well anyway, I got the standard responses I was expecting, But I don’t want to Run away when I am moa’d, I want to still fight.
ok. for now when I am moa’d, I dodge. hit skill 5, and get out of range of fire. then run back. fun times.
dodge rolling does not save you if you ‘re a moa for 10 seconds and have 2 attackers on you. I’ve never been alive long enough to use more than one moa skill, and it does no damage. But this argument makes my original point. there are no other elites that force the enemy player into purely defensive, run for your life type of play.
Basically. The Mesmer elite that turns enemy into a Moa is unfair. Everyone knows it. What is the longest you have survived in a match once you’ve been turned into a moa?
It is basically an instant kill, makes the player worthless skill.
Why not give the moa some better skills, or at least a way to defend itself or stay alive? It seems like all my armor disappears when ever I am moa’d. Name me another Elite skill that makes an enemy as worthless as this Mesmer elite?
If the devs are truly about fair Pvp matches, they will fix this. I’m not asking them to nerf it, or get rid of it. Just give the Moa’d player a chance to live thru it.
Disciples of the Dragon, Norn level 10 personal story is broken. My only choice was to delete my character. Because why have a character that can not do even the simplest of story steps. For the record I was level 21. and I tried more than once.
Everyone knows that the majority of runes and sigils have no value. mainly because no one wants them, or they are overly available. But major runes seem to stick around 4 or 5 silver even the ones no one wants, because they can be put into the Mystic Forge for a chance at a superior rune.
If the player was allowed to put superior runes/sigils into the forge, would this increase the value of unwanted runes/sigils?
Any guesses on what the lowest value of a rune/sigil would become? I say 30-40s while the Superiors with value would decrease by 5%

a – b + a – c + b – a + b – c + c – a + c – b = …….
where do you think the bot accounts come from? how would verifying your account prevent you from being hacked and used.
If an incentive exists to create an item, regardless of a demand for that item, the market becomes oversaturated, This makes crafting with the purpose to fill a need less relevant. This superfluous incentive is compounded with the fact that 99% of the Products themselves are unwanted or have no use to a consumer.
I don’t believe the purpose of crafting should be to level a character quickly. I think playing the game should serve that function. Key farmers and people leveling alts use crafting as a shortcut, to pay for leveling, instead of Play to level. This also is a negative mark on GW2, People should want to play the game to level, Why don’t you want to play the game?
To my second point. Until yesterday I was of the frame of mind that to solve the problem specific to craftable runes and sigils values, that the Devs needed to make them more desirable. I realized that this is not the solution. I suggest that to solve that aspect of the problem, they need to make the handful of runes that stand out, such as Hoelbrak, and Strength for example, less OP than the other runes. People would get more creative with their builds instead of just zerking up, and other runes would regain some value.
I have attached the current values/profitability of craftable runes, as of this post. The difference is shown as gold.silvercopper x.xxxx
(edited by party buddy.4956)
I would like to request that crafting no longer give experience, because it directly skews the value of crafted items.
I would venture to say that Key farmers, and lazy levelers represent the majority of people crafting. and they are creating the whole Tradepost/crafting convolution (worthlessness of items) which is IMHO a detriment to the game.

People can craft the Sigils to gain XP in their crafting profession. Discovering the recipe gives a good boost to their skill, and depending on the given Sigil/Rune it might be cheaper than the materials needed to discover an exotic weapon or armour.
It’s all about the usefulness of the Sigil/Rune, though. Look at the Superior Rune of the Scholar. It’s a crafted Rune, but it’s a popular one, so it sells for more on the Trading Post than it costs to make. I bet if there wasn’t a recipe to craft it from a Charged Lodestone, it might cost twice as much as it does. In that case, the ability to craft it yourself winds up keeping the price from growing out of control, though it’s still expensive because the component material involved is expensive.
Runes and Sigils are not the same thing – There are no craftable sigils worth the cost to craft them that I am aware of.
The reason they’re cheaper on the TP is you can get them randomly from promoting Rare sigils and / or get them from salvaging exotic gear.
The reason they are cheaper, is because no one wants them.. Which I just figured out by looking at their value. Maybe the solution is for anet to rework the craftable sigils so that they have more reason to exist in the game.
The ones that only come from drops have more value,
this seems to go against the logic in the quote above.
I really hope people aren’t crafting sigils to level that would be an extreme waste of coin, especially knowing beforehand the sigils are worthless.
“The system is set up for willingness to buy and willingness to sell. "
But isn’t this the point, The sigels are worthless, so why craft them at all, so why have the ability to craft them
(I’m just thinking outloud here)
If you make a substantially higher bid, you are less likely to be outbid too soon.
I agree, I think this higher bid should be forced.
And for the record I do bid more than 1 copper on items that I want right away., just to comeback 10 min later to see someone, supposedly without looking at the previous bids, has bid 1c more than me. You will see patterns like this 10.1 10.2 10.3 12.0 12.1. 15.0 15.1 15.2 15.3 – I would rather see patterns like 10, 11, 12, 15 where the lowest priced item is at 20
its less about instant gratification, then having to bid your way up 1 copper at a time until the sale occurs. I think if on a 1 gold item, bids went up incrementally by 1 silver, reaching that happy medium underneath the lowest sale price would occur faster. There is only so far a bid can go up before it reaches the lowest current listing of that item. I think it would be good for the economy to push people to bid closer to that value. My proposal wouldn’t change anything for the high turnover items, this is more about items that take weeks to sell/buy
I may have posted about this in the past, but I am sure its been over a year.
But doesn’t it seem like a good idea to have a disincentive to the copper bidding wars. I am sure you’ve been there just like I have where you place a bid, and 2 seconds later someone out bids you by 1 copper. so you bid 1 copper, then they bid 1 copper, and whomever is on top when someone decides to sell wins. This drives me nuts
I propose something to promote people who are bidding on an item to actually be willing to increase their bid by a relatively substantial amount. Something that makes them think first if they really want to increase their bid.
formatting is terrible in this forum, so I added an image.
I have salvaged quite a few exotics over the course of this game, and I am getting the distinct impression that certain pieces of armor are more likely to give a greater number of salvage results.
Anyone else think, or believe that salvaging a Chest piece is more likely to give ecto, darkmatter, and insignia, than salvaging a Head or Foot piece?
Maybe its just trauma from salvaging a pair of gloves and getting 1 silk.
Since Reanne is being punished and can’t reply for 30 more minutes…
Provide examples of what you want Reanne, I for one enjoy this system.
I’m sure there could be some sort of daily repetitive task added that could be done to justify veteran players receiving 10 ap, that at the same time allows them to feel like they are not entirely wasting their time, anymore than grinding already does… This doesn’t mean that the dailies that already exist must be removed.
How’s this: “Complete 1 event or personal story with another player in living story, story instance, or dungeon.”
nice to see that this thread has gone the way of every other thread in this forum… people just keep posting off topic and no one is around to keep the thread on track.
Wow… You see what you’ve done anet? NPE? I’ve been playing 2 years, and I still barely understand everything that was stated in this thread.
Thanks, all of those of you who were able to clear this up for me!
There seems to be some hidden punishments relating to the forum. After an account has been banned, and reinstated, How long must the previously banned player wait before they can post a new topic in the forum? even though the account is supposedly no longer banned?
so the following statement is true:
Any exotic armor/weapon may be salvaged for the possibility to receive all of the following results. inscriptions/insignias, ecto, darkmatter, and a rune. as long as the inscription/insignia of that armor/weapon is not craftable by discovery no matter the source of the armor/weapon. If the exotic item is discoverable in the crafting menu then only the possibility of receiving ecto, darkmatter, and a rune exists.
First question: Can you salvage Intricate Gossamer Insignias from Dungeon armor sets acquired with dungeon currencies (Shards of Zhaitan , Knowledge Crystals etc.) using a Black Lion Salvage kit?
and to continue this thought…
Can you get the associated insignia from any of the exotic armors? or would I be wasting my kits on a Berserkers exotic armor (Zhed’s armor for example)
Its pretty easy to meet up early, no matter where you start, Just use a Asuran Portal to Lions Arch, and you can head out to wherever you want from there.
I am getting the distinct feeling that people aren’t so much concerned about the cost of silk, as they are the cost of ascended armor. IMHO there is nothing wrong with how expensive this armor is. I will be seriously bothered if they make it so people can make this armor in 1 day with very little effort in gathering the funds for the materials. If the concern is the difference between the 3 sets, then They should make the medium and heavy more expensive to craft.
Nope, this is another one of those strange GW2 inconsistencies.. There are whites you can buy from TP that can not be salvaged.
Why am I getting a 2008 market crash vibe from this thread, specifically “the banks are too big to fail” and we need to break up the banks or allow the smaller ones to go bust… #occupythemysts
I completely agree with this request. Especially after getting bombarded by 4 spam gold sellers in a row, then switching charactors, and all thats left in my chat box is that annoying purple block of spam messages.
WTH can’t I get more important messages to persist. like guild chat conversations…
It would be nice to beable to remove the garbage from my chat box.
This thread makes my head hurt
I think…. What they should have done…. Is force everyone going through the storyline to do the “story” modes of each dungeon, before being able to move to next step of thier personal story. Maybe remove the word ‘personal’ from the storyline altogether.
I agree, getting arah done is a pita. but the reward from it is pretty lame, and doesn’t “Finish” the game anyway. It is not the “endgame”
So the people who do not like to do dungeons for personal reasons are locked out of more of the personal story than they are now?
Not everyone has a solid internet connection. Those people may avoid dungeons not because they don’t want to do them, but because they’re being nice to the other players they would be grouped with.
No thank you to this suggestion.
Well why are we forced to do the hardest dungeon of them all then?
Arah Story is one of the easiest dungeon paths in the game, if not THE easiest; it’s just very long. Arah explorable paths are the “hardest” in the game.
Edit: Also, I’m not sure what your above posts mean. In one you say that the story mode for all the dungeons should be required to advance the Personal Story. And then when someone said they don’t like that idea (for the record, I also think it’s a bad idea), you say “Well, why do we have to do this one?”.
I am pointing out the inconsistency of the thing. Why one, but not the others? If the reasoning is that the lower level story dungeons are not included in the “personal story”, would prevent players from advancing thier story, why then is the end one included?

well you could replace AR with CD – im not saying these are perfect matchups, but maybe anet has better stats and could make an evenly matched event, I think it could be fun.
Would AR and GoM do better vs Yaks than HoD did this week? plus don’t forget there would be Dragon brand in the mix also.
Not very helpful Svarty.
Is there any good reason why two servers couldn’t occupy the same Borderland -
Allied up, as it were,
People would retain thier server loyalty, but would be running alongside another server defending the same borderland. Here is an example of what the matchups could look like. I tried to even them out as best I could.
well lets just see who Yaks gets tonight….
oh… blacktide… blackgate… I thought he was on a NA server. I get it now.
Reset will be in about 55 minutes.
Seems like they might be removing WvW from world completion in HoT.
I don’t understand this? reset is not until around 6 hours from now
Are you sure Giant Eyes are the Eyes of giants? or are they just really big eyes?
I don’t play that one much, but there was a time when had a health regen food running with a metabolic primer… When I entered Southsun, I still had the regen, so my health never went down. I thought they fixed this though.
For those suggesting HoD and SB work together, I don’t think you realize just how lopsided this matchup is. Even if we could somehow coordinate, and get everyone from both servers on the same page (which there is no mechanism to do that) Yaks still out numbers HoD and SB combined 2:1
i guess thats redundant
There you go again, attacking instead of contributing.
People are not quitting because we’re not winning, They’re quitting because when they go into a match, they get overrun with 7 to 1 ratio of players. We have people who enjoy doing many different things that wvw has to offer, but none of those objectives are available when you are out numbered by such a large margin.
There are things that could be done to improve the game play between servers, name one. ( read the previous posts if you need help thinking of one)
Actually, I’m quoted in the original post. Where’s your contribution, again?
I win, you lose – its ok to move on now.
When people are stating things that are wrong, they need to be confronted. Personal beliefs and feelings aren’t fact.
But okay, here’s the problem that needs to be fixed that you brought up: you have witnessed in your own guild that there are people who won’t play WvW if other people haven’t already been winning the day for them. Is this accurate?

Perhaps if the vast majority of people showed up earlier in the match, they wouldn’t find the score showing such a big disparity.
Perhaps there are not a comparable number of wvw players on the server to show up to make a difference in the disparity. I know from what I have seen in my own guild this influences people who do enjoy wvw to feel disinclined to join in for the week.
Rimmy, I’ve noticed most of your posts are confrontational, and typically use hypothetical confusions of what could happen in the future, while attempting to belittle a person’s view of what has happened in the past. Lets try more posts on fixing the problem, and less on targeting peoples views with unfounded tripe.
Best of Luck NSP, when you play Yaks next week.
It is irrelevant if the content would be around for eternity. An item with infinite uses should not be sold as such, if it does not have infinite uses. It was false advertising, which might not have mattered so much, if they had kept SAB around for longer than it was available to be bought in the gem store.
Yes people are still crying about this, Many people are not crying though, but instead are just deleting the game.
The solution to the problem appears to be, let the underdog die out every time they hit the ceiling that is rank#8.
The server that reaches Rank 8 just has people quit playing wvw, and the game, and then another server can move up, get frustrated and ignored, then That server will lose people, quitting the game, quitting wvw, its an endless cycle that Anet has shown no recognition of or any interest in fixing.
