is correct. This is how I crafted my Mystic Crescent as well as a Mystic Battleaxe. The 50 skillpoints needed for the scroll is trivial at level 80 so it’s a good choice for a pre-legendary exotic.
Main: Hunter.
A fix for part b) is in the works. This should also help mitigate the issues of part c) since you won’t have to mash F2 so much, though I am also aware of this issue.
Part a) varies depending on each pet, so perhaps a list of the ones that are particularly troublesome could help to get them looked at =)
Thanks for the reply Ryan. I find my most affected pets are the Jellyfish, the Brown Bear, and Jungle Stalker. These should be compared to the Shark and Jaguar, which are both pretty much instant.
Main: Hunter.
Tired of renaming my pets each time I switch them using pet management tab. Hoping it will give an option to save them permanently per-pet very soon.
Main: Hunter.
If it’s possible for a ranger to interrupt casting something like Rapid Fire (longbow) in order to use another skill, why should it not be possible for a pet to cancel their current animation or skill and perform the requested F2 activated skill? This would help tremendously and create a lot more usefulness to the pet mechanic. At this point, I’m done even try to use F2 skills of other pets, and will stick to ones I know are instant. This means I won’t be using 90% of the pets, which is a shame, as I’d love to give all my pets some playtime.
Main: Hunter.
Since the costs of the satchels generally outweigh making each piece individually, and that the recipe itself is expensive to obtain, there is currently no point in crafting satchels.
Main: Hunter.
I’m currently finding that in some story mode and the majority of explorable mode dungeons that pets are simply die instantly.
I try my absolute hardest to micromanage my pets to go to and from the enemy to try and dodge as much AOE or physical damage as possible (this however is time that the pets are not attacking and not adding to damage output). Directed movement of pets is also very limited. I can tell them to return to me, but that doesn’t mean it will stand to the left of me where there is no AOE as opposed to the right of me where there is…
Using a ranged pet such as spiders at first seemed like a viable choice to me, as even bears, the tankiest of tanks, seemed to be dying instantly. Unfortunately due to being very squishy and not able to dodge, small AOEs generally melted my poor spideys instantly.
So, I want to hear, have any Rangers had a satisfactory time with their pets in dungeons? Please remember that pets are our profession mechanic and a potentially large source of damage output. Any time they are not attacking an enemy or dead is lost output on our part.
Main: Hunter.
Currently, the F2 (activated) skills of many companions either:
a) Do not work instantly and can have up to a 5 second delay
b) Only work after several attempts at mashing F2
c) Will cancel themselves and go on a cooldown without using the skill if F2 if mashed too much trying to get the skill to activate
This is a major issue for myself as a level 80 Ranger, and has been a thorn in my side since i started at level 1. Patch notes from several days indicate this should be fixed. It is not. I’m posting this here in hopes other Rangers will share in my pain.
*Note: some pets do have instant activated skills, such as the shark or jaguar, most others however do not.

What’s that ArenaNet? I can’t salvage my gems from all my accessories, rings, and amulets because they were karma bought? Thank you for telling me this when i put them in!
They really need to find a solution to this, I want at minimum to be able to get my gems that cost ~60 silver each back out to reuse!
Main: Hunter.
In nearly every dynamic event, I have found ranking directly correlates to the amount of damage done to mobs. In short, being ‘supportive’ in general is detrimental to being rewarded. This also means that people not damaging large waves of mobs will likely never get loot drops from those mobs.
It’s something A-Net needs to seriously look in to.
