Spent my weekend waiting for nightfall, go up to the boss and no one is there. The one time there were about 5 people, it was a joke. 4 different times on Friday/Saturday.

The instance death is stupid, the lack of interest in the boss makes it stupid. I like tying up loose ends.

I can’t help because I most likely won’t get the expakittenil the Black Friday Sale after thanksgiving. But I probably don’t see the game the same way Reanne does, I am guessing if the OP used to take it for granted s(he) is implying s(he)’s been playing since gw1.

seriously? when I go there there’s nothing there but sandstorms and afk people. Is that ‘working as intended’?

Why do you think they chose to make the expansion because some people screamed for it? They haven’t done anything that I have screamed for… There are plenty of people screaming for many different things, and anet has always made their decisions based on their own interests, not the players interests.

I didn’t ask for an expansion, and its still up in the air if I will invest my time and money into one, Not sure I want to play another game full of bugs, and apathy.

pretty much nothing left to do in game but sit on forums attempting to put pressure on the devs to fix stuff that I would like to do, as I quickly lose interest in the game. Its quite pathetic actually.

But if a bug has been around for years… how am I supposed to believe that something is being done about it? Especially if there is no response from those responsible for dealing with the bug?

What purpose does this forum serve? Is it just a place to praise and sing to the almighty, a place of worship? Are we not all complicit in perpetuating the façade that something is actually being fixed with our blind faith in this type of controlling power?

Zero. Why would you? I spend enough on my daughters clothing, why would I spend it on pixels.

Do you know the difference between a bug, and a poorly designed, confusing game interface?
Is your lack of knowing something in the game, really a bug?
Is anets reliance on Wiki the reason there are so many non-bugs reported as bugs?

Do you just assume that because something doesn’t make sense that it must be a glitch in the software?
Do you come here to post a bug, without bothering to send a report In-Game?
Is the reason you do that because, The In-Game report options don’t ever match any of the actual bugs that occur in this game?
Is that by design anet?
Do you bother to create a ticket with support before posting to this forum?
If you don’t think it’s a big enough deal to do that, why post in the forum?
Is it just your way of finding out if it actually is a bug, because you don’t want to search wiki?
Can you tell I am bugged by the whole inadequacy of anets system for fixing and tracking bugs. It’s not your fault I know, broken is the new normal.

yes, if you expect a drop, you won’t get it – if you don’t expect a drop, you also will not get it. but have fun farming in SW

I think the salvage kit change was a stealth nerf, where the % on the kit went up, but the actual base from which the % is derived causes drops to be less, not more.

In case you didn’t know, you can still get this event completed and the corresponding achievement item. Just wait for a new patch (10 min announcement) and park one of your characters at the way point. Download the patch and quickly log onto that character and wait till Dobbs gets to the way point and start the event chain. The event chain will bug out after it is completed once on that instance of the map.
Alternatively, in theory you may be able to pop a new instance of the map if you can max out one of them, will require nearly 150 people to organize this.
But much easier to do this when a patch is about to hit.

And yes I totally agree the event should be fixed but in the mean-time this is a solid work-around.

This won’t work for me, I don’t get home from work until after 5:30 PT, by that time someone else will have already tried to do the event after an update.

I hope they care, I care, as do many other people whose lives revolve around this game. Pretty sure NCsoft doesn’t care, because corporations aren’t people, So I guess using my sound logic. Anet is understaffed.

Say you go to a level 10 event. It gives 7% of the exp a level 10 character needs to level. Anyone at level 10 or below will get that amount, even though for those under level 10, it’s more than 7% of what they need.

ok, so if I am reading the table correctly, a level one player needs 2000 xp to get to level two. so a Level 1 event will reward 7% of 2000 which is 140 xp.
A level 5 player needs 2999 xp to get to next level, which 7% of is 209.93xp.
So if that level one player does a level 5 event he will receive 209.93 xp

so because this forum is terrible, I can not see what was bolded in the above post. but no one else answered my question either.

My question is, If a level 1 player receives “gold reward” from a level 5 dynamic event, will they receive the same experience from that as if they had done a level 1 dynamic event, or will they receive more experience?

I am trying to understand something I read on wiki, hopefully someone can explain it. The following text is taken from the Guild Wars Wiki Dynamic event Page and it sounds wrong to me.

A dynamic event rewards 7% of experience required for the next level for players of the same level of the event. If the level is higher than the level of the event, the player will receive the base reward and an additional portion that scales with the difference in level.

Wiki makes it sound like if you are of a higher level, you will receive more experience from a lower leveled event.

My question is, If a level 1 player receives “gold reward” from a level 5 dynamic event, will they receive the same experience from that as if they had done a level 1 dynamic event, or will they receive more experience?

how can something be wrong that is taking the data directly from the API, if anything, it is just delayed by a little bit, because it does not refresh in real time.

remove the caps altogether, count the number of people who show up at peak times, Reset the caps based on server rank, as a percentage of those peak numbers.

Shouldn’t there be a more fair way to change servers? the longer you wait, the more expensive it gets, and some people who could have switched, now find it economically impossible. I think it should be a static cost. Over the last month prices have become out of control.

It seems like every time I try to do something that I haven’t done already in this game, I find that it’s broken. I made a Norn Engineer, got part of the way through the personal story, and found my progress blocked by a broken story path. so I deleted that character. Then I decide, even though I really don’t want to, that I will kill some Giants for the only Slayer Achievement that I haven’t finished. So I go to Brisbane, I stand at the spawn spot for the Broken Gollem for 15 minutes, until I start to wonder WTH. OH, no surprise this event is broken. The NPCs are just standing at the end of the event not doing a kitten thing. ( can you feel my frustration building? )So Now, I am trying to get the items for the Rare Collection “Treasure Hunter” and the very first item on the list involves and event chain. Protect Crewe Leader Dobbs. Which of course, will not begin, because it is broken also.

I encourage you to add others that you are aware of to this list, instead of burying each individual bug behind the next, pushing them to the back of the forum, to be ignored by the devs. And if you feel like telling me a thread like this already exists, feel free to post a link to that also.
